"MBAR, in Connecticut’s waterfront town of Mystic, was converted from a gas station in 2016 and is now a café, restaurant, and wine bar. This is the second restoration project from owners Michael and Merrily Connery—they previously turned a former World War II airfield into their Saltwater Farm Vineyard, a 10-minute drive away. You can order a seasonal flight at MBAR to get a taste of their wines, but there’s also a full list of wines, beers, and spirits, as well as specialty coffee and tea drinks like an Oatmeal Cookie Latte or the Chocolate Chai. Chef David Pottie uses seasonal ingredients from local purveyors to create dishes ranging from artisan charcuterie boards to delicious short ribs served with creamy polenta, kale, baby carrots, and a house-made demi-glace." - Adrienne Jordan

Below Port o call this cute bar has a shuffle board. They have mixed drinks and beer and wine selection as well as food selections from upstairs.

A great place to come hang out in Mystic. Fortunate to have been here for a Songwriters nite. Lots of great performers.

Saw the jiggly video for this dish, and had to post our own. Great atmosphere, excellent service, and fun vibe!

Started upstairs then visited downstairs. Fun place great drinks

The patrons here will definitely make you want to Dive into a shallow pool of water.

Google
Great casual place. It's below a nice restaurant, so you can use this bar whilst you wait for your resy. Good selection of craft beers, board games, cards, shuffleboard, video game table. Couple of cats playing guitar tonight. Get the ham cheesy bread app! Whoa! I went back and got the Hawaiian Pork Musubi. Never had anything like it, but it's good! That's the wasabi foam jiggling in the video.

Google
terrible bartender threw a fit after I asked for a glass. go here if you want his beard shedded into the drink he serves you.

Place was an epic fail on multiple fronts. Menu online said they had tacos but was told they haven’t had tacos in a long time. The reverse happy hour says everyday but was told it is only weekdays. The manager came down with an attitude and couldn’t be bothered with me seeing as she had a private event going on upstairs. After waving me off she told the bartender to give me money from her tips. Ugh what a mess. Didn’t take it the money and still tipped for the beer

Yelp
Port of Call has become a Mystic staple, and for great reason! They have the MOST beautiful bar, and very friendly bartenders and staff. Their menu is super cool with options for everyone including unique drinks, snacks, and bites. Be sure to make a reservation, as it can get really busy (we have been turned away at the door before, so plan ahead!). We will be visiting again soon, and often!

Yelp
Port of call is an intimate cocktail bar, good for a quick drink/bar hop while moving your way through Mystic. Would I go back again? Probably not. My BIGGEST let down and what I think is the most NOTABLE part of port of call was that it is an "upscale cocktail bar" yet they were BATCHING their drinks ahead of time? We got two rounds of cocktails. One of the drinks was not spicy enough so I asked the server to just add a little more spice to it. He said they couldn't change it because the cocktails are pre-made/batched/or on draft. Honestly it shocked me. For that reason alone I wouldn't go back, but just for some more detail about the restaurant- For food we got the: -Ham and Warm Crusty bread 9/10 VERY good but only one piece -Lobster Mofongo 7/10, the curry was delicious but LACKS as a "Mofongo", skip-able dish -Smoked Hot dog 7/10, VERY recommend by the waiter. The bao bun is the best part. The hot dog itself is basic, and there was just too much kimchi which overpowers everything else for my personal taste. If you love kimchi get this dish! Overall it's a cocktail bar that stays true to the theme. A VERY interesting menu which is why we came. The cocktails were good, not great. I wouldn't recommend this as your destination but a good spot to pass through on a bar hop :)

