Guide to Visiting Disneyland Paris

"The resort’s open-air dining and shopping district comparable to downtown entertainment promenades, featuring a mix of sit-down restaurants, familiar American chains, and a large store for souvenirs—convenient for arrivals, departures, and evening dining outside the parks." - Elizabeth Rhodes Elizabeth Rhodes Elizabeth Rhodes is a senior editor at Travel + Leisure, covering everything from luxury hotels to theme parks to must-pack travel products. Fun Disney Shopping Area Outside the Park Visited the Disney shopping area located outside of the main park, and it’s such a fun place to walk around even if you’re not entering Disneyland itself. The whole area still has that Disney vibe, just without the crowds inside the park. There are many different shops selling Disney merchandise - from cute souvenirs and plushies to apparel and collectibles. It’s really hard to leave empty-handed! The displays are fun to browse, and there’s something for every age. Food options are plentiful too, with lots of eateries and snack spots, so it’s a great place to grab a meal or just chill with a drink. Whether you’re looking for a proper sit-down meal or quick bites, there’s plenty to choose from. Overall, a lively and enjoyable area to shop, eat, and soak in the Disney atmosphere. A nice place to hang out before or after visiting the park! 🛍️✨

Very interesting area pre-parks. It has a nice selection of shops. Jewelery, fashion, souvenir, plushies, all sorts of cute and Disney theme stuff. There are also some restaurants and even a Lego shop with an amazing display to take photos at. There is also a Hot air balloon, if you feel adventurous and want to have a nice view of the area. It looked fun. I didn't do it thought.

The village is ideal when you need a "change of scenery" from the theme parks. There are plenty of options on the food and drink front, and while there are plenty of shops all selling Disney products, they do vary (slightly) in their themes. When we visited there was building work going on but when this is finished it should be even better.

Well, it's Disneyland. Great place. My son loved it. I just wished the characters speak, even if its through a pre recorded device so they don't get exhausted talking to everyone. Other than that, we had a great time. Will visit again.

Google
The experience as a family is 100% and you make infinity of core memories! The organization, the set-up and walking distance between the rides are totally walkable. Hint, have your youngest kid at a hight of 120cm to be able to let them ride almost everything (Indiana Jones is 140cm hight requiret) The app crashed so many times, that I'm more than happy to delete it after the trip! Bring your own food! And beverage!

The gateway to a magical experience. Free to enter, with limited gift shops and restaurants. Was some construction when we visited. Defo worth a visit.

Google
The free area to Disneyland Paris magic without needing a ticket to enter? Magical! Lots of great food and Superb shops, of course to a higher cost, but still not over the top.

Yelp
Not too many shops there yet. And also too much construction going on. Although what's there is pretty awesome. From the World of Disney Store to the Starbucks and movie theaters and restaurants. I can't wait til it's completed with all the added shops

Yelp
Is this a joke? lol We have a whole downtown Disney for shopping in the United States/ California Disney. I expected more from the Paris Disney Village. There's a movie theater and one big store. The store doesn't have much in it though. We were looking for Disneyland Paris t-shirts (for adults) and didn't find anything. We even looked for hats. Nothing. This was a really disappointing shopping experience. I will go back to California Disney to do my shopping lol

Yelp
For those who have been to the Villages in the US, this feels like an after thought. I was there on a Sunday afternoon and short of the official souvenir store the place was sort of empty. There's a few theme restaurants (Planet Hollywood going out of business Jan 7, 2023), a Lego store, movies and not much else. The McDonald's seemed to have been added in the back afterwards. Definitely much smaller than others. Even for the Christmas season it seemed like they added a few stalls, threw up some average decorations and that was it. Definitely sub par for Disney.

Yelp
Date of visit: September 12, 2022 Disney Village is the Paris equivalent of Disney Springs, formerly known as Downtown Disney. There are no rides, so if you see reviews referencing that, they must have clicked the wrong page for their review. There are a variety of shops and restaurants here, though many of the things for sale are the same as what you would find inside the park and at the same price so if you missed something in the park and still wanted to get it, here's your last chance. But not all of the places are the same, I was able to score a real French beret for a friend here at a smaller shop that didn't appear to be Disney-related. Restaurants are a bit uninspired, and not nearly as good as those you would find at the Disney Springs, or even Universal's CityWalk. One positive it how close it is to both Disney parks, no need to take a shuttle or drive over before or after visiting the parks.

Yelp
Those from Florida like Disney World and those California prefer Disneyland. Disney Paris though not as big as the other two it still brings that Disney feel. As an American you have to remember that Europeans do not have the need to be in a hurry to get things done so patience is a virtue. The lines wait for a ride can be close to two hours and some things can be closed but there is still a lot to do. Remember this is France so don't look for traditional American food so crepes replace hotdogs and waffles are considered a treat. The Disney retail stores are available as are stateside The metro take you right to the main gates and the park is very walk friendly. There is a fireworks show and the park closes at 11 pm, but the nights are not scorchers like LA and Orlando. So if you are in Europe or going make a plan to go to Disney Paris.

Yelp
American Tourist here. I'm trying to visualize Disney Village and Downtown Disney in Anaheim and i think they are pretty similar in size. There are a few stores and restaurants and that's about it. We just specifically went to Disney Village with no intention to actually go to Disney Paris (since I read it's very similar to Anaheim and that's like 30 min from my house). It's a 30-40 min train ride from the center of Paris. I wouldn't say it was super amazing or anything but if you have some gaps in your schedule that you need to fill it's not a bad way to spend a couple of hours.

Yelp
Like all Disneyland, the Disney village is located just right outside. There are many restaurants and stores here. No admission required. It is an open area. Yes there are a few hotels located here as well. The Village looked exactly the same in LA. Except the stores are not quite the same.

