Awesome food. The staff are very friendly and very knowledgeable about the great food on the menu. Fast service. Great place to eat with friends and family. Very reasonable prices.

A Wilmington staple for over 100 years! The Dixie Grill was once a fancy restaurant serving lobster and during WW2, it was transformed into a lunch spot for workers in the area. The staff is always incredibly friendly and the food was absolutely delicious!

Good old Dixie. An institution, for sure and it never disappoints. They have up their food standards and we were pleasantly surprised. The omelette is fluffy, with just enough stuffing; the market Benedict was delicious with fried green tomatoes and Vidalia onion gravy; and nicely plated. They even cut the scallions on a bias now. Home fries were cubed nicely and well seasoned. We appreciate the change.

WHAT IS IN THE FARMERS OMELETTE THAT MAKES IT SO DELICIOUS?!?! Our delightful server Madison recommended that to go with my cheesy grits and a sweet potato pancake and they must be using some dark magic for everything to taste this good. Setting the bar high for our first meal in Wilmington, NC!

Great atmosphere and location in the heart of Wilmington! Fast service, simple menu, reasonable prices, and a good amount of seating. The Breakfast burrito and home fries were delicious and filling! A simple breakfast delight done well. Potato pancakes were also good! Big size, just one is filling. A good place to go for a casual brunch date!

We love it there! Everyone treats you like family! The new renovations are beautiful and I love the new bathrooms! We also enjoyed the menu very much and they are very accommodating with special requests like no spice can I have it in a cup on the side for the shrimp and grits that type of thing Which by the way was delicious. Enjoy.

The perfect spot for breakfast. The biscuits and gravy are very good and my husband really enjoyed the shrimp and grits. Idk what coffee they use but it was SO GOOD.

My friends food looked and smelled delicious! I had a egg and turkey bacon sandwich on GF bread. They did have a special area where they prepped gluten free meals, but choices were limited since I am sensitive. The waitress was knowledgeable about what I could have and helped navigate the menu and left notes for the chef.

Solid place to eat! Went on Saturday morning at around 10am, we had a bit of a wait (15mins) but nothing too awful. It was pretty busy inside and there wasn't much waiting area space. Note: there is only street parking - I walked from our unit so I'm not sure how much parking costs!! The food was surprisingly good, enjoyed the bacon which was crispy and not at all soggy. Great home fries! The server was nice too (tattooed lady cannot remember her name but she gave us recommendations for good tattoo shops so thank you!) I'd come back for sure.

Wonderful Iconic Grill in Downtown Wilmington. I had a basic breakfast which was perfect. Bacon was super crispy, and the biscuit was light and fluffy. Hands down a perfect breakfast

Local spot, long wait, worth the wait. Dixie grill is downtown wilmington serving breakfast and lunch. The service is friendly. The building is old and so is all the restaurant decor. The menu has a good variety for vegetarians and meat eaters, kids too. Put your name down with the hostess and wait to be called. My recommendation: order a tequila sunrise and veggie breakfast burrito. Top with hot sauce and enjoy.

Talk about yummy and affordable! The bacon pancakes were cooked perfectly. We were in and out in no time!

Typical diner food. Friendly service, good food, family diner atmosphere. We had breakfast here while vacationing in Downtown Wilmington. Dixie was an inexpensive option to get breakfast for the family. Bacon was thin, crispy, and smoky. The hash is delicious. The corn beef was amazing, only wished there was more throughout the hash. Next visit we decided to order the hash without the cheese. The cheese seems to take away from the greatness of the hash. The eggs were fresh. The grits were a little too wet for my liking. I will return, perhaps next time I will try a sandwich.

Stopped in for breakfast on the way out of town. The shrimp and grits and Market St Benedict were very good. We try to test different or local dishes when exploring new towns and these didn't disappoint!

This place is a wilmington classic! Somehow we didn't have to wait long on a Sunday morning. The place is bigger than it looks on the outside. Everyone at the table other than myself got the Benedict. I got the sweet hot chicken biscuit special. All the food was great and our server was very nice!

Service was very hospitable. The decor was very urban country feel. I really enjoyed it. The cheesy grits were delicious. Breakfast was appealing.

Ordered at this hole in the wall diner a farmers omelette and my partner ordered a fried green tomato BLT. The omelette was bland and not much salsa was put on the top. At least the omelette looked like it was cooked neatly. Home fries were seasoned well, but could've been more crispy. Biscuit had decent flavor but was overcooked and a little dense. My partner, on the other hand, enjoyed his breakfast. Nice that you get unlimited coffee refills for $2. Our waitress was great, she checked in on us a couple of times and was friendly. They have some booth space in the back for larger groups.