Yelp
We were meeting my daughter and her fiancé for dinner while in town for another wedding, and she found this place. Tip: Restaurant parking is LIMITED, so if it is, go to the left of the restaurant around 300 feet and go into the Museum parking. You'll have to pay, but at least you can find parking. You can walk directly from the museum parking through a sidewalk and reach the restaurant, no problem. Tip: MAKE A RESERVATION. TIP: NO REALLY, MAKE A RESERVATION. Friday night was off the hook with a two piece Jazz ensemble (very good by the way) starting to play at 8:00 pm. We had reservations and were seated promptly. Others had to stand in the bar area waiting for a table to clear. By the way, don't forget to tip the band for heaven's sake. Ambiance wise, this place is Nautical. Very nice Nautical, with a lighted telegraph for the engine room as their Host/Hostess stand (set to all Ahead Full) and a wall full of lighted nautical lamps in the foyer. They have an assortment of mixed drinks that will make your head spin - literally. Our server did a good job translating the "normal" drink names - they weren't exactly the same, but close enough to know if you order this, you are getting something like a Manhattan. For starters, we ordered their warm olives with cheese, and their beef burrata. Both were very tasty. The olives with cheese were heaped with cheese. For the main course, I had their Carne Asada, which came with chunks of sweet potatoes and a nice, spicy puree. The steak was cooked right and was very good. My wife had their Gnocco Fritto, which was a salad with a pastry on top. It was good, but was a salad basically. We wrapped things up with flan for me, and for Smoked Juniper Berries which came under a dome filled with smoke for my wife, which was very good. Service was outstanding, with our server juggling many tables, and still paying attention to us quite well. She kept the water bottle filled as well and the drinks were flowing. Should you eat here? Sure! GET A RESERVATION. Trust me, you'll thank me later.

Yelp
Stephanie and Austin were very welcoming when we visited here! They were so knowledgeable and definitely enjoyed learning the history of the bar with some very eclectic tasty drinks! It sounds like that they will be doing a lot of fun daily specials and we certainly will like to come back with our kids to try some of their food!! It all sounds incredible!! We really enjoyed the atmosphere here and may be one of our newest favorite spots!

Yelp
10's across the board! What an absolute gem of an establishment. Food, service, and atmosphere was all spectacular, with the food definitely being the star of the show. A beautifully designed cocktail lounge boasting some big time culinary treats! A more adventurous menu for sure so don't show up expecting your usual "bar food". This ain't that. Everything we had both in food and drink was delicious but the mushroom cocktail and their signature hot dog were for sure standouts. I'm going to stop here as I don't think I can even begin to accurately put into words how wonderful an experience we had. Would HIGHLY recommend on your next visit to Mystic!

Natalia R.

Yelp
Food was interesting, no vegetables in either my entree or my partner's. Flavors were not a revelation. Drinks (drink) and service were fantastic. "Fancy French cologne" was well balanced and Smokey and fresh all at once. It was not a risky flavor profile but it was complex and palatable. A few other drinks were unique but did not deliver a well-rounded palette experience. Drink menu is thoughtful and detailed.

Yelp
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at this contemporary restaurant in mystic. Its menu is culturally diverse and has something for everyone. We started with the shrimp mofongo and beef empanadas. The beef and cheese in the fried pastry was delicious, by far our favorite don't pass on the empanadas, they come with a house made chimichurri and aioli. I had the Pupusa, the pork was moist, a stuffed corn cake, pickled vegetables. It was perfectly balanced and seasoned, the flavors were phenomenal. Our waiter made wine recommendations and was knowledgeable about cocktails and the menu. My husband had the catch of the day , a breaded monkfish done perfectly with black rice and beans. If you're a foodie don't miss this gem! Drop in the "dive" downstairs for a more casual laid back bar experience. Will definitely go back next time we're in mystic!

Yelp
This spot caught our eye as we were walking past- super cute on the outside and in (signs promising a tea was what got my attention) we decided to splurge a little and have what I dubbed a "bougie lunch" There were three of us and it was early for the Saturday service; the servers are very knowledgeable and will help you order the drink that's right for you. Love the concept of this spot. The small plates were fab- being from Los Angeles I couldn't believe I was about to spend 14 dollars for pupusas in CT- but let me tell you these are done right! The take on a spam musubi and even the warm bread and ham was great (though I would have preferred this be a little more "assemble on your own" that dish was difficult to share. One of those restaurants that makes one wish they were a local!

Yelp
Worst service ever over the holidays. Told us we had 15 minutes for happy hour but never came to let us order. Our server was making other tables' drinks all night. Maybe they were holiday slammed. They ignored us to the point we could have walked out without paying and no one would even noticed. Food was covered up in hot sauce. Holiday egg nog drink was watered down and store bought. We wanted to like this place so much. It was our night out. Now it's the funniest night of our vacation. Other tables were bored and waiting just as long.

Alysa L.

Yelp
Great happy hour. I loved the honey cake. The buttercream on top is rich and decadent. The pockets of salt will make it taste buttery. Really delicious way to end our happy hour. We went on a Wednesday and it was not too packed. The mini martini was strong so be prepared. It was very warm in there by the way. Not a complaint but more of a be prepared to remove your sweater.

