My second time at this lovely location. I attended a week-long retreat, adding three nights on each end. Docelunas doesn't disappoint-- the rooms are very spacious and clean, the staff is accommodating and kind, and the daily breakfast is hearty and delicious. The resident kitties and Luna the dog will keep you company. The grounds are lush and stunning, providing plenty of opportunities to observe the wildlife (monkeys, toucans, iguanas, bats, birds, and butterflies) and examine the many species of plants and flowers. Ask Chris, the owner, to tell you about the many superfoods growing right there in the garden! The spa & studio at the top of the stairs was perfect for our group, and I also had an excellent massage. The town of Jaco is bustling, with many shops and restaurants, and the beach is very accessible. Getting into town is super easy-- borrow one of the bicycles, walk (about 20-30 minutes), or take an Uber. There are plenty of great restaurants in town, with all kinds of fare to please any palate. After the energy of Jaco, I am always grateful to return to the serenity and peace at Docelunas.

I have been fortunate to visit this hotel for the past 12 years, hosting my yoga retreats here. It truly is the perfect place, providing everything we need. The room accommodations are excellent, and the cleaning, kitchen, maintenance, and reception staff are outstanding.||With the organization we bring each year for the retreats, the hotel staff executes everything seamlessly. This has made my experiences of returning with different groups smooth and effortless. Over the years, I’ve developed relationships with the hotel owner and staff, and I genuinely consider them friends. I look forward to seeing them each year.||I also enjoy sharing this peaceful and serene environment with fellow yogis. It’s a place I like to visit even when I’m not conducting a yoga retreat. It always feels welcoming, safe, and like home. I highly recommend this hotel, whether you’re visiting with friends, family, solo, or in a large group. Pura Vida!

We spent a week 5/24 - 5/31 at Doce Luna with a great group of guests. I was apprehensive at first because we prefer a view of the ocean. However, the secluded rainforest atmosphere and the intimate, small resort was a great surprise. ||So close to town ($3-5 cab/Uber) and friendly atmosphere made our week. Chris, the owner, has extensive knowledge about the super foods grown and used in the foods served at the restaurant. We left the resort only two times during our stay.||The pool was a common meeting place for the guests. We would hang by the pool watching the monkeys come down in the late afternoon and feed above our heads on the berries in the trees. ||The staff was wonderful and very accommodating. A great place to stay in Jaco.

This is a nice, quiet property with very close access to the town and tons of great restaurants. It's also only a mile from the public beach.|The pool is very nice and the rooms extremely spacious and well appointed. If you like being in a atmosphere where there's alot of vegetation and in nature you will appreciate its setting. It's a very natural environment and we even saw monkeys in the trees. They stayed to themselves.|The food is good and reasonably priced. I can't say enough about how friendly and accommodating the staff was.|Its a small property with a boutique feel and the vegetarian provides alot of privacy.|One suggestion is that the rooms have metal rooftops. When coconuts or branches land on it it's noticeable. I was glad I traveled with ear plugs.

Where do I start?,|There’s countless amazing things I can say about this resort. Chris and all his team are all amazing, super friendly, super informative and going way over and beyond to satisfy any, and every one needs. The grounds are well-maintained , many opportunities see the wildlife such as iguanas, monkeys, toucan, all the native critters that are in the area! . the rooms are super clean., to get attended to Daily. ( best water pressure in a shower I’ve ever had) Spa services were very good as well.. guest services are very helpful with assisting for transportation to pick you up and bring you wherever you like and the resort is very well secured. Also they provide bikes for you to ride in to town, which is a short walk or bike ride , under a mile.. and all the beaches are extremely close within walking distance. |The number one thing that I can say that my wife and I enjoyed was the food . |Absolutely hands-down, amazing fresh and so delicious. |We have fortunately went down for a week to spend on a retreat with 28 of our friends. |Everyone was extremely satisfied. |Would definitely give a 10 out of 10, and we’ll revisit this beautiful location in the future. |20 out if 10

This the 2nd time since 2005 I come to enjoy star apple known by the local as CAIMITO in the Costa Rico. In 8 days I consumed 30KG of the CAIMITO. My beautiful wife and daughter booked online to stay in San Jose staying at 4 Point by Sheraton. My wife. LONG and daughter ALISON do everything to search for CAIMITO for me wherever they went. Finally, the last three days they decided to go to the Beach about 1.5 hour away from our stay. March 13th 2025, we got to the place they decided to find a place to stay one night in the beach town with my preference in mind. Before they go to the beach after bought 8KG of fresh CAINITO on the way they decided to book the place to stay at DOCELUNAS HOTEL. This place is the gem for those who love to stay in the middle of rainforest. One thing we were regretting why didn't we know about this place earlier we would have stayed there the whole 8 days. The place had the characteristic of Costa Rica Image. We definitely bring the ourselves there when we go next time, and we highly recommend anyone who plan to go to Costa Rico for vacation go stay at DOCELUNA and grab a ton of CAIMITO on the way. During your stay you will enjoy the CAIMITO with Lapa, the big parrot and other animal at DOCELUNA HOTEL.

This hotel is amazing and a really good option if you want to escape from Jaco’s party vibe. The rooms are spacious and clean, there’s a good size swimming pool and a little jacuzzi. What I really loved was seeing toucans and monkeys really close and the gardens. People are really kind and helpful. It’s a little bit far from the beach but we went walking and saw bikes at the entrance you can use if you want to

We held a retreat here. What can I say??? Beautiful resort, lovely accommodations and yoga room! Staff went above and beyond to make our group experience pristine! From meals, to booking excursions, to cleanliness. We just loved our experience, the pool was a bonus and the superfood that grows right on resort was an incredible addition to our menu! Take the tour with the owner, he’s so knowledgeable!!!
