Now take us up to the rooms—what can we expect?Carved wood furnishings and Native American–inspired textiles lend a cozy and relaxed feel to the rooms here. Many have balconies with water views, either of Disney’s Bay Lake or the resort’s man-made geysers and waterfalls. How about the food? Any good dining options onsite?Servers can be a little sassy at Whispering Canyon Cafe, just off the lobby, but if you don’t mind being asked to bring a dozen bottles of ketchup to a neighbor’s table—yes, really—the never-ending skillet of smoked brisket, pulled pork, mashed potatoes, and cornbread is worth it. End your evening with a black-cherry mule at the waterfront Geyser Point Bar & Grill and watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks in the distance. Anything else we should know before planning a visit?Don’t get Wilderness Lodge mixed up with its neighbor, Fort Wilderness. The latter, host to campgrounds and cabins, is popular for its over-the-top Christmas lights. Located on the same site as Wilderness Lodge is Copper Creek Cabins and Villas, a Disney Vacation Club property. The waterfront cabins sleep up to eight adults and have a full kitchen, en suite laundry, and a private hot tub on the screened-in patio. So why would you recommend this property? This hotel offers a fantastic location near the Magic Kingdom and relaxing environment, all for a reasonable rate for a deluxe Disney resort." - Valerie Marino

"An amalgamation of the classic “parkitecture” that defines the lodges of America’s national parks,Wilderness Lodge remains true to its roots while displaying the full pixie-dust treatment. Inspired by Yellowstone National Park’s Old Faithful Inn, the soaring lobby includes a massive 82-foot-high fireplace, 55-foot totem poles carved by master craftsmen, and a hot spring that continues flowing outside and through pine-covered grounds that feature erupting geysers and a waterfall. Fittingly, accommodations feel cabin-like, with western decor and lodge pine furnishings. Guests can rent boats to fish or float on Bay Lake, as well as explore the woodland grounds on jogging trails or rental bike; kids beeline to the pool area with its 67-foot high waterslide built into the rocks, hot and cold whirlpools, and children’s splash zone. A ferry is on hand to take you across the lagoon to the Magic Kingdom, while other parks can be reached via shuttle bus. Circle the wagons for family-style cowboy cuisine at the Old West–themed Whispering Canyons Cafe, or leave the frontier behind for the elegant Pacific Northwest menu at Artist Point, overlooking the resort’s forest. The Wilderness Lodge is a favorite during the winter holiday season, as that tall lobby allows for an awe-inspiring Christmas tree."

Simply love this resort! Had a forest facing room and enjoyed the scenery and peacefulness. Woke up every morning to nature is amazing. Recommend anyone to stay here to enjoy the nature. Though, we did get a connecting room without a need for it and we could hear most of what our neighbors were doing and that was unpleasant. Location was great to all the parks with complimentary bus service to all the parks and for Magic Kingdom there was also the ferry. The lobby was breathtaking the moment we stepped in and we loved every part of the resort.

Update: Ken and the leadership team at Wilderness Lodge connected with us and went above and beyond to improve our experience. They provided excellent service recovery and the customer experience that was missing at initial check-in. Very disappointing experience at Wilderness Lodge. We are Florida residents and have always been loyal Disney fans but will never be staying here again. We booked two adjoining rooms for my husband and 10 month old son and my mom. When we went to check-in, they told us the two room types we booked do not adjoin. I communicated that on the website when booking, it clearly asked if we wanted the rooms adjoining and gave a spot to indicate the last name of the other room. They had no regard for our request and no empathy for our disappointment. When we asked to speak with someone who may be able to help, we were directed to the manager Brianna who was deceitful, cold and unsympathetic. She lied to us and said the reason we did not have adjoining rooms was because the hotel was full. When we expressed our frustration she said there was absolutely nothing she could do to improve our experience. She did not offer any meal vouchers, complimentary valet or even a pin. I would have expected so much better from a Disney brand hotel, especially at the price point of a luxury hotel. I would suggest Brianna be re-trained in customer experience and some type of service recovery be available for unhappy guests.

Absolutely beautiful resort! Every detail is so well thought out in keeping with the rustic wilderness theme. This resort is right on the lake and enjoys gorgeous views and a lovely breeze. Transportation with busses and boats to Magic Kingdom were wonderful especially on a holiday weekend. Beds are incredibly comfortable and the water pressure is fabulous for the shower. The staff is amazing, so helpful and friendly. The pool area is stunning and again so well themed. Honestly the most relaxing environment I’ve ever been in while on a Disney vacation. Highly recommend!

It is a great looking hotel. Customer service is also great. They did give me a different room than requested and said I was upgraded. It overlooked a swamp. They wound up crediting me the difference. A few other issues. Room was near elevator. Your hear the dinging all night long. In addition you heard loud guests always near the elevator. The walls to the rooms are very thin. You hear everything. Also near an ice machine so you hear all getting ice. And finally there are not enough healthy options on the menu. (At all)!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Boulder Ridge Villas at Wilderness Lodge. This section of the resort is beautifully themed and was kept exceptionally clean throughout our visit. The amenities were fantastic - both pools were great and conveniently located without feeling overly spread out. We especially loved the boat transportation to Magic Kingdom - it was a relaxing and scenic way to get to the park. Overall, Boulder Ridge offered the perfect balance of charm, convenience, and comfort. This will definitely be our go-to resort for future Disney vacations!

I stayed with my 6 year old son and it was legitimately the experience of a lifetime. The "fireworks view" rooms are definitely worth it and the staff is incredibly helpful. I also recommend the character dining that is in the lodge, Artisan Point. The food was too notch and every character ensures they interact directly with your table. I highly recommend a stay at the Wilderness Lodge!

