Dillon's Burgers & Beers Restaurant

We were in the area, found this restaurant and decided to give it a try! It looks like a Dive Bar from the outside and when you go inside it still looks like a Dive Bar! BUT: The service was great, the food was great and the price was great!

One of those little gems you just 'wind up' in and one of those places where you wish you had more time to spend at. My guests had the steak and chicken which they rated very highly. My veggie burger was oil free and deliciously good. Great drinks and well-served. The atmosphere there is friendly and real. Now on our official pitstop list!

Dillon's Burgers is a fun local tavern/restaraunt. I have loved everything I have ordered there. The owners are very personable and offer good friendly service. It great place for snow birds and the locals.

Great local burger/bar place. Jim was outstanding, he managed the whole place by himself from bartender/ waiter etc.. Very friendly atmosphere. Great food ( delicious ) and reasonable price. I would recommend this place.

We have been here a few times, enjoy the local atmosphere, Matt Jenkins playing on Wednesday night, good luck as good. Did a Patty melt, beer and well drinks.. under $50 for both of us. Yes we will be back

Walked in and it was fairly quiet, except some customers who looked like locals at the bar. As soon as we came in we felt looked at and though we had made a mistake coming. We were sooo wrong, we were made very welcome, service was excellent (friendly and helpful with brilliant suggestions) , food and drink really tasty and good value value. When we walked out, the customers at the bar wished us a lovely evening. We left feeling like we'd experienced an authentic bar/burger restaurant and not a tourist trap. Would definitely return.

Best true dive bar in the Coachella Valley. The $7.77 cheeseburger and fries combo for early birds is a must.

I’ve been twice and both times were equally great! Food is really very good, granted it’s a small place so menus is limited of course but what does come has been amazingly good. The people are fun and decent people and waitresses have been amazing! Check the place out, it’s worth it!

We loved the laid back vibe, great service. cold beer, and food. We came at noon on a Saturday, all the tables were open, the bar had a slew of snowbirds, and a few biker folks at the outside dining patio area. We chose a booth across from the bar. I had the 1/2 pound burger, no cheese, no bun, slaw for the side and a Pick four romaine salad made with olives, carrots, tomatoes and cucumbers. My man had fish and chips with fries and he ordered onion straws to try. Everything was good. The waitress was a one-woman show running the bar and taking orders at tables - very efficient and keeping up with the lunch crowd that started to come in. Several snowbirds popped in for a quick iced tea and chat at the bar while waiting for their to-go orders. There is something endearing about a "hole-in-the-wall" "dive-bar", and I enjoy the comfortable unpretentious vibe.

This place was not it for us. We were visiting from out of town and chose this place for the ratings and I probably should have perused the pictures more, but the reception was horrible in the area. We have many restaurants in our city (burgers and beer/tacos and beer) that are actual restaurants. This was a dark, dingy bar with a couple booths and a smattering of tables. Before 4 PM the bar area was full of patrons who were drunk and were cussing loudly our entire visit. We had our young daughter with us so I can say for certain, this is NOT a kid friendly environment. It's very laid back and casual, like the bartender is eating a granola bar behind the bar kind of casual and where everyone knows your name kind of feel, but only if you're a regular. The food was mediocre and subpar to say the least, they don't ask you how you want your burger cooked because it's literally millimeters thin. $16 for burgers the size of a 2 year old's hand that we waited almost 30 minutes for, but you'll see what I'm talking about in the pictures. Completely disappointed as it was a very long drive for us and it will probably the only time we will be in Palm Springs, so I feel like this was a wasted opportunity. The food was so unfulfilling, we ended up going to jack in the box after!

I attempted to try this place recently with my family. We arrived about 15 minutes prior to closing in the evening, and were planning on getting food to go. We were refused service . I've never experienced that anywhere. Most businesses won't refuse service until actual closing time or will let you know kitchen is closed but you're welcome to order drinks. There were still lots of patrons dining and at the bar. But we were simply told we are closed, when I brought up I looked up business hours posted online we were told again no, we are closed and the staff person made hand gestures for us to get out!

