We had a tasty meal here, though I noticed a decline in quality compared to my visit a couple of years ago. It was my first time trying puntarelle, which was very fresh and flavorful. Our waitress was friendly and offered great guidance when choosing our wine. However, another server started clearing dishes before everyone had finished, which felt a bit rushed, especially since we were the last sitting of the day.

Google
Delicious meal! We stumbled upon this restaurant by chance and had a great time. The wait staff were all very attentive and the food was fantastic! The "Tagliolini al nero" was the best of the dishes we ordered, but they were all amazing. Truly a wonderful discovery. The only negative was that the water wasn't running when I went to wash my hands :( hopefully not a recurring issue

Google
Great little local spot recommended by a local. We were a group of 4 and loved the food, the service and the wine, all at a very reasonable price. If you’re looking for a reliable local spot and want to be sure to avoid some of the ‘tourist trap’ restaurants, try Ditirambo!

Google
"Oh, so this is how pasta supposed to taste like" I think, having a bite out of one of the raviolis, already thinking if it's allowed to order another plate, and after how many they will cut me off (or how many could my bank account support). The food is stunning here, the absolutely best pasta I have ever tasted, period. It's cooked and seasoned to perfection, with all the flavors flawlessly complementing each other. That's it, no notes. The service is lovely, too - the lady that's serving us is welcoming, smiling, approachable. The sfoglina in the window is tiredlessly making the pasta, which, contrary to some of the tourist traps, actually ends up on somebody's plate - it's not just for the show. We settle the bill with one of the owners, shamelessly burrying him with complements, sipping on our limoncellos. This is the Italian dream, and Ditirambo is a must-visit.

Google
Unforgettable experience, wonderful service for a couple and our toddler, and the best meal we had in Rome.

Google
Food was the saving grace. Service wasn't great - getting their attention took a lot of effort. At the end, they insisted that we leave a tip, which we would have if we had an overall great experience, but to be reminded a few times that 'the bill doesn't include tips' just left an unpleasant mark.

EDIT#2 Always excellent. Always innovative I would give more stars if I could. I had a fantastic meal here. High quality original Italian food with Roman dishes and recipes from the rest of the peninsula. Excellent appetizers (vegetable trio is a MUST) and plenty of seafood dishes, not easy to find in Rome. Good wine and beer list... and limoncello! Service is attentive and polite. The restaurant has outdoor and indoor seating on a lovely side street. I can't wait to go back. EDIT: alway an amazing experience. One of the best restaurants in Rome.

Google
We had the suckling pig and the beef ravioli. The suckling pig was fatty, filling, and tender, but the ravioli was nothing special. Great service!

Yelp
The first night we came here the food and service was outstanding. So much so we return for a second dinner, however food and service were not as good. Nothing bad to say, but just not outstanding. The price for Rome is average to high. The vibe is great when busy but a little squished.

Yelp
We secured a reservation via their website. No wait time, as we can late in the night, 10PM. Service was good & so was the food. Their vegetable lasagna was one of our favorite dishes during this trip, highly recommend it!

Yelp
This was a 5 star review that became 3 stars after the meat was brought out. We had a reservation for 7 pm, arrived a bit earlier and were quickly seated at a table outside. There were a few cocktails offered, and an extensive wine list, mostly Italian with a few French additions. I found a decent bottle in Piedmont section for $39 (Nebbiolo/Vespolino blend). Food started on a high note - Burrata with diced vegetables was delicious, frito misto was also very tasty. I had rigatoni all carbonara made with guanciale, very tasty. Eggplant Parm was beautifully creative and tasty, and lasagna was also excellent. If we would stop there, this would be a five star review. But kids wanted meat, and so we ordered breaded lamb chops and steak special (medium rare). Big mistake. The meats were of a very poor quality - both were impossible to chew on, and overall just bad. It was bad enough to spoil the impression of otherwise a very good meal. Good service, no complaints.