I went to have a mom's spa day and room service but was told on-site that these things are no longer available. After walking around the resort following the Disney app to guide me to a spa club that no longer existed was upsetting to me. The bar and grill area was very nice and the bartenders were great. The room is very clean but the noise level coming from the pool area was a bit difficult to try to fall asleep. The staff was pleasant and the resort is very nice and clean. But I wouldn't stay here again. Not for the amount of money I paid.

Absolutely STUNNING and immersive resort! The staff (especially housekeeping) was incredibly kind and helpful! The pool, food, and rooms were all wonderful. Slight view (through trees) of Magic Kingdom fireworks, ferry straight to and from MK, and light boat parade at night were all great surprises! We recommend Geyser Point Bar & Grille, especially on a warm night, for a bite to eat or a drink! The pool being open until 11pm was really nice for taking a swim after the parks. *If you are traveling without children and hope to relax on your vacation, I would personally avoid the pool mid-day, since it tends to be very busy and they host pool games for the kids.* The pool area also played the MK firework show music, so you can listen while you see some fireworks through the trees! Our room faced the main pool (which is a view we recommend), but the sliding balcony door was virtually sound proof, which is important to us. A semi-hidden spot we recommend is the covered seating area out by where you get the ferries. They play immersive music, as does most of the property, and I believe they play the firework music there too! We absolutely loved our stay and hope to be back soon!

Yelp
My husband and I stayed at the Wilderness Lodge for 3 nights on the Old Faithful Club Level floor in a 2 queen bedroom. We did a split stay and we were staying at the Riviera Resort first. We had our bags transferred from Riviera to Wilderness Lodge through bell service. They said our bags would be at its destination after 3pm. So even though we got the text at 9am saying our room was ready, we just hung out at Animal Kingdom and then took a bus to the Wilderness Lodge around 3pm. Upon check-in, a cast member at the front helped us and had another cast member give us a tour of the Old Faithful Club level. It does cost more money per night to stay and have access to this level, but it's worth it! They have complimentary food and beverage services for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert. There were hot food items, snacks, pastries, bottled drinks, and even alcoholic beverages such as wine and beer. This complimentary service did feel somewhat wasted on us since we were eating a lot at the parks, but we tried to taste things here and there. It's a great alternative to avoid spending money on park food and may actually save money if you have a large family to feed. The property is gorgeous and you really feel like you're somewhere in the Pacific Northwest instead of Florida. The room itself was a bit on the small side but it was a perfect size for just my husband and me. The bathroom had a nice vanity and was clean. I think I do prefer the Riviera deluxe studio better for that luxury feel, but the Wilderness Lodge was cozy and comfortable. There's many great eats on the resort property. There were two pool areas that were beautiful along the wilderness landscape. For transportation, we took the ferry to Magic Kingdom which was very convenient. It's about a 10 minute maybe less boat ride. There was only one time where the ferry was running late and we waited about 30 minutes. Otherwise, we only had to wait 10-15 minutes for the ferry. When we did the after hours at Magic Kingdom, they had buses to take us back to the resort after 1am. They also have bus services to Disney Springs and the other parks. We ended up taking a Lyft to Disney Springs since the bus didn't come as frequently to our liking. Overall, this was a great resort to stay at and we enjoyed the convenience of transportation to Magic Kingdom. We loved the wilderness and nature ambiance. It felt super cozy and homey. The club level was a great added on luxury but it is not necessary to enjoy the resort. Would definitely recommend a stay here if the theming is your vibe!

Yelp
This is one of the best resorts on property and definitely one of our family's favorites! The design and theme are splendid, with that lovely Pacific Northwest vibe. Log cabin, cozy fireplace, babbling brook (literally a small creek inside that feeds to the main pool outside!), and soothing background music makes this a real vacation feeling spot. Their restaurants are all amazing and well worth checking out. The staff is fantastic here, possibly better than most other resorts we've stayed at. The amenities are wonderful, even though we hardly make any use of them. The key, though, is how you "feel" like you're isolated in the middle of the woods, while still being a boat-ride away from the Magic Kingdom. If you have small kids or anyone with mobility issues, this is a perfect resort to stay in. While not monorail-adjacent, they do have a boat launch that takes you directly to and from MK. They have efficient bus service like most other resorts as well. This is solidly in the top three of resorts when we think about the best places to stay on property! Impeccably themed to feel remote, yet close to basically everything, it's ideal for a vacation!

Yelp
The Wilderness Lodge was incredible! The rooms are quite spacious and it's so quiet. We had a theme park view room and I definitely recommend that you request that view. We were able to watch the fireworks in the evening and see the castle and monorail during the day. The cast members were great and very responsive to our needs. The quick service dining area was very calm which was perfect since my daughter is one and easily distracted at meal times. We also were able to dine at the storybook dining with Snow White. The theming was incredible at that restaurant and I would encourage everyone to try them out.

Yelp
Amazing stay at the wilderness lodge as they pixie dusted our visit! Originally booked a studio, found ourselves in a two bedroom on the top floor overlooking the bay! Enjoyed the water parade and the great food down in the lobby. Staff. Is helpful and love taking the boat to the magic kingdom. This is our favorite resort for winter stays!

