I've been here many times and I know what to expect. But JESUS you guys can do better than this. It's not cheap food, you get exactly what you pay for. Add note for the staff: the burgers are paper thin you don't have to cook them to death! ( Observe your burger and notice that the edges are always burnt). Display survives off of people that are in a rush are people that don't care about their food. I come to this place every once in awhile only because I'm an extreme Rush. This would never be my 1st choice for food

Google
No fuss, good comfort burger food. Yeah the fries can be better but when it's fresh off the fryer, it's greasy satisfying! Our dog loves the fries too (and she's picky) 😁 The best item on the menu though is the huckleberry ice cream, yum!

Google
Dick’s was one of those Seattle chains we knew we wanted to try when in town. We picked up Dick’s for dinner. This location was a little tucked away, but the building was clean and the guy taking our order was very nice. Food was quick to come out and overall tasty. We got a deluxe, some special burgers, some fries and some shakes. I wasn’t prepared for sweet pickle relish on the burger as the sign just said chopped pickles, but it was something different and still a good burger. The fries were a little soggy, but I liked the flavor. Shakes were delicious!

Nice wide open & clean parking lot. They open promptly and with a smile. The team seamlessly moved the waiting customers through the line rapidly. We were 2nd in line and before we made it back to the vehicle with food in hand, they had already served and emptied their lines.

Google
Always Amazing. I give them my money any time i want amazing ‘merican cheeseburgers that align with my hunger & social values. One cannot go wrong spending money here unless you don’t need two extra orders of fries with tartar sauce like me.

Google
The food is yummy and very affordable. The size is appropriate for the amount paid. The store is good and clean with ample parking. The rotating sign is a nice background for pictures. We ordered fries (they are ok and quite thin), deluxe burger, special burger and a float.

Google
Great concept, great prices, great service. NO EXCEPTIONS - not for allergies, illnesses, or preference. That's how they do what they do, so don't just don't go off you can't/won't eat it as sold. As much as I personally don't like that inflexibility, I FULLY SUPPORT THEIR AMAZING BUSINESS MODEL (look it up!)

I've been living in Seattle as of this coming June some 30 years plus . Lower Q.A. , then Crown Hill, now Lake City. & honestly, the the fact that there was a Dick's Drive-in within walking distance of each apartment building was not a motivational factor. Back in the day, I truly loved the taste of a Delux or a cheese burger on a late night of beer and good times when at my neighborhood pub. But last week, I put an order for ten burgers, $ 29 & Chang, thinking they would need some time l stepped to the side. I've tried to understand why, but for whatever reason, I saw over 20 customers, at least 35 different burger choices completed. It was then that I asked the young man who took my order, " What's Going On? " After a 10 minute wait, the young man stood at the assembly point and filled 2 bags of 5 each. Was it my fault for being raised at a time when customer service was not ... "Whatever I get around to it"

Yelp
Consistent, delicious food. Yummy chocolate shakes and fries. Quick service. Clean. Good people watching if you want to eat in your car.

Yelp
I wanted something quick and easy to eat on my ride back home, so we stopped by here. I got two Cheeseburgers and fries and my bf got his usual two Dick's Deluxes and fries. It was a Friday night, and was pretty packed. But there were many lines open, and we got in and out very quickly. I ate the one Cheeseburger with my side onions on the ride home, and was satisfied. I put the fries in the air fryer when I got home (I like crispy fries).

Yelp
I went and got terrible service from some person with two band aids under their eyes and they completely messed up my order

Yelp
Nothing special about the place, but it's normally a good fix for a late night bite. However now twice I have swung by after Midnight to get stuck with their registers not working. The whole point of this place is to be a quick in and out. Last thing I want to do after a long day is get stuck there waiting. Specially when the manager on duty is being a prick and acting like my card is to blame. I even went to Taco Bell a few blocks down and bought a burrito to make sure it was in my card.