Yelp
One of the three most unwelcome dining experiences during our 12 days in Rome. I carefully selected this place for lunch based on reviews, and had I realized the woman managing the restaurant would be so unpleasant, I would have gone somewhere else. In addition to being unfriendly, service was very intermittent from both her and the server who ultimately took care of us. I almost felt like getting up once or twice to signal them to come over. Lunch consisted of Mezza Luna Orata (hall moon pasta with sea bream inside), €16.50, and Osso Bucco (veal shank), €17. Pasta dish was dry, and poor ratio of fish to the ravioli. Osso buco was also on the dry side and not tender the way it's supposed to be. Flavor was good however. Add in the usual pane charge of €2 pp, and 4 glasses of wine at average price of €6.50, grand total came to €64. Not a place I'd recommend as we had much better experiences and food at several other places.

Yelp
I am very happy with this place. We happened upon it because all the other restaurants we planned for were booked. However this place really surprised us with good food, prices, and service. We got the cacio el pepe and the appetizer triplet. I won't say much about the food because it wasn't so impressionable in a good or bad way. The food was definitely tasty, especially for how simple it looked. However I was very satisfied with the kindness, speed, and amicability of the waiters and servers. Dim lighting inside with chill vibes. Can bring a date here or your family.

Yelp
The amatriciana ravioli special I had at Ditirambo changed my life. The tartufo we had for dessert did it again. Ditirambo is worth every penny. The interior is charming, quiet enough to have a conversation but you can still hear some hustle and bustle. The wine list is great, and I especially appreciated the way that they feature wines from Lazio. Great local food should be paired with great local wine! The service was perfectly friendly. My only knock is that we asked for bread, which the waiter promptly brought out without plates. The plates didn't come until the appetizer came. This had me thinking to leave 4 stars, but the minute I tasted the ravioli all was forgiven. Do not miss out on Ditirambo.

Yelp
Stopped here each time we were in Rome. Wait staff were friendly. We enjoyed the food each time. The meatballs were fantastic. I also recommend the tonnarelli cacio e Pepe. I had that on our first trip. We will be back.

Yelp
One of the best meals we had in Rome! So good that we cancelled a reservation for another restaurant near the tail end of our trip just to eat here again. Few highlights: - Roasted octopus was our favorite dish here and the best prepared octopus my husband and I have had to date. Buttery, melt in your mouth texture, crispy on the outside and so tender on the inside, and the subtle sauce on the side brought the dish together. Amazing. - Vegetarian lasagna was surprisingly good and portion-wise very generous. - Pappardelle with wild boar reminded me of an elevated hamburger helper...and I mean that in the best way. Very rich and savory as well as comforting and hearty. Highly recommend making a reservation before! It's gets busy and it will make your life much easier.

Yelp
We went on a Monday night, had a reservation. The service is inattentive at best but when they do finally come to your table they are very nice and knowledgeable. The menu was limited and all 3 of us had a hard time picking something. We were just looking for pasta. We started with fresh salads which were good and nicely presented. The salads are not dressed, they bring olive oil and balsamic vinegar to the table. The menu had no red sauce item, the closest being a beef ragout, and none of the dishes that looked good on reviews. 2 of us ordered the special which was a simple spaghetti with shrimp, olive oil, parsley and garlic. The spaghetti was more than al dente, it was undercooked. The other had the carbonara. We ordered the grilled octopus which was good. I won't rush back.

Yelp
Extraordinary pasta, unique quality and fresh! This restaurant was recommended to us and we loved it

Yelp
Food is good. Nothing to write home about but not disappointing. The service was horrendous!!!! The wait staff was impatient and rude and our waiter even made some crude remarks. They kept mentioning the price acting like we couldn't afford what we were asking for. And while the owner was nice to let us try multiple wines after we were very unhappy with an undrinkably sweet bottle that they hadn't let us try prior- he was very adamant that his taste profile was far superior and he was correct in giving me dry wines even when the last wine he gave us was closer to a moscato. Honestly just respect your customers for their taste preferences and requests, we showed up very happy and left frustrated... there are SO MANY better options: try Costanza around the corner instead