Yelp
Wonderful resort experience. I'm disappointed by reviews that have only positive things to write but only give it 4 stars. It definitely merits 5 stars. We arrived well after check in due to a late flight and so our room was ready for us. We knew we could open the door with our app and magic bands but asked a cast member how to find our room. She was helpful and we easily found our delightful room. We had a breathtaking view of trees, and overlooking a little lantern lit path. We arrived just around sunset and it was wonderful to see the light soften from our spacious balcony. The king bed room was perfect. Lots of space for walking around, as well as two nightstands, two soft chairs (including one with an ottoman), a fairly large fridge, large closet, dresser with ample drawers. The sink area is separate from the toilet and shower, allowing us to get ready simultaneously. And there are two sinks. Only downside is there's only one outlet. Towels are plentiful and soft. There are little hidden Disney characters like chip and dale throughout the room. We loved the light that is in the wall between the bedroom and bathroom which was on a dimmer. We used the lowest setting as a perfect nightlight to not get blinded by the bathroom light if we needed to pee I the middle of the night. The bed is a little soft which I love. I slept better than I ever do on vacation. I'd fall asleep immediately and sleep without turning over for 8 hours straight, waking up feeling refreshed. My husband prefers firmer beds but he thought the bed was fine. Lots of different pillows from soft to firmer. I liked that this deluxe resort is all in one building rather than many of the others where the rooms are often in separate buildings. The lobby is grandiose and cavernous in an awe inspiring way. Plenty of seating in the lobby. Multiple places to get food. We had a reservation at artists point for our first night. We had breakfast daily at roaring fork which had good selection and since its order at the counter, no reservations needed. Definitely worth the price, I would stay here every time I go to Disney.

Yelp
Always a favorite place for us. We enjoy the "lodge" feel of the great, traditional lodges built when the national parks were being developed. This lodge and resort is patterned a and after what one would expect to see at Yellowstone in the main lodge there (or a similar venue). The spaces are beautiful and wide open. The timber and woodworking artistry is amazing. The amenities are wonderful and the resort is just a quick bit ride to the Magic Kingdom or a bus ride to any of the main points at the Disney resort, We highly recommend the lodge and associated points to stay - Copper Creek and Boulder Ridge or Cascade Cabins. The campground isn't far either.

Yelp
This is, hands down, the best resort on property in me and my families opinion! The location is amazing, you can bus to any park but you have a boat option to Magic Kingdom! The firework view rooms are INSANELY AMAZING! the lobby is the most beautiful hotel lobby I've ever seen, it's big and gorgeous. The rooms and spacious, very cute and unlike the value and moderate resorts, you can't hear your neighbors which is fantastic. I love a good Disney value and moderate resort but hearing the neighbors flush the toilets and talk to each other gets really old quickly. Typically we do our long stays at Wilderness Lodge and short stays at the value or moderate resorts. The food here is incredible, every restaurant is great including the quick service dining. Even the quick service dining (Roaring Fork) has tables and they'll bring your food out to you nicely plated. Highly recommend their Pulled Pork Sandwich, Crispy Grilled Cheese and the BBQ platter! Geyser Point is the pool bar restaurant and it's amazing! Best crispy wings on property in my opinion and they have a really cute and tasty campfire mousse dessert! The pool area and kids water play area is awesome! Our son is absolutely bonkers for the Wilderness Lodge pool and kids water play area, he would happily spend all day there. They have two pools and both are great. They play the music for the fireworks at night too which is really nice! Overall, just highly highly recommend! We've stayed well over a handful of times now and every single time has been amazing and unique.

Yelp
As always Whispering Canyon Cafe never disappoints! Known for their amazing skillet meals and funny antics for the waiters, it's a great place to bring the family. On the particular evening that I was there we observed a man asking for ketchup, and then the waitstaff putting about 30 bottles on his table things like that happen all evening. The food is equally delicious. They have a variety of skillet options from breakfast to dinner. I chose the traditional but made some tweaks because of my beef and pork allergy. A traditional looks like this ...Oak-smoked Beef Brisket, Pork Ribs, Slow-smoked Pulled Pork, Citrus-Herb Chicken, Western-style Sausage, Smashed Potatoes, Baked Beans, Buttered Corn on the Cob, Sautéed Green Beans (Price per person) I took out the beef and pork and added salmon. It was wonderful, and did I mention all you can eat! You will leave there are satisfied and stuffed! Their cornbread is phenomenal and comes out as one of the first things before you. If you opt not to want to have one of their skillets there are always main entrées. My friend chose the Cedar Plank Salmon which she said was done to perfection!

Yelp
One of our places to stay while in WDW resort area. Super convenient transportation to Magic Kingdom by boat or by bus A great pool area to makes some splashes Outdoor dinner is a blast, fresh made burgers with fries made your belly happy. Lounge is breathtaking and so cozy to seat and have endless conversation by the fireplace A place you must to try.

Mike Z.

Yelp
After visiting here at least once every trip to Disney we finally got to actually stay here for an extended weekend! We were in the main building, third floor with a water view (aka a view of the pool). Everything was great, we had daily mousekeeping service and the boat transport here is very convenient to get over to the campground for the Hoop Dee Doo review!

Yelp
What we thought would be a wonderful event with our two daughters and 4 grand children turned out to be an incredibly expensive dinner of almost $1K !!! The food and Service was good. The reason for the one star was the expense and the charging of our 2 year-old grandchild a full price meal that she didn't even eat. We tried to not get the meal with the intent of just sharing the meal with her 5 year old sister, but the waitress (Katy) did not allow this; in fact, our daughter felt shamed by even asking. Thinking back, I wish my daughter had said something at the time but they are from out of town and they did not feel like fighting this embarrassing situation at the time. So very disappointed!

Yelp
Unfortunately read the contract after thinking check in was at 4pm they made us wait until 5pm to check in to our 2 bedroom villa. Staff continued to say that there was nothing they could do that it was part of the contract. So PLEASE read your contract before staying in this hotel and thinking your check in is at 4pm.

Yelp
Post Covid not much has changed. But we can see that changes have been made. Most to reduce costs. Yet, the price per night has increased substantially. Luckily we can use DVC points for our stay so increased costs have not impacted us as much as other guests. We only watch our perks erode.

