Super unfriendly staff in the evening- day staff was nice enough. The building layout is awful. Required to stay two nights and purchase two meals, each around 10 euro. I wouldn’t pay 1 euro for what we got for dinner. Bedding had hairs all over it. Waste of money, won’t stay again.

The staff in this place is terrible. They are very unfriendly to the guests.||I will not recommand anyone to stay at this plase. Its much better to sleep in your car on the highway than book a room here. They are. Ok thinking logically at all. They only stand there looking down on the guests.

Highly Unsatisfactory Experience The accommodations were deeply disappointing. The bunk beds were hard and uncomfortable, with undersized bed sheets that barely covered 80% of the mattress. The design of the beds was equally problematic, as the hard, poorly constructed stairs caused discomfort each time one climbed up or down. The bathroom facilities were subpar, with showers that were not elevated, causing the entire bathroom floor to become flooded after each use. Additionally, there were no towels or a phone available, further highlighting the lack of basic amenities. The staff’s demeanor was unprofessional, often displaying rudeness and issuing unwarranted reprimands without justification. The dining experience was, without doubt, the most unacceptable aspect. The food quality was poor, the selection was extremely limited, and the dining hours were inconveniently short, with dinner served only from 6:00 to 7:30 PM. By 7:00 PM, most items were already depleted, leaving guests with little to no choice. The location compounded the dissatisfaction, as it was situated far from the city center with no significant amenities nearby, aside from a few overpriced pubs. The only saving grace was a metro station located approximately 10 minutes away on foot. Overall, this experience fell far short of basic expectations and is not recommended.

i had a highly disappointing experience at this hotel. Upon entering the room, I immediately noticed spiders of all sizes and a variety of other insects. To make matters worse, also one of my classmate sae a rat and excrements . It was clear that cleanliness and hygiene were not a priority here. we reported these issues to the hotel staff, expecting a quick resolution, but they did absolutely nothing to address the problem. Their lack of action and concern made the situation even more frustrating. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone and strongly advise looking elsewhere for a cleaner and more professional experience.

Room was filled with cockroaches and silverfish. The breakfast was good but pasta uncooked at dinner. Staff were mostly lovely apart from one man who felt the need to shout. Wouldn’t recommend unless you don’t mind being around bugs.

Owner had my previous review removed, so reposting it. I booked this hostel for the Oktoberfest in 2020, which was cancelled due to Covid-19. The owner was not willing to compromise in anyway and I ended up having to pay over 500 EURO for a booking that I couldn't enjoy because of Lockdowns. Postponing the booking to a later date was not allowed by the owner. Very non-client centric. And I felt frustrated when the owner decided to have this review removed. So posting it again, with proof of the booking.

We had a fantastic 5 night stay with 2 adults and 2 teenagers. Room was suitable with a double bed in one section (with sliding door) and two single beds. Lockable (coin operated) storage cupboards for valuables. Beds were comfortable and linen of good quality, towels are very small but functional. Room and bathroom were very clean. Breakfast was communal with a great variety of cold options that suited all travellers. The one evening meal we had there was also of good quality and variety for a small cost. We loved the location in a residential area with a short walk to the train station and local restaurants / cafes. Despite there being several international school groups staying at a the hostel there was no noise at night at all - this may have been because families appeared to be accommodated down one section of the hostel. Laundry facilities were available and functional. Well priced, great for families and an excellent option in Munich.

Spent 4 nights in Muenchen Park with husband and 4 children. We were given a room with two separate rooms within in with a shower, separate bathroom with another shower and a sink in one of the rooms which was great. Room was on the ground floor and overlooked the lovely outdoor space so kids were able to run in and out to play in the garden which was great. Outdoor space was fantastic with playground, giant chess, table tennis, and some chickens too! Although it's about 6 U bahn stops from the centre of Munich, the train station is only down the road and the hostel is in a lovely neighbourhood so in the evening times we ate locally. We were about a 15/20 minute walk from an outdoor natural swimming pool which the kids loved. The zoo is within walking distance too.||We stayed in lots of different accomodation types during our two week holiday and the only criticism we had about this youth hostel was that there are no blinds on the windows and curtains are very light so as soon as the sun came up the rooms were bright. Would certainly recommend for a family stay - kids loved it. ||Breakfast included in price.

Yelp
Meh. Let's just say I wasn't thrilled to be staying in my first hostel...in general. That makes me sound kind of like a snob, yeah, I get it. I'm not nearly as cool as everyone who backpacked around Europe at 19. But let's just say I'm a little past the point in life where crashing on a friend's couch for the night is a viable option. That's what I would compare HI Munich Park Hostel to...crashing on a friend's (not-so-cuddly) couch. It does the trick for a night's sleep, but it's clearly not like being in your own bed, and you might wake up with a sore neck and a hangover. Luckily enough, everyone in my 6-lady room was fairly pleasant (well, creepy girl dormer aside...) and turned off the lights for the sleeping crashers at a reasonable hour. Toilet and in-room shower stall was pretty clean, although no place to put the soap while in the shower. Boo. Mattress was, as aforementioned, not that awesome, and I had to pluck someone else's hairs off of it before I made it with clean sheets. Ehhh...well, before I freaked out completely, I had to remind myself of the circumstances. ::shiver:: Breakfast is free, and it's not that great. Meat, cheese, hard rolls, and tiny tubes of liverwurst, bland apple juice. Again, fine for the high school crowd. 2 Euros for a towel. If your towel never dries, or you want another one, be ready to shell out another 2 Euros. Other (positive) points for: being in a good location. Thalkirchen isn't in the middle of all-things-touristy, and it's a really easy walk to the train station, which snaps you into the Altstadt area within 10 minutes. Their last-minute availability (which is why I ended up staying here) was helpful as well, and their rates aren't terrible for what you get. All staff members that I had interactions with were friendly in both German and English. Will I be back? Not if I can help it. Will I recommend it to 19 year-old kids backpacking around Europe in the future? You betcha.