What a cute little saloon! Service was quick, the locals were friendly, and the food ain't bad.

Much to my surprise, their veggie burger is one of the best that I have ever had!...and I live in the Bay Area and travel extensively. of note, I found out that their veggie patty is homemade. Very local place. We happened to stop by on a Thursday evening and it was full of people playing Bingo.

This place appears old outside, so my husband said to me, if we walk in and you don't want to stay, we could turn around. Well, we walked in and it was super dark, so it took our eyes a while to adjust. It's an old business, but they keep things clean. We both had the garden burger, veggie patty, and it was the best I've ever had. I've had many, so that's saying something. The fries were also in the top 10 category. This is going to be a regular stop when we are in the high desert.

Located in the oldest building in Desert Hot Springs, we could not pass up on their incredible burger deals. Service was very friendly and fast. Very family oriented restaurant with something for everyone. Our food was made to order quickly, and the portions were generous, a nice place to check out while visiting the area!

Love this place! Outstanding friendly service and fantastic vintage vibes. So glad we found this gem. The burgers do seem to default to well done, so speak up if you want something different. But mine was delicious and I loved my salad and real blue cheese dressing.

Burgers were alright- they do run well done so if you want something else let them know. But the 5 stars are for the server. She was fantastic, friendly, attentive and hustling with a lot of tables. She was excellent! Thank you

Don't judge a book by its cover. The food and service were much better than the curb appeal. Once inside I was getting the "dive bar vibe". However, I was soon served with the best bacon wrapped homemade jalapeño poppers I've ever had. The Philly cheesesteak sandwich had a good flavor, and the grilled chicken breast sandwich was cooked throughout, yet still juicy. French fries were a tad on the crispy side just the way my wife enjoys them.

I love the down home, local people and location on Dillon road. Good vibes and times.

The food was amazing here. I got the Everything Burger, and I honestly didn't even want to finish it because I wanted to save some for later, but alas I had to. It was that good. The server was super nice and really interactive with everyone, which gave the whole place a comfortable vibe. Since it's a bar-type restaurant, it had that classic "old spot where friends gather" feeling. Overall, just a really solid experience.

Great bartender, super friendly and welcoming. Awesome ribs! A casual place, but good food.

Amy the bartender was great, she makes a great Bloody Mary and was spot on with our food order requests.

First time customer, had a great time watching football and munching on delicious chicken wings. Barmaid was on the ball and zipping through the bar handling all the food and drinks, she is awesome.

We had some great burgers here, along with some lovely beers. The service was quite friendly, and the vibes of the place were on point, with some surprisingly talented karaoke singers. We ordered some mozzarella sticks as well, which were solid. The cole slaw was the only thing that didn't hit us for us, but everything else was good!

We have tried almost everything on the menu. Best place around for great food and service. Always very welcoming. We love coming here.

Back here again as it is our favorite dive bar in the desert. We took friends here to enjoy some burgers and beers. Beer is ice cold and burgers cooked to perfection. We had two half pound cheeseburgers and also two 1/4 lb. cheeseburgers with fries. Best burgers around. Love this place but it's not for the snobs from the city.

This is your typical neighborhood dive bar in DHS which I don't usually frequent but the other day I was craving baby back ribs so I took a chance & called them since it was Labor Day & some places weren't open. They had them & they were good! Never underestimate places where people gather to drink & eat!

Service - absolutely terrible. They were rude, they screwed up everyone's order, and forgot some items. Food - microwave quality. They didn't get a single order correctly. The meat was burnt. The lettuce was old and stale. The bread was soggy. I not sure how this place has such a high rating. Maybe because it's a small town and people don't have much to compare to, but this was terrible.