Yelp
We planned our trip in advance so we could have small plates and drinks before going on the Mystic ghost walking tour, on a cold Saturday night in December. The website said they open at 4 so we arrived a few minutes after, only to be told inside the front door that they "weren't seating anyone until 6" and that we couldn't wait inside. We mentioned the website said they opened at 4. The bar and tables were all full of people drinking and eating, and a couple of tables were also free. One of our party asked whether it was due to a private event and the hostess said no, we just "aren't seating until 6." We were told the website wasn't up to date but to come back at 4:30 and the hostess took one of our party's cell number and said she'd call us when a table was free but we would "have to be done by 6." Literally never had a restaurant do something like this before but we went along with it. We went out into the cold to walk around Main Street to kill time since we were told we could not wait inside. Came back at 4:30 after no phone call; we were seated at a table and reminded we needed to "free the table up by 6." While waiting for our order, another party was seated next to us and we overheard the customer ask what type of fish they and she was also told "we aren't serving until 6." We started to order off the Happy Hour menu that was inside our regular menu (I should mention a chalkboard also said Happy Hour on it), and the waitress grabbed it from our party's hands and said, "You aren't supposed to have that! Happy Hour is not on the weekends!" The small plates were just average and really spoiled by feeling that we were not actually welcome at the Port of Call. I can't recommend this place and won't be coming back here. On the walking tour we saw many other appealing restaurants and the next time we're in Mystic we'll make a reservation at one of the other spots.

Yelp
Tonight, my friends and I had reservations at The Port of Call in Mystic, CT, to celebrate a friend's 40th birthday. We arrived right on time at 8 PM, only to be told our table wasn't ready. When we asked how long it would be, the hostess just said she'd call when it was available. After 30 minutes of waiting, we finally got a call--only to be told that the table *still* wasn't ready. At this point, we were beyond frustrated. When the second call came 15 minutes later--45 minutes after our original reservation--we were told they had a table for us. By then, the night was already ruined. To make matters worse, when we asked to speak with a manager during this ordeal, the hostess flat-out refused to connect us with anyone. We were angry, disappointed, and honestly stunned by the complete lack of care and professionalism. This was supposed to be a special night, and instead, it became a frustrating mess. We ended up leaving and taking our business elsewhere. I've never experienced service this bad, and I won't be coming back to this or any of your restaurants.

Yelp
Place is downtown mystic on a side road from Main Street. There's is street parking but of course limited specially after 5 pm. There is also public parking at the mystic museum on same block. Unfortunately the restaurant opens ecstatic 5 pm so if you have reservations at 5 pm and it's raining out, you are outside waiting for front door to open so be mindful of this. There's no waiting area. Loved the look inside the restaurant and bar. However if you don't like a loud place and you are seating shoulder to shoulder. I felt that the table was too small for four. Thankfully my party was ok with the seating arrangements. We came by 2 weeks ago. Our waitress Claire was the best. In fact her great knowledge of food and wine was impressive. She was so patient to let me try some wine and found me the perfect one. The food was so great we cleaned our plates. Ordered two Fish of the day. It was a large portion, crispy and surprisingly flavorful. The combination of the Cilantro rice, Thai basil and peanuts was a masterpiece. The Carne asada with sweet potatoes fries and mojo was to die for. In fact, I would say my mouth is watering as I think of it again. It was first time ever trying "lengua" beef tongue but I figured what better place than here. The Gyro was very flavorful, loved the sauce. They do have a large bar so feel free to come by check it out. If you are looking for adventure and new flavors this is the best port to dock on and enjoy your journey.

Yelp
Been here a few times. Nice polished atmosphere and great bar and staff. The food selections look great. We only had the mushrooms which were excellent. Interesting booze selections too. Apparently there is a "dive bar" downstairs which haven't seen yet.

Ariel S.

Yelp
I cannot recommend this bar enough. Probably one of the most beautifully ambient bars I've ever been to. Upstairs, my group of four sat at the bar and got cocktails. The bartender even made suggestions off-menu. After we felt sophisticated enough, we decided to literally lower ourselves back downstairs for some fun and games. I loved the atmosphere, the people, and the photo booth.

