3 Best Day Trips From Bangkok

"Grasshopper Adventures runs bike tours that range from mild to very challenging half- or full-day excursions and weeklong trips. The Ayutthaya bike tour is one of their most easily accessible options. The full-day ride offers a thorough, educational look at the ancient city capital, winding through back alleys and sacred sights and covering around 24 miles of temples and landmarks. Beyond the monuments, you'll pause for a lovely riverside lunch and whiz past local neighborhoods and communities, too, gaining a glimpse of everyday life. The ride is fairly easy and flat, but the road can get dusty and busy and the heat can be fierce; besides, traveling on two wheels is no doubt a grittier experience that being driven around in an air-conditioned car. If you don’t mind all that, it’s worth it—and it's possibly the most fun way to visit Ayutthaya." - Marianna Cerini

14km tour around Bangkok taking about 3 hours with stops. Max was our tour guide and was amazing. We saw some good sights and got some drinks and snacks along the way (paid for by Max!) Highly recommend for your sightseeing around the city!

We did the cycle tour through the back streets and alleys of old Bangkok. The tour ends with a boat trip down the canals and across the river. Fantastic experience and Tom, our guide, was brilliant. I’d recommend to anyone who wants to see more than the obvious tourist sites.

A brilliant 4 hour bicycle tour very ably led by the English speaking Seen, through the alley ways and by ways of historic Bangkok. Amazing visit to the Ban Bu craft factory hand bashing bronze bowls. Plus visits to ancient temples. A must do event if it’s your first visit to Bangkok. Just make sure the to/from taxi has a working meter :-)

I recently had the pleasure of experiencing a night cycle tour through the historical neighborhoods, and it was an absolute delight! Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable, providing fascinating insights into the rich history of each location we visited. The experience was worth every penny, as it offered a unique perspective that simply can't be replicated by taking a taxi or tuk-tuk. I left feeling extremely satisfied and with a newfound appreciation for the city's heritage. If you're looking for an informative and immersive way to explore, I highly recommend this tour!

Absolutely loved their 4 hour night biking tour! I showed up 15 minutes late after sitting in traffic trying to get there for 1 hour and 45 minutes and was very appreciative that they waited for me. Our tour guide, Tik, took us down amazing back alleys that were quiet, narrow and 100% tourist free. We got to see what it's like for the rest of the people to live in Bangkok. The ferry across the river was such a unique experience at night and the view of the lit up temples was a must-see. We even biked along a mini-boardwalk on the other side that I didn't even know existed, and I've been to Bangkok many times. TiK explains everything to you perfectly and even shared his experience about when he joined a temple as a young man and become a Buddhist monk. TiK also hooked us up with some great street food snacks, after showing us the flower market, before guiding us back to home base. Had a great time and so glad I did it! Highly recommend.

INCREDIBLE!! Our tour guide Top was incredible, so passionate and knowledgeable. We had a small group of only 5 of us and it made it even more amazing. Highlight: being able to see the backstreets of Bangkok - this is something I wouldn’t have seen! 10/10 would recommend!

An amazing and unique experience. After visiting the crowded temples in sweltering heat, it was a refreshing change to see Bangkok by night. We even were lucky enough to get a look at the monks chanting. It was a true priviledge to discover the real winding streets often absolutely isolated. A truly magical trip made even.more special thanks to Top, an amazing guide with a wealth of knowledge. We literally asked him everything. He even made an emergency stop to get us insects! He paid attention to all our needs and really made us feel as if we had been friends all our lives. A truly enlightening, worthwhile trip. We would definitely repeat!
