Divine Cave Experience (Santorini, Greek Islands) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"If there’s one place on earth where Divine Cave Experience is an entirely straightforward name for a hotel, it’s Santorini. In fact this hotel, set in Imerovigli on the island’s inner curve, goes even a bit further than most in pursuit of the archetypal underground lifestyle. Each of the hotel’s ten suites is carved directly into the rock, and frames a unique view of the caldera at Santorini’s center; some add Jacuzzis, either on an open-air terrace or at the opening of the cave. Another subterranean space is given over to the wellness area, while the restaurant and bar venture out onto the rooftop terrace, for the most wide-ranging views." - Tablet Hotels

We checked out of our 2 rooms this morning and were very disappointed with the property and the restaurant as well. ||In one of the rooms, the hot tub was out of service and never worked all 3 days. Also, the tub lights could not be turned off so the room was always bright at night. ||We had to take the large suite for the last night as they didn’t have our room available. We didn’t mind paying more, but the room was horrible. There were about five steps, so if you’re not careful, you will fall down and possibly get seriously hurt in the middle of the night. The room was a little larger, but the only thing they added to it was a stairmaster which we could care less about. The property didn’t have a gym and we paid an extra €300 a night for an ugly stair master||We went for a coffee this morning at 7:56 AM and the server wouldn’t serve us because he said they didn’t start service until 8 AM. We had an 8:15 AM departure so we were hoping to get a cup of coffee, but we didn’t get that either. The server was also fairly rude and not welcoming at all. They knew we were leaving and wouldn’t make an accommodation to give us a simple cup of coffee. ||Now that we know what we know, we would never stay here again. I highly recommend you find a different hotel for your stay in Santorini Greece||.

Avoid this hotel - there are plenty to choose from in beautiful Santorini. ||We booked four days in Divine Caves at the end of a ten day trip to Santorini. On arrival we were told there was a 'minor' issue with the Jacuzzi, this turned out to be an issue that came with a high-pitched ringing sound from the jacuzzi that worsened in the early hours of the morning making it impossible to sleep!|||We had been promised an engineer would come but didn't, and to be honest the hotel were very unhelpful and couldn't offer us another room. They did however offer us dinner which was nowhere near equal to the cost of the room per night (600 euros) and was a joke to be honest as in their words was a ‘suitable alternative’ As they were unable to help us we decided to leave and are still in an ongoing dispute trying to obtain a refund the faulty room. ||The hotel itself? ||Overpromises and under-delivers ! We were sold by the beautiful images of the sunset as seen from the jacuzzi, which of course was lovely (not that we could enjoy it due to the noise). However, faulty hot tub aside, the balconies are overlooked with people hiking past all day and evening so privacy is an issue if you were hoping to enjoy the sunset jacuzzi. ||It is also set in the middle of nowhere, costing 35 euros to get to the nearest town so you have to rely on the ‘hospitality’ of the hotel, which is a strange set up at best description. ||The restaurant is a room with a beautiful view but not set up with any ambience, their system is for you to find a member of staff and order at the pool-side bar, then they take you to the empty room (the restaurant) and set a table for you - no music, no other guests and a strange atmosphere. ||We stayed in other gorgeous spots in Santorini, one in Perissa, one in Kamari and had an amazing experience in smaller, less ‘fancy’ hotels and would recommend that other travellers do the same. ||The staff? ||Rude and unhelpful - a real one star experience of customer service, it went from an over-friendly false welcoming to outright arguing with our complaint, refusing to replenish our coffee pods in the morning (as apparently 2 are enough per room) and now to refusing to refund us for a stay we didn’t end up having.

Had a wonderful stay at this hotel! Amazimg view from the hotel. The service was good, and the cave room was absolutely stunning. It cozy, unique, and beautifully modern designed. Loved the luxurious heated cave pool, a perfect place to relax for couples. The restaurant was not impressive and the waiter seemed highly inexperienced regarding service and the dining information. Good thing is there is a path infront of hotel that you can safely walk into town within 10-15 minutes.

We had a great stay in our cave style room. The private heated pool was so nice to enjoy at night with a view of the sunset. Staff was very helpful in giving recommendations. Food at the restaurant was exceptional and we also took the walking path to try multiple restaurants in Fira.

We stayed at Divine Caves for our honeymoon and had such a memorable experience: ▪️Reception staff were incredibly helpful, informative, and accommodating — they organised all our bookings, Buggy / ATV, hotel transfer , dinners reservations, and recommendations with ease. ▪️Even though the hotel was understaffed, the team’s dedication and hard work really stood out. One staff member worked a 14-hour day yet still provided amazing service — a true inspiration. ▪️Accommodation was stunning and comfortable, with excellent facilities. ▪️remarkable sunset views ▪️Food and service were impeccable — we couldn’t fault it. 😅 Only minor downside: cave rooms face the main walkway, so some passersby may see you chilling in the spa, however they have built in curtains that will give you privacy ▪️ we Loved their partnership with a local ATV buggy company — buggy was delivered straight to the hotel and cheaper than an Uber, which made exploring easy. ▪️Despite older negative reviews, the hotel has really lifted its game and now delivers five-star service. Overall, we left incredibly impressed and very happy — a perfect honeymoon stay!

The room facilities and the swimming pool are very nice, but the door is poorly soundproofed. You can hear the music from the corridor outside and the sound of laundry from the laundry room opposite.Breakfast was amazing!

Stayed here for our honeymoon and overall it was a nice stay. The service is not good, for example we asked multiple times for them to heat up the jacuzzi and they didn’t. Additionally, when we asked for more water, they said we have to pay for it. I’ve never seen a 5 star hotel ask you to pay for water. Additionally, they made us take our own luggage to our room. You need to provide a 5 star experience if you’ll claim 5 star status, and right now it is far from it.

Such a fantastic stay here! Breakfast was amazing - fresh fruit plates and lots to choose from as a vegetarian. We loved watching the sunsets in the cave pools. The caves are in front of a path so during the day there is foot traffic in front of the cave pools but this didn’t impact us since we were using them in the evening when people weren’t hiking and it was super private. In terms of location, this is not walking distance to many places of interest but in general Santorini is so hilly no matter what you’ll probably need an atv, scooter, or car to get around so keep that in mind before ruling this place out.