Yelp
Visited Mystic this weekend, and so glad I chose the Port of Call! Service was amazing. There was a small wait for our table, so we hung out in the Dive bar below, which was decorated like you were underwater compared to the ship decor upstairs. Drinks were great, has a photo booth and games. The staff were so friendly, funny and polite. Food was excellent. We had to get a second order of the beef empanadas after we put in our entrees because they were that insane. Due to the wait for our table, they even gave us a free dessert, which was so unexpected and sweet. Will be recommending to anyone visiting Mystic, and will be back for more empanadas!!

Patrick T.

Yelp
I was on the fence about giving a review because I don't want to tell too many people about this place. It has become my favorite spot in Mystic among many great restaurants and bars. The cocktails here are crafted to be delicious. Some of them sound weird or different, but go in with an open mind and you will be amazed how good they are. The food and service were also great. Our bartender Austin was one of the best we've met, he really enjoys making great drinks and it shows. Love the old fashioned feel of the bar. We will be back every trip to the area. Hopefully we will be able to get in!

Jeremy L.

Yelp
Been looking forward to hitting port of call for a while now. I wasn't disappointed. The ambiance was really nice. It seemed like half restaurant half museum. The food was very delicious and creatively crafted. It was a cool how they associate the dishes with a port of call. As previous placed here the squid ink empanadas are really top tier. The crust and the filling . Eat with the sauce they provide. For it. The drinks are definitely the highlights. They have a cool taste chart that helps guide your choices

Tammee S.

Yelp
Check your receipts and credit card statements!! Went with a large crew of people. I was charged $40.00 over the amount my signed receipt showed. I called and spoke to someone and they told me they would look into it. They mentioned something about adding tips to large groups. However, my receipt was for 4 people and no tip was added by the business. We tipped in cash and on credit cards. Needless to say, no one ever called me back from Port of Call and I had to file a claim with my credit card company to be refunded $40 that was overcharged.

Yelp
A collaboration between the 85th Day Food Community and The Real McCoy Rum, The Port of Call is a nautical-themed cocktail lounge and restaurant. The Port of Call hearkens back to the days of maritime excursions, exploring international cocktail culture and cuisine together, port by port. In the upper saloon, enjoy a cocktail driven dinner experience drawing from port cities near and far. Dive downstairs, you'll find a laid back pub serving beer and bar bites, complete with a shuffleboard table and arcade games. We tried their Cocktail on draft- Curry Barbados with REAL MCCOY RUM GINGER, LIME, CURRY, FENNEL BITTERS. This was amazing! James Beard Award Nominee, Best Chef Renee Touponce has made quite the menu. We tried... SMOKED HOT DOG Bonito aioli, spicy kimchi, shallot & kelp crunch, double-fermented house steamed bao bun PORT OF CALL: MANHATTAN VIA BUSAN BACALAITOS Salted Fluke Fritter, charred onion, old bay, lime and cilantro foam PORT OF CALL: SAN JUAN TAMALES DE ELOTE Mexican-style street corn, cotija cheese, smokey chiles, lime aioli PORT OF CALL: VERACRUZ BUTTERMILK FRIED HALF CHICKEN Koji hot honey and Nola style chow-chow PORT OF CALL: NEW ORLEANS SMOKING ANTICUCHOS Adobo marinated beef tongue skewers, confit duck fat potatoes, spicy peanut sauce PORT OF CALL: PAITA FISH OF THE DAY Locally Sourced Fresh Fish, Green rice, cilantro, peanuts, Thai basil, chili oil, nouc cham caviar, housemade fish sauce PORT OF CALL: SRIRACHA SQUID INK EMPANADAS Stonington squid, green rice, peanuts, bonito aioli, Chimichurri PORT OF CALL: SAN JUAN VIA BANGKOK HAWAIIAN PORK MUSUBI Leone & Sons Pork Roll, sticky rice, gochugaru, tare, nori, scallions, wasabi foam PORT OF CALL: HONOLULU OVERNIGHT CELEBRITY TROPICAL & BOLDOWO OVE Rye Evan Williams Bourbon, Whiskey, Pineapple Campari, Passion Fruit Concoction, Laura's Mix (it's made of secrets) Lemon, Peychauds. BOOZY & HONEST SMOOTH & SPIRIT-FORWARD Mezcal, Yprióca Cachaca Reserva, Bavarian Mondino Aperitivo, House Made Banana Justino. Stephanie was our bartender and service was beyond impeccable! We also met Jade, beverage director. Both were so awesome and friendly. You just can't beat this spot in Mystic. Knowledgeable. Attentive. Just perfect.

