"The simple space may not look like much from the outside or even from the inside, thanks to the cafeteria-style decor and Subway-style ordering process. Still, a visit here will not only get you the best burritos in the city but also pay homage to the founders of Tex-Mex food in Berlin , who opened this place in 2004 after being inspired by time spent in San Francisco ’s Mission District. The step-by-step ordering may be bewildering at first, but it means you get complete control over your food by choosing among different types of tortillas, rice, beans, and other toppings; different types of meat and vegetarian and vegan options are also available. Avoid peak times if you don’t like crowds or waiting in line."

Great place, love their food. But wish they could do better with the ratio of their burritos. Their bowls are super nice too. Love this place. However it feels a bit overpriced to have to pay extra for pickled onions, cilantro, and sour cream. While I understand that guac may come at an additional cost, the prices for these other toppings seem somewhat excessive.

Wanted to grab quick protien after a workout, and what I got was a Tortilla filled with a lot of rice and sauce and a lot of blank space. I find this was a rip off.

Ordered Wicked beef plus extra of guacamole. It was delicious! The bowl size is pretty fair to the price.

Really good food, and decent quantity. Liked the different varieties of dip they serve.

As an American, I was curious to see if this lived up to the claim of being California Mexican. And honestly, it wasn't too far off! The chips were not great, overcooked and a bit on the bland side. But the burrito (got the wicked beef) and the burrito bowl (got the naughty pork) were both really good. Great amount, super filling, fast service. The agua fresca was also super good and authentic.

Was Lucky to catch a quiet Moment in the Job. And no Kidding my burrito was ready in 30 seconds. Love the Place and staff

I tried burritos, bowls, tacos and chips almost all the available options. It’s decent enough to fill the stomach. But not my favourite Mexican restaurant. Too much crowded. And eating area is not very clean.

Must try if you like the Mexican taste and want to keep it healthy.

Yelp
Delicious burritos with plentiful vegan options but enough other choices that everyone can be sated! Staff were friendly and spoke english so we had no issues ordering even complicated items! Seating is small on the inside, so be prepared to have to take away or find somewhere nearby. We got lucky with our group of 6! Fully recommend their fresh juice choices as I believe they change every day!

Yelp
I am a SF Burrito snob. For many decades. As a novelty, I've had mission burritos all over the globe. Usually, especially Before Chipotle, local takes were fun & often strange - like the gouda & curried chicken burrito in Holland, 1996. But the Germans ... they don't mess around. 2018 I was astonished accidently finding "SF Burrito Company" in Köln. My brain blew a fuse. And the burritos were absolutely outstanding in every possible way. Went there dozens or times. Took my first born there, who was raised on Bay Area burritos. Wow! Then I learned SF taquerias were all over Deutschland. Maybe I should relocate ... Sadly, SF Burrito Co in Köln did not survive Covid. But cologne has other taquerias making magnificent burritos (to be reviewed later). I'd spotted Berlin's Dolores on previous trips but had not tried for a variety of reasons. Enter 2024 and in town with my youngest son (also raised on burritos). I was so excited to try Dolores. But truly saddened by the food experience. I grade burritos on a local curve. And by German standard, Dolores gets 3 stars max. It's basically blander than Chipotle. I'm so let down by the experience, I can't even describe it. I'll start either the Quesadilla as my burrito PTSD is just too strong to reflect on it. The chicken quesadilla was awful. Chicken and tortilla texture felt as if they were both prepared in a microwave. Rubbery chicken that was extremely dry inside. Zero crispness to the tortilla. Next to no cheese. And way too much cilantro on the chicken. And a side of mushy pico de gallo. I'm almost crying in shame reflecting on what a quesadilla from the Mission is compared to this. Ugh. The burrito. Got their house Pork special. Said it was Carnitas. For some reason, it took over 15 minutes to get to us - not a problem but bizarre as they had a burrito assembly line running. Anyway, it was very flabby in construction. No tension in the tortilla to hold it together. And the tortilla was mushy. Not properly steamed or crisped on the grill. The pork was very nice. A highly spiced pulled pork. Definitely not anything like carnitas. I do not believe it was fried or braised. A very low proportion of meat to rice. And the rice ... way too much Cilantro. Texture OK. But soapy cilantro from the rice practically overpowered the pork. Beans - refried which was a nice surprise. They were pretty OK . No cheese. A tiny amount of sour cream. Had a hot salsa in it. But was hardly noticeable and not even hot. Basically, a burrito that was a so-so copy of Qdoba or Chipotle. So sad. So very sad. The dining experience - the place was packed on a beautiful Saturday. A Line spilling out to the street. Nowhere to sit inside or outside. It was wonderful seeing so many couples and families enjoy an SF burrito experience ... I am thankful or this.

Yelp
Their burritos are too damn delicious! I loved every bit of it. The make your own burrito option is a super useful to customise a burrito to your taste. I had the veggie burrito with fajita veggies instead of beans.

