On the Grid : Doctors' Garden

"At the centre of this neat garden there is a monument, dedicated to the medics, who gave their life in the Russo-Turkish War (1877-1878). Hence the name. The garden’s lawns are always well trimmed, with beautiful hedges, many benches, plenty of lights, and even ancient ruins. Favorite place for parents and children during the day and a cool spot for beer or two at night. We predict that the Doctor’s garden will be a trending spot in 2016." - Next Digital Creative

A small bit nice little park with a few different sections. In the middle, there's a monument honouring doctors with a nearby naked baby statue with water taps (i don'tthink that these were operational). At one corner, there's the San Stefano Peace Treaty. There's also a significant section containing Ancient Roman stone artifacts, and lastly, there's a fountain with a landscaped rock garden (this section is called Fontanite). There are also toilets, many benches and a children's playground. It's only good for a visit if you're in the area (it's not far from St. Alexander Nevski Cathedral), but not really worthy of a specific trip to visit it.

It's a very nice park behind the university library, surrounded by a square full of shops, bars, restaurants and fast food places. There's nice benches to sit and have a sandwich and a play area for kids.

One of the better gardens/parks in Sofia, very well maintained, very green and lovely. It is dedicated to, I assume medical doctors who were the heroes of the 1877-1878 Russian-Ottoman War that eventually resulted in Bulgaria gaining independence from the Porte. The monument in the center is very tasteful, there is a fountain, plenty of resting places and bars/cafes nearby
