Amazing place, thousands of birds of any kind, pelican mostly.not so easy to reach but worthy. Info not online and even there in African style. Cost 5000 each entrance, 10.000 car ( we had a driver) plus 4000 each for the boat tour and 6000 cfa guide. Really worthy. We saw even monkey, wild African pig and sciacal on the way

A really nice National Park for Bird Lovers. Prices are not clear so here are the details so you don't get surprised if you organize the trip yourself: 10.000 cfa Fee for the car to enter the park 10.000 cfa for a guide from the park (no entry without guide) 4.000 cfa per person boat ride (approx. 1 hour) 5.000 cfa per person park entrance fee We found a taxi driver in St. Louis to drive us for 30.000 cfa. After the boat ride we wanted to visit the Miradors/ Watchtowers and Grand Lac, but our guide said that this is not included. I read in the reviews before that this is not true. At the park entrance we weren't given the choice of the "small" or "big" Tour either. You should ask specifically beforehand if the Miradors are included in the price! We gave the guide and taxi driver each 5.000 cfa extra in the end to do the big tour with us. The park should have their rates published for everyone to clearly see. We saw a lot of pelicans, flamingos, an eagle, herons and other beautiful birds. It's worth it, but you should know about the cost before. Enjoy!

The park has plenty of fantastic birds. As usual, however, the organisation is chaotic, untransparent and disruptive to the wildlife. First of all, there are no prices listed anywhere. As a couple, we were charged 38k, including 10k for a obligatory guide and 10k for our car only to drive 7km to the boarding area. Before entering the park, the guide made us wait 20-30 minutes because supposedly the boats were occupied, but in reality he was just waiting for other tourists to guide as well and double his earnings (understandable, but then dont make up a fake reason for us to wait). It would make more sense if the guide was shared across the entire boat (with the guide fee then included in the boat ticket). The boat has a loud (!) petrol engine. For the insane price of 38k for a 2 hour park visit, they would do well to invest in a quiet electric engine that doesnt scare away half the wildlife. That being said, our guide was knowledgeable and the pelicans were very cool to see so close by.

Visit arranged as part of a 14 day tour of Senegal/Gambia. Lots of wildlife spotted through our bus window on the journey there and back. Boat trip (who does not love a boat trip in the warmth ,peace and quiet) Very noisy pelicans!!! Best to visit early in the morning when the pelicans are out and about fishing. I am not a "birder" but thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

This place is totally amazing although I am not a bird watcher, Djoudj almost took my breath - we saw eagles, thousands of pelicans, warthogs, flamingos, gambian gooses, small crocodiles and varans, lots of different species of birds..... I was not expecting much but with our guide Mohamed I rate this trip as one of the best so far.. we have visited this place beginning of december, we have seen so much!!! The best choice we made to visit this national park!!! Advice: take some water and snack with you, we spent there almost 5 hours

While Djoudj National Park itself is a mesmerizing and breathtaking natural wonder that's definitely worth visiting, my boyfriend and I had a traumatic experience with a guide named Pape Alioune and his driver, Ibrahima Sow. During our visit, we were constantly pressured us to pay more than the agreed-upon fee, making the excursion incredibly uncomfortable. When we declined to give additional tips at the end of the tour, Ibrahima became physically aggressive (armlock, pulling hair, etc). He did not stop even when we started crying and only ran away when locals came towards us. This incident left us deeply shaken and distraught. Hopefully, by sharing our experience, others can avoid the distress and fear we had.