Yelp
Rome is just oversaturated with tourists and as such EVERYONE has an opinion. Not all good. The only way one should be excited to eat here is A) it's day one of vacation and you're just excited to be in Italy with your friends B) you haven't had current interpretations of Italian food in the last 12-15 years. The food reminds me of eating Italian in a New Jersey suburb in the mid 90s. The service is extremely brusque, like when you go to Sweetgreen at 3PM, and you're the only one there, but they still rush to make your salad and mess it up. I ordered a pasta dish with spinach and ricotta which was passable in a good plane food type of way. I also ordered the meatballs, which came with a sauce that was too sweet and tasted canned/bottled. The bread served with the meatballs was outstanding (hence 2 stars, rather than 1). The 25 euro half bottle of Gattinara got better as it opened up, but yet not enough to move the needle on this review. If you're Yelp Elite and gave this place 5 stars, either you are lying or you eat TERRIBLE food and I feel bad for you. I'm in Rome for one night and am sad that this was my dinner.

Yelp
Great little place in a touristy area. Service is very friendly and they all speak English. Most patrons are foreign here however the food is extremely good. The grilled calamari are outstanding indeed as per some other reviews. The carbonara is well done also. The Mista salad although very large is not up to Italian standards. Beef carpaccio was great. They had a seafood platter which was also a hit at our table. Overall a cute little place with good food. One thing I don't understand is that most Italian restaurants don't have any music at all, I think it would add to the ambiance but then everyone is on their phones anyways! lol

Yelp
Our last dinner in Rome,, the Ravioli was everyones favorite. My Suckling pig was delicious and the Duck Carpaccio Devine !! no dressing on my fennel salad ? i dont think they do dressings ,, your supposed to put your own olive oil and balsamic on ( i noticed this other places in italy as well). My son said his calamari was a little chewy, the Ragu was tasty.

Yelp
This was our first meal in Rome, and sadly we didn't pick one of the winning Roman cuisines. While we didn't love the food, the ambiance was nice, location is easily accessible, and you can reserve online. We had a radicchio salad (oil/balsamic) to start (standard salad; good portion), a slow roasted beef cheek in red wine (very tender, indicating a long roast; could have done with more creative flavour), and tagliatelle with artichoke and pecorino (nice dish overall; recommend). We had a Chianti Reserva to drink, which smelled of full body but the taste was acidic and off in my opinion.

Sid S.

Yelp
Sister restaurant of Grappolo d'Oro Great food and service the pasta was al dente with a nuanced wild boar ragu. Beef cheeks were perfectly prepared and the zabaglione hit the spot Washed down with some great Brunello and end with a grappa Perfect end to a great day of walking and sight-seeing in Rome

Yelp
kind of torn between three and four stars. came here for dinner, with a reservation. it's small but cozy and comfortable. we ordered caprese salad and the tomatoes tasted kind of mealy. they were past their prime for sure. we also had an appetizer of three items, smoked duck breast, steak tartare and stuffed zucchini flowers. all were just okay. but the osso bucco specialty of the night was excellent and they serve some kind of ancient traditional chocolate pudding which was amazing. the last two dishes redeemed the meal for us service wasn't great. kind of unfriendly except for the front-of-the house guy who was very nice. probably won't come back, but it wasn't a bad meal

Yelp
The food was excellent here and the service was great, but the (illegal?) pane charge at 2 euros a head for less than stellar/fresh bread I clearly saw them recycling became outlandish when you look at the itemization against the remainder of the bill. Stale-ish multigrain, two slices of white, and soggy-ish foccacia disappointed. However, the rest of the prices were more than reasonable and the food itself was really excellent. Portions were hearty and service quick. The cacio e pepe was outstanding, using thick bucatini-type egg noodles made fresh in house as a default versus boring dried spaghetti (which is the only dried pasta they offer). The pappardelle with braised rabbit was reported to be excellent, as was the guanciale-laced tagliatelle-type noodle. Suckling pig was as flavorful as reported. Great specials, and the appetizer sampler was beautifully plated and a medley of upscale Roman bites. I'm soothing my soul over the overpriced recycled bread--particularly appalling since it's around the corner from some truly outstanding bakeries that charge 3E for a whole loaf--with the fact that everything else was very reasonably priced and generously portioned and we don't have to pay tax and tip as we do in the states. Equally impactfully, I'm soothing it with a gelato from Frigidarium just a short walk away to cap off a delicious dinner.

