Good location, rooms are mid, the place is almost empty, dinner was not served the evening I was there. The big downside is that there are no locker for your belongings. There is a place downstairs where you can leave your belongings but you can't lock the doors shut, even if you bring your own lock, so everyone can access... The risk is probably low but don't come if you're the kind to get stressed about getting you stuff stolen.

DJH Jugendherberge Hamburg „Auf dem Stintfang“ is an okay hostel close to Hamburg’s port. Breakfast was decent though the bed price was pricey and the price you see in booking is for members thus if not one then you have to pay extra. Stuff is friendly. For the lockers in the room you need coins..

Great youth hostel. Good breakfast options included in the price. Rooms very good - spacious lockers and basic amenities, key card access. Pillows are terrible, bring your own! Great views of docks

Value for money accommodation. Location was right behind the public transport station, but lots of stairs up to the building! Quiet place, wooden beds were squeaking, room would need some modernization, personal storage space for luggage, toilet and shower was available in the room, cold breakfast, wifi good for chats

The rooms are actually great, compared to other low-budget hotels in the city. Perfect if you need time and peace and quiet. Eileen at the counter will make fun of your misfortunes, so be careful not to show a sad face. Everyone else does a great job. Breakfast is included in the price which makes it very affordable. The breakfast is nutritious and abundant. This place is a little far from the city, and the s-bahn and u-bahn are also very far, but by bus you can make almost any connection. There's a Lidl right across and a Bundi also nearby. The tobacco shop has very friendly people from Afghanistan: 100% recommended. They have game rooms, if you're into that. And there is a flea market next to it in the parking lot of the horse racing tracks. Other than that the surrounding area is almost empty, you need to do a good walk before you find anything interesting to see or do.

I spent three nights at DHJ, and after my first night, I left my room in the morning for business. When I returned, I found that my bedsheets and pajamas had been replaced with someone else's. I immediately reported this to the evening shift receptionist. The receptionist checked the room and suggested that the cleaner might have mistakenly taken my items, rather than the person who had occupied my bed. This was troubling because I had no other clothes for sleeping or staying in the room with five other people, except for my business clothes. The receptionist said they would see what they could do, but then left and never returned. As a result, I had to spend two more nights without any suitable clothes for comfort. While the youth hostel was nice in terms of location and overall features, the handling of this issue was disappointing. The receptionist could have easily provided a t-shirt from their stock or found another solution, but nothing was done. Unfortunately, this experience has left me upset and reluctant to stay at DHJ again. Despite having paid for my stay and the difficulty of finding last-minute accommodations, I felt let down by the lack of assistance and concern. If I return to Hamburg, I will not choose to stay here again, as I cannot trust that my belongings will be secure or that issues will be appropriately handled.

Super positive experience! The crowd staying here is nice and polite. The people at the checkin desk are quick and prepared. The rooms and all spaces are clean and tidy. The breakfast included in the price is super nice, with a wide variety of products. Even the location is great! 100% recommend
