Discovery Cube Los Angeles

Our kids had fun and it was great watching them play. Great for a half day trip. This place has lots of short interactive games and learning activities. Unfortunately most are showing their age or just simply out of commission. The place is clean but could use an update to most of their permanent exhibits. Some of the exhibits look to be rotating/short term and all those were good. They have a small little food court that we didn't try but the offerings are pretty bog standard for a place like this. Parking, like others have mentioned is a little strange but plentiful. It shares a communal lot with the parks it neighbors, so expect a short walk. We traveled from a few hours away for our visit. All in all, I think we'd visit again sometime in the future. Hopefully by then some upkeep has taken place.

This is exploratory Wonderland for my two year-old son!!! He is obsessed with this place when we go it’s impossible to get him to leave because it’s that incredible!!! We’re going back again this weekend, because once you know how wonderful it is, you never wanna stop revisiting 😍

Fantastic place yo bring the kiddos. Just a heads up you can probably go thru this entire place in about 2hrs. But its a nice place to take kids and see some interesting science experiments. I love how the 2nd floor has new exhibits often. They had scooby doo mysteries on this trip. My son loves to come here and just get to touch everything. Recommend bringing kids for the experience.

An incredible place to explore for kids! My 4 year old spent 3 hours here discovering and learning. Not only do you learn about science, you also learn social skills when it comes to sharing and taking turns. There was a field trip with about 1000 kids (is what we were told!) so the place was unusually packed. Perfect for toddlers! We were hoping for the dinosaur exhibition but enjoyed the Barbie and L.A Kings exhibitions that were currently running. The carousel out front was spectacular. You can purchase all-day tickets or a single ride. It was the perfect way to end the visit. Little kids can ride (under 42” tall) so long as a parent or guardian is next to them holding them up. There’s a cafeteria that serves ready-made sandwiches, hot pizza, fruit and snacks. The bathrooms have changing tables and there’s a family bathroom on the 1st floor. Parking is free next to the park and it’s about 1 block away from the entrance of the Discovery Cube.

I went for a field trip with a class I work in. It was really neat! The different sections are incredible! The play super market is huge! It had shopping carts, lots of awesome play foods, meats, literally looks like a real grocery store! The tablets that you use to go through the house was really neat and so fun while learning soo much about energy! Everything was soo well made and the amount of learning was incredible! We all had a great time! I'm grateful I got to go! I will definitely be going back to bring my kids! It's more than worth your money!!

I purchased tickets for the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Exhibit for myself, my husband and our 3 year old daughter, but the the Orange County location. (Not knowing the exhibit was only at the Los Angeles location.) We visited Discovery Cube LA on 02/14/26. My daughters birthday was on 02/16/26. I emailed customer service and Neidra replied and gave me the correct information. Thank you Neidra at Discovery Cube LA, she went above and beyond for my little family. She even gave my daughter a mini stuffed animal for her birthday. Neidra, if you’re reading this THANK YOU for making our first time visit to DCLA an amazing one. You truly are the best. We will never forget your kindness and generosity. Thank you also to the staff at DCLA. Highly recommended.

Too expensive for its size, admission fee should only apply to kids all adults ever did is guide kids nothing really for parents its kinda like an indoor playground with a bunch of buttons, levers and projector imo but parents pay to get inside too. You can experience everything in less than 1 hr And kids be just going back doing the thing they like over and over again.

This is a great place for your children to be inside during blistering heat. There are so many different things to do and learn in the process. Remember to bring sanitizer and wipes to clean the hands of your kids lots of kids, lots of germs.

Its considered los angeles but not really in los angeles per say, a bit far out from downtown la area. The plus side is the surrounding park and lake that families and kids can enjoy after their visit. Having been only to their OC location as a comparison i prefer the OC discovery cube as its larger and its floor space is more open compared to the los angeles location. The oc also has a cool space shuttle launch in the cube and a dinosaur outdoor space. The difference it mainly the floor space, and exhibits. However i did like the vector control and home energy exhibit here vs the smaller one at the OC. Having the rock wall was fun for kids along with the wind tunnel and the la kings and mickey playhouse exhibit. Outside the entrance they have a carousel but you need to pay for a ticket $3 i believe. All in all i was glad to have come and checked it out with the family and kids. But likely won't make the long drive there and will go to the oc location unless there is a cool event or exhibit.

