Food was absolutely delicious. The atmosphere was great, also kid friendly. Service was also good. Food took no time to come out. Desert was amazing, we had cheesecake. The parking was the only thing that sucked. We went on a Saturday night. It was very busy. I highly recommend eating here! I got 12oz new york strip and mashed potatoes. Steak was cooked perfect and was sooo flavorful. My girlfriend got a turkey burger with sweet potatoe fries and loved it. We cleaned our plates.

I ordered the western omelet The good- The eggs were fluffy and cooked perfectly. The home fries were also cooked perfectly. The staff was friendly. The restaurant was clean and inviting. While I was there the vibe I got was very friendly. Cost wasn't horrible. Bill for one was under $20 even after tipping at 25%. The bad- I'm just nitpicking, but the toast was a little burnt for my liking. Bread was rock hard and I had to butter my own toast which left my table full of burnt crumbs on my table. Overall experience was great. I would recommend eating here.

I think we've found Perfect bacon... So, my wife saw this diner on the way to our Valentine's dinner and we decided to go there for breakfast this morning. First off, the atmosphere is clean and modern, a very comfortable place to be. Our server, Angel was very upbeat and attentive. Our food was served quickly and arrived fresh and hot. I had the Ham 'Diner' Scramble and I will say the portions and ingredients are as good as they come. There were plenty of fresh vegetables, ham, and cheese cooked just right. The other half of the plate included the home fries which were a good mix of slightly soft potatoes with crunchy counterparts (I recommend a little salt and pepper across the board). We also ordered a side of bacon... FULL STOP there are things that I don't like about bacon, sometimes. Too chewy, too crunchy, too thin, too salty ... but I will say that when I ate this bacon there was NOTHING I did not like about about it. In fact, it is the best bacon I have had, to date, there I said it. If you just want a good breakfast and know you'll be happy, this is the place. We'll be back to enjoy the outdoor seating.

Google
Very nice restaurant with a diner feel to it. Hightops, booths, bar and table seating with padded chairs. Friendly staff and efficient. I had the Carolina BBQ sandwich with onion rings and my husband had a patty melt which he said was the best he had in years. We had a very large chocolate cream pie and a milkshake for dessert. Everything was very good. We will definitely be back when next in the area.

Google
I really like the fact that they have the terrace to be able to enjoy the summer weather eating out there. They also have some good options for cakes and the food is okay. I had their BLT, had been crazing it for a while, and it was good but I was a bit disappointed with it. The presentation and the size were a bit of a let down when I had had more generous portions and tastier ones at other places. I was so excited to have it and ended up a bit disappointed after it.

Went for lunch today. The roast beef Philly and chicken gyro was great. Good portions and great service! I also highly recommend the crab cake appetizer.

Google
The staff is excellent and the food was very good. Reasonable pricing with great portions. I got the mac and cheese with chicken and steamed veggies. It was super tasty and more than enough to take home with me. Mimosas were tasty with a good variety to choose from. Atmosphere wise I think it's very relaxed and between the beautiful green marble looking counters and the vintage women on the wallpaper it gives an old-school diner vibe. My only complaint is how congested it can be. That's nothin against the restaurant at all though. They are (understandably) busy but Saturday lunch with mimosas doesn't pair well with an unruly toddler thrashing in the booth behind me. All in all I would recommend it and will likely be back. Just got to find a time where they aren't as busy 🤞🏾

Google
Great food at reasonable prices. Our server, Elizabeth checked back often to make sure everything was good. I had the pork chop, my date had Carolina pulled pork. Both were very good

Yelp
Food is always good. I love the garden chowder and the Pot Pie. The salmon is amazing! The dessert menu/display is deliciously impressive. Wouldn't recommend for large groups. Great decor with bar seating available, as well as, tables and booths. Service is always prompt and friendly.

Yelp
Cutest diner with comfy booths and seating. The club sandwich was huge and tasted fabulous--especially the nine grain bread and thick bacon! Quick service and check out with Toast was a breeze.

