11 Best Hotels in Mykonos

"Above the beach in Korfos Bay, on a narrow isthmus in the south-west of the island, brightly colored kites fly through the air like brilliant birds of prey hitching on a thermal. The beach below may not be the prettiest on Mykonos, but its horseshoe shape and exposure to the northern winds make it one of Europe's best spots for kitesurfing. How clever, then, for born-and-bred Mykonian George Syrianos to turn the land where he once grazed his goats into the first hotel on the island aimed squarely at wave-riders. It's a laid-back, hands-off, DIY kind of place where all eight suites are accessible straight from the beachside pool area, meaning there's no lobby to drag your board through, no carpets to drench with your kit. Unsurprisingly, this chilled approach goes down well with young families, and the interiors are fittingly pared-back and solid; whitewashed rooms are made homely with chunky wooden furniture and gauzy curtains. There is no restaurant, but simple breakfast baskets are delivered every morning, and each suite has a fridge and hotplate to prepare meals using ingredients from the cluster of shops at the other end of the beach, which include a couple of good bakeries, an independent butcher, and a surprisingly chic fishmonger. For more sheltered sunbathing, the bars and daybeds at Ornos beach are a 10-minute walk away on the other side of the isthmus, and Mykonos town is just a 10-minute drive. I had a wonderful time! The hotel staff was incredibly accommodating and fulfilled absolutely everything we asked for. The rooms are spacious and beautiful. A very pleasant stay overall. Special greetings to the lovely ladies at the reception!

We had a terrible experience at this hotel! On the first night, there was a cockroach in our room. The hotel staff refused to move us to another room, even though we saw that there were vacant rooms on the website. The staff member told us not to worry and that she had seen the same cockroach in her room that morning! At 11 p.m., they simply sprayed some smelly cockroach spray in our room! It was a terrible night. It also says that breakfast is at 8 a.m. The staff only slowly start bringing everything out at 8 a.m. and by 9 a.m. they only bring out the last items. The photo below was taken at 8:30 a.m., half of the dishes are missing, there isn't even any juice or water yet!

The beach, about 80m away, was heaving and noisy. The food coming out of the beach bars looked unappetising so we ambled up to Dionysos Luxury Hotel.||Great choice.||You know it takes real skill to knock out a perfect pizza. Whoever was in the kitchen, did exactly that. There's no choice, they offer one pizza. Crispy base, juicy top, hot and ridiculously tasty. Add that to the Greek salad and it's your calorie intake for the day. Well, that and the beers. ||The management very kindly let us sleep it off poolside. ||Perfect end to a Sunday.||No photos, ran out of battery, but it really looks a classy, unpretentious hotel.||We are going back to have a closer look at what's on the menu...

The hotel is newly renovated and located just a short walk from the beach. Daily cleaned and the stuff always friendly. We had a very comfortable and pleasant stay — highly recommended!

It looked inviting as we walked down to the beach. A different level to everything we passed. Quality. On a Sunday in June, the beach was packed and noisy. The restaurants pumping up the volume as if it was a fairground. Scream if you want to go faster. Not for us, thanks. We walked the 125m back to Dionysos and had a civilised lunch served by people who actually made you feel welcome. The great unsung hero is the chef who prepared the pizza. Eat-in standard, not takeaway. We are going back

Perfect location out of the way yet in touch with everything you need. Hotel is great, tidy and clean room with nice space to chill out in the sun. B&B was perfect for us as we like to explore (several places to eat and drink and night within walking distance)

Had a beautiful stay here at Ornos. Great location right next to the beach with easy connections into town and other beaches. Friendly staff, really helpful with recommendations around the island for restaurants and beaches. Can’t wait to come again!