I came here over the weekend with my 15 month old. The DC has plenty of free parking across the street. The DC space itself isn't too big so it'd def doable in a couple of hours. With a 15 month old, there isn't a whole lot to do since most of it is interactive and science based. My kid ran around here and there and touched things. I think we spent like 1-1.5 hour there. We specifically went for the Mickey space. The area was cute but again it's better suited for kids maybe 2+. Overall, fun space for young kids to explore and play. We probably won't go back until our kids is maybe 3 so he can get the full benefit of the space.

Great place to take the kiddos, just an FYI you can run thru entire place in about hour and half to two hours. Has a lot of different science activities for kids. Love the fact they update the 2nd floor with new activities every so often. This time it was scooby doo themed, solving mysteries. Nice little show as well. Great place to visit while your at the damn.

We came here not expecting too much, but we were pleasantly surprised. This place is mostly designed for kids who are at least 3 years old, maybe older. A lot of hands on activities for kids to learn. Upstairs isn't quite as interesting, we spent most of our time downstairs where most of the action is.

Be prepared to spend a long time here! There are so many things to keep the kids busy, from a store to go shopping and learn about food and packaging to a helicopter experience. The second floor had a scooby doo exhibit which was fun. Lots of interactive exhibits in addition to that. And a carousel outside! They have a cafe with some ready to eat food and also pizza or nachos. The food is not exquisite, but it's good enough for the kids to eat. The membership is not super expensive, so we got a family one. So glad these places exits, especially when it rains!

We came to this campus for my son's 4th grade field trip. All exhibits were super fun and interactive. I wish we would have had more time to enjoy each at our own pace. My son really enjoyed himself with the interactive grocery store. I liked that it taught him how to read the food labels in order to make healthy choices. The waste management exhibit was also enjoyed. I wouldn't have thought to make a game out of separating our different wastes. Another favorite was the weight pulling. I'm not sure exactly what part of the exhibit this was, but it definitely looked fun and made my son feel strong! We will definitely be coming back to take our time and get thru each exhibit properly and hopefully ride the carousel!

The activities are fun there. It can be a one day rainy day activity. The younger ones can do the supermarket experience and fun activities upstairs. The older one like the iPad activities

We've been to the Irvine Discovery Cube many times in the past, and somehow I never knew there was an LA location! We have a family membership to a local science museum that gives us reciprocity discount at many locations throughout the state (and other states, if we ever decided to venture past state lines). When we visited my in-laws down in LA, I decided to fill our itinerary with multiple attractions that offer either free or 50% admission, and Discovery Cube LA was one of them (since it's much closer to our in-laws than the Irvine location). The set-up is completely different than the Irvine location and have different exhibits as well, and I'm super happy to see that more of their exhibits are appropriate for younger kids (3yo girl and 5yo boy) as I remember the Irvine location was much more geared towards older kids (elementary & beyond). We would definitely come back again in the future until my kids get a bit older & at which point we will go to the Irvine location instead when they're ready for more science-heavy exhibits!

The museum is well organized and has some really interesting and fun exhibits. The location and parking are not ideal. The lot is a bit of a walk (not super long) but we felt a little uneasy with a few folks meandering the parking lot.

Museum = 4.4 Food = 3.2 Average = 3.8 (but I'll round up to a 4) This museum has ton of activities. I was enticed by how much programming they try to fit into a month. The cloud rings right near the gift shop are super cool. Pizza is very middle of the road - a little too much tomato saucy flavor for my liking but the pepperoni keeps it salvageable. I've never had Chuck E Cheese Pizza but think I need to try some to compare for my pizza barometer. Parking is free

Discovery Cube in Los Angeles is a great place to take kids for a fun and educational experience. This was our first time visiting and our 5-year-old daughter had a great time. This children museum has a variety of hands-on science based exhibits that spark curiosity. He had fun exploring the Eco Challenge Race, Grocery Store, Garbage Truck game, climbing wall, broadcasting studio, Dinosaurs and even taking a virtual helicopter ride over Los Angeles. Discovery Cube has a good variety of science based exhibits that cover a wide range of topics, from recycling, wildlife, games, sports, dinosaurs, home improvement, trains, and a tour into the human body. We had a few favorites, we enjoyed the helicopter exhibit, which simulates a real aerial tour of Los Angeles aqueduct. The dinosaur exhibit was also a big hit with our daughter. We also loved making a tornado and standing inside the wind tunnel exhibit. There is a cafe for food and drinks, as well as a gift shop with a variety of science-themed gifts. The Discovery Cube also has a large free parking lot with playground nearby. The bathrooms are located by the front entrance, they were clean and well kept. We played for about 3 hours, and we did have a fun time at Discovery Cube and would recommend it to families with young children, if you had never been. However, it is important to note if you've already been through the exhibits, there's not a strong incentive to return back to them, also a few exhibits were not in service and being repaired. Some of the exhibits could also be cleaner. While we probably wouldn't get a membership here, it is a good option for a family outing, especially on a rainy day or a school field trip.