Tamra M.

Yelp
I've dined here multiple times in each time is delicious. This was my first time getting delivery and my food was just as good as it would've been if I dined in. It was so good. I had to stop eating to make a yelp review

Warren S.

Yelp
Stopped by on a Friday evening for dinner, there was no wait and we were seated on the patio which was a nice choice thanks to the unbrellas, despite being 90 degrees! Drinks were strong (I had an aviator) and the food was served in less than 20 minutes. I had the mushroom wrap with sweet potato fries. Elizabeth (server) was VERY attentive to our table, probably one of the most attentive servers I've had in a while and it was much appreciated. We'll be back!

Gina D.

Yelp
I really liked Dinerbar, it's super cool inside with a retro vibe. They have a nice, friendly staff and good food. I was with a group of four on Mother's Day. They were pretty busy but the staff remained pleasant the whole time. They have a lot of vegetarian options, and plenty of breakfast, lunch, and dinner choices as well. They have a nice kids menu. They also have a full bar. Everyone in our group liked their food and we all want to go back and try their breakfast. Oh yeah, they also have a really nice patio that wasn't open yet but would love to sit outside and have a few drinks and some food.

Vicki C.

Yelp
Ate lunch by self which was ok. Manager came around to see if I needed anything. I inquired about the pies. After that my waiter Daniel r had a huge attitude with me. I waited 20 min then had to ask for a box. I called after I left to tell the manager. Her response was he never gets complaints..my guess is people just don't come back.

Ellen W.

Yelp
Unbelievably bad breakfast. My coffee was horrible. Vegetable omelet came with the vegetables were piled alongside the plain omelet, potatoes were half raw/half burnt. My wife had the Dinerbar Benedict and this was completely unacceptable. The eggs were hard boiled, bacon was burnt and the same half raw/ half burnt potatoes. The server took our order and never came back until he gave me the check. Not our first time here but will be the last. That cook obviously was not a experienced cook. Even if I'm going to a diner and not a four star restaurant I want edible food.

Julie P.

Yelp
Food hot to and very good.Ambience nice. Service great. The waitress was especially nice and attentive.

Danielle S.

Yelp
This is a classic brunch, lunch or dinner spot (weirdly I think I prefer dinner best even though that's not usually what you expect when you hear diner)! I guess that's why they call it Diner-bar. Anyways, I live for their side salads and ranch so catch me getting one of those to start every meal. Usually some cheesy bacon fries with sour cream too. I cannot be tamed up in here. Sometimes service is a little slow, I won't lie, so for that I'll stick to four stars. However the food comes out fresh, piping hot and never had a poor quality experience outside of a few overdone fries. That's pretty good considering I've been here about 10 times! I think it's just a matter of consistent staffing and hoping they get that figured out. Know it may be common to wait for ten min for a table to be cleared or get your drinks, but usually the food comes out snappy! I am all about their chicken meal which has a honey pecan glaze on top and served with green beans. This is a two person meal or a take home situation, but those mashed potatoes are also SO good. If you are like me and enjoy your mashed without sweet sauce, you can grab those on the side so the pecan juice doesn't drizzle on 'em. I'm a hearty vs sweet potato type of lover personally. We tried the chicken parm the last go around and it was a heck of a meal! This place may not be Italian, Greek or Irish, but they sure can do a little bit of everything! Don't be overwhelmed by the options (I know there are a lot) so if you want a sandwich get the Reuben, if you want a salad for your meal get the Greek with chicken, if you want a pita get the chicken, so good, and if you want pasta get the chicken parm. Oh yeah, and if you're in the mood for super hearty but not sweet, get the chicken pot pie! Hehe that's all from me... Enjoy!!!

Valencia P.

Yelp
Love the cool decor as well as the covered patio seating! Came by for brunch and was not disappointed. Food tasted really good and prices weren't bad either. We were big fans of the breakfast burrito and just the classic diner bar breakfast. Sat at the bar and had incredible service. Thank you diner bar! We'll be back.