Yelp
We ordered the baked bass filet with seafood and rabbit pasta. The pasta was really tasty. But wouldn't get the fish again. I liked the olive oil and slight pesto flavor but it was overall kind of bland. Severe were really nice and enjoyed the outside seating. Bread was really good.

Yelp
This was fine. I am not quite honestly sure why it has received such high marks. Hostess very friendly and efficient on getting us in to our table what we waited a very long time do ever be acknowledged by the server which includes water, wine list, etc even for The standard slower paced Italian meals. The food was 3-4 stars (I surveyed all 5 members of our family).
google avatar

Lupton P.

Yelp
Hands down the best meal we had in Rome! Small place where they make you feel like family. Want to try a wine before buying it? No problem, they'll let you taste before you buy. Prices are great and the food is out of this world! The roast suckling pig was to die for. Osso bucco was the tastiest I've ever had. Cacio e pepe was the best we've had on our trip. Best part.....it's not a tourist trap! Do yourself a favor and stop in this place.

Yelp
We made reservations because it was obvious this place is popular and very busy. Definitely worth the extra step. We made a 9:30 reservation but didn't get seated until almost 10 (typical Saturday night craziness), however, it's definitely worth the wait! Staff was friendly and professional, although very very busy so they only came to the table when they absolutely needed to (this is the norm in Italy). Wine and food was outstanding, no doubt about that. Wish we would have ordered more! Only small thing was it took a while to flag down a waiter to order dessert, and the cafe we ordered never came so we left without (they did recognize this as we paid though and politely offered for us to take it standing). Would highly reccommend, espicially if you are comfortable with Italian dining customs. :)

Dristi T.

Yelp
A must go to place when in Rome! The food is so great and flavorful and every dish is so enticing. The sea bass and artichoke was extremely fresh and delicious. The desserts were also to die for and we debated coming back here just for the desserts. A must try!

Yelp
Really great restaurant. Showed up 30 minutes before our reservation and they were able to accommodate us. Great house wine. Mixed salad is fresh and very good. Pasta is fantastic, as is their red sauce. Pasta della Roma with eggplant is terrific, and the ricotta and spinach ravioli are extraordinary. They also brought out complimentary limoncello after the meal.

Yelp
This cozy trattoria off the Campo D Fiori plaza serves great food for both locals and tourists. Had dinner here on a Saturday night and ordered the zucchini fritters for the antipasti (fried expertly), tagiatelle pasta with game hen and porcini mushrooms, and the suckling pig roasted in a salt crust. All the entrees were really great, especially the pasta. We ordered a recommended wine off the menu that complemented the food really well. Also, many of the menu items were homemade pastas and more exotic meats. After traveling through Italy for a couple of weeks, I appreciated not only the artisan menu but the quality of food at Ditirambo. Rome can be a tourist trap but you don't have to eat in one. You will not be disappointed! TIP: It is not directly on the Piazza Della Cancelleria but around the corner on one of the little side streets between the 60-80 block of Cancelleria.

Yelp
Nice restaurant well placed right in a centrum close to Campo de Fiori. It is a place which wont dissapoint but also wont impress. Four stars are about the right. Service is very good and so are meals. They haven´t pizza though. Yes, I love pizza so... :-) They have a pretty good wine list. I strongly recommend Versante Negroamaro. Amazing wine. Anyway, visiting this place is worth it, but as I said, it´s more like better average.

