Let me tell y’all about Dirty Coast, this badass little t-shirt outfit down in New Orleans. They kicked things off back in 2004 with a simple mission: make local gear that didn’t scream, “I got this at the airport gift shop.” You know, no jazz-playing crawfish or whatever. Just cool, authentic stuff that actually gets what NOLA’s all about. Then Katrina hit, and it wasn’t just about selling shirts anymore. Dirty Coast became a whole damn vibe—a way for folks to say, “Yeah, this is my city, and we’re still here.” Fast forward almost 20 years, and they’ve got 400+ designs that nail the weird, wild, and wonderful spirit of New Orleans. Wanna flex that you know what a neutral ground is? They’ve got you. Dirty Coast ain’t just slingin’ shirts; they’re bottling up the magic of NOLA so you can take it wherever you go.

So many cool things in this shop. The children’s books and plushies were local themed and cute. Bitter Southerner magazines and books. In love ❤️

If you ever find yourself in this hood, you should pull up and visit this store; they got the best selection of gifts in NOLA.

Google
Such fun products you won’t find on every corner. This should be your go-to spot for gifts. I no longer live in Louisiana but that doesn’t stop my gift giving brilliance because Dirty Coast has Fast shipping & Great packaging. They don’t sleep on any details.

Memorable gift store that sells unique souvenirs for the area. The store is really well designed, clean, and welcoming, which makes for a fun and exciting shopping experience.

Very cool store with some neat NOLA-themed goods.

Google
Such a fun place! Unique and on point too. Humorous gifts/shirts. Top tier cookbooks for Cajun and Creole/NOLA locals. Love the artifacts and the cool jewelry. Appreciate that many items support local needs and communities. I’ve been to three of the stores each is a little different but all are high quality.

Yelp
Aside from this store being extremely nice and in PRISTINE condition, the customer service at this location was above and beyond!!! Ash was so friendly!! She answered all the questions we had and chatted with us like we've been friends for years. (We LOVE a good giggle session.) This store has always had fun products that are made well! And if you're just strolling down Magazine, it's definitely worth the trip in even just to read all the funny shirts and stickers!

Yelp
Love this local shop! They have everything from kids toys to cafe du monde clothing! They support local and have some of the coolest gifts and souvenirs. The staff is really friendly and they love to chat about their prized throws from Mardi Gras that they display in the store. Very cool vibe and great gift ideas! They even have an area for kids to okay with some of the toys they sell. That was such a great idea and so nice for them to offer this. Great spot!

Yelp
I visited Dirty Coast while looking for souvenirs on vacation. All of the souvenir shops in the French Quarter were expensive and cheesy, so I decided to venture out to Magazine St. and found this cute gift shop. Dirty coast has so many high quality New Orleans themed shirts, posters, patches, pins, hats, keychains and so much more! I bought three t- shirts and some pins and patches. The products are a tad overpriced, but the shirts are so comfy and hold up wonderfully. I definitely recommend this place if you're looking for unique gifts and souvenirs.

Yelp
Cute stuff, and a sweet and helpful clerk in the store. Was a little limited in items to buy, but other than that worth a look!

Yelp
Pandemic update I stopped in to pick up a desired tshirt for one of my brothers. And high marks to DC for keeping people safe in a small store. Obviously the merch is great. Locally made and inspired gifts as well as the great tshirts/bags. Sometimes I know exactly what I want from the online shop stalking but others times I'm browsing, especially if you decide you need a candle. I mean... what exactly does that satsuma snoball candle smell like? I got what I needed and rolled on out. Masks were required and shopping felt safe.

Yelp
I have been wanting to come to Dirty Coast for some time. I live in the Metairie, and lately haven't found much reason to come in recently. But I made the decision to come on over and hit this and a few other businesses in the area. I purchased the Bernie shirt they had as a fundraiser for the local food banks, and even more recently a t-shirt for fundraising for the local area affected recently by the tornadoes. I finally made it in. There is no dedicated parking lot, but there is plenty of street parking nearby. The employee working when I came in was very friendly and helpful. I was able to get a few t-shirts and am very happy. I look forward to coming back in the future.