Yelp
Don't get me wrong, Dick's is very good most of the time except this morning January 1st, 2025 around 10:30 AM. I went there to pick up (2) specials, 1 cheese and (2) fries. Everything tasted fine except for them fries. Either Dick's change their supplier again Or these fries are from last night. My usual fries from Dick's are limpy and kinda greasy. But what I have aren't even greasy. Almost like some of them store brand fries. Texture also different. Kinda weird.
google avatar

Yelp
It's unforgivable that in today's day and age, Dick's does not offer a single vegetarian option.
google avatar

Grace F.

Yelp
Not busy at all when we arrived, but while we were ordering, people started to walk in & it got busy. Pricing is very very cheap for the quality of food you get, but apparently they are trying to keep it at that price, since they've been in business. The cashier was very friendly & happy to answer any questions we had regarding the menu. They only serve burgers, so if you are looking for a "chicken" vegy meal, this is not the place for you, unless all you want is fries. They offer tartar sauce for dipping your fries. Not the whole fish & chips tartar sauce, it's a nice flavor of mayo & relish kinda dip. A ton of parking & there's not sitting unless you're eating in your car. This is a burger joint to visit if you're in Seattle. A must try

Yelp
Dick's is a Seattle staple and has multiple locations across Seattle. This location is in Lake City off of Lake City Way NE. There's no seating so most people either eat in their cars or take it to go. I got the Dick's deluxe, fries, and a strawberry shake. Normally I like the burger but this was just okay. The portion of fries was less than I've had and was lukewarm at best. The shake could've had more strawberry flavor. I've had better food at other Dick's locations and the food I had here was just okay. It also doesn't help that this location doesn't have seating.

Erbulan K.

Yelp
Great tasting burgers. Fries looked soggy and homemade which tasted like something original rather than other fast food chains.
google avatar

Tony C.

Yelp
A Seattle staple for burgers, fries, and shakes. Fast service for a walk-up windows. Try it because everyone in Seattle lives this place!
google avatar

Jenny L.

Yelp
Can't go wrong with the iconic Seattle burger joint. We had a massive family to feed and they did well to pack it in a to go box to preserve the wholeness of each burger. I personally like a little more lights to brighten up the place and to keep it safe at night but this may be a personal note. Parking was hard to get in and out of compared to other locations.
google avatar

Jessica S.

Yelp
A really great burger joint that has the simplest menu, great prices, and fast service! The burgers are so good, I really like the cheeseburger. The fries are pretty traditional potato fries. If you catch their food truck out and about be sure to grab yourself a burger. The lake city location today wasn't packed and we were able to get in and out. This place can get packed! Lines can form in the late evening hours and I can see why, the food is delicious.

Yelp
OMG!!! It's like In n Out married five guys. This place was delicious. They came highly recommended and did not disappoint. I will definitely be returning.

Yelp
Dick's is the Pacific Northwest equivalent of In-N-Out, but with way better fries. It is not really a drive in, but has a cute retro look and looks like one. This location is walk up/takeout only (no seating), so prepare to take your order to go. The menu includes burgers, cheeseburgers, french fries, milkshakes, and ice cream sundaes; and that's it! Their shakes are made with real ice cream, and are nice and thick. I loved the chocolate flavor. I also got an Ice Cream Sundae with Hot Fudge+Rocky Road, and was impressed by the quality of ingredients considering it was like $3. My husband likes their burgers, and the fries were amazing, with a nice crisp golden exterior and pillowy potato inside. I dock one star because I wish they had some sort of vegetarian sandwich option. Even a simple grilled cheese would be fine. Regardless, I love Dick's ;)
google avatar

Kessy M.

Yelp
Better than in and out.100% beef. I love the deluxe cheeseburgers with extra onions, and their bomb ass milkshakes.
google avatar

Paul G.

Yelp
Ok, I just don't not see the hype of this place, the food was just ok, the PRICE was good.... The staff is friendly, everything is "To go", no place to eat unless you are in your car...
google avatar

Tom B.

