"Dok Mali Noodle Bar, launched by Nonglack Thanephonesy, offers a menu that juggles East Asian flavors, from pad Thai to spicy cashew ramen, and playful cocktails like a Thai Long Island Iced Tea. It is located in the same building as SoPo Seafood." - Adam H. Callaghan

Small spot giant satisfaction. Looking forward to coming back. Perfect addition to Mill Creek, Knightville and Ferry Village!! All my spots! I had the pork/zucchini dumplings and the Chili Garlic dish. And in the short time I was here, and it's quick, the TOGOs were flying out the door. Everybody knows! Thanks Dok DT

So happy to have them over in South Portland, and we both loved the design of the interior. Starter of the pork gyoza dumplings (just ok) followed by 2 tasty filling bowls of the drunken noodles with shrimp and the chili garlic. All enjoyed with a nicely chilled singha and a perfectly done bangkok mule.

Had a delicious lunch in July 2024. Great lunch specials which they really should post on their window! Saw several people pass it up for lunch which is a mistake. Our favorite was the Pad Thai! Ready to try their cocktails and dinner! Attentive service and yummy meal!

Simply put, the food at Dok Mail Noodle Bar is amazing…5 stars for sure! We have been to this new Thai restaurant in South Portland a few times now and have had the following menu items: dumpling flight, Japshae, Drunken Noodles, Mali Pad Thai, and Chili Garlic. They all have been great, but our absolute favorite is the Clili Garlic…we ordered it extra spicy and were rewarded with the best Thai food ever! We also had the opportunity to meet chef/owner Nonglac, who was very engaging and a great host. We’ll be back and wish this locally owned business every success!

The chef/ower came to the table after our meal and was super nice. The noodles were amazing and the lobster ragoon was great. It's a cute little spot.

I couldn't be more excited to have a Dok Mali Noodle Bar on this side of the bridge. Food was amazing! Dumplings on point. Bubble tea was yummy. Great service. Everyone was in a good mood and happy.

I just had a rare life-changing kind of meal. The Miso Ramen? The broth is simply to die for and nothing like I have ever tasted. Visiting and unaware of the Dok Mali hype, I had no expectations. I only ordered the dish expecting it to be your typical miso ramen because it was one of the only selections I thought my little kids would eat, and of course they devoured it. After having that, they wouldn’t eat the Pad Thai, usually a favorite. When it comes to soups, I’m obnoxiously hard to please. I spoke with the chef/owner Nonglack who came to our table, and I had to know how she made it. Her unbelievable extensive process includes slow-roasting garlic until it burns. I’ve read complaints about the prices, but people are comparing them to your average Thai takeout. This ain’t that, not even close. They also make all their noodles in-house. I think the restaurant is actually under-charging for the miso ramen. Aside from the phenomenally prepared food, we appreciated how attentive and accommodating they were to our 2yo and 5yo. I wish I took a photo of the miso ramen… Def returning to try other dishes.

A small place that delivers big rewards. Everything is good here. Food was delicious, all eight of us loved our lunches. Staff was friendly and charming. Try a lemongrass margarita.

Yelp
This was a great experience. We parked across the street since snow was covering the spots directly outside the restaurant. Upon walking in, it smelled AMAZING. Like genuine Asian cuisine. We were sat right away and given water. After looking at the menu, we got a mai tai and strawberry sour for drinks. They were so good. We got a bunch of food to try. We got the spicy cucumbers, edamame, and pork gyoza. Then for entrees got the chili noodles and the drunken noodles. Everything was phenomenal and the food came out so quickly. It was a small intimate space. Perfect for date night. If you have a bigger party, there will definitely be a wait time. We had two servers waiting on us so the service was great. The prices were decent. I would definitely come back.

Yelp
Absolutely wonderful. We stumbled into this place accidentally - thinking it was another restaurant. We decided to stay because we all love Thai. Good thing we did stick around, because the food is amazingly good, the drinks superb (which says a lot for Portland, ME that they aren't all full of ice), and the service impeccable.

Yelp
I love everything about this restaurant. The food, the service, the ambience. A friend and I sat at the bar and had wonderful drinks and meals. It's Thai fusion. We had pork dumplings, pad Thai, and a soup dish that I can't pronounce. Everything was five star. A great meal.