Yelp
I love Dirty Coast. I discovered the French Quarter location 5 years ago while there for a wedding, and have now been to this Magazine street location a couple times since then ( excited for their new flagship location to open). This is hands down THE gift shop for your hip, designy friends who enjoy some inside humor and snark. I've bought t-shirts, lapel pins, and patches. All very high quality, and well-designed. And the last time I was in, an employee taught me what 'lagniappe' means. I feel like a NOLA insider now. Watch those potholes!

Yelp
When I say there is no place like Nola, I mean it. There is no place like Nola. Dirty Coast is one of those locally owned places that will make you a believer in this very accurate fact. Excuse, I don't mean to be rude but I want a Big Freedia in my pocket. You already know. I am a New Orleanian WHEREVER I am. Yeah, I'm in that number. I do what I wanna and I listen to my city. Dirty Coast is the perfect souvenir shop for tourists. Stay away from those awful t-shirt shops in the Quarter yall! If you want real New Orleans go to Dirty Coast. The t-shirt designs are so us and authentic. I also love (with a capital L) their prints. I purchased a few of them for some very special people in my life just recently for gifts. The New Orleans Water Meter door mat is genius and I want one! They also have adorable kids gifts too. A sippy cup that says "My first go cup"? Yep, every baby in my family will have one. Do your kids ever wonder what the sleepy animals do at the Audubon Zoo? Well wonder no more, little ones. Dirty Coast has a adorable picture book that will answer dat. So go represent the 504 and get yourself to Dirty Coast. They ARE New Orleans.

Yelp
I love all things Dirty Coast! I have been buying shirts from them for years. The employee's are always friendly, the variety and stock quite large, and a lot of non-clothing items to choose from as well. I have bought several of their shirts for family and friends as gifts. I just pre-ordered a new design by them, and I'm sure when I go to pick my order up I'll end up buying something else :)

Yelp
Dirty Coast has always been a go to spot here in New Orleans. They have New Orleans themed shirts, socks, toys, stickers, masks, posters, etc. There are so many unique, niche, locally themed gifts. My favorite is the crawfish boil kids toy! I love going here and understanding all the New Orleans references and designs. It is truly a New Orleans gem. The people here are great too and very helpful.

Yelp
Looking for some sort of Louisiana swag to war or gifts for fans of NOLA? Dirty Coast is the place for you. Even if the answer is no to fashion and souvenirs, any visit to New Orleans is worth a stop here just to peruse their designs. The store itself is small but well maintained. The store looks like a mini-home, less much like a retail store that one would find in a mall. If the place has more than 8 people in it, it's already going to feel crowded. Thankfully, the people traffic here is never too overwhelming. Dirty Coast has been in operation since 2004, creating witty material that makes the place something like a NOLA themed Urban Outfitters. Selection wise, it's a hodgepodge of stuff that varies from fashion items like t-shirts, tank tops, kid clothes, to small items for fun gifts / memorabilia. Shirts are about $25 each and the smaller items are between $4-10 typically. The people working here are typically young 20 somethings and they're k knowledgeable about the clothing and the new changes that come with the seasons. Parking can be a challenge at times and they take credit cards.

Yelp
These people are legit! Ordered my decals, that they ran out of, Thank You for contacting me when they came in! While ordering my decals thought I might as well get my grandson's some t-shirts. Great quality super easy to order and super fast shipping! If your looking for some NAHLINS things look here!
google avatar

Yelp
My friend Jackie is a fan of Dirty Coast. She ownes a few of their t-shirts. It's a locally-themed t-shirts place that also carries koozies, greeting and holiday cards, ball caps, kids t-shirts and many other NOLA themes gifts items. I almost forgot about their mystery t-shirt in the tube they have to sell also. Keep in mind that these are not your regular local T-shirts, it's local-themed T-shirt with clever cool designs. I love their location because it's directly across the street of Whole food!