Came to Wilmington to show my sister around because she's a huge OTH fan. She did a ton of research of where to start our day and this place had great reviews. We were seated immediately and it was around 10:30am on a Saturday. Everything on the menu looked good! But I went with the shrimp and grits! Very very good. My only gripe is having to take the tail off the shrimp. My sister and my bf enjoyed their meals as well! The drinks were good as well. Classic diner vibes with yummy food.

I love The Dixie Grill. There burgers are insanely delicious. The prices are good as so is the wait staff. I go to the Dixie Grill every chance I get their food and service is amazing. Their breakfast is awesome too.

The food is good ole diner food. Flavorful but not greasy. Coffee was great. The service was phenomenal. I enjoyed my time very much. I'm a breakfast guy so having a new spot to choose from means more fun for me

Delicious breakfast! If we are in the Wilmington NC area again, I'd go back. I had a wonderfully full cheese and Sausage omelette with really tasty home fries. My wife enjoyed her Veggie omelette. Our friends from the area who picked the place enjoyed their breakfast. Kinsey our Waitress was great!

The service was great! The servers weee super kind and the wait for the food was not long at all. Great vibes and super cute diner style. It's great for a nice brunch with family and friends. The food was delicious!! We ate every last bite! The French toast was amazing and I would highly recommend it. Definitely check this spot out if you're looking for a delicious brunch option in the area.

Came in on a sleepy Sunday morning. There was a wait for tables but I sat right away at the bar. They told me the kitchen was running behind so my order would be delayed but I was served coffee immediately. Super sweet little spot. No extra fuss. Just quality food and kind service.

EXCELLENT. From the cup of coffee to the food to the humble quaint old school dinette/diner atmosphere to the friendly staff. The food was perfect and tasted delicious. They also serve iced coffee in mason jars but ironically I love the hot coffee here. You can pay your bill by Apple Pay, using a scan on the receipt vs waiting for the card etc. I'd never used that method before but it was super easy. Great atmosphere for friends or family with children.

All I can say is WOW! The dixie grill is not only affordable.. it's utterly DELICIOUS!! The fast service and nice waitresses make it even better. The hours on Yelp and the front door say they are closed on Monday's/Tuesdays but they were open today which is Monday. If you are a local or just visiting... the Dixie is a MUST.

Outstanding service and the food was absolutely amazing! My over medium eggs were perfect, and country ham can't be beat! Definitely will be back when we are in town! Worth the wait!

Delicious food and great service! We enjoyed a Sunday breakfast. My Louisiana hash was as yummy as it was pretty, look at this picture if you don't believe me. Others with me vouched for the pancakes, bacon, and breakfast sandwiches!

Early breakfast with western omelet and French toast for the two of us. Both dishes delicious. Waitress was friendly and well trained.

A good place to eat in Wilmington. I first came when I learned it was part of the locations for OTH and their food was very delicious! We enjoyed their food. A nice place in downtown.

This is your typical greasy spoon, classic breakfast choices, nothing fancy. The weekend wait is always long. The building is very old which is shown in the bathrooms (actually quite gross), the ill- equipped air handling (so so hot) and the worn out booths and sticky tables. While service was fine, the egg sandwich was bland and the home fries were too small and charred. There are SO many other great breakfast places downtown -- steer clear of this tourist trap.

We loved having breakfast at Dixie Grill while in Wilmington. This place fills up quickly after it opens! Be prepared to get there early or wait. Like everyone else, they are short staffed, but they had a great attitude and were friendly and helpful. Food was Great!

The host on a Saturday morning 11/11/23 was horrendous. There were open tables and seats at the bar for at least 30 min. People were lined up outdoors in the rain and she was not seating people. She would seat 1-2 people at a booth when there were bar seats open and the patron had no preference. There was not a shortage of waitresses as the tables were eventually filled. But they could have had a larger volume and better flow if she did her job correctly. Expect to wait and don't come starving.

We were in search of something to end our perfect weekend away and this place was right on time! Food was exceptional and staff was very professional. We will be back! Great little dinner feel.

The food was AMAZING and so was our server! We had a 20 minute wait on a Saturday morning and had just enough time to go next door and visit the candy store. The neighborhood was also a fun time. I highly recommend The Dixie Grill!