This place is much more spacious than the one in Orange County. The kids love the merry go round and only 8 bucks for unlimited rides. So worth it since we went on it 10 times. The Barbie was very interactive and the kids had so much fun. I think they could add a few more attraction due to the space allowed

Always a good time They change their exhibits seasonally. So it never gets boring. The snack bar/food spot inside now serves pizza! They also offer sandwiches, pbjs and chips. Happy they expanded their food options The carouse is also open. Inexpensive for all day rides. Fun place to be

Not sure why the ratings are so low. This places is awesome! It is a fun place to take the kiddos for some hands-on fun, especially on a rainy day. They have some fun staple exhibits that my kids never get sick of, and they have a section that rotates every quarter or so to keep things fresh. What I love is that they also do supplemental events for holidays and just for fun that are included in the very affordable membership. I highly recommend getting a membership as it pays for itself if you go even 2 times per year.

We came for the touch a truck event and had a blast. You were able to go into the vehicles and press all the buttons, plus the vehicle operators were there to answer any questions you have. The petting zoo and engineer play area were also a hit. This location has almost all the exhibits the OC one has, but it is missing the whole Dino area. It makes up for it with a rock climbing wall. Fun times!

We have been members of Discovery Cube for some years now because my kids love it so much!! It's so fun plus educational! This place is even good for older kids and adults. I love that it's a mostly hands on museum because if you're a parent or are around children often you know they love to play and touch everything! The museum is always clean, there's people there if you need any help and they added more things go do. My kids love pretending to shop and it also helps them learn to make good choices on what types of food to eat. They also have different themes on the second floor from time to time so it's always fun to check out their new exhibits.

It's a fun place to visit with your child and can easily spend a couple of hours here. My daughter throughly loved it and also learnt about many different aspects. There are many interactive exhibits that kids enjoy. There is a gift shop and a cafe as well. We visited on a weekday and the place was pretty quiet and empty.

Great spot to the kids. Prices are very affordable and you can get a yearly pass which makes a lot more sense if you like taking your kids out often. There is a lot of activities for the kiddos and it keeps them busy. They also change up the theme every couple months or so, which keeps the place exciting. The people working there are nice and informative. Definitely recommend. They also have a park and library nearby.

Not a very big place--kind of disappointing. We brought our two-year-old here, and ran through the place in less than forty minutes. Some of the exhibits are upstairs, and they have a ramp, which is cool, but they also have a long flight of stairs just begging for a kid to fall down, so be careful taking a young child to this place. The best part of the whole experience were the folks outside near the parking lot not even associated with the Discovery Cube, offering horse rides. I can't see us ever going back.

My almost 4-year-old son had a blast here. It's a fun place to visit with your child, and you can easily spend a few hours here. Everything is interactive, and the museum features real-life attractions that go into all kinds of everyday things kids will encounter, like garbage processing, weather, engineering, home safety, water treatment, etc. Very STEM-oriented. There is also a cafe where you can buy food. There is also a fun playground right outside the museum if your child still has some energy after visiting the museum. We drove here from Santa Monica, and it took us about 30 minutes to get here on a Saturday. Free unlimited parking.

As a teacher, I was so excited to take my homeschool students to discovery cube. There are so many interesting interactive exhibits for kids to try and to learn from my favorite exhibit is the grocery store where kids are able to read labels and determine what is the best item to buy for the value and nutritional value as well Also. There is also a nice park right nearby where kids can play afterwards and plenty of free parking. I would not advise at the museum. The food is terrible but that's not what you're going for anyway.

My family and I have enjoyed the Discovery Cube with our annual membership. The OC location is our home location, but have gone a few times to the LA location. I feel like the layout in this location is more narrow/condensed compared to the OC location. There's also no outdoor play area here. One of the activities that is different here is that they have a TV broadcast station that is near and fun for the kids to do and record. The only downside to this location is that their AC either doesn't work well or is non existent, which was horrible visiting in the summer months. Bonus points that parking is free here (shared with a nearby park). If you end up with a membership, they also have partnering museums where you can get either discounted admission or free admission (if 75 miles outside of your home discovery cube location). This was a nice benefit we took advantage of during our annual road trip vacation. The rotating exhibits my son has enjoyed (that I can remember) are Paw Patrol and TMNT!

