On the Grid : District

"There's definitely a MadMen-esque vibe to this place, complete with a liquor cart and a bottle of whiskey to go with it. This shop collects some of the best pieces from the 1950s and 60s, some showing wear but never tear. They sell these beauties alongside modern accessories. We especially love their plant stands, which happen to be custom-made by District themselves. Here, you'll find things like pillows, tables, old metal letters, deer heads, sofas, artwork, lamps and a sweet Charles Eames lounge chair. Since most things are one-of-a-kind, their inventory is always changing. So what you see here may be there today, gone tomorrow! Be sure to check out Alapash next door." - Knoed Creative

I found the perfect vintage hutch at this location. I was ready to purchase on the spot, credit card in hand. While I was in the store, the salesperson contacted someone else that had expressed interest the hutch, in which the person frantically bought the hutch over the phone. The hutch didn’t have a “sold” or “pending sale” sticker on it anywhere. I’ve always thought furniture stores have always been first come first serve. Very disappointing. I was also in the market for a new sofa and coffee table, which I was planning on buying from them as well. There are numerous furniture stores on this strip, so I will take my business elsewhere.

I recently bought multiple items from District, including a stunning green and white marble dining table. Randa and her crew are a great team with top notch service with a sharp eye for design. Check them out!

Having been buying furniture from Chris since before he had this beautiful storefront! He curates an amazing collection of vintage and new pieces and carries great home accessories.

I bought my Gus sofa from District about two years ago and will always prioritize buying furniture from District above purchasing at corporate stores. The pieces featured in the store showcase the eye for design and passion for aesthetic that I’ve come to associate with District. I love design, and a good portion of the photos I have on my phone are screenshots of pieces I have my eye on at District. Moreover, when you walk into the store, you are greeted by longterm employees and often the store’s owner. When you walk in, you get the sense that this business is a stronghold of the community. Wishing you all the best as you move to your new home in Andersonville!

Love this place! Staff is always so patient and goes above and beyond to be courteous and helpful in any way imaginable. Quality of furniture is great and prices are reasonable. I come back often even if just to browse for inspiration! I wish their space was bigger with even more to check out (there's a website though!)

Walked by couple of weeks ago and saw a desk we liked, great service and honestly priced very well for such good quality furniture. Very satisfied, 5 stars.

So sad because had purchased multiple items prior to a bad experience. We were sourced a dining table by an employee from one of their “vendors” without any more information on the invoice as to where it was from just that we were getting “20% off”. Upon receipt, I quickly realized it was a table I had seen on multiple sites including bed bath and beyond and wayfair for almost 1k less!!!!! I love to support small business but to “source” a table that I could have clicked and used a coupon to buy for a lot less saddened me. I did not expect a mass produced, easy to find, item. I emailed the store and was left without answers.

Really incredible pieces for very reasonable prices. Kind and thoughtful employees. Loved the dresser I bought there recently! They do the restorations so thoughtfully. When I did more research on the piece I bought, I learned just how good of a deal it was (which is dangerous for my future budget). Will definitely be back to buy more from these lovely folks!
