Dionysos Taverna

It is a hidden gem right by Vikings disembarking dock. Waiter and waitress are awesomely friendly and professional. Menu selection is huge but all so tempting. Wish we can stay for another week to sample our favorites. Restaurant has been around for 35 years according to Ramon but meticulously maintained in pristine condition. Must visit every trip to Beautiful Budapest. The experience would be perfect if dishes were served one at a time I mean appetizers followed by soup then main.

The food was very tasty, the portion sizes were large and the aesthetics of the design and food are noticeable. The restaurant is clean and authentically decorated. The waiters were courteous and aware of anything that was missing from the table. Highly recommended.

I’ve bern there last time probably 15 years ago and thought I give it a try but was disappointed by the quality of the food. Any newer Greek restaurant is better these days. The pork was super salty, fair enough we got it refunded, the gyros was extremly chewy, the fish was alright, so was the lamb. The potatoes were super soggy, the tsatsiki nothing but a garlic joghurt really. Prices are extremly high, a plate with gyros, salad, pita and a bit of Tsatsiki is 6.700ft… more than 17€. Ridiculous! A dinner for 5 persons (one ate the gyros, one just a salad) was nearly 75.000ft, including a genorous precalculated tip. That’s nearly 200€…. I have been to Greece the last 3 years and this restaurant is nowhere close to a good Greek taverna.

A breathtaking restaurant! Every detail is so thoughtfully designed. It’s a complete experience, from enjoying delicious Greek food to being fully immersed in the local atmosphere. I’ve never seen a Greek restaurant like this before. Everything was a 10/10! I do highly recommend it

Discovered this lovely restaurant just out of chance . We were looking for something to eat but everything was closed . They stay open till 12 which is so handy in a busy city . The food was wonderful and fresh . Service was amazing and the decor is stunning .

Excellent Greek food in Budapest! The service is very good, and the atmosphere feels like being transported to a traditional Greek city. Servers speak multiple languages (Spanish, Hungarian, English, and more), which makes the experience even better. Only small detail: they could improve table monitoring and remove dishes on time without being called. Overall, highly recommended!

Food was traditional greek. Really tasty. Nothing to complain about. Beautiful restaurant. Staff was kind and you always receive some gifts like little appetizer or rose for your wife. Modern but also traditional Greek restaurant. Almost as if you cut it out of Greece and put it into Hungary. Prices were little higher but I think that’s expected because of quality and location.

Amazing Greek experience in Budapest! We had a wonderful experience at Taverna Dionysos Greek Restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious, fresh, and full of authentic Greek flavors. Everything we tried was excellent. I would especially like to highlight the outstanding service from István, who was incredibly attentive, kind, and welcoming. He made us feel truly comfortable and well taken care of throughout our visit, which made the whole experience even more special. We really loved our Greek dining experience here and would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Budapest. We will gladly come back!