Yelp
Quite simply the world's best burgers. This location is the most convenient for me, but all the locations are superb. I strongly recommend the Deluxe. I routinely buy three of them, and go home and enjoy!
google avatar

Maria R.

Yelp
I love the food here! Always a great place to stop when craving a quick burger and amazing fries! Heard great things about their shakes, so that's my next mission! They are friendly and quick about their service, which is great because they're always busy! Parking is sometimes difficult but it's a popular spot, well worth it! The environment definitely reminds me of an old 50s movie drive in spot (without the movies of course) and I love going here with my friends.

Robert M.

Yelp
Deluxe, fries & vanilla shake! Classic & tasty Seattle fast food for lunch or late night snack! First bite on Queen Anne Ave in 1975, most recent in Lake City- yesterday. I will do it again, and again!
google avatar

Yelp
Dick's Drive In is legendary. I've never been to this location before. You wait in line outside. It isn't a very long wait since they're pretty efficient. The staff are friendly. The food was only okay. It wasn't amazing. I can't quite figure out why, though. But I did enjoy a good milkshake!

James R.

Yelp
Nothing fancy, just a nice tasty burger and somewhat limp fries that do the trick And excellent tasting milkshakes at great value What more could you ask Always clean and staff in my experience so polite and friendly Seattle should be proud of Dick's Jim from Maplelag in Minnesota

Yelp
Not sure what the situation was today with this location but this was hands down the worst experience I've ever had at a Dicks. I'll preface this review with - Dicks is not a gourmet fancy burger place. They don't take customizations. They are basic and standard and consistent and perfectly yummy. I've previously rated other locations 5 stars. So I know what I'm in for when I go to Dicks. That said - I went and ordered 10 Cheese and 1 Deluxe today. They didn't have any Cheese and offered me some random combination of Plain Cheese and hamburgers or to wait without any time frame. I chose to just wait. Fine. Whatever. I wait. I get the food. I leave. I get almost home and find they gave me 10 PLAIN Cheese. PLAIN cheese. Meaning no ketchup/mustard. Considering I had turned down Plain Cheese AND WAITED for (regular) Cheese - and the fact this is a place that charges for additional ketchup/mustard - they sure better refund me. I'll update this review if I hear back from them. Otherwise I won't be back to this location.

Yelp
This is what dicks drive-in is offering for cheeseburgers in the Lake City area. I spent $25 to feed my family and we all had over cooked burgers. I highly recommend if you go to this location you check your food before you drive off. Very disappointed.
google avatar

Yelp
Everytime I come to Seattle I always make sure I stop at Dicks. The service is always excellent and the food always comes out quick. I love the deluxe burger which taste similar to a big Mac but better. I also always get the cheeseburgers but make sure you eat them right away so you still get the crisp of the burger meat and melty cheese. Surprisingly though my favorite item is the fries with no salt. You can really taste the potato on every bite. I will definitely come back next time I'm in Seattle and try the shakes.
google avatar

Long K.

Yelp
I understand the history of this place in Seattle's culture, but I can't help to think it is the most average burger I've eaten. Of course you'd come here for cheap prices and fresh beef patties, but there's nothing too memorable in taste to make me crave it again. Note: They don't allow burger customizations. I'm not a pickle person, but it was tolerable as mixed in their "tartar" sauce. Not a personal fan of limp fries in general, but again it's cheap, salty and freshly made. The strawberry milkshake was average, I might even say it barely had any flavor aside from the vanilla base. This location has a large enough parking lot. Lines will build up quick, but goes by fast, assuming the person ahead of you isn't obnoxiously ordering 10+ burgers.
google avatar

Yelp
Quality of food is bad. It's fast food, but still... Always wanted to try In 'n Out burgers. No plans for heading to California though.

Virginia K.

Yelp
Best shakes and fries in town... u have to try it for yourself. Open late and always busy
google avatar

Julianne S.

