Today, I went to Dick's to purchase a Maxfli Swing Weight Training Club as I saw that this location had several in stock. When I arrived in the Golf Department, an older white man was working behind the counter. He didn't appear to be in the best of moods. I said, "Pardon me, sir. I am looking for the Maxfli Swing Trainer. It says that you have..." He cut me off with a curt "Nope! Sold out!" I walked away and reread my phone where it stated that there were several in stock. Fortunately, an extremely nice black lady walked up (possibly a manager?) and politely asked if I needed assistance. I explained what I was looking for and stated that the website showed that there were several in stock. And I wantsd to make sure he was accurate as it would save me a drive elsewhere. She took the information down and said, 'Let me see if they are in back stock. She was gone no more than a minute or so and had one in her hand. She then apologized and I thanked her. She thanked me as well.
I work at a very prominent professional golf course in tbe area and customer service is my top priority. It goes a long way. His version of customer service was severely lacking as hers more than made up for it. For those who have made reviews about racial motivation, I will say that I am white. There are good and bad employees. It just so happened that I encountered both today. Kudos to you, Dick's and SOME of your staff as other seem to need a refresher in professional courtesy.