Yelp
What a beautiful resort! Like most Disney resorts, this one does not disappoint, and I wished I had experienced it sooner. Upon arriving, we were immediately greeted by Alan, who's radiant personally embodied the true spirit of the great outdoors and adventure. He was so kind and helped point out how to get to our room. This resort is a superb choice if you're looking for a more laid-back and quiet resort yet dont want to be too far from the fun. The grounds are beautiful, tranquil, and have lots of squirrels and birds that call that area home. Another plus is that you can get to the Magic Kingdom or Contemporary Resort by boat (walking to their boat dock was so enjoyable). They also have buses that can take you to the parks. If you have stayed at the Grand Californian at Disneyland California, then you'll find many similarities, except the Wilderness Lodge looked and felt much bigger than the Grand Californian. The theme of this hotel is the great outdoors, Native Americans, and well, wilderness! We loved all the details in this hotel as you can sit in the lobby and discover so many clever details (like how their chandeliers are little Teepees at the top) there are also totem poles and interesting displays of rocks and minerals and other things. Our room was so comfortable and smelled delightful. The water pressure im our shower was perfect, and the bed was so comfortable. At first like we went through a maze to get to our room, but quickly realized there was an elevator that left us right by the quick service restaurant Roaring Fork. On our visit, we did not get to experience the pool, but it looked awesome, and it had a splash area for the kids. We did visit Whispering Canyon (one of their restaurants) for breakfast and had such a good time! Overall, it was a great stay. The staff stood out above the rest for their friendliness.

Yelp
Territory Lounge is located in the Wilderness Lodge at Walt Disney World. It is just a lounge, so you do not need a reservation. It is on the smaller side so on busy nights you might not be able to grab a table or bar seat. We recently came here as a side stop on the monorail crawl. I don't believe they will allow you to park at the resort to just visit the bar, but if you have reservations at one of the other restaurants you can park at the resort. You can also get to the resort by bus (easiest way is to park at Disney Springs- FREE, and bus it over). You can also take the boat from the Magic Kingdom. It is located on the first floor just off the main lobby. There are a few tables and comfy chairs as well as bar seating. They offer Wine, Bottle Beer, specialty cocktails, a full bar and also some appetizers. For the cocktails, they have a few featured drinks which are mostly whisky, gin and bourbon based. One of their most popular is the S'more Old Fashion: Elijah Craig 12yr Kentucky Straight Bourbon, Toasted Marshmallow and chocolate biters. Our two friends that ordered it, were not the biggest fan of the drink. I did try the S'more since from one of our friends who ordered it and he did feel it was sweet. The marshmallow really through it off and gave it a strong overpowering sweetness. I almost always get an Old Fashioned but not this time. I ordered and went with the Timeless Elias instead. This had The Macallan 12yr Whisky, Courvoisier VSOP Cognac, and house made vanilla syrup. I absolutely loved this! It had just a hint of the vanilla, deliciousness. My wife ordered a standard Espresso Martini, classic and delicious here. For their appetizers they had a wide variety of items including a popcorn sampler, charcuterie board, two flatbreads and more. We ordered the Loaded Baked Potato Flatbread and it had bacon, potatoes, cream cheese and chives. It didn't say it on the menu that it also had sauteed red onions and peas. Neither of those items my wife enjoy at all, so my wife spent a lot of time picking them off. But overall, I really enjoyed this flatbread, it was different and really good. Our friends ordered the Bacon on the Wire which was basically deviled eggs with candied bacon and a bourbon drizzle. This had 3 half deviled eggs and 3 pieces of bacon hanging on a wire. It was a really neat presentation. However, for $25 l thought this was very overpriced. They had 3 half deviled eggs, so 1 and 1/2 eggs and 3 strips of bacon?!?! Way too high! I will say that our friends loved this and completely devoured it. I will say overall for a Disney lounge, this had some really unique appetizers. Overall, this is a great bar with prices that are too high, even though its Disney, its pretty expensive for the amount you get. But I do really enjoy the ambiance and the casualness to the lounge. I would definitely come back here for some quiet time away from the park. Definitely need to check this out!

Yelp
Love the vibe here. Came in the summer but I imagine it would be amazing in the winter, especially at Christmas when they have the huge Christmas tree in the lobby. Arrived around 1ish and room was ready at the 3:00 check in time. We grabbed lunch and went swimming while we waited for the room. Pool is fantastic! Kids play area is one of the best not only because the play structure is engaging, but there is tons of shade and plenty of seating for the parents. It's also enclosed. 10/10 for kids area and the pool overall. Slide was super fun for kids (and adults) of all ages. Rooms were typical, nothing standing out. The boat to MK is super easy and great, scenic little route. Definitely a solid Disney resort for a studio room. Would love to return for one of the cabins!

Jennifer B.

Yelp
Are you a light-peeper like me? Are Christmas lights your favorite color? Then this review is for you... since it's just about the holiday decorations. You can take the ferry from Magic Kingdom but I was coming from Epcot, so I drove over. It was evening and dark already-there were tall trees and dim lighting everywhere and all of that made you feel like you were up in the mountains out west, not in Orlando on an 80 degree day. Now, I've been here before. We stayed one night, back in 1998 and have been here two other times-once for dinner and once for drinks-but at least 15-18 years ago. I knew it was stunning inside but yowza-that first step in! I let out a "wow" that made a woman waiting by the door for her ride, smile. Actually, the outside is super impressive, too. It really is fully immersive. You feel like you've been transported. But that grand lobby... with the soaring ceiling and the timber look... it's stunning. Add a Christmas tree and the babbling brook in the back corner and it's magic time. There's a roaring fireplace with rocking chairs nearby. This is cozy central... worth the little drive off the beaten path-especially this time of year. It's all jolly and jolly, merry and bright, comfort and joy. You'll leave feeling fa-la-la festive.