Yelp
Quiet. Unusually so considering it's 1145am and peak burger hour, especially for the construction trades. Yet there are only 3 people at the window. Why is this? Recent price hikes could be the issue. Or the quality (or lack thereof) of the food. I have never returned a burger at Dick's before today. The wrapper was cold and the meat luke warm. Without hesitation, I was given another. It, too, was hardly warm. And both burgers were way overdone. I generally don't use this location. And admittedly I am weaning myself off burgers and shakes, so it's been awhile. But I sure don't remember Dick's being like this. Service was good, but not as peppy as at other locations. But then it's kinda hard to keep your energy up when business is slow. C'mon, Dick's. You're better than this.

djmadmax w.

Yelp
I eat here every week. Simple, consistent, quick, delicious, hang over cure. A Seattle classic!!
google avatar

Yelp
In Seattle Dicks is the most popular restaurant. I have had In-N-Out and Dicks is by far better -Fries -Burger -Shake Something is so nostalgic about going to Dick's that every time I go it feels like the 80's. If you are in the state of washington you would be dumb not to go to dicks.
google avatar

Joshua R.

Yelp
In 2011, the price of a Dick's Deluxe Burger was $2.50. The price as of August 2023 is $5.30 which is a 112% increase. During this time, inflation has been 39%. Dick's has never had the highest quality burger, but it has generally been the best bang for your buck in Seattle. The problem with these price increases is that the price has increased dramatically but the quality is the same. Now the burgers feel incredibly overpriced. I can't give it 1 star because the fries are still excellent and they treat their employees well. If you're looking for a good burger in Seattle, I'd check out Red Mill burger.
google avatar

Pauline L.

Yelp
My bf from Texas and I from California both were quite pleased with Dick's! For the price it's a good little burger! Personally I think In'N'Out and Shake Shack are overrated and I personally LOVE Whataburger and Red Robin, but this Seattle tradition is worth a visit! On a late night, this is a good reliable standby. Service was quick and friendly. Buns and meat were nice. Funny they don't add mustard on yhe burgers for you but they gove it to you on the side. Could use some more veggies but I'm a veghead. Tip: get more fries than you'll think you should eat. They are fresh and the serving is small. Bonus points: higher pay and scholarships for their workers

Yelp
Yesterday, I braved the wind, rain, and Redmond traffic to try the new Dick's burger place in Overlake. My parking slot was tough to find, but they did have two handicapped slots--well down the line. I ordered the "Deluxe", drink, and fries and found it was cheaper than other places. I asked for ketchup, mustard, and onions only so they gave me plastic mustard and ketchup packs, and a tiny plastic container of chopped onions. The burger came pretty quickly but it was not customized as requested--but I was not told they don't customize. The burger was dry, the lettuce soggy, the sauce strange, the bun plain. The taste? Barely edible. Definitely not worth nearly $10. I don't get it. Why the accolades? Yes, the fries were great but not as hot as I expected. Nope, I'll stick with Kidd Valley, Fat Burger, Burger Master, or even 5-Guys.
google avatar

Yelp
Childhood favorite and still the favorite. Flat grill sear burgers is classic. Fresh cut potatoes straight into the fryer ~ soft, long and limpy to dangle over your mouth ha! The only joint where you come to eat and relax in your car ;)
google avatar

Marie B.

Yelp
Consistent cheesy goodness = cheeseburgers Chocolate shakes, always hits the spot! Efficient, friendly staff and open until 0200...what's not to love? Seattle locations in Queen Anne/Seattle Center, Capitol Hill/Broadway, Wallingford/45th, Ballard/Holman and Lake City plus up in Edmonds/99 & 220th.
google avatar

Chikis S.

Yelp
Absolutely loved it .. classic feel, great food, fast friendly service. Definitely worth the visit.
google avatar

Yelp
Born & raised in Washington state, no other burger makes you feel at home when you bite into a @dicksdrivein burger. By no means will you find a fancy over the top burger but you want a classic that has been a staple in the PNW for decades and part of so many families life's? You will find your feels here. Scouts honor, my favorite is their hamburger and it's all I ever need from them. Their fries arnt the best lol but they have improved. Excited to see their mobile food truck get up and running!