Lenny G.

Yelp
The food was just okay, although I will say the artichoke dip was the best I've ever had. Breakfast items were just okay, and I want a fan of their take on corn beef hash. Service was excellent and the ambiance is a diner environment.

John O.

Yelp
The food and service here is above standard. The artichoke dip is worth the trip alone. The bartenders make wonderful drinks. My favorite is the Manhattan. The food is fresh and servers always friendly and attentive keep up the good work

Danielle L.

Yelp
What a nice little hidden gem. My husband recommended this place, and I'm so glad he did! Super friendly staff, a fun and eclectic vibe- kinda retro decor. We had bloody mary's ($10) and pineapple mimosas ($10)with our breakfasts. I got the crab cake Benedict ($16) & he got the veggie omelet ($11). My eggs were cooked to perfection. Fried potatoes a little over done for my liking. Can't wait to go back and try the lunch menu and hope for sunshine to sit on the patio !!

Tom R.

Yelp
I've eaten here before with no issues, but today I had a corned beef and Swiss omelet, and the corned beef was tough, like beef jerky. It was also very bland, lacking seasoning. I know I should have sent it back, and I will next time, but I just wanted to express my dissatisfaction with today's meal. However, please don't let this stop you from visiting Dinerbar. It's a great location with a full menu, clean environment, and a relaxing patio overlooking Clifton.

John R.

Yelp
The best. Great staff and food. Wonderful Lakewood institution and a destination for those who live further away.

G B.

Yelp
Legit good every time I've eaten here. Love the atmosphere and the people, music is solid as well. Always a great vibe here.

Raymond B.

Yelp
Terrible service. Server was very slow. Manager was quick to make excuses for it. Hadn't taken our drink order while other couples, who arrived after us were already seated and eating. Did not appreciate the service so we got up to leave. Manager on duty was very problematic. Asked that we pay for thr coffee. I gave her my card to pay for it, and her team tried to charge my card for something I didn't receive, but told me I was only being charged for coffee. In actuality, charged me for two meal we didn't received. Instead of arguing, I asked them to give me the orders. They finally brought them to us, but the sides were missing, so I had to go back inside and talk to a THIRD employee to get those. I used to love this restaurant. Still think the food is good, but the service has been up and down for me. Overall, I think IF I ever eat from this place again. It'll be through Doordash or Uber Eats...but as of right now, I'd unfortunately prefer to just go someplace else.

Greg M.

Yelp
We eat at the Dinerbar on Clifton when visiting my son in Lakewood. The food is well prepared and the staff is always friendly. I really can't recommend one meal l, because I have tried almost everything on the menu.

Sheena W.

Yelp
Another great date spot! Love their patio and cocktails! Plus they have happy hour from 4-7 during the week! They don't take reservations, but we did not have issues getting a table on the patio when we stopped in around 6pm on a Tuesday. We shared the artichoke dill bake which was only $5 during happy hour. It's some creamy goodness served with fried pita chips. I've been into cocktails lately so I tried out their spicy pineapple marg which was good, and then I think I had the pot of gold martini? IDK, it had cucumbers in it and it was refreshing and lovely. We did not eat dinner here, but every plate I saw them bring out looked delicious. I will definitely come back to try out a meal! Oh man, and we almost grabbed a slice of cake on our way out they all looked so tempting! The vibe is that of a hip updated diner. Service is satisfactory, (we were immersed in conversation so I didn't pay too much attention to our server). You might hear some road rage honking on Clifton right out in front of the patio since it is a busy street. There is a small shared parking lot in the back if you're lucky to snag a spot, or side street parking. They do close at 9pm, but if it's a nice night out you can walk over to Twist or make your way further down to Martini Bar to continue the night! Just be careful crossing the intersections, even though we had the walk light we were almost ran over twice! Although I'm pretty sure I knew that first one, she was pressing the gas on purpose... That second one, he stopped and apologized he didn't see us at first. Edgewater... dates, cocktails, risk your life, all in one night!

