Highly Unsatisfactory Experience The accommodations were deeply disappointing. The bunk beds were hard and uncomfortable, with undersized bed sheets that barely covered 80% of the mattress. The design of the beds was equally problematic, as the hard, poorly constructed stairs caused discomfort each time one climbed up or down. The bathroom facilities were subpar, with showers that were not elevated, causing the entire bathroom floor to become flooded after each use. Additionally, there were no towels or a phone available, further highlighting the lack of basic amenities. The staff’s demeanor was unprofessional, often displaying rudeness and issuing unwarranted reprimands without justification. The dining experience was, without doubt, the most unacceptable aspect. The food quality was poor, the selection was extremely limited, and the dining hours were inconveniently short, with dinner served only from 6:00 to 7:30 PM. By 7:00 PM, most items were already depleted, leaving guests with little to no choice. The location compounded the dissatisfaction, as it was situated far from the city center with no significant amenities nearby, aside from a few overpriced pubs. The only saving grace was a metro station located approximately 10 minutes away on foot. Overall, this experience fell far short of basic expectations and is not recommended.

i had a highly disappointing experience at this hotel. Upon entering the room, I immediately noticed spiders of all sizes and a variety of other insects. To make matters worse, also one of my classmate sae a rat and excrements . It was clear that cleanliness and hygiene were not a priority here. we reported these issues to the hotel staff, expecting a quick resolution, but they did absolutely nothing to address the problem. Their lack of action and concern made the situation even more frustrating. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone and strongly advise looking elsewhere for a cleaner and more professional experience.

Owner had my previous review removed, so reposting it. I booked this hostel for the Oktoberfest in 2020, which was cancelled due to Covid-19. The owner was not willing to compromise in anyway and I ended up having to pay over 500 EURO for a booking that I couldn't enjoy because of Lockdowns. Postponing the booking to a later date was not allowed by the owner. Very non-client centric. And I felt frustrated when the owner decided to have this review removed. So posting it again, with proof of the booking.

Room was filled with cockroaches and silverfish. The breakfast was good but pasta uncooked at dinner. Staff were mostly lovely apart from one man who felt the need to shout. Wouldn’t recommend unless you don’t mind being around bugs.

Nice, calm place. 10 min walk to subway. However, hygiene condition could be better. Cockroach was observed in the room. :o

Location is a little mixed up -relatively central to Munich, but in a rather secluded, not exactly easy-access neighbourhood. And if you're arriving by U-Bahn, it's worth making sure you get out of the correct exit, because the Tierpark Station's entrances are incredibly wide apart, so the wrong one can be a long walk away. You have to make your own bed, and the bottom sheet is FLAT (not valanced), which makes the job a lot harder. The building's layout can be quite confusing, so be ready to get lost on your way to reception. Loved the bedside shelf with two powerpoints and getting a private ensuite room for €50!

Please don't come here if you dislike boiled vegetables. Came as a school group. The rooms were actually fine the only problem was that you had to make the bed and put the bedsheets on yourself, there's also a nice shelf with plugs behind each bed so you can charge your phone. The thin steps on the ladder are painful though. The only problem was serving. I don't think the staff can speak any language let alone German. When serving I told them what they just stared at me as if I did something wrong it took like 7 times for them to understand even though I was speaking german and english. The location's pretty good though there's a station a short walk away.

Brilliant location. Close to a Ubahn station. Close to shops and the Iser River. Beautiful natural swimming pool five minutes walk away. Very clean.

Yelp
Meh. Let's just say I wasn't thrilled to be staying in my first hostel...in general. That makes me sound kind of like a snob, yeah, I get it. I'm not nearly as cool as everyone who backpacked around Europe at 19. But let's just say I'm a little past the point in life where crashing on a friend's couch for the night is a viable option. That's what I would compare HI Munich Park Hostel to...crashing on a friend's (not-so-cuddly) couch. It does the trick for a night's sleep, but it's clearly not like being in your own bed, and you might wake up with a sore neck and a hangover. Luckily enough, everyone in my 6-lady room was fairly pleasant (well, creepy girl dormer aside...) and turned off the lights for the sleeping crashers at a reasonable hour. Toilet and in-room shower stall was pretty clean, although no place to put the soap while in the shower. Boo. Mattress was, as aforementioned, not that awesome, and I had to pluck someone else's hairs off of it before I made it with clean sheets. Ehhh...well, before I freaked out completely, I had to remind myself of the circumstances. ::shiver:: Breakfast is free, and it's not that great. Meat, cheese, hard rolls, and tiny tubes of liverwurst, bland apple juice. Again, fine for the high school crowd. 2 Euros for a towel. If your towel never dries, or you want another one, be ready to shell out another 2 Euros. Other (positive) points for: being in a good location. Thalkirchen isn't in the middle of all-things-touristy, and it's a really easy walk to the train station, which snaps you into the Altstadt area within 10 minutes. Their last-minute availability (which is why I ended up staying here) was helpful as well, and their rates aren't terrible for what you get. All staff members that I had interactions with were friendly in both German and English. Will I be back? Not if I can help it. Will I recommend it to 19 year-old kids backpacking around Europe in the future? You betcha.
