Ermmm…
Reading past reviews.. I‘m just trying to understand why they are so many negative comments about this lovely bookstore.
My impression:
The customer feels like an intruder. It almost feels like the manager, or shopkeeper, or whoever is at the counter doesn’t want the customer to even touch the books.
How you run this place is quite out of touch, since a lot of people like to take pictures of the beautiful book covers.
If you have basic common sense, you would probably not take pictures of the entire book, not even a few pictures out of the book, because of intellectual property, but people are inspired by the books and probably want to keep it in pictures, at least part of the experience, that is in pictures.
It felt like you don’t even have any empathy for this trend.
Also, the books I picked already looked a little bit worn out, since it probably had been on the shelves for a while.
I like my books, clean, especially when they’re new and I asked for a new copy, which seemed to be a very annoying task for the shopkeeper. If anyone can’t ask you anything, why do you sit there and “manage” the bookstore, or is it that the person is very shy?
He looked very confused, tired, anxious.. I don’t know what it is.
In short, I can’t read them.
I don’t think I have to make excuses for them.
I bought the book because I couldn’t find it online where I live, but otherwise I wouldn’t have got it here.
The bookstore itself is very lovely and has a lot of interesting diverse books