Jenna B.

Yelp
I went to the bar the other night by myself for a glass of wine, I got the Gruner and was served by Jade. I also ordered the Ham & Warm Crusty Bread, but I'm not the biggest fan of ham(it's prosciutto) so I asked for no ham. Jade had asked if I like cheese so she surprise added one of the best, obviously fresh cut cheeses I've ever had, on top of the bread to substitute the prosciutto. It was absolutely amazing. I know it's just garlic bread but I would have wiped my plate clean if I weren't in a public setting. Soooo awesome all around.

kenneth k.

Yelp
TLDR: food was excellent, service was very kind, drinks were great! All around fantastic spot for a meal. Inside decor very beautiful.

Zachary D.

Yelp
Great food, great service, lovely atmosphere. Right in downtown Mystic, this was just a short walk from our rental.

Brenda C.

Yelp
Awesome new restaurant find!! We really enjoyed everything about the Port of Call! Bartender, food, ambiance....all first rate! Can't wait to return!

Yelp
Wow. We were truly blown away by this experience. We were excited to try and we went in hesitant that our expectations weren't going to be met...that couldn't have been farther from the truth. To start, every staff member we encountered was beyond kind. We have a little extra love for our wonderful waitress, Claire, who made the experience ever more special. My husband took me for my birthday since I was excited when they opened. One look at the menu and we were sold. Our drinks were suggested by Claire and I'm thankful since it wouldn't have been my default order. My herby fluffy pineapple delight was so unique and delicious. It was a very herb forward drink and I loved it. My sour loving husband was a big fan of his drink, The Middle Child-for more reasons than one lol. Our small plates came and we were in awe. Not a bite disappointed is. I'm saying that, I would recommend any of our plates, but don't miss out on the papas Rellena. Somehow they managed to make a deep fried potato ball filled with meat not greasy and light and fresh. The combination was perfect. I would be remised if I didn't compliment the wasabi foam on the Musubi-another fantastic dish! My husband got the hot dog and I ordered the fish of the day (another epic Claire suggestion). The fish was fall apart light with a perfect combination of flavors. My husband will never eat fish...he hates it...we shared this dish per his request. That is a compliment that could love mountains. The smoked hot dog in a Bao bun is now how I believe hot dogs should be served. We had not room for dessert since we took down most of the menu lol. We spent the rest of the time admiring the musical stylings of the bartender, Sebastian, as he shook drinks with such force you could help but be impressed. Convenient parking in the big downtown lot and you can walk right in behind it without even having to leave the lot. This is a must stop. We will absolutely be returning. Thank you for a wonderful meal and experience.

Gill S.

Yelp
Pretentious, overpriced, with food and service that doesnt match. I came here solely on the James Beard award nomination. Looking at the menu, I liked the concept that was offered. Coming in, it feels like a swanky cabin on a boat, with new agey EDM and hip hop playing in the back drop. They have quite the cozy atmosphere with all the wood and candle lights they use. Our server was absent for most of our visit. There were times where I got up to look for him because my water ran out or I was ready for the check. I was seated among two tables that received a vase of water. My friend and I didnt realize a vase of water until I had to ask my server for one. I felt as if I was getting subpar treatment for whatever reason. The reuben eggrolls were probably my favorite item. They tasted like fried pockets of scrumptious pastrami and cheese. The korean hot dog was good, but I felt it was a little underwhelming once finished. The korean fixings on top were quite bold in their salty, umami flavor, but the meat itself fell flat. The lamb gyro was another dish that had a great foundation, but was ultimately underwhelming. The bread was soft, the veggies were fresh, but the meat was mostly salty. While listed as a entree, it felt more like a snack. Their drinks are OK, but it feels like typical stuff I d find anywhere with an extra ingredient here and there. My drink was good, but wasnt that exotic or creative.

David T.

Yelp
We are locals and wanted to check out both the food and the drag shows they have on alternating Sundays. First we ordered drinks. They seem to have a variety of tasty cocktails and wines but OMG the cocktail sure was super tiny for the price alongside a tiny glass. We thought we were back in Seaport Boston. Our waiter was attentive but too much so. We were catching up with old friends so we were chatting a bunch. Maybe he wanted us to get done with our food before the drag show started which by the way did not start promptly at 6:30. The food was okay considering the gourmet hot dog and empanadas. Frankly the food seemed overpriced for the quality and portions.

