Dirt Flat Campground

Very beutiful spot by the river. Friendly camp host. Restrooms are not flush, but clean. Biggest downside is the noise of cars driving by.

Dirt Flat is a small campground having 6 to 7 non-electric campsites. The campsites and the restrooms are really well maintained and the natural surroundings are also really beautiful. It is on bank of river. Only dowside is that you might feel a bit aloofly as it is a small campsite and especially if there are no other campers. Also there is no electricity, no dedicated ranger and no cellphone signals. Might not recommend for first time campers, but if you are a seasoned camper looking for a quite place in nature then it is a really good campsite.

Located next to the Merced River. Campsites vary from large to small. Bathrooms are nearby and well maintained. I believe there's 5 spots. The first three are large to medium sized. Last two are small. The sandy beach on the river is about a quarter mile. It's best to drive if you're with very young kids or older adults. I mention the sandy beach down the river because the area of the river the campsite is on is very stony. Boulders and slippery rocks dominate this part of the river. Walking in the river is hazardous around this area. Best to go to the sandy beach. You'll thank me. You're welcome.

Our reservations were canceled hours before check in with no explanation. By email. There’s no way to call or speak to a human. It took a lot of digging to find out the campground was closed, but weren’t able to find out why.

Stay here 2 nights in a row in my vechile and loved it!! Great location and easy access into Yosemite.