Came here for lunch, with the mood to try new things! Ordered the sweet potato short stack, it was indeed something new and different. The middle was very sweet potato tasting and cinnamon flavored. The texture and sweet potato taste was too overpowering for me, but still would try it! The reuben sandwich was really good, I enjoyed it! Our server was super nice and friendly! I enjoyed eating here on my trip!

Good food and a good amount of food. You can sit at the counter or wait for a booth. Old building,only one restroom was working so had to wait a few minutes, get in line! Sink outside of bathroom, never seen that before. Waitstaff could have been more attentive. Coffee drinkers like to have more than one cup, please.

Bottom line: The Dixie Grill is a good Southern diner type stop along Market St in downtown Wilmington. I've enjoyed the early breakfasts I have had there, and best to go early to avoid waits. I am a fan! The Deets: In visits to downtown/riverfront Wilmington over the years, I have enjoyed visits to The Dixie Grill. In an area where brunch rules on the weekend but most times is not available until 10-11am, it's good to have a place that opens up earlier to get a good sit down breakfast. The Dixie Grill on Market St is a great classic Southern diner type of place as you see when you walk in, with the menu to go along with it. Most of my visits here have been around breakfast time, and they have a great diner type breakfast selection to choose from. My most recent visit I enjoyed their steak & eggs menu choice and it was very good (see accompanying pic). Everything was done as needed, tasted delicious, and was satisfying. The service from ordering to the end of my meal was on point with a bit of a wait at my table initially, the servers were friendly and helpful. Prices were reasonable as well here, but I noted on my receipt there they state that if you use a credit card for payment there is an automatic 3.5% surcharge added. In all, if you are looking for a good general diner in Wilmington but it's not brunch time yet, go with Dixie Grill. Get there early to avoid waits!

Delicious Market Benedict on an open faced biscuit. Busy when I walked in, because it appears the locals know what's up. Seated promptly, friendly service, great food. Would go again!

Very traditional breakfast place downtown! Been here for years and it is still amazing! The wait staff is so kind! The ambiance is welcoming and friendly!

Food. Fresh. Cooked to order. I had the fried chicken breast atop an open biscuit with a white gravy. And side of grits. Delish. Server was sweet and patient. I sat at the counter as there was a line out the door. Rustic old grill I'd go back anytime.

The atmosphere is a hole in the wall, local diner. The breakfast is awesome! Our food was hot, fresh, and perfectly cooked! The coffee was good, and they brought me some milk to go with it when I asked. They have flavored creamers, butter, jam, jelly, ketchup, and hot sauce on all the tables.

Food, service were fantastic. I had the carolina burger - tasty burger . They have a fabulous breakfast menu as well

We can for lunch on a Wednesday and sat in a booth. It took 10 minutes for our waitress Katie to come greet us and take our drink orders. She then disappeared and never came back. After waiting for another 25 minutes, we walked out. We did spot her walking out taking a single customers order at the bar. All that time, she also had never come back to check on the table next to us who had gotten their food right before she got our drinks. It wasnt even very busy. It seemed like a cool spot, but we'll never know how the food was!

Just some outsiders visiting to drop an instrument off at the music medic, stopped here for lunch. The food was absolutely great. I got the plain burger and shared it with my 2 year old. My 4 year old got chicken tenders and fruit bowl (quite large for a side) and a Caesar salad. If I ever come back to this area I'd be stopping in again.

We came to the Dixie Grill during a trip to Wilmington to watch a soccer game. The place has a really cool vibe, and a great location right downtown. The service was great and the food was good. However, the wait was extremely long, which usually doesn't bother me, but we could see tables that were empty, they were just taking awhile to clear them off. Inhad to ask for our table to be rewioed because it was sticky. The other reason, I am only giving this place 3 stars, the restrooms were HORRIBLE. The doors didn't shut completely and they needed to be cleaned, badly. I want to give 4 stars but the attention to cleanliness needs to be addressed..

Cool place with a really great menu! I had a hard time choosing what to eat! We were bummed that they were out of waffles but guess that means we'll have to come back to try them when we're in Wilmington again

Excellent breakfast place! Aubrey was the name of our server and she was great! The only negatives are the long wait times and the place is good for small parties but would not be able to accommodate a large group due to the layout and small tables. Highly recommended!!!

Incredibly cute typical dining experience. Our server was so friendly and walked us through our first visit...we were so indecisive we wanted to try everything! Great menu options, and the food was comforting delicious and decently priced! Wouldn't say it was my personal favorite quality of food, but overall really good. Great diner breakfast spot, excited to try their lunch menu.