Yelp
Dirty Coast is definitely a place to get Nola style printed t-shirts. The store has a collection of popular stuff such as coozies and art pieces. They appear to stay busy as people were coming and going constantly. My favorite product that I saw was a toy crawfish pot with all of the accessories, absolutely adorable. I only gave 3 stars because the place is very small, making it hard to look around comfortably. Most people were in and out quickly but I like to browse. If I want a specific shirt in the future, I would come back here.

Yelp
Had a great visit to New Orleans a couple weeks ago. Bought a postcard for my Mom but could not find a stamp to mail it. As we were leaving Nee Orleans I asked lady working the Dirty Coast shop in the New Orleans Airport if I could pay her to mail my postcard. She said she absolutely would mail it but refused to take any money. Great customer service and great representative of New Orleans hospitality! Get you some Swap Ass gear today! -Greg T...

Yelp
FACTS! We arrived at this location a few minutes before close. Nevertheless, Aaron and DD took AMAZING care of us. They truly went above and beyond, even encouraging my wife and I to try on a few of the things that we were curious about buying and giving us their honest opinions. The shop was clean, easy to navigate, and the atmosphere was friendly. Dirty Coast is beyond merchandise; it's an attitude, a self expression, a mind set. Their shops have become a highlight for us every time we visit NOLA:)

Yelp
Really great selection of unique tees, found the perfect shirt for my friend's son. Friendly staff.

Yelp
These people are the most accommodating and helpful group I've encountered in a long time. I live out of state and have had weird request for shipping or hold and pick up on several of my orders. Every time they've met my request and were 100% accurate in fulfilling my order. They should teach customer service to the rest of the world!

Yelp
The is the 3rd location for this local NOLA business. I love their shirts and the offered designs. Bought my first shirt from them to support the 2016 flood relief here in south LA and in checking out their website really liked the shirt designs and when I got an email telling me they'd opened a new store on Royal & Orleans I knew I'd have to check it out next time I was in NOLA... Took my kids to the Beignet Fest and with the crowds overwhelming decided we'd roll on to the Quarter and I could feed them kids and check out this new location... Had 1 person working the shop and she was friendly and helpful and got a kick out of the fact I was wearing a Dirty Coast shirt...did some browsing and picked up another shirt and a hat for myself...The daughter found one but they didn't have it in Xtra Small (must be nice to have that problem)...but the staff made a call to the main location to only find out they were all out of x-small in the design my daughter wanted...but they took my info and I'm confident I'll be hearing from them shortly so I can get that shirt my daughter was in love with... If you're in the Quarter or over in the Marigny or hanging out on Magazine stop in and check them out...Quality shirts, NOLA made!

Yelp
As long as Dirty Coast has been around, you would think they would get wise to size stickering their shirts to make shopping easier and more expedient. We were in the market for new Saints gear so we headed to the Magazine shop. The shop had a group of 5-6 people with the same idea, who were staring around waiting for help. The idea is that the clerk will pull sizes for you since they simply stack sizes in large bundles on the shelves. The average joe would have no clue to find their own size so this falls on the clerk which bogs down the entire shopping experience, especially if it's busy! We nearly passed on buying a shirt altogether because his first choice didn't have the size we needed available, and it was only by chance that I noticed her "what size do you need" comment was actually directed at us. So after waiting for help, we waited to check out (because she's helping pull for everyone else) and then during checkout, the phone rang and we waited for her to finish that conversation before we could complete payment and go. If they would size sticker and fold their shirts to enable customers to handle their own experience, not only would they not lose sales, but they wouldn't lose customers either.

Yelp
For the discerning person who knows there's a world of NOLA T-shirt sayings better than "I got Bourbon on Sh*t Faced Street," and the cool thing is that even if some of the sayings/slogans and images seem too obscure for a souvenir, there's plenty of more familiar-to-the-masses T-shirts that are creative and funny. These shirts are made really well and aren't your typical Hanes Beefy T, y'know? Ladies shirts are a soft, thin cotton- even V-neck and beater varieties, and can I get an AMEN for no cap sleeves that would make even Lara Flynn Boyle look like she has fat arms?! My favorites: It's Not Beautiful being Easy West Bank Pho Ever Come Hell or Bywater (love the shotgun house image on that one!)
google avatar

