Discovery Parks - Port Hedland

A nice park. Yes the lanes are narrow but the angular parking helped but would have been tough with the opposite bay occupied across. We were lucky. The kids loved the pool, it was enough for them. The playground was not up to their standard. The facilities were ok but obviously had pigeons in the roof space causing a mess. Also the bathrooms had coded locks but were chocked open half the time because they get quite warm inside. The view of the town at night is awesome and you’ll see some amazing sunsets. Can also walk straight onto the beach on the north side. Most importantly it felt safe!! No way would I have had a positive experience if I stayed in South Headland after visiting both. A decent park overall and I would stay there again.

We would like to leave more than 5 stars!! We had a problem with our car and were stranded for several days in Port Hedland. When we arrived at the campsite the staff were more than understanding and helpful with us. As we didn't know how long the garage would take to repair our car they offered to help us block a room just in case and to make a late departure while waiting for a return from the garage. Despite a few last-minute changes, we could always count on their kindness and they did everything to accommodate us. We are very grateful to have met such understanding staff and management. We highly recommend a stay here. We booked the cabin and the room was very clean and well equipped. You have everything you need for a stay of several days. We will come back with pleasure. Thanks again to the staff who were incredible !

Staff were incredibly helpful 🤩, but the site was crowded with limited privacy. The beach made up for it, though! Just 3 minutes from the campground, it's perfect for dog owners And the trees in the ocean?|Absolutely breathtaking! ⭐️

Stayed on powered caravan site. Extremely narrow lanes makes accessing site difficult. First allocated site to small, 2nd ok but due to tree at back had to impinge on neighbours territory. Amenities dated and need up grading, also appear dirty all the time, partially due to age. Luckily only I night stay. A bit pricey for what you get, a lot of long term occupants (workers). Some appear not to like 'visitors'

Concrete slab for your van awning and car but tight to get in and out of. Facilities are old but clean. At the end of a residential area and has a vacant lower paddock behind the park so you can hear the constant rumble of this working town. Don’t understand the negative reviews. Have a look at a map and understand where you are.

Nice staff and the facilities are clean but to park a caravan it is way too small. Also the site itself is very small. This morning a guy moved his car for someone to park the van. They need to rearrange all the caravan sites and make 1 site of 2. For us this caravan park means not coming back.

Actually all in all a quite nice camp site with a very good situation. It’s within walking distance (via beach) to the Pretty pool. The site is quite old and would need a refurbishment. Especially the mens bathroom facilities are very manky - it feels as one would clean his teeth in an old pub toilet!

We got the short straw with our bay 166. You have to reverse down past 3 sites on a narrow road to get into it. Its thick dirt, backs onto a creek and next to a playground. You can't put out your awning as you need to park your car next to the caravan due to limited space. Generally I have nothing but high praise for GDay parks, but this site should be turned into grass or decommissioned. Seriously!!! there was nothing to like about it. We won't be back. Worst park ever

Very warm pool. A bit rough bin day 6.30 Monday morning. Plenty of bins so you didn't have to walk far to get rid of rubbish. In this part of town cold tap warm enough to have shower with out turning on hot tap this could be a health hazard if you burn yourself they should look into this. Close to the beach. Walking distance to pretty pool.