Found this little 'hole in the wall' on Google while in the area. Cute little restaurant/bar sweetly decorated out front in Southwest decor. Dim lights indoors, friendly staff. Since I had ordered by phone ahead, our food was prepared by the time we got there and still hot and fresh. Hamburgers and fries is what we had and we ate it outside in our travel trailer since we had our dog with us.

Raw chicken wings and cold Tator tots. Send back the wings and they replaced them with burnt wings, the place is dirty, sticky and just gross. The owners should be embarrassed and ashamed of themselves.

Food is pretty good, but good luck finding a time that they're actually open! I've gone at 4pm on a Sunday, I've gone at 6:15pm on Saturday evening, closed. The hours on the website are incorrect, total joke. I dont plan to go back, not because of the food or necessarily the service, I'm tired of wasting the time and gas to get there for nothing.

If you need a dive bar with an amazing burger & great music, this is your place! We sat at the bar and chatted with Amy, who was hilarious I'm not much of a burger person but when I am, I go for it. I got the everything burger and regretted nothing. Burger and beers, oh my!

When you're looking for a dive bar burger with friendly service, Dillon's got you. Came by for weekday lunch and was seated quickly. The pastrami burger was solid - typical patty with some pastrami layered on top. Won't be the most gourmet but it'll hit the spot. The bacon wrapped jalapeño poppers - nice dollop of sour cream in pre-cooked bacon still hits if you're looking for a quick app. Plenty of parking

Atmosphere 4* Bartender 5* Food 3* I upgraded to 4* although I suspect the food may vary depending on who's cooking, the guy on my visit was very fast but the burger probably could have come off the grill a minute or so sooner, nevertheless, I enjoyed the roadside attraction aspect of this little tavern near Desert Hot Springs. As rated, the bartender was really nice and sassy, which made my lunch break fun. Outside it's like a little barn, inside it's like a roadhouse whose pool tables got stolen (jk, there aren't any pool tables). Q. Tiny corner stage for entertainment? Yes Q. Vintage video games? Yes Q. Room for larger parties? Yes It's an experience! My Brisket Burger wasn't pretty, or especially well stacked but it hit the spot. A co-worker went there after I got back and reported that he enjoyed the Buffalo Burger, something that the bartender said was her favorite.

Although I drove past this joint several times a week, I didn't even consider stopping by due to its dismal exterior. But, when I was scanning a food article in the the New Yotk Times about the best burger places in America, there it was! It took me several months to convince anyone to try it out with me. I now have to admit to this plagiarizing, "Don't judge a book by its cover." The building has seen better days and needs some TLC. The floors are deteriorated and need refinishing. The closest thing to ambiance is the flickering beer signs lighting the walls - but I digress. The burgers are exceptional! And their prices are some of the most reasonable in the Valley. It has a full bar, that is filled with pretty colorful locals. The salad selections are pleasantly abundant, and they have a house cheese burger combo that is completely robust and filling. Their staffing is tight but crazily efficient. Oftentimes. just the bartender runnung the entire front of the house. And, they know their regulars. The crowd is mostly blue collar, but is very friendly to those of us in business attire.The bartender brings our usual beverages with her when approaching the table and asks us if we want the usual, which proves I, at least am pretty predictable. But, I've been very pleasantly impressed with their shrimp and chips as well as the BBQ platter. It is a hidden gem.

It's loud, it can get crowded, and that's what's so much fun! There was someone on the keyboard getting us to sing along to "Sweet Caroline," "Elvira," some Elvis, and so much more! He got people to get up and dance and enjoy! And then there's the food! I had the 1/2 pound Angus burger, which was wonderful. I had it with the Cole slaw, which puzzled my family, but was actually a good choice given the burger offered me the "heavy meal," which was completely worth it. My son had the brisket burger with tater tots, he really enjoyed. I did have a bite of the brisket, it was good but I think I'm more of a burger person. We shared an 805 from the tap, it pairs well with the burger. For the amount of food you get, the prices are extremely reasonable. We've been here before, we'll come back again!