Evelyn A.

Yelp
Picked up a burger today. It was over cooked and the fries were mostly burnt. I used to love this place for breakfast. Definitely do not recommend for lunch. And service was slow just to bring my burger to the counter. Try Landmark next time.

Craig R.

Yelp
Great service (shout out to Chelsea, Kelsey and Taylor!), fun decor and excellent food especially for dinner. I love their healthy dinner--the Skinny--and their grilled chicken salad. So delighted this wonderful restaurant is near where I live (no car!)

Brandon F.

Yelp
Just had the Greek Salad, garden chowder and Chicken salads croissant with fries. Chelsea our server was fast, efficient and tasty. Treat yourself to some delicious food and great service.

Daniel D.

Yelp
Great food, chill and casual, great service. I had noted that I didn't want any dressing with my salad and the server was considerate enough to provide other options. Very appreciative.

Steven V.

Yelp
Love the location and the food has been great the last couple of times. There is a lot on the menu that i still want to try. The chicken philly was great but relatively small for the price. So far my favorite dish is the Grecian Chicken Pita. Definitely recommend.

Rick Y.

Yelp
I would give zero stars if I could. Servers are oblivious to their customers. We were seated and then completely ignored. Nuff said.

Cliff K.

Yelp
Had a great lunch with my sisters. I enjoyed the clubhouse sandwich and they had a Burger, In some salads. Everyone enjoyed their food and thought it was a nice place with good ambience. The staff were attentive and did a good job and the parking it can be difficult but when we were there it was available sometimes you have to park on the side street.

Dennis C.

Yelp
Best place to eat breakfast, lunch or dinner in Lakewood, OH! Servers are very friendly and very knowledgeable and helpful and always smiling. Today I had the Chicken Cobb salad, And it was perfect!... I come from Cleveland near downtown to eat here, I love the food, the decor, the music that they play, and the great service. I think most things are a little pricey here (just like every other restaurant, post-pandemic) but this place is definitely worth it.. it's all about the whole package of service, food and ambience, and Location. 5 stars, thumbs up, full belly!!

Kevin N.

Yelp
Dinerbar has a great aura around the space for a sunday morning brunch. The decor is funky and fun, there's giant windows which let in gorgeous natural light, and the food is a on brand for a classic diner with a modern twist. I was honesty conflicted on what to order, the brunch menu here is strong. It took all the restraint I could muster to avoid the brunch cocktails which looked amazing. I ended up getting a breakfast burrito. It had eggs and cheese and chorizo and came with a side of potatoes. It was very filling after my sunday morning workout!! Great way to start the day. My friend has the most delicious looking special: it was a french toast sandwich with egg and meat and cheese inside, and came with a side of fruit. I would love to check this place out for dinner sometime! I want to try their cocktails next :)

Yelp
On a lovely evening recently, my wife and I dined on their open-air patio right on Clifton Boulevard. What a pleasant setting and a delicious meal! Our server set us up with drinks and we settled in waiting for our two dinner meals...to be split (as always!). I chose the fish-n-chips, she ordered the Tuscan chicken breast. The meals arrived and we dug in. The two cod fillets were thin and covered in a panko style breadcrumb, but slightly fishy. Accompanying tartar sauce had just the right amount of tang from the capers within. Their fries were thicker shoestring style and fantastic...served with malt vinegar, hot sauce and ketchup. The cole slaw was fresh, crisp and covered in a heavy creamy dressing. The Tuscan chicken breast was a massive plate of food...a garlic mashed potato base topped with stuffed (prosciutto ham, goat cheese, sun-dried tomatoes) chicken breasts and a side of steamed spinach. The sauce was tangy and combining all three plated items into one bite was quite a flavor explosion. Pricing was more than fair given the quality of food (and experience), looking forward to a return trip...maybe for brunch this time?

Lenore B.