Yelp
Delivery order so I can't comment on the restaurant space. All my dishes were vegan (as specified on Dok Mali website menu). It's challenging for me to rate because on the one hand, this is flavorful, high quality Thai food, definitely a step above typical Thai takeout, made with fresh ingredients (though the portions are small). On the other hand, I didn't personally love it, but I really think that's to do with my specific tastes and eating habits -- very healthy plant-based eater who only gets takeout once or twice a year -- and that most people will really enjoy it. I'm just sharing my unusual opinion in case there are other health food weirdos out there like me. Here's my thoughts on each dish: -Fresh Spring Rolls: Nice fresh veggies, liked the two dipping sauces, but I couldn't taste any Thai basil. -Brussels Sprouts: Looked great but I found them too salty to eat. -Scallion pancakes: Delicious, very crispy, interesting dipping sauce, but oilier than I'm used to so they felt quite rich and I only wanted a few bites. -Chive Dumplings: Nicely seasoned, crisp exterior, pillowy eggy middle (hoping these really were vegan). Enjoyed first couple bites, but then they were just too oily and rich for me again. My problem, not the dish -- I'll stay away from deep fried stuff next time. -Veggie & Edamame dumplings: Filling was a bit bland and oddly textured. Nothing to write home about. -Peanut Soba Noodles: Tasty but maybe not great for takeout since the noodles and peanut sauce kind of got mushy/pasty by the time they reached me. Tofu was a lovely texture and crisp on the outside, veggies fresh and interesting (hello purple carrots!). Warning to spice wimps like me, even the 1* level of spiciness had some discernible heat, so expect a real kick at the higher levels. For me this was 3* meal due to personal preferences, but I think the quality is there and most people will love it, hence 4* overall.

Yelp
Food was great. Can't be in a huge hurry because they cook everything right there as it's ordered. I thought people who walked in to order takeout and wait were unduly impatient. We ate in. We had the pork and shrimp dumplings, the tofu burrage (sp?) and pad thai. It was all piping hot and delicious. We'll be back!

Yelp
Living in SoPo this is such a great place. Food was fantastic with lots of choices. The service was great as the staff greeted us with smiles and got us seated right away. Couldn't ask for a better place to enjoy dinner before heading into the old port.

Yelp
Yummy food! Excellent service! Inviting atmosphere! Highly recommended!! What a great addition to the neighborhood!

Yelp
Didn't even get to eat. We waited 45 minutes and was told we weren't on 'her' list. We gave our name to another staff member. Even after confirming with other staff member that we were there 45 minutes prior. The hostess said we were not on her list and had to be on the bottom of the list and expected wait time was another hour. She was rude

Yelp
This place was fantastic! The food was amazing and the staff were equally amazing! The space is on the smaller side but nicely decorated and I really enjoyed sitting at the bar and watching the well oiled machine at work. I'll start with the food; we ordered the pork Gyoza, Mali pad Thai, and the spicy peanut soba. I wanted to order something I'm familiar with so I could make a comparison. This is where the pork Gyoza comes in. It was fabulous! Perfectly seasoned meat with no funk factor and the dumpling part was tender without being slimy and falling apart. These were the best Gyoza I've ever had. My spicy peanut soba was perfect. They were gentle with the spice, which I can appreciate because you can't reduce the spice, but you can always add to it. The flavors were amazing, with the noodles being cooked perfectly, and the vegetables being cooked perfectly as well. I don't even know how to describe just how good this was. I tasted some of my boyfriends Mali Pad Thai and would've been just as ecstatic to eat that dish too. Soooo delicious! I was full halfway through but my tastebuds made me finish it! Lol Now on to the staff; Incredible!! I had the pleasure of talking a little bit with the owner/chef and she was so friendly and never skipped a beat while cranking out orders for both in-house and takeout. The guy that made my fantastic Long Island Thai iced tea and ended up being our server as well was equally incredible. The hostess and everyone were so friendly and just right on top of everything. I feel bad I didn't get names but it was sooo busy. I can't wait to go back! I'd give them 10 stars if I could!
