Probably one of the best DJH in Germany. Exceptionnal situation in the central castle of beautiful Nuremberg. Rooms are clean and spatious and the breakfast buffet is perfect. Personnal is attentive and there is a restaurant (buffet style) and a bar on site. Very strict policy noise policy for the groups so be sure to behave and warn your students that after 22pm it's curfew, and wigils on patrol at night.

In summary: Can't believe I paid for this. Last night was an experience from hell. It was so hot in the room, I thought I'm in flames. No fan, no ac, no ventilation. Only one window which was closed due to noise from the street. The room was totally out of air. The room is tiny for 4 people, the bathroom has no door. You come out of the shower right into someone's bed. The smell and noise of snorring and coughing at night prevented me from sleeping. The mattress is hard and the sheets got stuck to my body due to all the sweating. I could barely close my eyes for 10 minutes. Don't know how this place is available for tourists. Only 1 receptionist spoke English. Non membership guests pay extra 3.5EU per night. Keep in mind that you have to make your bed by yourself and return the sheets to a laundry room before checking out. The breakfast was OK I guess. Couldn't really enjoy it as I was so sick from the smell in my room and still soaked in my own sweat. The vegetables and bread were definately not fresh, the rest was OK. The cold water and juice were a good surprise and exactly what I needed after the night. Eventually, as I was due to stay for 2 nights, I left after only 1. No money is worth staying another night. Can't believe I paid for this. P.S Another great gem was at 7:00am when someone started strumming the guitar loudly in the hallway. Probably to wake up the kids who were there for a seminar. I was already awake anyways...

I had a a travel issue when the IC's were not driving between Amsterdam and Nuremberg. The info was announced late by DB, so was too late to cancel my booking. The hostel offered to move my booking to another later date which was a in fact a good solution. The staff is cooperative and tries to help you as much as possible to provide you a pleasant stay and to help you with requests. They also reply quick on mails about your reservation.

We stayed here as a family and found it to be a great place. Excitingly, our room was situated in the tower with fantastic views over the old city centre. The room was clean and well-thought out and constructed (no wobbly bunkbeds or missing lamps). The breakfast was plentiful and tasty. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hostel is actually in a castle and is centrally located but still quiet at night. I'd happily stay there again.

Great environment and very friendly staff! Unfortunately, pillows were totally uncomfortable. Nu plugs close to the beds.

Just next to the famous Imperial Castle of Nuremberg. Stunning view from there. The hostel is quite luxurious as a "hostel". Not the best castle experience in Germany but it is definitely a good one. The breakfast is included and they offer quite a lot of food choices. Coffees are good and they also offer free sparkling water and still water. Rooms is warm enough even in cold winter. It can be noisy at night if other visitors talk in the corridor.

the hostel was nice it has big comfy rooms. it is warm in winter. when you are waiting for check-in, you can get free tea and sparkling water. it has a big castle next to it. And the rooms are not sound proff. and rooms smells a bit like cigarettes.
