Such a cute, traditional Italian experience! It was like a little taste of being in Italy. The music, the workers were all so happy and singing in Italian. Coffee was great and the Nutella croissant was made fresh, so delicious!!

Sandwich was great, the proscuitto inside was so fresh and tasty. The cheese inside the sandwich was also very salty and tasty which worked so well with the prosciutto then offset by the bread. The pastas here were ok, the favourite of the lot was the lasagna. The salumi board was pretty decent as-well.

On our yearly visit to Melbourne, DOC has been on our list of breakfast places. Last year wasn’t a great meal so we thought we would try it again! Having waited at the required sign by the door for over 2 minutes, I entered the deli to interrupt 2 members of staff asking about a table. We were shown a table outside as our request. We then waited a further 5 minutes for a menu. I then went back in and interrupted the same people to get the menu. The breakfast choices has been limited since our past visit. We gave our order but the gentleman came out to inform me that they didn’t have English breakfast tea , it was 10.30 am. Surely someone could have gone to Woolies for a box of teabags? My husband’s breakfast roll had prosciutto on which was previously cooked but this time wasn’t. My croissant was lacking cheese. Maybe it was a bad day to visit but sadly it will be our last one.

I went to the grocer to get the authentic Italian ingredients for carbonara and the lady there was exceedingly helpful. Afterwards I went to the restaurant next door to sit down for a meal. Now I like al fresco dining so I sat outside but Lygon Street is an older neighborhood with a whole lot of restaurants so I actually saw mice running around. Therefore I would suggest all diners to sit inside the restaurant in this district. The food was great, I had my mocktail and a porcini parpadelle, with a black coffee at the end and it was soooo wonderful.

Beautiful selection of authentic Italian small goods. It’s not cheap but the quality is first class. Service is excellent with the staff happy to make suggestions. We bought all we needed for homemade pizza including freshly made Napoli Sauce Mozzarella, hot Salami and a bottle of Chianti. Perfect. Recommended.

Simple, fresh Italian deli. Great service and fantastic sandwiches. Big recommendation for the prosciutto, so simple yet so flavourful and I think it tops the equally yum Wagyu Bresola. Make sure you get an Italian import drink from the fridge out the back to wash it down.

A diminished deli. A fraction of its old self. I have going there for many years. But today no parmigiana cheese, reduced selection of pasta, reduced selection of bread sticks. All it seems to cater for the coffee machine and some random seating. Sandwich was still great. I will need to look for other deli options.