Yelp
I'll admit it. As a native San Franciscan, I came here for the San Francisco map mural, and not the burritos. I tend to turn my nose up at burritos on the East Coast so I was a little wary about this German hipster burrito joint's proud proclamation that they served Mission style burritos. Quick burrito snob analysis: First of all, the burrito was wrapped in butcher paper, not aluminum foil, which immediately refuted Dolores's claim of authenticity. The salsa is strangely sweet, and when I recounted this observation to an American expat, she said it was probably derived from the infamous German curry ketchup. And the mysterious green rice (which is apparently basmati rice with fresh cilantro and lime juice, according to another Yelp review) threw me off completely. Still, when it boils down to it, Dolores is just a healthier version of Chipotle (c'mon, iceberg lettuce in a burrito?) with a plethora of vegan options to appease any friend you bring here. And they have Anchor Steam beer for sale, which definitely appeases this San Franciscan. It won't be the greatest burrito you'll ever eat, but it won't be the worst. The €6.50 Easy Chicken burrito is delicious, though a bit light on the cheese according to Mission style burrito standards. You can also create your own burrito à la Chipotle. And on the plus side, it's always easy to find a seat here! It's worth a visit for the decor (again, biased) and the novelty factor of a burrito in Berlin, but you should really be stuffing your face with a döner instead because god knows you'll have a hard time finding an authentic döner back in the States...

Yelp
I just visited this place today. They had a variety of food and vegan options. I had the vegan lover burrito. I wish they had a more variety of drinks/beverages. I will come back!

Yelp
Great mexican food, all fresh and spicy. The burritos are large, the bowls even larger and there's a wide variety of toppings one can choose from. The atmosphere is noisy and due to the popularity of the food the place is always packed, especially on a Saturday night. So be prepared to wait a couple of minutes for your food or an empty table. In the end it's all worth it as this is one of the best Burritos you will find in Berlin.
google avatar

Randall H.

Yelp
This spot is just Mexican-ish in my opinion (and I eat a LOT of Mexican food). It's more of a California-style burrito joint, where you can choose what goes inside your tortilla. In order to avoid the gluten of a wheat tortilla (always standard for burritos) I ordered soft tacos with carnitas, and they were tasty but had too many ingredients inside--I should have skipped the beans which sort of gummed it all up, but then again I don't expect a real Mexican eatery to offer me beans along with meat in a taco. It's good enough food, the quality seemed to be there. It just felt more California than Mexico to me.

Yelp
Amazing food and service! Tried the burritos and they were yummy. Will be definitely coming back soon to try the rest of the menu.

Yelp
Dolores is a California-themed and popular joint for burritos and tacos near Alexanderplatz. Good marks for the creativity and the concept: - funky interior with indoor and outdoor seating - large menu with a good variety of options (burritos, bowls, quesadillas, tacos, soups) - fresh ingredients - decently priced Burritos are done Mission-style (burrito with rice, guac, and sour creme). I personally missed some flavor in my beef burrito (which was 60% rice), and the same with the burrito bowl - it was pretty heavily loaded with rice and nachos instead of veggies. Other than that, Dolores has an interesting concept and is probably the best way to get a San Francisco feel right in Berlin.

Selin Y.

Yelp
Food was incredible but service time is a bit long. Stickers on the walls are fun to look at.
google avatar

Yelp
The rating description sums up my thoughts nicely - meh, I've experienced better. Like many others have stated, the burritos here are similar to Chipotle's, but these burritos taste more like wraps. I ordered the Chipotle chicken burrito (probably a bad move on my part) and it tasted like the BBQ chicken snack wrap from McDonalds. There was also a big chunk of chicken bone in my burrito, which was not appetizing at all. One good thing is that the portion size is decent and will fill you up. Because I'm from California, I've only been to two burrito places, Dolores and Mishba, in Berlin, and I honestly thought Mishba was better.

