Die Tuishuise and Victoria Manor Cradock

A gem of the karoo. Lisa and her tireless staff have renovated an entire street back to its original glory. Where ever you turn, you are greeted by well considered installations of antiques and fascinating objects. The small town houses are strung down the road like quaint, colourful, ornamental reminders of simpler times. Rooms are well thought out, filled with history and with enough mod cons to create a very comfortable stay. In the cottages is proper filter coffee and a jar of freshmilk. Not this packet nonsense that is so common. WiFi is strong and there is enough space to work on peace. The hotel itself is the grand old lady of Cradock and she bears her age well. The buffet dinner sharks back to the 60s where families gathered around the dinner table. Staff are attentive and friendly and our table of 7 had an excellent night. Add a stay here to your bucket list. You won't be disappointed. If only these walls could talk...

This is not the first time staying here but would recommend it to everyone who enjoys a bit of eccentricity and history. This lovingly restored street in Cradock boasts some 30 houses plus hotel to spend time in and have a blast in the past. Our host Lisa and her awesome team made each and every moment just that bit more easy and enjoyable. They understand every detail of what a person needs when travelling. The homes are warm, spacious and traditionally sexy. The meals were great and eating in and old Victorian lounge adds to the mood. The breakfast is sublime and the croissants epic. I wish them all the very best for their future plans. Hope to be back.

We loved our 3 night stay in October 25. We were offered a free upgrade to a cottage which we immediately accepted. The cottages are like the rooms only bigger with a living room and kitchen as extras. Although the cottages are on the main street there was no noise at night. The manor house rooms looked lovely too. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast each day and chose to eat in the Manor House each night as they offered a great 3 course meal. Starter and desserts were served but the 3 main courses were buffet style. Excellent quality food and value. HIghly recommend. Very close to Mountain Zebra National Park but much less epxensive and much higher quality accommodation Good security with fenced off parking and street patrols by nightwatchmen.

I really can't find many faults with this establishment. Check in was smooth and the room spacious and clean. And the decor is appropriate. Dinner was great and they catered for mt dietary requirements.

Die Tuishuise affords one a glimpse of old time Karoo prosperity, with the shiny wooden floors and beautiful classic furniture in the cottages. Finer touches of flowers on the fresh linen every morning and the decked table in the kitchen contribute to the wholesome atmosphere. The service is excellent and the staff friendly and professional. Don't miss dinner in the restaurant - the Karoo lamb is out of this world.

Wonderful historic accomodation in the heart of Cradock. We stayed in Lion House and it was like we travelled back in time. The hotel across the street provided delicious breakfast and dinner and we will be back for sure!

Absolutely lovely! We love the old style and feel of the well kept houses. A great touch are the antique items in and around the houses. Very comfortable and clean. Everyone friendly, helpful and accommodating to guest needs. Breakfast was excellent!