Yelp
This store is everything a T-shirt shop needs to be! I'm a T-shirt junkie so I probably buy one of these every 2 or 3 months for different occasions like a Pels game, music festival, baby showers, or some lagniappe soft T just for the hellavit. All the designs are displayed easily for you to see what's in stock, and the clerk is always there to help you pull your size from the pile without messing everything up (my worst fear in such an organized shop). I think they also have a discounted discontinued pile that's not too shabby. I would say make sure to try on or check the sizes because for different types of shirts, they range and you're usually gonna rock one bigger than you normally do, IMO. I just recently discovered that their baby T's (no not the T-shirts you wore in the '90s, the ones for actual babies) are uber affordable, as are their baby bibs. The staff again was very helpful in talking baby sizes with me; a definite unchartered territory for me. I got a T and a washboard bib for a friend's shower feeling pretty swell about my uniquely New Orleans gift. There are also some fun little gifts by the counter, but I like that they stick to what they do best as a T-shirt shop...And there's always free stickers. Yeah, ya right! Parking is a little bit of a b, but (though not advocated/recommended) I can usually park pseudo-illegally, get in, and get out on a weekday if I check out the designs online and know what I'm running in for...or else you'll just buy up the whole store.

Yelp
Coolest little NOLA made T-shirt shop across from the Whole Foods on Magazine. It's fun to come in and browse the fun shirts on display. If you're not from the area, some of the mottos on the shirts may confuse you but just know everything is in good fun and you shouldn't take life too seriously! Not only do they have shirts for adults but also for kids and some cool art prints and other memorabilia. Loved the black and white print showing how to properly assemble a bloody mary. Only in Nola. :) They also have dog treats for purchase but they were made with "wild nutria meat" which startled me at first but I had to remember "Only in Nola".... Don't forget the discount bins and mystery t shirt bags for sale. Most of the sizes were in the XXXL range but still doesn't hurt to check. If you're from out of the area, they also have a website where you can purchase from the privacy of your home. They have a pretty solid social media presense so definitely check them out on FB, Instagram, etc.. On a side note, it is a little warm in the shop . Probably a mix of not running the AC on full blast or just the humid weather. Just felt slightly unpleasant after walking around in the hot sun.
google avatar

Rachel M.

Yelp
OK, so their merchandise is totally adorable. Great selection. Just bought my nephew a few NOLA t-shirts, a NOLA alphabet print, and a toy crawfish boil set. All very cute and very appropriately priced. But, more importantly, a few days after I placed that order and one day after a major hurricane hit the city, I got an email from the owner thanking me for my business, asking how I'd found out about the store (perhaps triggered by my NY-based billing address and CT-based shipping address - I'm NOLA-raised though), and wishing me well in the pandemic. Maybe they do that for everyone, maybe it was automated but, regardless, someone thought to do it. That kind of personal touch is what NOLA is all about.
google avatar

Adam M.

Yelp
I really liked the designs of the shirts and ended up purchasing one. Unfortunately, after 1 wear (and before I even washed it), the thread along the bottom seam ended up coming apart (see photos). I contacted Dirty Coast, who told me that they will not replace my shirt as it has been worn already. When charging $25 for a shirt I feel the company should be willing to stand behind their products. While the store is nice and they have some great designs, be aware that the quality of their shirts seem to be very poor and they do not have any sort of reasonable refund / return policy.

Yelp

Yelp
Dirty Coast is the number one spot for locals, and tourists alike. T-shirts, posters and stickers etc... Inside Louisiana jokes, secret Cajun handshakes & NOLA winks are what it's all about. Y'all must check it out, hows ya Mom & Dem!? Ya Heard!
google avatar

Yelp
Today, I researched online stores that have New Orleans themed t-shirts and came across this place. The selection is decent and I ended up purchasing two t-shirts. The cashier, however, was so rude! Maybe she was having a bad day, but that seemed to be her personality. She made it seem like ringing each person up was an imposition and an interruption to what she really wanted to do. When I showed her my coupon - 15% off for checking in on Yelp - she rolled her eyes and sighed, as if this was just another problem she had to deal with today! I can find similar items elsewhere - and will in the future.
google avatar

