The food here leaves much to be desired, chicken burger was dry (we asked to add some sauce after and they did so props to them for that) and the eggs in the shakshuka were very overcooked and also dry. The smoothie had way too much cinnamon in it but the coffee was decent. Beautiful scenic views saved this place.

We stopped in here for lunch on a Tuesday and chose to sit outdoors (but completely undercover) and on a beautiful Autumn day it was at least half full at 12:30pm. Lovely attentive staff, full table service with a drinks and separate food menu. I shared the prawn roll (cut in half on my plate) and the fish tacos with a girlfriend and the taco won hands down!! Combine the beach view, great food and a glass of prosecco and you have a fabulous lunch and we will definitely be back! 🥂

Great place to chill while looking at the view and relaxing over good food and it's pretty affordable for the location. I recommend it.

Good place with decent food and drinks. We went to the Kiosk side. To be honest, their main advantage is the location with the view on the Beach and a big terrace to sit outside. It seems very popular on weekends, so if you don't want to wait or want to get all the dishes served at the same time, it might be better to go somewhere else: my partner finished his food before I good get mine and he got his coffee even after. I liked the immunity kick juice (the quickest item served!).

Caesar Salad Reviewer

Google
I review caesar salads that I eat around the world, and I can say that the Diggies Caesar Salad was probably the best I've ever eaten!! Not only were the croutons crunchy, but they were also large, and the lettuce was so crispy. However, the star of the show had to be the amazing salad dressing, which was so tasty and paired amazingly with the rest of the salad! The parmesan cheese and egg, which isn't always a feature of caesar salads, were also a great finishing touch. 🥗 Caesar Salad: 5/5 🍳 Other Food: The kangaroo valley eggs on toast were also lovely, but the salad was the star of the show. Pancakes would be a great addition to the menu!! 🍹 Drinks: Great cocktails.

We have lived in Wollongong for many years and have had many great meals and drinks at Diggies however, maybe as it was valentines day, love was bedded into the chef and waiting staff and they all delivered such a memorable meal and night. Best meal we have had for a long while, waiting staff were exceptional and genuine all adding to a great date night. Good time to revisit date nights :)

I have been a frequent customer of “ Diggies “ at North Wollongong for some time now , always take sydney friends there . On Friday 23rd may , 2025 four of us went there for my daughter’s birthday . There were only 2 waiting staff , took ages to have our order taken , other patrons arrived after us , had their order taken and were served whilst we were still waiting , eventually our order was taken then 15 minutes later were told the “brioche “ buns were not available , make another selection . A nearby table was vacated , because the table was not cleared of food there would have been 50 pigeons there fighting for the left over food , they were “ pooing ” all over the table , I had to ask the waitress to clean . Then the most dreadful rubbish arrived , the beef burger was ordered without pickles , WHAT ARRIVED - pickles , the pattie was burnt , the meal was stone cold , we returned that , the staff just replaced the chips . The striploin streak was cold , there was not enough heat to melt the accompanying Dijon butter , chips were also cold . I ordered ham cheese and tomato toastie - WHAT ARRIVED - 2 slices dry bread , slice ham and cheese slapped on , NO TOMATO and burnt so much it was black , only fit for the garbage bin , I ordered hot chocolate , WHAT ARRIVED - Lavender Hot Chocolate All this rubbish cost $ 110.00 ., which unfortunately we paid Management are not interested , When my daughter was paying she commented our disappointment , the server wasnt very interested just saying he would pass on BUT invoice was signed out as Stan , which is the owner’s name - I continue to phone to speak to stan , Have asked for the owner to phone me , HAVEN’T HEARD.

Google
Food: Pancakes and Bacon - this was good. Portion was good. Bacon was okay too. No complaints. You sweet with this. 👍🏼 Fish and chips - more chips than fish. It’s okay if you really want to taste fish and chips again. Nothing spectacular. Chicken skin burger— i mean chicken burger is so thin! Tastes great but meat is thin. I don’t think it can pass as a schnitzel. Service: the food came out a while maybe 30mins. Not too bothered since the ambiance outside was good. Location was really great.

Yelp
This popular cafe is overlooking the area close to the Kiama blowhole, lighthouse, and beach. It was too windy when we were there, so we sat indoors. They were very busy, so it took quite awhile to get our food. I ordered the Big Reg breakfast. It came with pretty standard items, except no bacon or sausage, although my husband ordered a side of bacon with his. Everything was fluid, just not spectacular. Our son ordered the Blowhole Roll sandwich which came with a hashbrown. He enjoyed it. We all also had various coffee drinks. Since it was a public holiday, there was an extra surcharge added to the bill. The servers worked hard and were friendly.

Yelp
Great beach location and if you are free for their weekend breakfast --- you will not be disappointed. I was honestly shocked with the quality of the food here. I felt it was a great value and awesome atmosphere considering a similar place in Sydney (or even the States) would be more expensive. If you get a chance, their Mimosas are good :)

Yelp
Waited to never be acknowledged on arrival, a poor response once we got some attention, did not pass go, suggest you do the same.

Yelp
Waited an hour for very average, cold poached eggs on toast! Not worth the wait!

