Maybe it was a bad day for employee named Scott, but we had a very unpleasant exchange today when shopping in store. They say retail is a dying business for brick and mortar businesses, but bad customer service is the speed train there.

Only got 3 stars because they had what we wanted, but the customer service was horrible, was after shoes and the "sales man" acted like we was more of an inconvenience then anything, it was like pulling teeth to get him to get the shoes we was looking at in the size we needed, after getting the shoes he walked away and never came back to make sure they fit or that's what we was wanting, probably next time will go to scheels, they're always helpful and atleast act like they want our business.

The supervisor here is extremely racist me and my black teen son was walking around the store looking to purchase items he followed us Around the whole store and even called the police on us for no reason I will be sueing if your black don’t come here they will racial profile you

I was there 11/18 about 5pm looking at shoes. I didn't find anything I liked but the young man with dark curly hair who was working the area was simply wonderful. He was very kind, attentive and cheerful and gave such great customer service. He had good product knowledge and was handling multiple customers with ease. Sorry I didn't catch his name but I think he was the only one working the shoe area at the time. My kudos to him! Please pass on my compliments to him and his supervisor.

I like this Dick's. The 1 armed manager, the checkout people, and the mid 50s golf guy were all A+ the last 2 times i went in there. Had issues with taylormade tour response golf balls and they all made it easy to exchange them

They have men's jackets and coats but zero for women. Women have paper thin windbreaker jackets and sweatshirts. I'm not sure why they have some for one but not the other.

No fishing department this one sucks it gets a 1. Might as well go to Scheels they have a large fishing section. You can only buy shoes and clothes at Dicks

This place has great customer service. The employees are always willing to help me and always greet me with a friendly smile. However, these employees are being underpaid. Maybe if the manager would give his/her workers a pay raise, I would give the review more stars.

This place has the worst customer service. It's like the employees are trying to avoid any eye contact or interaction with customers. Once you find someone, ask a question and get the response "I don't know if we have that..." go across town to Scheels where the employees are more than happy to help you and the selection of merchandise is much better.

No mountain climbing gear... Of course it is flat here in IL... Also no swimming gear... However it is winter. But it would be nice if they had something like that in stock.

Very poor customer service I bought a mountain bike with the protection plan from this store 2 weeks ago. I rode it once and got a flat tire. I took it in for what I thought would be a quick fix. One week later they haven't even touched my bike and argued with me that I brought it 4 days after the day that I actually did. I asked for a refund and they did, but with the worst attitude you could imagine. I'll be taking my sporting goods business elsewhere in the future.

My second experience with Dicks in Springfield IL was not any better than the first. I ordered two spinner fishing poles online. I didn't check for fishing line when I picked them up. One would assume that a rod & reel would come with fishing line. Wrong. Walmart sells poles with string but not Dicks. How lame!

Stopped by to pick up a golf ball retriever. Picked one up under the $19.99 sign and it rang up for $39.00. The check-out girl starred at me like I was an idiot when I asked for a price check and requested that someone go look at it. The guy that looked at it just said, "well those are marked wrong, that's not $19.99." When I asked where the $19 ones were, he stared at me (he must have been related to the check-out girl). I just set down the stuff I wanted to buy and walked out. I was at a loss for words at how BAD their customer service was.