Yelp
This location of Dirty Coast has a small, yet ample supply of T-shirts and baby clothes that amplify insider New Orleans culture. If you want to find a t-shirt that not-so-gently mocks local politicians, pot holes, the Atlanta Falcons, etc., this is a good spot. They also have t-shirt designs that celebrate New Orleans and unique cultural aspects such as po boys, jazz, local neighbourhoods, etc. There is also a 15% discount for those who check in on Yelp!
google avatar

Deborah A.

Yelp
I love Dirty Coast! They're a cute boutique t-shirt shop that caters to New Orleanians and Nola fans. They have unique men's and women's t-shirts, fitted shirts, tank tops, and bags. They also have canvases you can get to decorate your house or office. They are great for gifts, even for children. Take a look and be sure to use the yelp 15% off check in deal! The staff is really nice too! You won't be disappointed.
google avatar

Kaitlyn B.

Yelp
I ordered one of their shirts online. It caught my attention because it was for Thomas Morsteads charity. From the get go I was pleased with Dirty Coast. Prompt emails and updated shipping information kept me up to date. It did take a while to get my shirt, but that was because I bought it during presale. I am sure if it was an in stock shirt I would have gotten it quickly. When my shirt came in it was suppppper soft. I love the way it fits. They also threw in a couple of stickers. I am absolutely over the moon about how well this company runs and will continue to buy shirts from them.

M R.

Yelp
Dirty Coast offers the best selection of unique New Orleans/Southern tshirts. It's always a must-visit during our trips and I can always find one (or more) to take home. I do wish they offered thicker tshirts, but do love that they offer unisex and women's fit options. They also have stickers, books, koozies, hats, etc. I've never needed the staff to help me find a size or design, so they may be really helpful, but when I've visited, they barely acknowledged me making a purchase, let alone just browsing in the store.

Caroline B.

Yelp
Can't speak highly enough of the Dirty Coast customer service team! A friend of mine had wanted a special print tee shirt and she missed out on the deadline. I sent Dirty Coast a DM on instagram, and they responded to me right away and put me in contact with Price, who went out of his way to work with the printer to find a few extra shirts for her. My friend was so happy and excited! I really appreciate Price's willingness to go out of his way to get a shirt these shirts, he made my week! I'll be a forever Dirty Coast customer!

Marielle S.

Yelp
I've been a fan of Dirty Coast long before they had an actual store and they were just operating online and selling their wares at odd little venues around the city. The shirts are definitely unique and if you are "NOLA-centric", as I am, you will quickly become a fan of these quirky tees. I have a few of the "original" ones, that are kind of worn out from over wear, but I still rock with pride. "New Orleans: It sticks to you" and "NOLA: Made with soul" are personal favorites. There are a lot of great t-shirt shops in the city (that I am also a fan of), but there is something special about Dirty Coast. All you have to do is attend one of their fashion shows in order to see it.

Yelp
Stopped by here so the Girly could get a Louis Armstrong shirt for her Brother. Small place, nicely stocked with a friendly staff. Good quality shirt materials and printing. A little pricey but the quality is there. Will go back.
google avatar

Yelp
An awesome new retail outlet for a formerly online-only business. Sells New Orleans themed t-shirts all printed on American Apparel. Some seriously awesome designs - not the crap you see on Bourbon Street. Come in and ask the friendly staff to explain any shirts you don't get - I didn't understand about 1/4 of them. They make awesome gifts to all your local and far-flung friends and family. Send them some NOLA love.
google avatar

Jeff A.

Yelp
Awesome designs and very cool prints/t-shirts. Join their mailing list to get up-to-date news on new products (which seem to come out relatively frequently).
google avatar

Shercole K.

Yelp
I am addicted to Dirty Coast. I have almost every t-shirt. How can you not love a place that made a t-shirt that says Banger with two fangs!!!! It's impossible! I love any establishment that loves New Orleans and True Blood as much as me. Its a truly cute little store that you need to check out and get all your New Orleans inspired t-shirts.
google avatar

Christopher M.

