D.O.C Pizza and Deli Mornington

Tried this place over the weekend. This place is buzzing located on the corner. We were lucky and got a table even though it was fully booked. The food was great Italian food. The lasagne was very filling. The pizzas were well cooked. The spinach salad was also very tasty. They also has a delicatessen on the side if you wanted to get supplies. Make sure you book a table.

For our 7th anniversary, we wanted to try somewhere different and were recommended DOC Pizza & Mozzarella Bar—and wow, we’re so glad we went! The service was outstanding, especially from Mary, who clearly loves her job. She made us feel so welcome and even offered take-home boxes for our leftovers. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with a smile and seated promptly in a spacious setting. I loved that we could watch the chefs preparing and cooking the food—it added to the experience. We ordered two pizzas along with a focaccia bread, and everything was exceptional. The pizza base was perfectly cooked—light yet satisfying. The fresh, high-quality ingredients made every bite mouthwatering. I’m already planning to go back to try more pizzas, and I’ve heard their sweet pizzas are incredible! The saying "less is best on pizza" really applies here—they use just the right amount of toppings, and the touch of sea salt on the focaccia was a great addition. I would 100% return before I leave, and if I’m ever in the area again, this will be my go-to spot! pizza was absolutely delicious, the tiramisu was probally one of the best tiramisu i’ve had in ages, was a bit pricey but totally worth it, was very very crowded and loud but apart from that the restaurant is beautiful.

Love the vibe of this place, it’s a much more livelier vibe compared to the Carlton one. Love the retro decor. Our four cheese pizza and salad was nice, tasted home made with nice variations in it, I just wished there were more rockets leaves in it. Good experience overall.

Ok pizza Cafe Part of a chain, DOC in Mornington is very similar to others . Small range of pizza and pasta dishes and a selection of drinks. Salad was quite wilted, pizzas ok, entree olives good . The dining room comprises long shared tables which are tightly packed together. This cafe is very noisy - probably due to the concrete floor and lack of soft furnishings. Not the kind of place for a conversation unfortunately. People with mobility issues will struggle a bit here due to the narrow spaces between tables. A separate area set aside for purchasing pasta ingredients and Italian themed foods.

One of my (and my friend’s) favourite spots to eat. The food is always totally heavenly and the wine selection is beautiful. The staff have always been friendly and the atmosphere is warm and fun. In fact, writing this right now makes me want to pop down for more pizza. 🤤🤌🏻🍕🇮🇹

Crap service. Food is a scam. Wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone who values a peaceful experience. This place is usually busy but even if you go during a quiet period like I did, there will be 20 staff roaming the floor, but not a single one will want to approach you. Instead, they’ll talk to their friends, and play dress-ups behind the counter, laughing as loud as humanely possible while they’re at it. My lasagne came out within 5 minutes and tasted microwaved. Then I went to the deli and saw they sell the exact same portions of lasagne being sold for $19, when I had to pay $34! Just for it to be microwaved, which I can do myself for free. The tables are so cluttered together that when it becomes busy, you can’t walk anywhere without having to ask someone to push their chair in or waiting behind a bunch of old folk who can’t hear you saying “excuse me”. This place is so blah and I’m genuinely surprised they have multiple chains. Maybe it’s just the Mornington one that sucks in every single way. Won’t be coming here again. 1 star.

Really good food. Pressure is on them that they’re right across from 400 Gradi. But this joint is more relaxed and casual. Prices are reasonable too. Pizzas are well made. Salads are flavourful. Drinks match well with the food. Menu is simple. Four stars only because some of their staff weren’t that friendly. You felt a passive-aggressive nature that you wish they’d just tell you what you did wrong. Also, they really should have calamari on the menu, just really rounds it out.

Overpriced, waited 2 hours for our food, no cutlery, no signs about public holiday surcharge. Not a good experience for a nice looking but below average restaurant.