Lyla B.

Yelp
I was enjoying my food until, I took a bite into my burger and almost broke my tooth. As well I found a hair wrapped around the fries. Absolutely disgusted with my experience.
google avatar

Sandy M.

Yelp
Great to see a company that not only has reasonably priced, good food and who cares about their employees offering $19/hr and benefits!
google avatar

Travis N.

Yelp
Pretty straightforward about dicks. It's over priced food, very salty and really just another Pacific Northwest fad restaurant. I go maybe once a year for giggles but honestly In-N-Out would be way better up here.
google avatar

Jasmine L.

Yelp
Cheap price, good quality and tasty food! Fast service Good food for your money, a popular place

Yelp
The Champagne of burgers & fries in Seattle. Having grown up on DICK's burgers I consider myself a spokesman for the best late night greasy fries & burgers joint around. Now I'll grab a Dicks Deluxe anytime of day, yet nothing tops off a night of boozing & chasing women like the taste of Dicks Drive Inn at 1:30 in the morning. Theres nothing like power of 2 meat patties, lettuce cheese & sauce slapped onto a bun, fresh cut fires and served with either a Coke or handmade strawberry milkshake to cap off a prefect night. Well, only one thing better is when you've manage to have a special friend with you ( wink wink ) to share it with. Not much has changed over the years. Dick's has manage to keep a very basic menu with 4 choices. The Hamburger , Cheeseburger, Special & Deluxe are your Burger choices along with french fries that are hand cut from fresh potato's on the premises for quality. Ice cream scoops & milkshakes for those desiring something sweet or if your maintaining a vegan diet yet just wanna participate in the institution. Parking is on the premise so you won't have any worries about parking. Meals are served fast and hot. And on occasion you may wait in line but that's cause others want what you want. Remember DICKS is so iconic the Sir Mix A Lot & Macklemore has shoot MTV videos here. Damn now I'm hungry so I'm off for the big tasty.
google avatar

Greg C.

Yelp
Landmark local favorite for basic burgers, fries and shakes open late so you can hit it anytime. Good prices too. It can be packed after a event or show.
google avatar

Abbey O.

Yelp
Five stars for Dicks because they are a total northwest staple. The prices are unreal, everything is super simple and straightforward. It's not a big thick sophisticated burger, it's a nice old school kinda crappy, super not good for you burger and that's what makes it so friggin fantastic. If you are visiting Seattle this is a MUST STOP and if you live here and have never tried them before, be ashamed. Get some!

John K.

Yelp
Only consistent fast food place in lake city. I love that they are super consistent between locations, and I love that it's fast and easy to order.

Susan B.

Yelp
Great service, good burgers, lots of parking. Still the best fast food burgers in Seattle.
google avatar

Florence H.

Yelp
Classic burger joint as always. Dick's has a special place in my heart when it comes to burgers in Seattle. The name is interesting but they don't joke when it's classic burgers. I love getting the special and deluxe. Not much to really say but the deluxe has two beef patties and cheese. I opt for the deluxe when I'm pretty gingery and a side order of fries. Dick's is really a place that has no frills and it's just a place to get good burgers without the frills and heavy price.
google avatar

Tiffany O.

Yelp
This Dick's location can be a hit or miss, especially at peak times during lunch or dinner on weekends. The lines are hard to judge, and you can't tell which is best based on how many people are in front of you because I've had times where a line with people who showed up more than 5 minutes after me all got food before I could order. The deluxe is the best option in my opinion, but even those are inconsistent, too, with the lettuce and/sauce flopped out. Sometimes the cheese is lopsided, and I've had times where half the burger was uneven and stuck to the wrapper once I opened it. There's sometimes chewy bits, but this is Dick's - you get what you pay for. It's good enough given the price.

Ollie D.

Yelp
I love eating dicks burgs as much as the next guy but this is a subpar dicks establishment. The service is slow despite low traffic and the burgers were cold with soggy lettuce. Drive to dicks on 45th if you want to experience a true dicks burger.
