Take a Jurassic Road Trip To These 13 Dinosaur Parks

"A giant Tyrannosaurus rex stands alongside the Interstate outside of Cave City, Kentucky, letting visitors and passersby know that Dinosaur World is not far. An outdoor museum of prehistoric animals, Dinosaur World Kentucky helped this spot along I-65 earn the title of “best exit” by Southern Living magazine. Tourists can walk along a trail that winds through the forest and look for the various life-sized dinosaurs scattered throughout the park. More than 100 dinosaurs, each with an explanatory sign, can be found tucked among the trees. Its designers have also filled the grounds with faux dinosaur eggs and raptor claws. The park also has a playground and a fossil dig for kids. Parents and older children can relax in a covered picnic area while the younger ones dig for authentic fossils. There’s also a gift shop that offers a selection of eggs, fossils, educational materials, toys, books, and more. This Dinosaur World isn’t the only one in existence. It’s one of three—another is in Glen Rose, Texas, and one more is in Plant City, Florida. This park, and the two others like it, is the brainchild of Swedish businessman Christer Svensson, who moved to the United States in the early ’90s with his family and purchased a former alligator farm in Florida to create the first Dinosaur World. Svensson has been in the entertainment business for more than 30 years and knew a winning idea as soon as he had it. All of the dinosaurs models are made on-site by employees of the parks and measure up to eight feet long. They’re constructed using fiberglass, steel, and concrete." - ATLAS_OBSCURA

This place holds oh so many memories! Old and now new! We stopped in for a "redo" of a photo from 12 years earlier. This is an epic place for kids and adults that love dinosaurs. They're not interactive.. so, the younger crowd tends to appreciate them more. We had fun sharing our memories and making new ones! If you're in the mammoth cave area, most definitely recommend!! 💚

Upon arrival I was thinking it was all inside a small building. The gift shop is the first part where you purchase to enter the trail. Definitely wasn't expecting that amount of walking. That was the great part about it. The trail is about a mile and a half or two. The worse part the 🦕 🦕 🦕 doesn't move or make sounds. There are places to rest throughout the trail. And I'm pretty sure there's cameras in the eyes of some dinosaurs 🦕, so keep those kids off the dinosaurs as they ask. If it had a little more animation this place would be a 5/5 for me.

It's pretty cool... especially when you have 5 kids and 3 of which are dinosaur crazy. Most of the information signs need redone although they are readable for the most part. Had a great time and will most likely be back when passing through the area

Dinosaur World looked kind of silly but when you go through it and read all the information they have, it is really quite well thought out. They have lots of good data and fun activities for kids and adults. We chose the fossil dig...there were more adults than kids digging in the sand everyone having an awful lot of fun! As a retired teacher and someone who needed a diversion from driving, this was worth the stop. Plus we got to keep 3 of the fossils we found and the guide told us what each was. Very cool.

We took our 3- year old dinosaur- loving grandson. The exhibits are dated, and the museum displays were blah, with many displays as replications. We felt the tickets were overpriced, paying around $45 for the 3 of us to get in. There are lots of large dinosaurs on display on a trail. Most of the trail is paved, but it is up and down hills. May be challenging for someone with mobility issues. There are benches along the path. He really enjoyed the play area.

Awesome place to stop for an hr or two on our yearly road trip Chicago to Atlanta. The kids can run around outdoors and get some excersize on the playground. The gift shop is not super overpriced like many tourist places. The dinosaurs are life sized and tucked into the woods, kids LOVE it!

A little over priced if you ask me but my 6 year old loved it! It’s a neat experience if you’re in the area! We did the extras such as digging for fossils and mining for gems. Overall we spent almost 2 hours there which was plenty of time.

Definitely a fun for all ages, the walk is an easy pace and wheel chair accessible, the Dinosaurs are so interesting and the have plaques explaining what kind they are. The gift shop has something for everyone.
