District Winery

District Winery has long been a favorite wedding venue of ours to work at! It is effortlessly beautiful with modern yet industrial touches that make for beautiful wedding photos. The wrap-around rooftop and waterfront views are also a wonderful draw to this venue. Definitely check it out if you're getting married in D.C!

My husband and I had a wonderful time at District Winery! We did the date night tour, which included a seated tasting in the wine making room with Tonya. You try 5-6 wines and she explains the wine making process and you discuss tasting notes—it’s a lot of fun! We then had a reservation, where we had a complimentary glass of wine and ordered some amazing food to share. They had a new menu, which was exciting. The chicken nuggets were amazing but the salmon, agnolotti and focaccia were also great! Highly recommend :)

Spent a chill Friday evening at District Winery. Even with it being the holiday season and multiple events happening at the same time, they still accommodated walk-in guests—which says a lot about how well they run multiple spaces with different crowds. The customer service was solid across the board. The host was kind, and our servers, Kai and Sydney, were attentive and easy to engage with. Sydney knows her wine and recommended two I really enjoyed—the Riesling and the Grenache Blanc. I absolutely recommend the Stag Cheddar, Pimento Cheese Spread & Short Rib Bourguignon. I’m looking forward to coming back with my friends and spending more time on the abundant patio space with the beautiful waterfront views.

We stopped by District Winery on National Espresso Martini Day, and the universe clearly approved — our server surprised us with a few to sample, and they were chef’s kiss! 🍸 The atmosphere is equal parts chic and chill — that gorgeous waterfront view, warm lighting, and a crowd that’s more “wine-and-conversation” than “shots-and-chaos.” The food was beautifully plated and flavorful (highly recommend the small plates if you’re sharing). Service was friendly and attentive, though it did slow down a bit once the dinner rush hit — hence the four stars instead of five. Still, everyone kept their smiles and charm. Perfect spot for a date night, a girls’ evening, or anyone who enjoys a glass of wine with a view and a touch of class. ✨

This is my regular spot to go to since I live very close to the location; though let me inform you that I have never been dissatisfied nor have I been unimpressed with the food, service, and overall atmosphere :) ! The first time I visited here, I automatically bought the membership for the monthly wine subscription. The wine was superb, the staff were even better. They have a wonderful staff consisting of Tim, Natalie, Shawn, Hailey, and various others who are excellent in relaying their knowledge of wine. Always taking out the time to greet even in busy hours. They’re just overall wonderful company to enjoy while drinking/eating/enjoying the ambiance of the restaurant. Though I’m usually at the wine bar, in the restaurant they have a wonderful bartender Brooke that is so welcoming and kind— her drinks are so delicious!! Gerald is always kind to greet us if he happens to walk in the vicinity and he has such a lovely big smile, I honestly have not experienced a staff where everyone is genuinely pleasant to be around. I’m so happy that I sought out this place because for months I’ve enjoyed myself so much each time being here. Honorable mention also pertains to the chefs, as they create wonderful charcuterie boards and dishes that are so so flavorful. Chef Steph and Chef Donovan know how to create a wonderful experience through a dish to customers, even without directly being in front of them. That is a very admirable skill, and dinner is an absolute favorite of mine to partake in there. Overall, go!!! It’s so so good and you will not be disappointed in any category:) (All of the pics are of drinks and charcuterie, my two favorite things in the world lol)

My now husband and I celebrated our wedding at District Winery this past weekend and we couldn't have asked for a better venue. Some of our friends attended weddings here and said the staff does such a terrific job, but they honestly went above and beyond our expectations. The location is phenomenal- close to the airport and National Mall, by the water and surrounded by greenery. The wood is beautiful and the terrace is unmatched. The staff is even better. Laura Barbieri was the one who showed us the venue and we were immediately sold. Chef Nicholas and Chef KeVaughn cooked outstanding Indian food, even though that isn't typical of District Winery. Because 1/2 of our guests can't tolerate spice and the other 1/2 can't tolerate not having something to set their mouth on fire, they served dishes with a side of diced chilies which several guests said was an amazing touch. Chef Nicholas even took time to hang out with us in the bridal suite while everyone was at cocktail hour and we were changing from our ceremony to reception outfits. That meant a lot. Sydney was our dedicated server for the reception. My husband asked if he could have a sugar free Redbull and she said the venue doesn't carry that. He said, "no problem." We got up from the sweetheart table to say hi to people and were back less than 10 mins later. We saw a SF Redbull can and wondered where it came from. Sydney literally ran down the block, went to Harris Teeter, bought SF Redbull and brought it back just for him. I have never seen or heard of that kind of service in my life! Kat Excellent was our wedding planner and her last name says it all. She's simply the best. She's professional, punctual and a great communicator. Most importantly, she's fun and made our wedding planning process and wedding day better than we could have imagined. District Winery hosts weddings every weekend (sometimes multiple in a weekend). You will forget us but we will never forget you. THANK YOU!

We did a scheduled wine tasting - 5pm on a Saturday. It’s just a seated tasting in the barrel room, not an actual tour - but we learned a lot and had a great time!! Only notes to improve: a snack of some sort would be good with the tasting, even if it’s just a pallette cleaning saltine. The club & purchasing process at the end is really confusing. It’s $22, but some are $28, but it’s more if you want to stay. I’m still unsure cleaning that schema up would be helpful!

I took my friend here for a wine tasting and tour for her birthday, we had the best time ever! The whole team was amazing from beginning to end. Epiphanie was so sweet since we first arrived all the way until we left. Tonya gave us an amazing wine tasting and tour, she was so informative and made sure to interact with all the participants. To our surprise we happened to sit next to the new manager Swati (congratulations!) we didn’t know she was the new manager until the end lol. It was such a pleasure talking with Swati, she even told us to speak with John afterwards about my friend getting a birthday flight. John was such a treat! We loved his blazer, it was too cute, and he really gave us a great run down on the different wines. Additionally, Maddie and Katie were so sweet they gave my friend and I a compliment. Laquita was amazing as well, we had a lovely conversation with her as she also helped me decide on what wines to get for my flight. I’ve never experienced such a wonderful team, everyone was so nice and a breath of fresh air. We’ll definitely be back, we can’t wait! I HIGHLY recommend going, it’s well worth it. Thank you all again for making my friend’s birthday such a treat!