Yelp
All good for lunch only slightly away from the touristy piazza fiori. When we arrived the entire restaurant emptied, very strange. Turns out they rented it out for a private event. They were not ready so we came back 20 minutes later. The place packed up again and everyone wanted food at the same time. The wait was not bad for food about 15-20 minutes. Food quality and prices were good, service a bit hurried but expected. The bonus is they were able to secure us a cab to our hotel during a torrential thunderstorm. Best place in its area for Sunday lunch and it appears a few people are aware of that.
google avatar

Kiki P.

Yelp
Loved this place! The food was very good and they were knowledgeable about the wine paring to go with dinner. We had someone make reservations for us, someone that was Italian.... when we arrived they realized we were English speaking and had to re-seat us in the servers section that spoke the most English. That was fine with us since our Italian was basically non existent. We ordered the suckling pig with the salt crust and were not disappointed. the dessert we had was also amazing although I cant remember what it was called, I'm sure they are all good. The atmosphere was very nice and romantic (your in Italy everything is) and the had nice exposed brick arch in the center of the second room which was very cute. I would definitely come back here again.

Yelp
Phenomenal service, great location, unbelievable wine selection. This was our most memorable meal in Italy... perfect night, lots of wine and laughs, great food, etc. The food, while really VERY good (especially considering the near-touristy location) wasn't 5-star worthy, and the atmosphere inside was a bit lacking, but this is a solid 4 star stop. Sit outside, take a gamble on the wine, and enjoy a great meal in Rome.
google avatar

Aman S.

Yelp
Top notch Italian food. The freshest of ingredients. We had the several mozzarella apps, wild boar ragout, the rabbit ragout, and I also had the veal. All amazing. The service was impeccable. We also had wine - good selection. The check was very reasonable too @ €36 per person.
google avatar

Julie S.

Yelp
One of the best meals I had in Rome. I had the smoked duck with melon and almonds. I could have ate four more plates it was so good. My husband had the lasagna, vegetarian. It was a veggie based lasagna. He loved it. Service was fast and friendly.
google avatar

Greg P.

Yelp
Trip Advisory isn't always right, but man did they nail this one. Great decor, great amtmosphere, awesome wait staff, Ditirambo had it all. The veggie appteizer plate was delicous and my pasta with wild boar rago, to die for. I, as many others have in the past, would highly reccomend this place. When or if I got back to Rome, I know where I am stopping!
google avatar

Yelp
Overall, a good experience!! Both my partner and I had the lasagna for lunch. It's definitely not a traditional approach to lasagna and if you're not a fan of mushrooms then avoid it; otherwise definitively do it. Service was good, though there was only one waiter tending to the whole restaurant, he was also serving food with the assistance of one other gentlemen. Definitely a fight for his attention. Tiramisu was quite good. I have it everywhere and this was certainly on par with my standards.

Anthony O.

Yelp
Good restaurant. The lasagna was awesome! They have very good deserts. Wines were a bit overpriced.

Yelp
Delicious delicious! We read about this place in the Guardian, so lucky that we did. We didn't have a booking, but waited no more than 10-15 minutes for an outdoor table. Because I don't write anything down, I can't remember what we had except the appetizer Trittico Ditirambico ((zucchini flower with ricotta cheese, beef tartare with black truffle and Casteimagno cheese, smoked duck breast with melon and toasted almonds). My partner adored the beef tartare (which was fab, no doubt) but the smoked duck breast totally sent me over the edge. Something about the mix of flavors with the melon was so divine. Definitely a can't-miss appetizer. The fettucine with wild boar ragu was also fabulous, but uselessly I can't remember what else we had. All I recall is we were raving about it all night. Definitely among the very top we had in Rome. Not a bad bite. Would recommend it to anybody! It's affordable, not overwhelmingly touristy, and the food is really special.

Jeffrey G.