Bryan S.

Yelp
Great, upbeat atmosphere with the tone set by the exceptional staff. If you want interesting come to the Port of Call. The owners hired a great jazz quartet last night (Friday) which further enhanced our overall great experience. The food and service was great too!... Look, if you're going to gripe about price then go somewhere else. You get what you pay for.

Matthew P.

Yelp
My wife and I came here for dinner twice. The first time was absolutely amazing. Inventive drinks, great service and the ambiance is exactly what we were looking for. We got Stephanie as our bartender. She was perfect. She recommended we come back for the Monday lost at sea menu that featured different drinks and some speciality items on the menu. We were so glad we came back and we got Stephanie again! If you come here make sure you get her. She'll guide you to what you'll enjoy the most!

NiKi G.

Yelp
Great little place. Atmosphere is cool and swanky for small parties or a date. Dining for a variety of sized people is interesting and at times comical. Almost fell off my ottoman when Ieaned back while laughing. My sister had hit her head several times on the corner of her leather library chair. The atmosphere is very dark more like a thousand leagues under the sea dark but food was great, artistic and tastefully executed. Perhaps a lighted menu or a table library lamp to help read the menu would be a solution The owner or perhaps one of them may have been taking care of us she was warm, kind, very knowledgeable, accommodating, and went out of her way to ensure we all would be confident and enjoy our selections. She seemed to be taking great pride in her craft and was fast on her feet and excellent at coordinating our experience and all the other guests as well it seemed. Her pride in her work showed and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal and time together there. My Mother enjoyed dinner with her family for her 70th. Thank you. The food and drinks were great. I especially enjoyed the fresh extremely delicious virgin lemonade she whipped up for me special. Don't leave without dessert! Best unique desserts ever that HONEY CAKE & FLAN was really special. My one suggestion would be adding a basic filet mignon or herb grilled chicken breast option for those grown adults who may be picky plain or non adventurous eaters. My one regret is not going into the lower level after we ate....we originally planned to but we ended up closing the restaurant down and being to full to bend over and shoot pool but it definitely looked like it would be alot of fun down there.

Doug C.

Yelp
I love this place; it has an authentic "speakeasy" vibe. We enjoyed the tasty bites and jazz on Tuesdays and Fridays. I described a rum drink I had in Barbados, which the bartender whipped up. Great attitude and service!

Jim J.

Yelp
Excellent menu and drink selection. We enjoyed the Mushroom Salad with trumpet and maitake mushrooms and other veggies and herbs in a savory vinaigrette. The Papa Rellena was a fried stuffed mashed potato on a green pepper sauce. All the flavors were on point. We tried the Fox Fire Double IPA and the Cinnamon Apple Sour. The wife tried the Raicilla Agave Moonshine cocktail. We had a second round of the sour; it was very smooth and not overpowering in the cinnamon and apple. Our server was very attentive and she gave a quick rundown on all the upcoming events which will bring us back Tuesday evening for the Jazz band. There are a lot of antiques around and the bar was constructed partly from wood we were told from a 19th Century shipwreck. We can already see that Port of Call captures the very spirit of Mystic with its history, excellent creative menu, and local craft beer offerings.

Asia S.

Yelp
This was such a cool experience! We started off at The Dive below The Port of Call. It was a cool vibe with games, good music, and drinks. The bartender was funny and witty, which made the experience even better. The Port of Call had a very cool speakeasy vibe. Abby was our bartender she was very nice and helpful when explaining and suggesting things off the menu. We loved the music they were playing too. The pinchos were delicious! We'll definitely be making another visit here.

Katie D.

Yelp
We love Mystic. We were told to check out Port of Call on a recommendation from my brother. The inside of this bar feels just like you're hanging out inside an old ship. Their drinks are perfectly curated, and they offer small bites to munch on with your drinks. If you are a cocktail enthusiast, you should absolutely check this place out. It's worth a try for the excellent drinks, and cool atmosphere.

Jamie M.

Yelp
First time visiting this speakeasy vibe hidden bar. The atmosphere makes you want to grab a cigar and kick back with your favorite bourbon. The waiter was very friendly and even ordered us his favorite drink from the menu. The small bites were delicious I recommend the squid ink empanadas and the olives and cheese board. Do note they DO NOT skip on the booze so don't expect to drink too much when you're there. After 2 drinks I said yep time for me to head out Will definitely come back again

Ken D.