Yelp
Ever since I was little I would always come back to Disney World. But now since I am adult and I work a lot staycations Armas. This resort is by far my favorites and let me tell you why. From the welcoming staff in the lobby, to the amazing assistance in the Old Faithful club on the seventh floor this resort is warm and inviting and it always has been. I had the pleasure of doing a little staycation with my mom and my boyfriend; she stayed one night and I stayed at the other night with Zach. Everyone upstairs on the club level was so nice - Michael was amazing and so was Sarah. Not only are the restaurants here amazing but the club level is nothing like I've experience. The food on the seventh floor is absolutely scrumptious; to the little hors d'oeuvres that they serve you at dinner to reveal wine and the beer and the make your own charcuterie tray it is definitely a must do if you are staying here!

Kimmy G.

Yelp
This hotel is beautiful and is definitely impressive when you walk in. It makes you feel like your right in the middle of the woods. Rating a Disney hotel is hard because there are a tons of pros. The location of this hotel is great. All the parks and disney springs is just a short bus ride away. You can also take a boat to magic kingdom, which is pretty fun. The things that always get me about Disney hotels is how expensive they are, but how they lack some normal amenities. For instance, after a long day at a park it would be so nice to be able to order room service. They do have restaurants and a quick service/grab and go type market, and they're all decent options, but it would be so nice to be able to order something to your room. Also, as someone who has spent years working in hotels, it would also be nice if they at least offered water bottles in the room. Free water bottles would be nice, but even ones to purchase. There was one bottle refill station at the very front of the hotel, and then we were told we could use the soda fountain area to refill water, but still water stations on the different floors would have been nice. The pool area was great. Our little one loved the water slide and the play area. One of the things they did really well at Aulani is that they don't let people just claim chairs and leave their stuff on them all day you have to actually be using them, or they clear the chairs. That wasn't the case here. People just claimed chairs in the shade and rarely went back to them. Especially in that FL sun sharing the shade would be great. The food here was fine. There were a decent amount of options. You can order ahead on your phone which is nice. I wish there were a few more healthier options, but we always found something. If you haven't stayed at a Disney hotel I recommend doing it at least once, and this one is a great option.

Yelp
I just stayed at the Wilderness this past weekend. Although it was a great experience, I left slightly upset and on edge with an experience I had. We left super early this morning (Sunday). We got pack from the parks and our dinner around 10:30 PM last night (Saturday). We pulled up to the hotel with multiple police cars. We didn't think much of it until we got to our floor and the cops were two doors down from us, in the hallway with two guests and a few hotel workers. I used to hotel phone to make sure everything was okay and they told me it wasn't a safety issue. I understand not telling details, but was confused why the situation had to be addressed in the hallway. Two hours later, the officers, guests, and workers were still in the hallway right outside my door. I called the desk again to confirm the situation and simply ask why it had to be dealt with right in the hallway. I feel terrible for whatever the circumstance was, but as a paying guest, I would prefer to not be talked to so rudely. The phone operator for Disney Resorts transferred me to the head of security. The head of security was incredibly rude to me and talked in a rude tone. The man made me feel like I had no right to ask any type of question, and told me an officer can come to my door when the situation is handled. Yet, it was midnight and I had an early flight the next day. I really didn't want any details from the situation, but I would hope the head of security could recognize why it is unsettling feeling going to bed knowing there's 5 cops right outside my door for two hours. I understand that I was probably overthinking, but was just curious why the situation couldn't be handled in the lobby, outside, or in their room. Instead, I was talked down to and questioned why I would be uncomfortable.

Yelp
I've visited Disney's Wilderness Lodge several times to try their various on-site dining options, but had the opportunity to stay at their resort a few weeks ago for the first time. Being a Californian with Disneyland being my 'home park,' Disney's Wilderness Lodge immediately gave me Disney's Grand Californian vibes...but the 1.0 version since the Wilderness Lodge is an obvious predecessor to it's sister resort in California. However, don't let the mention of it being older deter you from its beauty because the lodge and property are gorgeous. The space is well-maintained and well-cared for. The rooms seem to also have been renovated as well. The amenities are nothing shy of what any other guest staying on the Seven Seas Lagoon may have access to, other than the monorail. Overall, a good first stay. Disney's Wilderness Lodge is categorized as a Deluxe Resort and is located in the Magic Kingdom area of the Walt Disney World property. As noted, they have many of the same amenities as the other Deluxe Resort properties on the Seven Seas Lagoon other than monorail access. They do have boat service to and from the Magic Kingdom. The Wilderness Lodge is also home to the Copper Creek Villas and Cabins as it is also a DVC property. We stayed in a standard room at the lodge. The room was pristinely clean, had subtle accents to Disney with an obvious emphasis on its natural theming of being in the 'wilderness,' and had ample for room for a family of four. Beds were extremely comfortable. We often stay at the Animal Kingdom Lodge - Jambo House, and the room we were assigned to stay in at the Wilderness Lodge had basically the same layout. We appreciated the high beds to tuck our suitcases and other belongings under to conserve space and the many electrical outlets to ensure everyone had charged up devices and magicbands for our visits to the parks. We lucked out and got a room in the main building fairly close to the elevators, so after a long day at the parks, we didn't have to navigate through the maze of hallways that the WDW Deluxe Resorts are often famous for in their design. The hotel is also home to the Whispering Canyon Cafe and the very popular Storybook Dining at Artist Point with Snow White. (I've dined at both and have positive reviews for them from previous visits.) Both restaurants are conveniently located in the main building on the first floor, which were both easy to access during our stay. Bus service is available to all of the parks and Disney Springs. The bus service is shared with the Contemporary. The Wilderness Lodge also has it's own gift shop with many items you'll see around the park and some exclusive merchandise for the Wilderness Lodge. Another unique feature of the Wilderness Lodge (and other resorts on the Seven Seas) is that guests can catch the classic Water Pageant. Check the resort guide for the nightly time of when it may make it to the area of the water at the Wilderness Lodge. Overall a positive first stay at Disney's Wilderness Lodge. We were not too wow'ed by the hotel staff, other than the young bell boy who brought our bags to our room on our first night. Most of the CMs we interacted with seemed to be bothered with questions or not very warm. This was our only drawback of the experience, but if the price is right, we wouldn't hesitate to return to have the same access and amenities as the other Magic Kingdom resorts.

