"Any food lovers who are also curious about the history of Ios should head to Diaseli Cheese Museum. The museum was opened in 2020 by Dimitris Haros, a cheesemaker whose family has been making cheese on Ios for generations, and his wife Helen, who leads tours through the museum’s model rooms depicting 18th-century rural home life in Ios and demonstrating the ancient methods of cheesemaking. Centuries-old agricultural tools and ceramics are displayed, and you’ll likely see some goats wandering the property. After the short tour, visitors can partake in a cheese tasting at the outdoor tables that includes seven to 10 types of local goat milk cheeses made by the Haros family, accompanied by figs, grapes, tomatoes, honey, and plump pickled capers, all produced on the family farm, plus a jug of their traditional unfiltered wine. Before you leave, buy some fragrant dried thyme and oregano, also grown on the farm, to bring back home."

A must go in Ios. A very nice family business. The cheese testing was amazing, wine, cheese, bread, and a salad with produce of their own farm. The view from there is beautiful

Hellen is an incredible host. This is a must stop during your stay in Ios! You will learn about the history of the island before tourism and the traditional process of cheese making in this local multi generational family. You can not miss the tasting of the different cheeses combined with different types of honeys. Don’t forget to purchase some of your favorite ones before leaving. And the rosé… divine!

One of the best examples of showcasing local tradition in the Cyclades that I have seen. Well done to the owners for creating a place that offers more than just the usual ‘sea and sun’ proposition in the island of Ios. Highly recommended both for its tour and its cheese tasting offering. Ios Greece 🇬🇷

Definitely worth a visit. Beautiful surroundings, lush and quiet atmosphere and the cheese is absolutely phenomenal & delicious. Also it's super interesting to find out more about the past of this place with the little museum included here. Helen really is a welcoming host and her hospitality is outstanding. Me and my girlfriend Annika felt very welcome and would definitely recommend going here! 🤗❤️ Pro Tip: bring a sweater since it's super windy & cold up there! 😃 Helen and her family do provide you with blankets though! 🧣

From farm to farm. Wild capers, own production of cheeses and different type of honey. Each cheese (different ripening ages) are tasted with the appropriate type of honey. For the cheese lovers, definitely recommend! Very pleasant and customer friendly.
