This Lesser-known U.S. State Park Lets You Hunt for Diamonds in a Volcanic Crater — and You Can Keep What You Find

Took three kiddos for a trip on a Saturday afternoon and we had a wonderful time. The park is clean, well maintained, and the staff were all lovely. Hidden gem in SW Arkansas and the kids are ready to go back!

This is a lovely way to cool off. It's small and expensive. We had 2 swimmers at 27$, but it's very clean and fun for the kiddos. There are water slides, fountains, waterfalls, and a few things for the little kids to play with. This park isn't recommend for teens or adults. There isn't space to actually swim and its only about 3 ft deep.

Great if you are under eight years old, not so great otherwise. Pros: It is clean, and oasis right next to the hot diamond field, so who wouldn't want a dip after digging in the hot sun all morning? It has a couple waterfalls with a "massage" type jet for adults. For young children, it has a play structure and two additional mild waterslides. The water temperature was perfect on a hot day--refreshing, but not too cold. Cons: Pricey for the size of the pool and limited features at $12 apiece. Major con: MAX DEPTH IS 3 FEET! Most adults probably take for granted that standard pool depth usually goes at least to 4 feet. You expect it to come to at least stomach or chest level, right? This pool has no places over 3 feet, which means that the water doesn't quite even reach waist height. It's hard for anyone over age 10 to even swim at this depth, much less stay cool while standing up. If you want your shoulders to get some relief from the sun you either have to stand under a waterfall the whole time, sit down in the 2 foot area, or stand around splashing your shoulders and torso. The 3 foot maximum was just a very odd choice for the park when building this pool.

Super fun park but VERY EXPENSIVE. For our family of 5 it was $42.00 and 2 of my swimmers were discounted due to their height. So it could have been even more. It would be great if you got a discount at the splash park for camping in the park. You can not bring in any snack or food of any kind and your drink can only be water. Lifeguards are constantly blowing their whistles and I get that you have to be safe but it was truly overkill. You can even hear those whistles in the State Park. It's a great idea but way to expensive.

My son with down syndrome was treated very well by the lifeguards they were patient with him even though he is nonverbal. The slides and pool area were very nice 👍🏻 However, they should add a season pass option for just one or 2 people

Great place to take the kids for the afternoon. There is a good life guard team, very clean. Simply a great place to enjoy with the little ones.

Nice little area for little ones. The reviews say there are 2 slides and waterfalls. They weren't working when we were there. The lifeguard said they don't want to pay to fix them, so they aren't working. The pool is shallow, so it's great for little kids. I wouldn't recommend this to teenagers. They will get bored.

Nice staff. They realized my son special (autistic) and just reminded him nicely we stand in line for the water slide. Very Clean. Heck they cleared the pool on the spot as soon as 1 of the 4 life guards realized their was blood in the water. Quickly cleaned as fast as they could go and soon enough everyone was back in. Priced fair. Family friendly for all ages. Fun more for your 7 and under crowd, but relaxing to sit around. It's not deep at all so Super toddler friendly. A great stop on a hot day for sure.