Yelp
I love the Wilderness Lodge. The ambiance, the architecture, everything about it is beautiful. The Springs are fun to watch erupt, the pools are large and relaxing. There is a walking trail so you can enjoy the beautiful landscaping. Rooms are well-appointed and large. I love sitting on the balcony enjoying the beautiful sites and weather and people-watching. They have an outdoor area with a pool table, foosball table, and ping-pong. I must say these get a lot of use and do show wear and tear on some of it. The foosball table is very wobbly and could use a replacement for sure. Staff is always very polite and do their best to accommodate requests. I just think it's one of the prettiest resorts in the area by far!

Yelp
Stayed here for 5 nights with my wife and came away feeling the even higher room rates being charged post pandemic are no where near justified. The checkin process was terrible. The room was very comfortable with a terrific view but the accompanying housekeeping was almost non-existent. Food service at the hotel quick restaurant was all but quick. The pools though were nice and enjoyable. Transportation has been cut back to the point though where we just drove our car everywhere we needed to go. Driving to the hotel through the pine forest, we were transformed and felt like we had returned to the wilderness. Pulling up to the front door around 6pm on a Sunday evening the wilderness feeling continued as we were unable to find/get help from a bellman with our car full of bags. We couldn't even find a baggage cart outside and had to scour the lobby ourselves to find one. Once we got everything loaded we had to wait in a short line for over 20 minutes to check-in. They only had a couple workers behind the desk and at one point everyone was working on a single problem check-in. Reaching our room, things looked up. The room was large with two comfy queen beds. Our view overlooked the pool in the courtyard from the top floor and provided the perfect sunrise over the lake view on the mornings. We had a tub shower which was disappointing but still functional with a rain shower and body spray heads. Shampoo, conditioner and body gel are all dispensed from wall mounted bottles. They provided four sets of towels which was just enough for their every other day replenishment. Apart from refreshing the towels and emptying the trash every other day, no other services were performed. It was like being at home making our bed everyday. Breakfast service at the quick service restaurant was terrible. It took over 30 minutes from the time of ordering to get our food and there weren't that many people waiting. Same thing happened the next morning as well. We resorted to mobile ordering when they first opened, indicating we were waiting and then showed up 30 minutes later to pick up our food. Apart from the room, the other high point was the pools. The courtyard pool can get busy but we found the other pool by the vacation club rooms was very quiet, had plenty of seating, was heated, had a shower in their restrooms but did though not have any lifeguards. Lastly, transportation has been cut back to the point that we just drove ourselves everywhere including the theme parks, restaurants and shopping. Buses were running about every 30 minutes it seemed and just not convenient. They have eliminated the boat service to Fort Wilderness. You can't even walk there any more as the path is closed due to construction I think. They do still run a boat over to the Magic Kingdom. One good thing is your paid parking at the hotel gets you free parking at the Parks. Our stay overall just didn't feel magical.

Yelp
This place was amazing! Loved the theme! It really felt like we were in a lodge in the woods. The tree was magnificent!

Yelp
wilderness Lodge is the worst experience ive had in my 30 years of visiting Disney. for three nights in a row, I've been sleep deprived by pounding, clicking, scraping and slamming noises coming from above us. or is it below us? some motor or machine us revving up and down periodically. NOTHING is helping to drown out the noise. This goes without mentioning the insanely loud music blasted by Disney at 9:30 -10pm, or the Spanish-speaking only cleaning lady slamming chairs in the lobby at 3am. Walt is rolling in his grave.

Benjamin T.

Yelp
First impressions were not the best as our room wasn't ready by 3 pm but closer to 6pm. We paid 1000$ for mickeys after hour tickets so we wanted our girls to nap before the even which they could not. Not pixie dust but we did receive a sorry for the trouble. The amenities are nice. Although there is no microwave to warm up food when getting back from late night hours. This doesn't make sense when the access to them closes. It keeps guest from ordering food they can't reheat and instead has them spend money on Uber eats and DoorDash. Food was good at whispering canyon and roaring fork. Even after the pandemic panic hiring. The good cast members were at this resort. As always DWL never disappoints during Christmas and is IMO the best resort to stay at for that Holiday feel!

Yelp
Great visit, but need to warn about the remodeled rooms. If you sleep with socks beware of the VERY slippery floors! I got up to go to the restroom about 5am and in getting out of bed I slipped , fell and bruised my back and knee. There are no rugs in the room! So I advise to wear non slip socks when staying at this resort

Yelp
Terrific hotel resort for couples and families alike. Awesome hotel staff could not have been nicer. My young kids aged five and nine love the pool area with the slide. They were so amazed when they first entered into the lobby of the hotel because it's absolutely beautiful. If you're looking to hit magic Kingdom, it's a really convenient ferry ride that takes about 10 minutes right to the entrance of the Magic Kingdom. The service is all the other parks.

Pravash M.

