Die Alm

First we stayed in the Hotel next door, but decided for our last night to switch to Die Alm. The hotel is fairly new and has free parking.||The rooms are spacious and simple, but functional and have all pretty views on the landscapes of the Oberkirch area.||We stayed here based on 2 delicious dinners at the restaurant. I highly recommend when staying here to dine at the restaurant. ||We even dined there another night and my sister chose 3 times the same dish since it was so good! ||||Breakfast was simple, but fresh with a small, but good selection of items. I liked the scrambled eggs, the homemade jams and the fresh fruit selection. Furthermore, they have fresh bakery goods which weren't previously frozen. ||The staff, especially the friendly owners, make this hotel a very good option when in the area. ||||I can highly recommend going for an extended walk/ hike ( for instance the Oberkircher Brennersteig is lovely) through the forest and fruit plantation. The area is known for its fruit production.

We loved this hotel, here for a wedding. The room was very spacious and for once the contents of the mini bar were affordable so we had a large bottle of beer - 3 euros and a small bottle of wine - 200ml maybe? - 4 euros, both very good. Walk in shower and nice complimentary toiletries. The best thing however was the large balcony and the gorgeous view. Oh and the food - that was great too!

We stayed at this lovely hotel on the edge of the Black Forest in August 2021. It’s a cracking small hotel with a lovely quiet location in a small village. The hotel looks exactly as it is depicted on the website and the rooms are immaculately cleaned and well maintained. The rooms all have a balcony and these are really spacious and a perfect place to watch the sunset. The hotel team is extremely friendly and helpful. Other facilities include off-road parking and an excellent restaurant. Breakfast is generous in my opinion (have read a different opinion on this) but items include cereals, fruit, yogurt, juices, bottles water, pastries, bread, (delicious) homemade jams, cheese, ham, scrambled eggs and bacon. Freshly made coffee is served by the team and they also have a selection of tea. Could not fault it - excellent value for money.

We returned exactly 1 year after we celebrated our wedding in the Alm in August 2016. Our wedding was fantastic, we had the Hotel for exclusive use from Friday to Sunday and most if us stayed until Monday. The location is amazing and the food is to die for. All our friends (most of them work in hospitality ) had only words of praise for the service food and location.|The rooms are alpine chick, very modern with a twist also very light and airy. The breakfast buffet has a lot of local produce as well as homemade jam from Mr Slager. ||This year we returned to celebrate out first anniversary and is was as good as we had in mind. We got spoilt with a 5 course menu with wine and a welcome cocktail. |We loved the Kräuterschaumsüppchen (herb foam soup) and the beef filet. Service was personal and very friendly and when we walked in the door Mrs Slager recognises us and greeted us by our names. Makes you feel very welcome.|Also the new restaurant looks great. We will definitely return

My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Die Alm.|The location was quiet and peaceful with lovely views of the hills around. It was off the main road.|The room was very comfortable and we loved the simple and plain decor. It was spotlessly clean, light and we thoroughly enjoyed sitting outside watching the shooting stars from our balcony which happened too be very visible on that evening.|We booked a table outside on the terrace and were delighted with the service.|The Vegetarian menu was limited but the chef came up with a delicious vegetarian risotto as a bonus....now that’s awesome.|The breakfast buffet was also very good and ample choice. It should be noted that the produce is organic and locally sourced as much as possible. If you are travelling in the area, you won’t be disappointed. |There is a play area for the kids directly in front of the terrace area, they play you enjoy your wine and meal :)|Wir möchten diese Möglichkeit nähmen, alle Mitarbeiter der Hotel Die Alm recht herzlich zu bedanken. The room was spacious and very clean, design very beautiful. We really enjoyed the scenerys and the surroundings for freshing morning walk. But the breakfast, it was the best ever. Fresh berries and fruits, good bread and cheeses and the prefer close produced food!

We chose this hotel on our way home to Switzerland. It is located outside Oberkirch, on a hill with orchards and views of the hills. The rooms are spacious, modern and have a very luxury feel to them. We had two adjacent rooms with our kids. The staff is very kind and accommodating and really make an effort to make your stay a great experience. We had a superb dinner in the hotel restaurant.

The Slager family has owned the restaurant for many decades. A hotel was added by the son when he took over day-to-day management. The food continues to be excellent, fresh, local and varies with seasonal availability. We stayed in the hotel at the end of June when a major heat wave hit all of Europe. The hotel does not have air conditioning so the room could only be cooled by leaving the windows open during the night.