Yelp
Not as big as I expected but got what I needed. I tried their churros and it was not american churros. It was more like fried asian bread you eat with porridge but covered in sugar. It was not good. Stop at their western saloon for a quick drink and listen to their band play. Still not as great as bands back home. Happened to just get stuck on the train getting back due to the transit strike. I love Disneyland but not sure if I would come back.

Yelp
It's tough to compare Disney Village with Disney Springs at Walt Disney World. It almost isn't fair. However, it was quite small and the shops weren't as big as the ones in Orlando. I guess I had a much higher expectation with it being Disney and all. The good: The cute women's shop filled with tons of chic Disneyland merchandise. Earl of Sandwich is one of the restaurants at Disney Village and by far my favorite back in Orlando. We chose to dine at Vapiano since I don't have that at Walt Disney World. The not so good: There is much more left to be desired from this area. It looks old and outdated. They might be working on that though to their defense since I did see a bit of construction. It can be confusing to navigate. Even though it was a small area, we walked around in circles trying to find Vapiano and Five Guys (right next to each other) only to find it was outside the security check point. So we had to leave the secured area and go through the metal detectors again after dinner. It'll do to get your souvenirs but you don't have to dedicate a lot of time to check out this part of Disneyland Paris.

Yelp
Tons of restaurants and a few little shops here. It's a little underwhelming compared to the other locations but it is fun to walk through and shop and have a bite. Location is between the two parks and close to the rail station so at least that is nice!

Yelp
We wound up loving Disney Village! We ate at Earl of Sandwiches a bunch of times because it was affordable and right outside our hotel. Most of our Souvenir shopping also happened at the shops here because they are bigger then the ones in the parks :D It's quite an enjoyable area!

Yelp
Disney Village is located right infront of both Parks and offers a great variety of food- and shopping-options even without a ticket for the parks. Very convenient if you would like to eat outside of the parks. However, the service at all the restaurants we ate at (Starbucks, McDonald's, Rainforest Café and Vapiano) was very disappointing and has lots of room for improvement. Based on the prices (which are obviously higher than usual for these chain restaurants) I expected a way better service. Sometimes a smile goes a long way. The shops however are amazing. Many different options such as art, Lego and clothing. Those are definitely worth a visit.

Yelp
Disney Village is pretty much equivalent to Downtown Disney in California or Disney Springs in Florida. It's just a hop and a skip away from the Marne la Vallée Chessy train station. You'll have to go through security check before entering the village. Here you can get a little bit of the Disney experience without having to go inside one of the parks. There are a lot of restaurant options as well as several Disney stores to buy anything and everything Disney. I picked up a few Disneyland Paris pins for my friends back home.

Yelp
Great experience. On a rainy summer day the lines were ok (mostly 30-45 minutes) to get 5 rides in half a day. Ponchos 13 euros for adult, 10 euros for kids, sold at the counter of every shop. Food court with plentiful seating and good fast food, chicken burgers, fries and good salad. Rides super fun. Hyperspace Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain, Tower of Terror (drop ride), all awesome. Phantom Manor underwhelming. Orbitron Flying machines fun but the seats for two are tight, you'll be very cozy.

Yelp
Many restaurants and in November they have a Christmas Market with chestnuts, confectioners, and pretzels. Many Disney shops, a Mc Donald's for the fast food enthusiast ... Almost as good as the Orlando Mc Donald's ... Bit not quite. Lots to see, security is good, and just outside there are the refugees that hustle Paris trinkets by the dozens. No charge to go and perfect if getting gifts or just to eat at a restaurant or two.

Yelp
You do not need a park ticket to visit Disney Village which is great if you want a bit of the Disney fun without having to pay €79 for the park. The village is located right near the train station and shuttle bus area, so it's easy to access from Paris city. They have a few large shops selling bits of merchandise from all the park stores, a movie theatre and a bunch of cafes, stalls and restaurants. In terms of places to eat, I'd been to Planet Hollywood on two occasions which is basically overpriced fast food to sum it up. They also have Annette's diner which is similar in that it's mostly things like burgers and pasta, Rainforest Cafe which has a great atmosphere, is popular with kids and has a few healthy options. Earl of Sandwich cafe isn't bad for a quick meal and they have sandwiches, salads and soup; I quite liked their tomato soup and the prices are below €10. Starbucks and McDonalds have also set up base here, although I noticed that prices are higher than normal. The good thing about Disney Village is the free wifi, although it only seems to work further into the village. Outside are a few candy stalls selling massive candy pops, candy and chocolate apples etc. Overall, a great place to take kids to without having to go into the park.

Yelp
We visited the Disney Village after our recent trip to Disneyland Park and it was very cool! We ended up stopping at the Earl of Sandwich for a late-night dinner and it was very cool to grab a table on the second floor, by the window, and watch the people ride the "hot air" balloon up and down outside.

Yelp
Yep I'm a fan!! What is there not to love?? Mickey? Peter Pan? Star Wars? Buzzzz?? I can go on and on and on. The parc is divided in 4 areas, and they are all great (for both kids and adults). Fantasyland is where you'll find Sleeping Beauty's Castle, Peter Pan's flight and It's a small world among other attractions. Discoveryland is the land of Buzz, Star Tours and of course Space Mountain. Frontierland is for the brave ones who want to visit the Phantom Mansion, Big Thunder Mountain and more. Finally, Adventureland will reveal the Pirate's beach, Indiana Jones, the Pirates of the Caribbean and many more adventures! Welcome to the enchanted and magical world of Disney. If you haven't been there already, don't hesitate, it's as fun for the adults as it is for the kids. Tip: whenever you can, book a fast pass ticket and come back at the time indicated on the ticket, it avoids waiting in line for too long!