Yelp
You wouldn't think it given the name but this place, in a word, is: IMPRESSIVE! Encounter gated security, close proximity self parking lots, a larger than life lobby decorated for Christmas, only to be greeted on every arrival with "welcome home" by engaging staff. CONVENIENT TIME SAVING transportation options to Disney parks and properties; the water taxi to Magic Kingdom is 10min, which easily saved us an hour! Pool and river amenities for aquatic adventure. Table service and quick service dining, plus a shop with a liquor cabinet. Cabins on Copper Creek are LEGIT! Multiple fireplaces, indoor and outdoor, not to mention a walk in jacuzzi on the outdoor deck that's completely screened in. Kitchen/bar/dining area accommodates groups of all sizes (tables seat 8); kids were enthralled by the TVs in the bathroom mirrors; ok adults too! Bedrooms are across the hall from each other for just the right amount of closeness AND privacy; beds are comfy and cozy. For now, everything is controlled through magic bands but I believe this is being moved to smart phone app soon.

Yelp
Beautiful lobby. In perfect Disney detail. They have a huge fireplace that I hear is nice during Florida's "winter" and put up a huge tree in the lobby. Feels very cozy. Free parking.

Julia H.

Yelp
The attention to detail in the lodge's architecture is truly remarkable. From the towering totem poles at the entrance to the rustic wood beams and stone walls inside, every element has been carefully crafted to evoke the feeling of a grand yet cozy lodge. The lobby is centered around a massive stone fireplace, making you feel like you're in another world. We are DVC members and the hotel room itself was rustic with wood furnishings and rich, earthy colors. The only con about staying at Disney's Wilderness Lodge, compared to some other resorts, is that it's not very close to anything else; you can't take the monorail or boats, and the only transportation is buses. I would probably choose Animal Kingdom Lodge before Wilderness Lodge solely because I want to see the African animals outside my balcony, but overall I recommend the hotel to anyone looking for a unique and unforgettable stay.

Yelp
One does not have to be a Wilderness Lodge Guest to experience the greatness at this resort. We came here to check out their glorious grounds. Their Xmas tree is amazing beyond belief. The resort is huge and beautiful and you definitely feel like you are at a mountain lodge. I loved the waterfall and apparently there is a geyser that goes off every hour. I enjoyed visiting this resort. It has quite a wonderful character!

Kislev A.

Yelp
Many different reasons why this resort is great. The Red Ferry Line picks you up from the resort's lodge and drops you off at Magic Kingdom Park's front door. Electric Boat Parade at night. They project/blast the audio from the Magic Kingdom's nighttime fireworks show in their outdoor speakers in time with the fireworks visible from their "backyard". Backyard movie nights. Water playground. Variety of lodging (hotel room style, condo style, villa/cabin style).

Deepa B.

Yelp
it was so beautiful they had lots of food and drinks and restaurants. They had a boat to go to magic kingdom.

Steven W.

Yelp
I have explored Disneys Wilderness Lodge from top to bottom, eaten at Whisper Canyon Grill, shopped in the stores, ordered a Bison Burger and sat at the lake for serenity and explored the vacation club tour. I've done everything but stay in the rooms. But the hotel itself is just magnificent with fun for all ages just on the property alone. You can get to the Magic Kingdom by boat.

Amanda B.

Yelp
Best Disney vacation club property! Lives our studio at copper creek. At first, was a little bummed to have a first floor room but it ended up being so handy because we had fast access to outside for all the food and amenities, plus we didn't have to deal w a elevator with our stroller. Stayed in room 1149, and it was great. Only Thing different I would request is being on the opposite side of the hall, no facing the pool but instead facing the Boulder creek so I could pop right out my patio for coffee (couldnt pop out in pool side due to garden they have). Absolutely loved this place and I would even pay cash to go back. Only thing I hate, and this is an issue w WDW in general, is that you don't get preference at the restaurants for staying in that hotel. We luckily had walk up to artist point due to the hurricane causing cancellations, but we could not get reservations and if not for a literal act of god, we would not have been able to go to our hotel's restaurant.

Yelp
A delayed review (trip was end of July/ beginning of August 2022) and a mixed review. The Cast Members were easily the highlight of the trip. They are under staffed, under paid, and in most cases under appreciated.. Now for the bad. The value for what you pay to stay at a Disney resort is missing. Deluxe Resorts that cannot maintain their own bus service (sharing a bus between multiple resorts before or after a theme park) Water transportation to other resorts eliminated. Maintenance of hotel features scheduled for the summer (read most expensive) season. I have been going to WDW for almost 30 years and imho it is not worth it to stay on property anymore. If you want value for what you pay check out the Universal Orlando resorts

Joseph K.

Yelp
favorite on property resort. Go see Brooke at Geyser Point - a great server on staff. I recommend the fried chicken sandwich paired with a glass of the Chateau St. Michele Riesling.

Brittney L.

Yelp
We had an AMAZING time at the Wilderness Lodge. This was our first stay at a Disney resort and I don't know how we will be able to stay anywhere else from here on out! Ground (and boat) transportation was so easy, our kids had an amazing time and Joey gave us great service at Whispering Canyon Cafe! We had a rough time with the car rental company and after a long day of traveling - Joey just lifted our spirits and was so accommodating to our sons allergies with his meal!

Yelp
Talk about the perfect place to stay for the Holidays! Had a DVC Villa in the Boulder Ridge condos and had everything we could need .. .. Just sitting in that beautiful lobby, in front of the fireplace with that tremendous Christmas Tree just off to the side, I honestly felt sad to leave .. .. sad .. .. For me, this property embodies every single thing Christmas should be .. ..

