Dog Point Vineyard

I cannot say enough good things about this winery and the tour we were treated to. My wife and I were driven around the vineyard by Winston, who did an outstanding job explaining the landscape, the fields, and all the work that goes into the growing process year round. His passion for the work was infectious, and I would say I learned more on this tour than any other wine tour I've taken. Winston then took us to their tasting room where we got to try each of their four exceptional wines, as well as one of their aged wines. There was no pressure at the end to buy anything, although we certainly intend to have some shipped back home. Everything about the tour was laid back, comfortable, unpretentious, and personal-without compromising quality. A lot of that is credit to our guide, Winston, who was wonderful! It's obvious how passionate the people at Dog Point are about their wine and their people. They value the quality of their wine over quantity, perfecting their four wines rather than trying to expand for expansion's sake; sticking to the methods they know are best rather than trying to cut corners. Their dedication to growing organic is also extremely impressive. It's very reasonably priced as well, considering how in-depth and personal it is and how much you get in the tasting. It's the kind of place that you want to support. If you are in Marlborough this is absolutely a must-do.

We’ve done many wine tasting and vineyard tours - but Dog Point was truly special. Already before our travels, we knew we wanted to go there for the good (and organic!) wines. However, Kirsty made the whole experience also special from many other angles - showing us the estate, discussing many topics openly and just being very warm. Thank you so much for everything, we will remember this day with every bottle we enjoy.

We had a wonderful tasting at Dog Point. We have a couple of their wines in San Francisco and loved them, so we emailed Dog Point and they got right back to us with their availability for a tasting and brief tour. Everyone was so lovely and down to earth and inviting, and the wines we tasted were even better than the ones we can get in the US. We went to other wineries too and they all said that Dog Point is one of the best in the area!!

We had a fantastic experience at Dog Point Winery! When we arrived on Wednesday, we learned that tastings are by appointment at 11 AM, so we booked for the following morning – and it was well worth it. While they focus on just four wines, each one is crafted beautifully. Winston was an absolute gem, taking us up into the vineyards to show where they grow their different grape varieties. His knowledge and passion made the visit even more special. Our favorites were the special Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir—both exceptional! Dog Point is definitely a winery to remember. Dog point was our favorite wine tasting experience in all of New Zealand. Winston hosted us and was warm, friendly, and provided wonderful insight into the farming practices that go into the wine. The wines themselves were also delicious and he even had us taste a 2011 Sauvignon blanc! He also brought us into the vineyard. Highly recommend booking a tasting with them!

Amazing wines, everyone knows Dog point wines never get wrong, especially their Section 94! Staff members are friendly and helpful. I told them my parents don't speak English and can we have the tour in slow pace. They even arrange a separate tour for us and get their vine manager Mr. Guo who can speak Cantonese to introduce to us. Unfortunately, we can only speak Mandarin, so translation is needed🤣 He knows so well about the vineyards and he is truely love his job and Dog Point. My parents are very pleased with the whole tour. Highly recommend!!!
