Anna was an amazing guide, sharing lots of historical info as well as covering the local wildlife! We loved her energy and passion for what she does. What an amazing day on the Salish Sea! Thank you Discovery Sea Kayaks, we will for sure do this again. Liz and Randy

We had an amazing 3 day/2 night tour with Caleb as our guide. He worked so hard to ensure everything was absolutely perfect, that we had everything we needed, that we were well fed with delicious food...he really took care of everything! He was also a wealth of knowledge about the area. I'm celiac and pescetarian and Caleb catered each recipe to this and took so many precautions to ensure I was safe. We will remember this trip forever - thank you!

Such a wonderful trip! The Discovery team made everything about our 3-day tour seamless. Jethro and Anna did an amazing job taking care of our crew and adjusting to our abilities and interests. The camp food was thoughtful, healthy and delicious all throughout! Thank you Discovery team for a very memorable birthday celebration 🥰

We booked a half day kayak tour for our birthdays. Our guide, Billy, was great. He was a great guide from start to finish and gave us info about the island on our drive to and from the park as well as on the water. He was patient, kind, and just fun to be around. We had a great time on the water, and we're able to see lots of creatures (eagle, sea lions, jellyfish, jumping fish, heron, and porpoise). I would definitely recommend this for anyone, we absolutely loved every minute.

I just came home from a 3 day adventure with Discovery and I am soooo happy that I went! This trip had a little bit of everything I was looking for - beautiful views, nature explorations, orca sighting, camping on an island, great food throughout, and the company of good people. I pushed myself physically but didn’t go overboard so I could enjoy the whole trip. Our guide Caleb did a great job of forecasting the currents and weather so we could ride the waves and have an easier time paddling on the journey. I will definitely consider doing this again!

We did the half day kayak tour and had an amazing time. Our guide, Brenden, was very courteous, funny, helpful and knowledgeable. They keep the groups small and also offer overnight trips. The staff in the store were also very friendly and helped with food recommendations. We will absolutely be back to this outfitter! Thank you!!!

We went on the 3 day/ 2 night tour. We had a magical time!!! 10/10, would do it again in a heartbeat. It was definitely one of the best trips we’ve been on, and we’ve traveled all over the world. Sometimes it’s good to remember why we live here in the gorgeous PNW, and this tour definitely did that. It’s a really special place and Discovery Sea Kayaks was definitely the right choice for a tour company. Everything was very organized and professional. Route: Due to the tides and currents, our guide planned a route with a 2 night base camp at Jones Island (instead of the 2nd night at Stewart Island). I think we kayaked about 10-12 miles a day, usually with the currents helping. Guide: Our guide Caleb was so nice, interesting, and incredibly knowledgeable about all things kayaking, tides, currents, marine animals, flora, fauna, geography, geology, local indigenous history…my partner also was impressed by his knots 😂. Caleb also cooked us impressively delicious meals (lamb curry! Caramelized onion, mushroom, sun dried tomato chicken pasta!) and made sure we had the best experience. He really made the experience for us. Marine animals: We didn’t see any Orcas (they hadn’t been seen for weeks) but we saw lots of other creatures, seals, lots of birds, a starfish or two :) Caleb pointed them all out for us. Equipment and campsites: The gear and equipment was high quality. We picked up dry bags from the office the day before so we could pack. The state park campsites were very scenic and the latrines were clean. Jones Island has several little hiking trails and beautiful scenery. Group: We were a group of 6, which seemed small compared to other companies and was definitely a plus. We’re outdoorsy PNW people, but we were really only weekend recreational kayakers (our group seemed about this same fitness level). This was our first sea kayaking adventure (beyond paddling around a beach or calm coastal waters) and we were nervous. It was definitely a workout, especially the few minutes here and there when we got caught against a current or when the wind picked up, but it was so fun! And we did it! Caleb checked in to see how everyone was doing and make sure everyone had enough breaks. Anyway now we’re inspired to get into sea kayaking and touring more seriously and finally invest in a second kayak. Tip: if you go to Deer harbor for ice cream, they accept apple pay (we didn’t bring our wallets). Tip: walking on to the ferry (no reservation) is way easier than trying to make a reservation to drive on. You can park at the ferry terminal in Anacortes (about $10/day).

What an amazing adventure we had with Discovery Sea Kayak Tours! I love the San Juan’s and the surrounding area and what an awesome way to experience it! A four day kayaking/camping tour on the Salish sea and surrounding islands. Wildlife abound and the natural beauty is breathtaking. Our guides were knowledgeable and accommodating. Thank you Caleb and Ev for all the great food and all the laughs! I am so happy to have had this wonderful experience! I highly highly recommend Discovery Sea Kayak tours. Just do it!!