Yelp
Wow. That's literally all I could say about our stay here. Just, wow. Everything is amazing from the amazing theming to the customer service to the comfort of the rooms. We were in a grand villa in Copper Creek. Everything is new and modern and we absolutely loved our stay. It was an absolutely impressive room. Our balcony looked out over the geyser and we caught the Electrical pageant every night from our private balcony. The customer service is spot on. Everyone was amazing. Cast Members greeted us whenever we walked by. Everyone was so friendly. The pool area is gorgeous. The splash area was much loved by my 5 year old. My 7 year old loved the slide in the main pool. Everyone was immaculate and well maintained. The food in all of the the restaurants was delicious. I would recommend the salmon salad and the bison burger at the outdoor quick service by the lagoon. We also had dinner at Whispering Canyon Cafe. The food was plentiful and delicious. Don't forget to ask for ketchup! We can't wait to have another stay at the Wilderness Lodge!

Yelp
I've stayed now at several Disney resort hotel properties both value and deluxe since joining DVC. This has to be my all time favorite and it is absolutely beautiful. Not only is the property gigantic and spacious, the rooms are nicely decorated and very comfortable. The layouts at least for the DVC rooms are similar to other resorts and contain similar features. The grounds of this place (we were there November Thanksgiving) are beautifully decorated and there are several fireplaces throughout. Two pools on the grounds are large, waterside in one was ok but could have been bigger, no pool bars at either pool but a very large bar/restaurant shared Geyser Point which was great. The inside of the main lodge was awesome and huge and the onsite restaurants of course are great especially Artists Point. Just an awesome stay and transportation to the parks was frequent and easy and close to all parks.

Yelp
We had such a magical time at the restaurant. We had Nikki as our server and o my was she great. My daughter said that this was the best day ever because of her.Food was very good.Nikki interacted with my kiddo and was fabulous. Highly recommend this place.Thank you Nikki for a great experience

Yelp
I've stayed at Disney's Wilderness Lodge on two separate occasions and I'd say the location is great! You can easily take the boat to Magic Kingdom and free bus it over to the other parks. The room I stayed at the first time was a regular hotel room. It was your standard hotel room. Nothing fancy. The second time I stayed at Copper Creek and the place was really nice. I like how the villas have a washer and a dryer. It has plenty of storage space and has all the appliances you need to cook in your room.

Alyson B.

Yelp
Loved it !! Would come back again stayed in may if this year which awesome !!!!!!!! Yesss :)

Myke K.

Yelp
My family was very excited to stay at a Disney resort as this was our first time staying at any Disney resort. We had high expectations but was met with a number of disappointing issues from the moment we got there. We pulled up and there was no one in sight for at least 10 minutes to help us with our luggage. Finally my wife went inside to the front desk to ask for assistance. Once we got to our room, we noticed the courtyard view room we booked was just a view of a huge tree blocking any sort of view. Keep in mind we paid extra for a room with a view. Not to mention the room was dusty and had left over candy all over the floor which we had to pick up ourselves as we were traveling with a toddler! We complained twice to the front desk and they were of no assistance saying they don't have any rooms to offer us. After making us wait about 15 minutes, we spoke to what seemed to be a manager and he wreaked of cigarette smell. I assume that's why we had to wait so long. On to the Whispering Cafe for breakfast, we arrived about 25 minutes early from our reservation time and asked to be seated early. The restaurant was about 30% full but the man checking us in said he cannot guarantee seating us early. Wow. We ended up getting seated 5 minutes before our reserved time after waiting for 20 minutes in a restaurant that was over half empty. We love the hotel but the customer service here was embarrassing, especially being a Disney Resort. Not the way we envisioned our first experience. I even went so far as to send a complaint via email to Disney because I truly think it needed to be addressed and never got a response.

Darrin B.

Yelp
Here's a tip, I love WDW, but...... the resorts will not always let you in unless you have reservation. We decided to drive to Wilderness Lodge to have a drink and light lunch and use our new Tables in Wonderland card. We DID NOT have a reservation, but we were prepared to stand by for a table and sit at the lounge bar. But the guard at the gate denied us access to the resort. So we drove off property and ate and drank.

Yelp
We had a great time visiting Disney's Wilderness Lodge! While this resort did not make my top 5 favorite Disney resorts, the grounds of the resort are very pretty and definitely worth checking out at least once. Disney's Wilderness Lodge celebrates the great northwest American National Parks Service lodges with a beautiful 8-story, split-log lodge by the same architect who designed Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge and Disney's Grand Californian Resort. In the resort lobby, there are 4 large Native American inspired tepee chandeliers, 2 tall 55-foot high totem poles, multi-colored Native American style flooring, and an 82-foot tall fireplace which is a recreation of the strata of the Grand Canyon. With Over 100 colors, 2 billion years are represented in the time it took for the layers of rock to form. A beautiful natural looking hot spring originates inside the Wilderness Lodge lobby, continues outside, flows into a pretty waterfall, and flows all the way to the swimming pool to add a very serene natural look to the property. Follow the springs path behind the pool area to see a really cool 120 foot Fire Rock Geyser that erupts hourly from 7am to 10pm. The Silver Creek Springs Pool is fed from the hot spring originating in the lobby and is encompassed in a small forest of trees and rocks. The pool's water-slide is built into quite a pretty natural looking rock formation but unfortunately is a bit too short and shorter than the slide at many other resorts. Next to the pool, there is a very hot tub, mild temperature hot tub, and a kids interactive water play area with 2 slides for kids only. There is an additional quiet pool area is entirely separated from Silver Creek Springs Pool, located at the Boulder Ridge Villas. Other activities include: an arcade, jogging trail, volleyball courts, camp fire s'mores, nightly movies on the beach, volleyball courts, gym, sauna, fishing excursions for a fee, bike rentals for a fee, Wonders of the Lodge Art and Architecture Tour, nightly Electrical Water Pageant Boat Parade. For a natural feel, I prefer the Animal Kingdom Lodge Resort over the Wilderness Lodge because the slide is longer, the place has more animal interactions, and more hot tubs.