Yelp
Delicious food at a reasonable price. For an (American) tourist, especially in the heart of the tourist part of the city, this can be a tough combination to track down. The atmosphere of the restaurant is good, but the seating is tight inside. Food is excellent - from the bread to the main course to the dessert. Staff is very friendly even while literally running between tables. You will need to get there early if you do not have a reservation. Definitely worth it.

Des S.

Yelp
Been going here over 20 years and enjoyed the food and ambiance whether as a couple or with friends over for Six Nations rugby. Excellent food and service, decent wine list and great value.

Yelp
I just got back from a trip to Roma! For 11 days I ate at everyplace possible trying to avoid places with "hosts" in front. For the most part all of our places were wonderful but for our last night I wondered the area in which we were staying and I came across this place! Oh how I love this place! Little hole in the wall restaurant packed with locals... I knew we had to eat there! The host inside was friendly and tried to accommodate us as fast as he could given the fact that we were a party of 6. Our waiter was a petite man who at first I thought was going to be rude but he was actually very nice with good suggestions. The food was outstanding, the desserts were awesome and the environment was comforting! We will definitely stop by here again when in Roma!
google avatar

Eric B.

Yelp
Food was pretty good. Too bad the service was horrible. Service was probably the worst we've had during our three week trip to Italy. Will never return and cannot recommend to others.
google avatar

Tomer C.

Yelp
A great Italian eatery with a very good touch and a twist: we had a great time there - the service, the food, and overall. The waiter (Hugo) was very knowledgeable and friendly in describing and helping us pick the dishes. We ordered ricotta and spinach ravioli in tomato sauce which was fresh and "sweet" - amazingly fresh ricotta cheese and well prepared pasta. Also we had fried octopus which was very tender and came with olive tapenade, parsley paste with olive oil and a touch of licorice powder which gave the dish a very interesting twist. We finished of with a creamy tiramisu to cup a lovely meal. Highly recommended!!

Rakesh M.

Yelp
The meal here It wasnt the best one we had in Rome, but its definitely worth checking out if you are in Rome for 3 or more days. We had the pasta with shrimp to start, the shrimp was over cooked and not very tasty. But the main course I had was pretty good, it was a roast pork dish. My wifes entree was just ok (i cant remember what it was, might have been a fish), but the dessert we has was amazing. I think the dessert was a special, it came with 3 different things which were all good (ice cream, some sort of chocolate cake, and something else). Overall, its a nice place in a good location.

G C.

Yelp
Great appetizers! Specials change nightly, we went twice in the same week and those were among the best meals we had in Italy. Friendly staff, great location right next to Campo de' Fiori.

Wendy B.

Yelp
Amazing! We've had some great food here in Rome but this place was by far the best. Felt like the kind of place we would go to in our home city The prosciutto, barata and artichoke starter; grilled calamari - fresh, whole calamari not those frozen slices and the daily pasta and fish dish were divine.

Nikhil R.

Yelp
The seafood pasta special and the Trio of starters were exceptional...the bread not so much, slightly stale

Notorious G.

Yelp
Outstanding local restaurant, no tourist food here. Top quality food and excellent service. A most try while in Rome.

Zachary L.

Yelp
I went to Florence, Rome, and Cortona (a small town in Tuscany) during the spring. This was, by far, the best meal I had during the whole trip. The meat melts in your mouth, and everything is perfectly spiced. I tasted loads of new flavors there, and they were all amazingly delicious. Would DEFINITELY recommend.

Karen O.

Yelp
Very nice trattoria, tourist-friendly without being touristy. Our waiter was friendly, the service was excellent (not too fast, but we didn't wait too long, either) and the food was very good. Again, it was not standard tourist fare; we several good choices. I mostly eat vegetarian, and the ravioli with spinach were delicious.

Steven S.

Yelp
Perfect for us. Not very fancy but welcoming, engaging service and some of the best food we'd eaten in Rome. Very fresh and kind of nouveau Italian. The rabbit was really good. Not cheap but worth what we paid.

Mark C.

Yelp
We just finished a great dinner. My wife enjoyed the lasagna. I would recommend this restaurant
