We recently visited for a 90-minute Christmas-themed bottomless brunch and sadly left really disappointed. I’ll start with the positives: the drinks were ok, and our server was great at keeping our glasses topped up. She was really the only highlight of the experience.
Unfortunately, everything else fell short – especially the food and drink selection. Our dishes arrived almost an hour into our session, and when they finally turned up the food was ice cold. We sent it back, only for the exact same tray to be returned to us (someone in our group bit into one of the items before we sent it back, which was how we knew it was the same plate). We sent it back again because it was still cold and hardened, and when it finally came out a third time it arrived about 10 minutes before our session ended, and bizarrely included items we hadn’t even ordered and that weren’t on the menu we’d selected. And to make it worse, still cold and awful! It was like they dug around in the back of the fridge and threw together whatever they could find!
To make things worse, despite all the delays, we were then asked to leave our table right as this mismatched food arrived which was when our 90 minute session ended. The whole situation felt really poorly handled and the manager seemed to care less about our experience or the fact we paid for food with the brunch and didn’t get what we should have.
The Christmas theme also felt almost non-existent, no real decorations, no Christmas music – which was disappointing considering it was sold as a festive brunch. What made the experience even more surprising is that there were only two other groups besides us in the whole venue, so it definitely wasn’t busy. If things were this disorganised with just a few tables in, I can’t imagine how it would run if it were fully booked.
We’ve visited the Dirty venue in Bristol before and had a great time, so we were really looking forward to this, but the St Paul’s location just didn’t deliver. The food was honestly terrible, and several of us felt unwell later that day and the following day. Overall, not worth the money at all, especially when there are so many better brunch options in the area and around London at this time of year.