Yelp
Live in Mystic and this was our first visit here. WONDERFUL food, a terrific relaxed vibe, and fantastic, friendly service (Claire ROCKED!). Its a small place with a big bar and lots of specialty cocktails (wasted on us as non-drinkers). Claire recommended a mocktail though that was fabulous! Menu choices (small and large plates) are limited and unusual, so probably check the menu before you go if you aren't especially adventurous. We will definitely be back!

Tony M.

Yelp
The most beautiful bar top I have ever seen. Made from the hill of a ship from the 1800's. Everything about this place is great, bartender, service, drinks and their recommendations and descriptions, oh and the food. Ya gotta get the hotdog!

Yolanda A.

Yelp
Visited for the first time today. Chef Rene surpasses my expectations of Rellenos de Papa, Empanadas and Flan. Even the simple warm olives and cheese, was not simple. The Relleno de Papa with an egg inside, is not only creative but enhances that delicious traditional potato. The squid ink and rice in the empanada brings to mind England's Michelin Star Brindisa's flavorful morcilla. The rich flan with a hint of salt, transported me to an old restaurant in Toledo Spain, where tradition and new world meet gracefully. An exceptional and unexpected happy hour with excellent service from Alex and a great Tempranillo from a bartender that knows wine and mixed drinks with flair. The beautiful decor only adds to the experience. Will return with friends, very soon.

Yelp
Phenomenal food and drinks. Mostly shareables on the menu. Bartenders are very attentive and the bar seating is nice. The interior of the restaurant is very classy. Be sure to book a reservation in advance, or risk it with the wait list.

Yelp
Truly such a unique spot full of history and international influences- I've never been anywhere like The Port of Call! We were seated at the "Million Mile Bar" made of refurbished wood from the historic Charles W. Morgan whaleship, and sipped on some really creative cocktails. One of my favorite parts about my experience was the menu, which described the port of call each small plate and cocktail were influenced by. I also really appreciated how each cocktail listed its ideal food pairing. Downstairs is the "Dive Bar", which I only peeked into quickly, but it had a laid back vibe compared to the sophisticated bar upstairs. The food we had was excellent, but you should definitely be aware that these are served as small plates and not full meals. I would love to come back again on my next Mystic trip!

Yelp
Very nice Christmas decor. Live band should be on the side of the bar away from the large tables. Way too loud to talk. Appetizers were good but wildly overpriced. "Bread and ham" had copious amounts of butter and was ONE slice of bread. Olives are served warm but the "and cheese" Is a few shavings of a hard cheese like Parmesan. Veg soup was good. Server had some sass. Asked for a straw (glass had old lipstick mark stain) and was asked "do you really need one?" Yes. Please allow me the use of a paper straw Smart Alec. I don't need that from a server.

Yelp
The reclaimed and recycled flooring as well as the bar made from a shipwrecked vessel add to the charm. The faux gas lamps flickering and the mirrored portholes finish the aesthetic. The crafty cocktails developed by the two gentlemen we met named Sebastian and Justin were equally as unique as the ambience. We enjoyed a few small plates. Definitely a great spot if you can get a seat.

Yelp
First time we came here was a year ago, the day I proposed to my now wife. Came back a year later and it did not disappoint. Plan to make it a yearly occasion.

Yelp
Great drinks and food - go to the Sea Queens drag show. Trust me!!! Service is top notch as well. Ambiance is cozy, just watch those big leather chairs, they're tough to eat in!

Yelp
Wouldn't go here unless u want credit card overcharged. They overcharged my credit card. I called and left a voicemail to get it corrected but they never called back. Now I have to settle it with the credit card company

Yelp
One of my favorite places to go in Mystic! The interior is so beautiful with a great bar and amazing drinks you won't find anywhere else. The menu is somewhat limited but the food is amazing! Great place to go with friends or a date night. They often have live music as well. I highly highly recommend!!

Yelp
Food, service, drinks, and atmosphere were excellent. We especially liked the fluke (the fish of the day prep is so flavorful) and La Jardinerx drink. Will be back soon!

Yelp
I had lunch here for my 1-year wedding anniversary and we had such a great time! The staff was awesome, really enjoyed chatting with Sebastian. The bartender. Definitely recommend you get the hot dog, and the warm olives and cheese snack. I think any drink you order here you can't go wrong!