Sigh It's just a bit disappointing to be honest Super boring and in my opinion not worth the money

The orange county Discovery cube is way nicer! The exhibits are not as updated and nice, there isnt alot of things to do versus the other location. I drove from far for a different expirence that OC might not have and they were similar or even less.

So fun! A great playing & learning experience for the whole family. A very hands on museum, so expect the kids to touch everything! Our daughter's favorite part was the grocery shopping with the functional scanners and nutritional quizzes. Wish they had a larger food area with more variety but to be fair, you don't go for the food.

My almost and 2 and 4 year old spend about two hours here and are well entertained. It does seem a little overpriced for what it is. Some of the areas don't really offer much and kids are over it within 5 minutes. Employees aren't overly enthusiastic to be working. Overall it's ok but not my first choice when thinking of places to go. They do have special area of things to do outside during holidays like halloween and christmas, but it's usually unorganized and not managed by anyone. I do appreciate that they had Santa there during christmas time.

Really cool experience and technology for kids (and adults alike)! A variety of interactive games, skill testing and exploration. Planet learnings, shopping sprees, race car creation and laser games are just a few of the fun opportunities.

Fun time with the family. This place is perfect for 4-7 year olds. We had a blast in the various areas. The mock grocery store was a good way to teach kids about picking healthy food choices. My little one had fun on the rock climbing area. There was a carousel outside as well. Personally it was a one and done as I doubt we will revisit, but it was a good way to spend time with family on a Saturday.

My daughter had fun in the upstairs area with Thomas the train. That area was the best for toddlers. They also did have a Lego table and a submarine slide that she played in. The rest of the exhibits were for older kids- helicopter video about water reclamation, Santa Ana winds, NHL hockey section, and an energy conservation exhibit in a cute craftsman model home. I don't think they should charge adults for this place as it's not for us. I was thinking about an annual pass but I prefer the zoo. This is a nice place to visit during the summer as they have AC but it's not my favorite. I would have liked to see the Inside Out exhibit- I hope they bring that back. There is a small cafe on the first floor that sells pre-packaged foods- sandwiches, salads, chips, drinks, etc but no kitchen. Their main bathroom was closed so we went to the one by the cafe. Free parking and a nearby outdoor playground.

I cane here for the first time last weekend with my kids. They have a perfect mix of kid's activities. On this particular say they had cookie decorating and a Ninja Turtle exhibit. I appreciated the fact that it wasn't too crowded and the variety of activity. There is truly something for every kid ( 1-11) From legos, to trains, animals, you name it. The variety is really unmatched at the Discovery Cube. My boys LOVED the Ninja Turtle exhibit and want to go back ! Looking into a possible membership in the future !

We love the Discovery Cube! It is a great spot to take the children and let them learn and have fun. We have gone to both locations and they are great, although we frequent this one more because it's closer to us. Our kids just love it. They particularly enjoy the laser game and the rotating exhibits (the current one is about dinosaurs. Getting the membership is the best deal if you live close enough. I recommend you "discover" this place.

Do NOT go on a weekend. There were so many UNSUPERVISED children. Parents letting big kids climb and sit in displays. Parents on their phones not watching their kids. They will literally walk in front of you when seeing you take pictures. There is no staff to control anything. No supervision at the gift store where anyone can walk out with an item and nobody would know. There were TO MANY people allowed in. They should sell x amount of tickets. They certainly are NOT organized like California Science Center. And I had to pay $20 per ticket? I would have liked my grand daughter to be allowed to enjoy the Barbie exhibit without there being 50 kids per square foot. Never will I go here again.

Wasn't as well maintained as anticipated. Some areas were pretty worn down while others were overly crowded.

The food is awful but the experience is great . The activities are plenty and the kids have a fun filled day every time . p

Decent. I wish they updated their downstairs area. It gets a little boring after you've been a few times. But all in all good place for kids 2-10

I really want to like this place but it is underwhelming for sure. It's not even located in Sylmar, it's in Lake View Terrace! Two cities away. It's within Hansen Dam Rec area which is not a great area. Parking is strangely far from the entrance, many shady looking people around. They could do so much better w the attractions through LA city. Okay, place to have your toddler run around and has air conditioning.

