We had a fantastic stay at Dimora Talenti. The location was perfect, our room was fabulous, the staff were welcoming and brilliant throughout our 5 day stay. Anything you needed was made available and breakfast was perfect, and with sea views. Secure car parking is available 10 minutes up the road. The view from our room is unforgettable. We would be happy to stay there again should we return. |Anthony & Suzi - Melbourne Australia.

Great location and a fine room for a quick stay. My husband and I spent one night here on our way from Athens to Matera and wish we stayed longer! The rooms are quite cramped - we stayed in a cave looking room with no windows on the ground floor. The room barely fits the bed and bathroom inside and it was nearly impossible to find space for our bags (we were coming off a destitution wedding + starting our honeymoon and had two giant suitcases with us). We ended up storing our bags opened up + slid under the bed. There’s only a tiny sliver of walking space through the room and the ceilings are low and rounded in that area so when I was showering and getting dressed my husband waited outside so that we would not be stepping over each other constantly. The humidity from the shower also fills the bedroom and then gets trapped inside the stone walls unless the bathroom door is always kept shut. Not a big deal, just a tip. The staff, location, and included breakfast were all lovely. We slept great and, had we come for a weekend with our backpacks instead of 4 weeks worth of luggage, we would have loved to stay longer.

The only thing this hotel has going for it is location. Rooms were not desirable or as photographed on website. Our bathroom was disgusting and the overhead shower did not work. We were told by Gabrielle.. the manager.. that the prior guest broke it!! It was not fixed until the day we were checking out. No compensation was offered and quite frankly.. he really didn’t care! I WOULD NOT recommend this Hotel!!

Pretty poor experience to be honest. We booked the standard double room after being wowed by the hotel’s photos and rooms… issue was, if you’re not checking clearly, the “standard double room” is actually a “small damp cave room in the courtyard overlooking live music”. Yes they had the photos so joke is on people like us who book quickly… but calling this ‘standard’ in any way rather than what it is, a storage closet, or even just put “cave bedroom” is the real joke. We bumped into another couple the next morning in a similar room they referred to as the “servants’ quarters”, and that just about sums it up. Aside from the damp and the noise, from having to climb over each other and having no headboard on the bed, we had to walk 10 mins from the parking, which isn’t exactly nearby, and you have to be out of there the same time as checkout so we weren’t even able to enjoy the surroundings for lunch. All in all it feels like another tourist cash grab where you can’t help feeling like you didn’t get what you paid for.

What a welcome to the South, and I mean that in the most negative sense possible. First, we were harangued on WhatsApp to provide a licence plate number before we even landed and then warned they’d charge us more if we came past 9pm. And this parking you have to pay for? It’s across town and you have to leave by 11am even though the lot is empty. Can’t even pay to extend. The front desk staff was inflexible and plain unfriendly. Then the room itself was street level on a noisy square. A repurposed cellar. We opened the door to the smell of damp and a huge moth. Moth wasn’t the last bug either during our short stay. Didn’t know I was paying €200 to stay in such pitiful accommodations. Could not WAIT to leave. I’ll add that breakfast was decent and the terrace staff were nice.

Booked a standard double room, as a last minute booking. The girls that picked us up in the golf buggy from the car park were lovely. Then we met a man at reception he was miserable before we even got to our room, showed us our room, the room was tiny, out to the alley on ground floor with no windows, it looked much bigger on the photos and it was not explained on the booking site that it was a cave onto the alley without windows, we said to the member of staff we werent happy with this room, he then became even more miserable and said we could move if we paid £100 extra, so that was £250.00 in total. We moved rooms as we could not of got any sleep in a room onto the alley. The next room was beautiful with a see view, however 6.30 am the next morning there were loud noises coming from above, we realised the room was directly above the dining area, the noise was awful. Talking of the staff and chairs being scraped on the floor. At breakfast the staff were lovely. So golf buggy staff and breakfast staff and view were the plus!

We had an excellent stay at Dimora Talenti, We were well looked after and very accommodating to mark a special occasion. The views were stunning, peaceful at night, perfect location in a central square where there a few cafes. The terrace on the top was great, we relaxed with reading and playing cards whilst in the evening sun - I would recommend the Campari Spritz! Breakfast , plenty of choice with fresh orange juice and really good coffee served in decorative mugs (attention to detail). Polignano was a beautiful town , lots to do and see. Highly recommend and will return.

Our hotel room had an incredible view, on a cliff overlooking the Adriatic Sea. Our room was a two level unit. The bathroom was small, but overall I would give it a 7 for cleanliness. The hotel provided parking at a remote location, but it was only a 10 minute walk to the hotel and they also offered complementary shuttles. The location was excellent right in the center of Polignano a Mare. Staff, specifically Gabrielle, was very helpful and responded to all our questions and needs.