A friend recommended this place and it did not disappoint! We ordered food as takeout but decided to sit at the bar and have a drink while we waited for our food. Drinks were great. Everyone one there was nice enough. Food was great!

A real hidden treasure for sure. I have lived here in Deserts Hot Springs for over 3 years and never knew of this fantastic place. The food was amazing and the staff were friendly and knowledgeable of the menu . Love the atmosphere as well, it's just like walking into a friend's home just to hang together. I will definitely be a returning customer.

First time there with my brother and food was great and the bartender/ server was a nice guy and fast.

I'm not sure if they're still open. The last several times I passed by, the only car in front is the Jameson Whiskey Mercedes Benz. Admittedly it's been a while since I stopped in. They have great food at great prices (I particularly like their onion petals). The bartender has usually been my server and has kept up with the bar patrons AND tables -- not an easy feat. It's not fancy, but a comfortable hole in the wall sports bar with pool tables.

Its a desert dive. And its awesome. Very friendly service, the burgers are great and the prices are fair. ​

I haven't been there for some time, but their burgers are to die for. Best taste anywhere, and the fry's are just as good. Everything is cooked fresh and seasoned perfectly. If you have not gone to Dillon's, take the time and visit. Love this place, unfortunately my health has prevented me from going there, I miss it.

It is what it is. Mostly a bar with karaoke blasting away on Friday night. If this is what you like, go for it. The hamburgers were ok. The server got my order right and that doesn't always happen. I give it 3 stars. But there is nothing wrong with it if you like that kind of place.

The food is really good. I orders the Hawaiian burger and it was everything I expected. Delicious. The fries were good as well. The service is 10/10 our server was great! The ambiance is pretty cool. They have a patio. The set up is giving dive bar . They have live music and things of that nature. The prices are very good so that's a plus. The restroom for men was very clean.

I am not a fan of bar food, but my husband is. I do love Dillion's if I have to have that kind of food. I wanted to post pictures but couldn't figure out how. Hubby got bacon wrapped cramecheese jalapenos and wings. Very reasonably priced. I got the blue cheese salad wedge.

We were in town for a birthday party so we decided to check out this local joint. Noticed they had pretty good ratings so we were looking forward to trying their food and drinks. When we pulled yup it looked like a typical local dive bar. We were hopeful because sometimes dive bars have the best food and drinks Walked in and the place was pretty empty. There was only 1 staff member, she was the server and the bartender. She was pretty friendly and very funny. We ordered a Bloody Mary but it wasn't very good. I ordered a bbq plate and it was also disappointing The ribs looked like it was boiled and was brushed with some bbq sauce at the very last second. I love supporting local independent businesses but this experience was quite disappointing. I hope they read this review and make some improvements. Otherwise we probably won't be returning

Good food at a dive bar?! YES! I had a BLAT and onion sticks (no more onion peels that you see in the photos!), which were essentially onion rings split into smaller pieces. The BLAT was an exceptional version of this sandwich (which, honestly is hard to mess up completely, but easy to make a mediocre version of) with perfectly toasted good bread, lettuce-mayo slaw, acceptable tomatoes, lots of sliced avocado and crisp bacon. The onions sticks were yum and it was a good amount as a side for the sandwich. My husband ordered the brisket burger and was surprised that what he actually got was a quarter pound cheese burger topped with brisket! He said that it was good and- for being two different Linds of meat- wasn't too heavy! The tater tots were on point, but the onion strings were a little better. The service was quick and they had a lot to offer their community! We dined there on Bingo Night with a good crowd of regulars. They also had baseball and football on the several TVs around the bar, there were a few arcade games (and pinball!) and the stage looked like they might host the occasional band. Seems like a fun local spot!

Quality dive spot, bar food and drinks are a bargain. Service is solid. The place is dark and construction slightly unsteady underfoot (not unlike many of its customers). Been there a half a dozen times and will keep coming back. They have old school pinball and sport TVs. Sell a strong vodka tonic for 5 bucks.