Yelp
Okay food, but a cool ambiance. It can get busy at times. The drink and food menu is quite expansive. I've dined here twice when in the area, and both times the service was on the slow side, but everyone is nice and the place is clean and cute.

Liz V.

Yelp
Pretty disappointed. A friend of ours goes quite frequently, so decided to order breakfast on DoorDash. After being delivered properly, the wrong order was received. I called the establishment and tried to explain the order. After being yelled at on the phone about how I received the correct order, I was transferred to the manager. The manger said she understood my complaint and that she would remake the breakfast for us to come pick up. Which is great. All we wanted was the correct breakfast. Upon pick up, they could not remake the entire meal, just a side of the corn beef hash... it's a 12.99$ meal. I guess remaking the entire meal was too difficult. Inflation these days.

Tammy H.

Yelp
Food is amazing. I have only done take out. It is priced a bit high but is so good. Only thing is one time you get a lot for your money and next time it's smaller.

Roy W.

Yelp
I have now visited twice. I wanted to try their dinner menu before writing up anything. I waa not disappointed!! I first visited for Brunch and the vibe was just a bit off. But going innthe evening for dinner was a whole nother ball game. Our server was extremely friendly and show some personality.....very knowledgeable about the menu and even made suggestions. I ordered the Shepards Pie and this dish was amazing!! Good Cocktails and they have Apple Cheesecake!! WINNING!!

Adam W.

Yelp
This place is great. Everything I've had here has been good - the food has matched the price. The service has been fantastic- friendly and quick. The atmosphere and outdoor seating are also great. I'm not sure why this place gets rated so poorly. For what it is, compared to other local establishments, it delivers exactly what you would expect and a little bit more.

Mary Lynn J.

Yelp
Great food. Probably the best chicken pot pie I have ever had. So, you might want to know why three stars. It is small, crowded and loud. I understand that now finding help is difficult and the way staff is stressed, but maybe the hostess should step in to help too instead of looking around. And the parking sucks.

Melanie N.

Yelp
I've passed Dinerbar countless times and always loved the look of it! I recently went for dinner to celebrate a friend's birthday and have mixed reviews. The decor is adorable! The patio was large and comfortable. The service was friendly and attentive. The menu is enormous and provides many options! Drinks were reasonably priced and tasty! I will say that the food, I ordered Honey Mustard Glazed Pork, was beautifully presented but the flavor was underwhelming. I'd be willing to try Dinerbar again and would try something different.

lauren e.

Yelp
Such a great spot! Loved our meal, decor is mod-cool-funky. Super sweet waitress that was helpful with my 1000 questions & they do have GF bread!

Agnes I.

Yelp
07 October 2018 - I enjoyed brunch here in early October. I never knew there was originally an old location that closed until they opened back up again. I like the location in Lakewood right on Clifton Blvd. I came for brunch and ordered pancakes with bacon. My friend Veronica, who was visiting from Columbus, ordered the french toast. We bought really enjoyed what we ate. The pancakes were thick and fluffy and the bacon was nice and crispy. My friend loved the french toast which were quite big and looked different than what I'm used to seeing (see my photos attached). I also ordered hot green tea and it came in a cute little silver water jug for hot water refills. Some earlier reviews that I read mentioned that the service isn't too great here but I had great service when I came. I came here around 12:30pm which is prime time for brunch or lunch. It was busy but the server assigned to our table never neglected us. She even came about 2 other times to check on us. I recommend this spot for local brunches/breakfast. They also have salads, burgers, appetisers, and so one so I'm sure you can stop on in for lunch or happy hour. Check out the menu in my photos below. Order the regular pancakes. They are fluffy and tasty. So far, I've only been here once so my rating is between 4 and 5. I will stick with 4.5 stars because I want to try other menu items but I enjoyed my breakfast and service was great. **** This is my 157th Yelp review overall. 111 total reviews for 2018.

Jennifer H.