I recently did my sons birthday party there. I was very impressed with the amount of fun that kids had. There are a lots of activities for kids. The service is good and the staff are very helpful and friendly. The only downside is the hours which is only 3 hours but its ok because they allowed us to take the remaining of the food to the cafe teria area and still serve our guests.

So basically basing this review off there sister Cube out in the OC which i usually visit. This Cube is located in a dam, sports complex, park area, and like my 9 year old daughter stated, "where is the big cube on the top?". Which i thought was funny, cause i would think, they would put a big cube out somewhere like they have at the one in the OC. Kind of like there trademark of sorts. Anyways, this one doesnt have one. You have to follow the signs to get to the building, which is a little secluded. Its right next to big park though, with two big playareas, which is a plus. The inside, is very big, open, and long which was good. Not a lot of people as compared to the OC one, which was also good. A lot of the same things. Main differences i saw was the concession stand at the LA one is a lot smaller only selling prepackaged foods.. Also the gift shop i thought was smaller here. They dont have an outside play area, since i think they have the two bigs one right next door at the park. Free parking as well. The place was very clean and a lot of people working there.

Place was nice and not packed for a Thursday morning but I definitely feel it's more geared toward a little bit older children versus my 19 mth old. There was really only this one little area when you walk in to the right that had a little slide, coloring table, and a few other things she enjoyed that she was into. Will be back but probably not till she's 3 or so so she can fully enjoy the exhibits more. No one working there was wiping down anything the entire time we were there nor trying to be engaging and showing stuff you could do etc. they just chatted amongst themselves. Place was pretty empty so they could of showed some initiative to engage. Tip: if going during the week just buy tickets when you get there it's $4 cheaper since you don't have to pay convenience fee and zero line.

this museum is very cool for age toddlers up to preteens i want to say. we made a trip out after we left Hollywood and before our drive north to Sacramento. lots of hands on activites and the helicopter movie about water system kept them paying attention. as soon as we left they ask when they can come back lol.

We come here twice a week. Pay a hundred bucks a year, totally worth it. Probably the best hundred bucks we spend.

A great way to spend a couple hours with the kids. There are many exhibits including Helicopter, Grocery, Hockey, Physics, and more. It was hands on and interactive. We came here right before Christmas with our son. Santa was there so you can grab some Christmas photos. The parking is free with plenty of spaces.

Such a cute exhibit full of learning and activities. My kids loved playing and didn't mind the learning portion either! I think they had a little bit for all kid age groups. Older kids would probably enjoy the first floor more but the kids loved the paw patrol exhibit! Little backpacks provided for their use so they too can feel like they are a part of the paw patrol community. The museum has various stations, my son enjoyed the train section the most, while my daughter loved the recycling section with the basura aka recycling truck. I had fun shopping at the grocery store with a healthy checklist which was also very educational. Overall a good family experience oh and I mentioned very economical for this day and age.

A bit small for being a museum but charming. There's many activities to keep kids interested. The helicopter tour was very informative, really enjoyed it. My child really enjoyed the dinosaur exhibit he was thrilled to have seen them. I didn't particularly like the food court area it seemed dull like a ghost town.

My family enjoyed the discovery cube in LA. We've been to the OC one a few times but wanted to check this space out. The parking feels a little sketchy, as it's next to a local park and there were some people randomly waiting in the lot that eventually approached us and tried to sell us a car service. So just be mindful to be aware of the surroundings as the parking is across the street from the center. Otherwise the space itself was fun, clean, and easier to navigate through. I liked that it was a little smaller than the other OC space, as sometimes you can feel exhausted leaving spaces like this. I also enjoyed the large glass windows that allow natural light in which felt nice in the afternoon. I enjoyed that some of the exhibits were unique to the space and made it feel different that the OC center. Overall will definitely be back.

Had an amazing time taking my daughter here. We bought last minute tickets (the day before) for 3 adults and 1 child. Very reasonable prices and loved that parking was free. We arrived a little before 11am and it was not busy at all for a Saturday morning. All the staff/volunteers were friendly and professional. There were lots of things to do to keep my little one busy. We spent a good 3.5 hours there. Even had time to squeeze in snack time at their cafe and took advantage of the paw patrol merchandise at the gift shop. Overall we all had a really good time and I definitely recommend coming here. P.S. it's located right next to Hansen lake and park. Plenty to do before or after the museum. There are also horses/pony rides on weekends.
