Well what can I say, Dish lives up to the hype.
Service and Atmosphere: Reservations are a must. The atmosphere feels very modern rustic, well lit, tables are a good size and I like that they don't cram all the tables so close together. Our server was very friendly! I really liked the service, I was never looking around for the waiter and yet he never hovered. Also for being named best burger in Prague, they aren't pretentious at all.
Food: I had the Koza Nostra burger, fries and honey mustard coleslaw.
Burger: The burger was great! I couldn't find anything wrong with it. The bun was so soft but really held up to the burger. It was also slightly sweet, it reminded me of a potato roll although it is a brioche. My burger came with goat cheese, fig mayo, arugula, and sun dried tomatoes. This burger really hit the spot for me because all those flavors perfectly worked together. Nothing was overbearing, it all really complemented each other. Also the proportions were just right! I think that's what really sold it for me. The patty itself was tender, pink in the middle, damn tasty. It wasn't the juiciest burger I've had and I definitely understand other peoples complaints about a lack of crispy sear. For me, I liked that this burger was juicy but not overly so because I just don't love it when you're halfway through your burger and the bun is barely holding everything up because it's soaked and everything is dripping everywhere. Don't get me wrong, there was still a sexy messiness to this burger and toward the end it was oozing out on my plate. But the burger wasn't greasy at all! Somehow it felt healthy, yet completely sinfully satisfying.
Fries: I tried the "fitness fries" which are their special maple syrup and bacon fries. Personally I wasn't impressed. The syrup tasted too sweet and the bacon wasn't salty or fatty enough to stand up to it. The bacon bits were too small. Also I prefer bacon crumbles to little perfect cubes of diced bacon. That disappointment aside, the regular fries and the ones with garlic and parsley were phenomenal! Great texture, perfectly greasy, a bit soft here, a bit of a crunch there. The density of the potato was on point.
Coleslaw: the honey mustard slaw was tasty but nothing to really write home about. I liked that the cabbage was cut into squares rather than shredded, the cabbage seemed a bit more crisp that way.
Price: Burgers run around 200kc, not including fries. My glass of wine was delicious at 85 kc.
Overall I had high hopes for this place and my expectations were met. I liked this place more than I thought I would because of the genuine service. Next time I'd love to try their homemade ice cream.