Yelp
Food is great. Service is awful. There is no sense of urgency and customers get ignored. It's not because of short staffing. There are more employees standing around or smoking in the parking lot than working. There are several more restaurants within walking distance that have way better service.

Dana W.

Yelp
We decided to check this place out for breakfast. It was a nice experience and we really enjoyed being able to sit outside on the patio. The portions were quite large and the options on the menu were extensive. Overall the food was tasty and the service was good. We will most likely be back to try another meal. If you're looking for deals, the happy hour menu (4-7pm Monday- Friday) includes 1/2 priced appetizers, $1 off beer, and $5 cocktails (Old Fashioned, Manhattan, Martinis, Moscow Mules, and Paloma's). This deal is also offered late night from 9:30-11pm. Parking is limited to street parking and the entrance shares a driveway with a bank drive thru so you need to be cautious of your surroundings when entering.

Montaque L.

Yelp
Lovely place. Full of nostalgia & classic American food. Service was awesome. My waiter was very attentive to me & my ol'lady's needs. The dessert are amazing

Britt M.

Yelp
Have been back twice and gets better every time. Staff is super friendly and the lunch is good as the breakfast. Highly recommend

Sherry T.

Yelp
Went with 4 others after we volunteered for the North Coast Men's Chorus concert at Playhouse Square on Sunday. Everyone was happy with their sandwich. However my french fries were slightly burned as well as another's in our group. The others had house made chips and those too were overcooked. I mentioned that to our waitress and I also told her that I didn't see the sautéed onions on my burger and she didn't offer any response.

Warren H.

Yelp
We went for breakfast. We were pleased with the food, our server was wonderful, and the ambiance is delightful. Definitely recommend. Clean too. Glad we found it as we were from out of town.

Regina M.

Yelp
I feel like this goes without saying, but Dinerbar rules. Tonight we got takeout and I got the poke bowl. I was just gambling, giving it a try. OMG IT was amazing. The tuna was so fresh. Plenty of sauce and flavor / texture contrasts. I wasn't expecting this!! If you're in the mood for something fresh and hearty, you must try the tuna poke bowl.

Nicole M.

Yelp
Looking for A fun new place for breakfast, I took friends advice and checked this place out. I'm Glad I did! Our server Jason was great, we remembered him from a previous gig of his. And the food and atmosphere was great. I especially loved the carrot cake we took home. A+ ++++

Shawn C.

Yelp
Diner/ Bar I am not quite sure what to label this establishment both are in the name and it seems the proprietor had the same dilemma. Here is my breakdown: Diner food- no way, much better then a greasy spoon the name invokes. Bar - yes they have drinks, but they are much more thoughtful then just some bar drinks shlepped together. Regardless the name does not help its cause. For my visit I sat at the bar which was a treat, I was constantly attended to by the "bar tender" Jason V. He was not the hovering type but more observant than most. I can say my cola never went below 1/4 full, amazing service. Menu is what you would expect in a trendy cafe, vegetarian options, fresh local food, and cooked to perfection. I had the breakfast burrito, the scrambled egg filler was not overly cooked or dried out, the chorizo was obviously fresh though very mild in spice, add some graded cheddar in a spinach shell and a side of potatoes, salt and pepper to your taste ..... you won't be disappointed. The only issue is parking. The parking lot behind the building is shared by the bank is at a premium. I ended up parking on Clifton a block away, annoying yes but not the end of the world. Great place I'll be back.

Annie S.

Yelp
I've been here a few times for breakfast and dinner and the food is good. The prices are a little high for the quality. I just think the service is lacking and when I was there recently our server forgot to ring in our order and the food took forever. It was not busy at all so not sure how that happened.  My friend and I ordered the same thing, the Greek pita. I asked for no feta on mine but it still had feta on it when they brought it out. Also, when I ordered I said that I wanted fries with mine. Our server ended up charging me an extra $1 for fries and my friend got hers with fries but no upcharge. Disappointed in the attention to detail and being overcharged. I feel like they should have just stuck to being a breakfast spot.