Yelp
Its got some pretty cool t shirts and decorations. Small local shop. When I walk in the shopkeeper minded their business as I looked around. They were cordial. The place is clean, and orderly and is worth a look in my opinion.
google avatar

Mandy H.

Yelp
Genius designs! I hate souvenirs...especially of the t-shirt variety. Loved that I happened by this place. Great place to score a NOLA-esque shirt minus the cheesy tourist feeling. "Like" them on Facebook and receive a 10% discount. Sweet.
google avatar

Bob B.

Yelp
Their shirts are instant conversation starters and appeal to the native New Orleanian. Witty designs and great references. Great website and online ordering portal. Truly couldn't be easier to make gifting a breeze.
google avatar

Perry H.

Yelp
Love Dirty Coast! I've been buying shirts from them online for quite awhile but had never visited their storefront. They have a great layout with all the shirts on the wall and a friendly staff that will help you find your size. All the shirts are very creative and cool. Who Got Dat Baby...
google avatar

Jacob J.

Yelp
This place is awesome! Great shirts you won't find anywhere else. I was a previous resident of NOLA, and since moved elsewhere. They really have online ordering down & their customer service is on point. Great job guys & gals!
google avatar

Barbara S.

Yelp
Nice shop, just not enough selections. But that might just be me. I like unusual teeshirts and they didn't have one that stood out. That's not saying it wasn't a good shop, because it was. Just not for me
google avatar

MJ D.

Yelp
Clever sayings on pricey shirts. I have to hand it to them, they understand the Yat mentality, down by ya momaandem, Jewel. Great Xmas presents for ex-New Orleanians.

Yelp
Stopped in here with 3 friends after seeing someone at the Kendra Scott store with a tee shirt on from Dirty Coast.. Walked into Dirty Coast and was greeted rudely with "WE CLOSE IN TEN MINUTES!!".. I realize that it was 5:50 on a Saturday evening and the salesman was tired but after hearing him yell at the next 4 customers that came through the door with the same rude greeting, we left.. My friends and I needed 5 tee shirts each which we purchased at Fleurty Girl the next day.. Dirty Coast could have made an easy $500 sale, we had the shirts and would have been out before 6:00 but the rudeness was unnecessary to treat any guest.. will not be recommending this business on my travel site..

Yelp
So I didn't get the memo about their new location. I went to their old store, saw that it was out of business and there was no sign to lead me somewhere different. Bummed, I went back to my car and drove away. Then, as I was driving away, I saw the Dirty Coast logo on a different building! Ahh, tricky little ---. Whereas the old store used to be on the same side of the street as Whole Foods, the new location is directly across the street from Whole Foods. The new store still very much has the same cool vibe going on-- it's just a little more spacious, a little more chic, and yes, probably even a little cooler. The t-shirts are the same though: great designs, unique New Orleanian humor, and even some thoughtful commentary. Always high quality. Definitely worth a trip to the store, but all of their items can be found on their website as well. For how much personality the shirts have, I wish you could always say the same about the staff.

Yelp
So my friend wanted to get her husband a cool t-shirt and this the place we went to get it! It's a cute little store that sells t-shirts on American Apparel. Super awesome designs that you totally know is all about New Orleans. I love the designs and my friends had to explain the humour of certain shirts to me. The staffer who was there was really helpful! He knew what sizes he had and what he didn't off the top of his head and he gave us various suggestions that really appealed to us. I'm glad they sell online so I can get some NOLA love sent to me without spending a ton of money to fly out there from the West Coast.

Yelp
Whenever I travel, I look for stores with unique souvenirs. Their T-shirts fit the bill!! I highly recommend for someone who wants to get something beyond "drunk guy on Bourbon St" T-shirt. Only wish they had long sleeve T-shirts. Prices are between $20-30 for T-shirts. They are walking distance to the convention center. Yelp- y'all need to add this to the souvenir shop category. (Dunno how on my app)