Yelp
I had lunch here today with a small group of friends. The view was absolutely wonderful and the cafe was clean, light and airy. I ordered a chickpea salad and fish & chips to share with a friend. The salad was fresh and tasty with just the right amount of each ingredient. The chips were okay, however, the fish was inedible- it was mostly over cooked batter. The lemon wedge was bruised and tattered. I also ordered an iced long black which strangely arrived in a small cappuccino cup. Despite the odd presentation, it was a good cup of coffee.

Yelp
This place can get a little crowded but the wait is worth it. Wonderful food, excellent service and the best views. What more can you ask for!

Yelp
Exactly what I needed and much better than I expected! I arrived here in Wollongong more than a bit weary and half-starved after a 14 hour flight from San Francisco followed by the 90 minute train ride and 15-minute walk to the beach. Flat white (x2) = delicious Eggs benedict = perfectly cooked eggs and a really good hollandaise on top of some kind of french bread with a crispy crust... and the fresh baby spinach was a nice touch. Location = can't beat it Price = think I paid around $24

Yelp
What a great location for a coffee shop. The coffee is delicious. Service is poor though. I had to chase up my coffee after about 25 minutes.

Yelp
We had just got in from Sydney and were really hungry. I had looked some things up on yelp and this restaurant came up! Definitely 10/10, it was so delicious and the staff is so friendly and accommodating for everyone. I would highly recommend!

Yelp
The food is ok, and the view is wonderful. But they need to do something with the service, especially it's such a busy restaurant at weekends. At first we were led to a corner where u can see nothing, so we asked for a change when there is an empty table. The lady asked us to wait a minute and cleaned that table. But several minutes later they tried to give that table to someone who just came in. We were annoyed and had to argue with them. The sea view is why we came here! We got the table at last, but the overall experience was largely impacted. May not come back in the near future.

Yelp
I had the eggs benny breakfast burger and fries, as well as a beetroot, orange, apple, ... Juice. I had it to go at the kiosk, it's the same kitchen as the diggies cafe. I paid 18 AUD. It was ok, it didn't live up to its reputation though. Local friends of mine recommended this place... It's the best place around and its at the beach, so I guess it's ok.

Yelp
Perfect breakfast hangout. Friendly staff, excellent coffee and usual breakfast offerings. All with a view

Yelp
I ordered a 2 x main salt & pepper squid @ $17 per plate when it arrived my friend & i thought they may have given us entree size I had never been served such a small dish of seafood. Once I complained to the staff they said this was a weight standard portion.... I was thinking (perhaps for kids) ?? I asked if I could speak with manager but they said he was on a break. Finally after complaining again they took the meals in the kitchen and gave us a mains adult portion. IF YR HUNGRY DONT EAT HERE

Yelp
Eggs Benedict and a flat white on the beach? Um yes please!! Had the chance to visit Diggies a few times when my husband was nearby at a conference. Diggies has a super chill beachy vibe and fresh comfort foods. Splurge and get something indulgent like a benny, or go healthy and try one of their kale salads - everything is delicious! Amazing quality espresso beverages as well. If you're there early enough in the morning during the Spring /Summer, there is free yoga on the beach too. Heaven.

Yelp
On the plus side, Service was quick and friendly. Great location. But Food was below average, poached eggs were hard, coffee was Luke warm. Burger was good, not overcooked to death. Risotto was just fine.

Paige T.

Yelp
The food was nice but service was extremely slow. Waited around 15 minutes just to order.

Yelp
My partner and I went to Diggies for breakfast on our last morning in Wollongong. We got the Semmi and Avocado Toast and were both very impressed with what we got. The coffee was amazing, the staff were very friendly and the service was quick. On top of that an amazing view over the beach. I just wish we had not waited till our last day to go so we could have gone back.

Colin P.

Yelp
While the location is good, the food is inconsistent in quality, over priced, the service is very slow and they don't provide wifi for the customers. I have been three times now, but now won't be returning.

Yelp
Diggies is in a terrific location right on the beach in North Wollongong with a very friendly and attentive staff. The menu is small but has a great selection and all the food we had for both breakfast and lunch was very well-prepared very tasty. I'd go there again anytime. They also have a full bar.

Yelp
Love, love, love DIGGIES whenever I'm visiting family in the Gong! So yummy, fresh, organic goodness. Their pastries are amazing and their fresh juice are amazing. I'm still dreaming stateside of going to the beach and ordering a Bug Zapper! Fantastic, great. place.

Yelp
Great location. A decent feed. Can be hard to get a table during peak periods, which can be annoying. and paying bills can take time at times and seems disorganised. I like to go here with company when I need to show off our beautiful beaches.

Yelp
Went for breakfast as reviews were really good. Highly disappointed. After order was taken waited for food for 1.5 hours. Once finally served food, meal was average. Asked waitress for sauce when handed meal and didn't get it until after we finished eating. Spent $60 for 2 people on breakfast and definitely wasn't worth that huge amount and waiting half the day for it.

Kathrina E.

Yelp
Great spot for a bite to eat with menu at reasonable prices ($15-$20). Fabulous location, right on the beach where activity and beach goers are. Customer service exceptional, always greeted and served with a smile. Highly recommend - fail safe option brunch/lunch.

Yelp
Great little place for lunch with a friend. It's a bit squishy but that's probably because it is always busy and full. The menu was fresh and appetising and the coffee good. The first time I went they unfortunately messed up our order and my meal never arrived. They were very apologetic so I tried again this time with no hiccups. Lovely position and it will become a regular venue for me and my girlfriends as it is for most of the mainly female patrons.
