On the Grid : Dogwood Coffee

"There's a simplicity in one's experience at Dogwood Coffee in Longfellow that is easy to appreciate. The staff are warm and genuine people, the goods prepared with care, and the space has an honest minimalism that allows a visitor to feel like they're part of what makes this coffeehouse special. Some of the best moments here can be on grey mornings, when the light filters through the windows-- all the way back to the back of the space. There are little two-person booths along the wall outfitted with charming industrial bendable lamps-- making them the perfect nooks to play a quick game of cards with a friend, or to re-immerse yourself in the book you've been meaning to pick back up. And when you're by yourself and in need of a bit of sincerity and a great cappuccino, you can always count on your interactions with the staff to remind you of how much personality can be in the quickest of gestures." - Paper Bicycle

Dogwood is a nice coffee shop! Their roasts are very high quality and the space here is great. It seems like a good spot to catch up with a friend or get a little work done. I ordered one of their seasonal drinks—a brown sugar cardamom latte—and found it to be a little light on the flavor for my preference, but it was definitely still a solid latte with great ingredients. My partner had a drip coffee and said this was very tasty and brewed well. While their price points are on the higher end for coffee in the Twin Cities, you are definitely paying for the high quality you are getting. I also thought the merch they had for sale was awesome—I love their logo and all the graphics they use. It's a really attractive design and I love how they have it printed on their roast beans as well as their to-go cups. Overall this is a solid place and I recommend checking it out if you're in the area!

I used to date a girl who was a roastery supplier rep and she took me to A LOT of different coffee shops, so I've seen most of them in the major Minnesota region. When I tell you that Dogwood is the best, I mean that not just from an atmosphere perspective, but also the coffee/tea here simply tastes superior above the other chains and shops available.

The location wasn't hard to find, plus you just parked on the streets. There were tables and chairs outside as well, I love the first roll of the seats or the front seats because it looks like Korean Ramen restaurant where they have walls between and its small seat for one person plus they have the lights. Make you feel like in a library or home doing homework but also have coffee and breads. It's good for studying and homework. See the last picture. That's what I'm talking about it.

Standout for one of the more elaborate latte artwork I’ve seen recently. Latte art doesn’t equate to a great shop, but it shows someone cares. And a little fizzy water on the side is a nice touch. Nice place, I like the two person tables with lights and outlets. On street parking, little brother to the shop in NE. A good place for coffee and work.

I've been getting coffee here as a semi regular while traveling to help family. Always excellent brews and a great place to meet with people of all ages any day of the week. I don't buy pastries and sandwiches here as a self control matter (^_^) but they do look delicious.

The coffee was so good that I came two days in a row. I NEVER do that!

I have been to several of their locations and the spaces are always nice. The service however is lacking. All of the ones I have been too have had issues making a simple Americano or Latte. It's either the wrong size or wrong flavor. Since their prices are on the higher end. It's hard to get over the poor service.

This place has a top 3 iced mocha in the St Paul area (I have not really tried many west of here but I've been just about everywhere east of here i.e. St Paul). The mix of flavorful espresso with a good balanced chocolate syrup just makes it chefs kiss. This and Backstory are right up there at the top of the food chain for iced mochas imo. Merch they've got here is excellent too along with just the general branding being very cute with custom cups and whatnot. Would recommend I also think the drinks are slightly better here than at the truly St Paul one but that could just be a product of the barista making it each time. Can't go wrong with either though
