On the Grid : Do You Read Me?!

"Do You Read Me?! (DYRM?!) was founded by designer Mark Kiessling in 2008. Not only does this bookstore sell design-heavy magazine and books, they also organize lectures, discussions, and exhibitions. If you're a lover of print, this is a must-see in the Mitte neighborhood. Do You Read Me?! is located in a small space, but contains more than you can imagine." - Etsy

Google
a small bookstore with hand-picked and curated selection of books, magazines, and newspapers! Most of their printed materials are about photography, art, fashion, and architecture, with some cook books. They have very unique items. I really enjoyed visiting “do you read me” and highly recommend this shop.

Google
A small bookstore, with a selection of magazines as well. It’s worth stepping in for 5–10 minutes if you’re passing by. They have some interesting and unusual books—it’s fun to browse through.

Google
The bookstore offers a wide and diverse selection of books across various categories, including art, architecture, design, and photography, making it an excellent destination for enthusiasts of these subjects. However, customer service could be improved. Friendliness and a welcoming attitude greatly enhance the shopping experience, and small gestures like a smile or returning a greeting can make a significant difference in customer perception.

Gorgeous store, incredible well sorted. One can easily stay in there for hours and sink into the fine selection of all kinds of Magazines. The staff is professional and always friendly. We are selling our self-published magazine there and are very happy about the collaboration.

Google
Very cool bookstore that had a lot of design fashion food related books in addition to some unusual ones such as wood joinery. This is a great place to find a gift for yourself for your friends really well curated books.

I was told not to take photos of the book even if I don’t see any obvious signs about it. actually I just want to take photos to tell my friend I will buy her this book as a gift. Thanks for the shopkeeper to ruin my day❤️

Yelp
For me, I don't come closer to heaven than Do you read me?! And when I'm there it feels like all the amazing magazines are screaming out just that question, or perhaps rather, they plead: please read me, please read me, please read me. And I feel guilty, because I so want to take them all home, but my wallet says no, it tells me I can only take one, or two. So how do I decide? Well, I'm a sucker for both the culinary and the literary section, but there are lots of other goodies as well. This place is hands down the best magazine store I have come across, it's not a place for Cosmo and Better Homes & Gardens, but Lula, Cereal, Kinfolk and journals you didn't even know existed outside of your dreams.

Yelp
This place is great! The moment you step in it feels like entering a different world. Excellent selection of magazines especially around art, architecture, music - in addition a load of books you can choose from. I come mainly here for the magazines though. I think there is no other place in Berlin that has such a quality selection. Also, there are plants magazines in English. Staff is really friendly, people are relaxed. I usually tend to end up for an hour here browsing magazines until I finally can decide which one to take home.

Yelp
This bookstore is just a heaven for book/magazine worms! the name also is catchy and the titles of their magazines and books are appealing as much as the store ambiance. The have a nice variety of titles to offer. Not your average Barnes & Nobles, not an Taschen or Assouline bookstore either, something somehow different ...do you read it?!

Yelp
We visited this store today and it has the best selection of magazines I've ever seen. They're not news magazines; they're about art, design, photography, etc. The store also has some books in those fields, but it was the magazines that really grabbed my attention.

Yelp
If I had a lot of time when I browsed this place, I could've spent a good amount of money in here. Hipster magazines, the Ladybird books "for children", architectural books. It's all here and I'm sure that the people working here would be more than willing help if it came to that. It's spot a one-of-a-kind kind of place and I think you should go.

Yelp
If you're interested in design or fashion, I suggest making time to visit ?! They have an amazing selection of design and fashion periodicals. I'm a scientist by training, but browsing a shop like ?! provides an inspiring look into a more purposefully creative art. Bonus: find an infographic of walk/stop lights across the world. The East Germany man wears a hat and stands like a scarecrow.

Yelp
I saw this bookstore by total chance while I was walking down the street. It gave me serious hipster vibes but it was good vibes. The book range selection was great. You have everything from manuals to text books to art magazines. The atmosphere is quite nice and the books were awesome.

Yelp
best selection of up to date art mags in berlin. bidoun, it's nice that, cabinet, tate... but they should carry New York in addition (or instead of) the New Yorker.

Yelp
One of my favourite stores in Berlin offering a large variety of different books and magazines - all very beautiful. Prices are not that steep and the knowledgeable staff will guide you through their selection if needed.

Yelp
A beautiful and well-designed book and magazine shop! I wandered in with my bf en route to the museums up the street (which are also must-sees, btw) and accidentally spent half an hour browsing, perusing aesthetically-minded periodicals on cooking, fashion photography, even pet ownership! And the prices? Not half bad. I really wish we had a place like this around where we live, although I fear I'd try to live there just so I could read all the time!

Yelp
I'd probably prefer to buy a magazine without a side of scowl. Unfortunate rude service every time I've been in there and so I won't be going back in there again. Nothing here you can't find elsewhere.

Yelp
lots of magazines from all over the world, stylistically ranging from art to gardening, from pop music to sex, architecture, food, you name it, they probably got it. sounds great? could be, but unfortunately every mag looks the same and attracts the same snobby art-school audience. but hey, that's ok. but really annoying was the service. unfriendly, arrogant and non-cooperative shop-owner (or clerk). she didn't even take my fkkn vouchers for a newspaper they are selling there, because that is too complicated for me. but then she asked me if i still want to buy it? of course i did not, and i curse myself for buying the other mags and not walking straight outta that store. no christmas presents from that shop for my loved ones.