Yelp
It's so nice to get a bit of home when you travel abroad, and Dolores would likely please any Northern Californian coming to Berlin. The big thing that strikes you when you enter their eating area is the huge street map of San Francisco's Mission District that completely covers the back walls (see photo). Then it struck me - not the sharpest tool in the shed - that the name of the place comes from the Dolores 'hood - Dolores Park, Mission Dolores. But the irony is that Dolores looks nothing like a Mission eatery which would have meant a lot of yellow and orange formica and pinatas hung from burnt-out florescent lights. Nope, this feels like an outpost in a suburban mall like a Baja Fresh only smaller and with no free refills on your Coca Cola Light (it costs 1.80 Euros for a small bottle). The other thing that threw me is that there are two hipster-types behind the counter, and I kept waiting for them to take my order. Oh no. You need to go to who I assume is the manager, who is at the register and sniping at me not to take photos of the place with my iPhone. No one explained the order process to me for five minutes as I watched a young family simply bypass me and get their food. When I finally got it, I stooped to patronize..."Is anyone interested in taking my order?" at which the manager blurted "But of course". I went for the 3.70-Euro Quesadilla with Roasted Corn (free), Guacamole (an extra Euro), and Carnitas (1.30 Euros) (see photo). The portion of pork was a bit paltry, but the ingredients were fresh, at least compared to a lot of other food I had in Berlin. Otherwise it pretty much tasted like any quesadilla you could get in a food court. It's in the central Mitte district just a hoot and a holler from Alexanderplatz but far enough from the tourist throngs to keep its cool quotient. I can understand its popularity in Berlin since there is nothing else like it. If you're from the US and hankering for a bit of home, Dolores works pretty well in that regard. FOOD - 3.5 stars...a good quesadilla although a little more carnitas would be muy bueno, por favor AMBIANCE - 4 stars...loved looking at the map SERVICE - 2 stars...not impressed with that hint of indifference I just want to slap out of people TOTAL - 3 stars...California dreamin' on such a Berliner's day

Yelp
Mexican food in Berlin you ask? I say yes indeed and quite tasty. It was a very busy spot, tourists and locals filled the place, line out the door full. Small dining room inside and small sitting area outside. 5 people in our party, ordered and sat down with family to wait for the food. It was pretty good Mexican food for Germany. Chips and salsa were authentic as was the chicken, beef, beans and rice. The servings were good sized as well.

Yelp
I'm from San Francisco. I love burritos. I've searched far and wide for a burrito in Berlin that comes close to the authentic flavor of your standard Mission taqueria. Oh look, it's called "Dolores", I thought. These guys must be from SF! They must know what a proper SF burrito is supposed to taste like. I was so excited! I got a hefty burrito, carnitas, black beans, guac and extra salsa. I took one bite. Nope. The rice is wrong. The tortilla is not warm enough, and dry. There's not enough cheese. The salsa and guac don't really have much flavor besides avocado and tomato. The meat is pork but just sweet instead the of savory-sweet-salty complex that proper carnitas should be. The burrito as a whole is cold. Don't be fooled, as I was, by the wallpaper and the name. Dolores is the same non-Mexican halfway-to-a-doner "burrito" that is peddled by every other burrito place in Berlin. The search continues...

Yelp
Every bite was filled with spices and tastiness. Indoor seating is limited but the food is worth it.

Yelp
Basically, everything I wanted to say has already been said by Tara M., but I'll say a few things just the same. The burritos are the best I've found in Berlin, thus far, but they're more like something from Chipotle than from any given Mission taqueria. Still, given what they are, they're good. I love all the vegan options, which allow for plain burritos or incredibly fancy and elaborate ones, and I love that I can wash it all down with a bottle of Anchor Steam. I also like that I can get a good dose of nostalgia when I'm here; sitting inside and staring at the walls, I see the streets where I've made memories, either going to shows or visiting friends, hanging out in the park or riding my bike semi-drunk down the street, and more. Most people will love this place for its Mexican food. San Franciscans will love it for its small and partially whitewashed reminder of home.

Yelp
When I originally found Dolores I laughed and mocked the idea of there being an SF Burrito place in Berlin. Then after a long day of wandering the city my husband and I decided we needed to give Dolores a shot, after all we practically live in the Mission. Maybe it was because I'd set my expectations low, but I was really quite pleased with my burrito. I built my own with shredded pork, cilantro rice, fajita veggies, guac, cheese and sour cream, topped with their habanero sauce. I wanted it spicy! Is it like a burrito in the Mission, no, but it is really good. I was mostly impressed with the quality and quantity of their pork. I would have eaten the shredded pork by itself it's that good, and I dare say it's better than any shredded pork I've had in SF. It was a very generously sized burrito and I ended up not being able to finish the whole thing, and I hate leaving food behind. My husband had one of their burrito bowls, it was a bit more like a giant taco salad, but still pretty delish. The only thing we didn't really care about were the chips. The chips were a bit greasy but they make them themselves so points for trying. Not cheap but not super pricey given the amount of food you get. They have plenty of seating inside and a bunch of picnic tables outside. Food comes up pretty fast, and the place was hoppin'. If you're in Berlin you should obviously try to eat something more local, but if you're there for a longer stay definitely give Dolores a try.

Yelp
Great Mexican(well, really more Californian-Mexican) place in the center of Berlin. You never could go wrong with burrito for lunch!

Igor C.

Yelp
I really liked the place because of its warm vibe. The staff is really nice and the wait is never longer than 10 minutes. It's a little spicy but I like it. It says it's from San Francisco and I really taste that. I like the burritos the most! 100% recommend If you want Mexican in Berlin!
google avatar

Maggie H.

Yelp
It's like chipotle? but not. The concept and size of the meal definitely remind me of establishments in the US. There is just something missing in the flavor of everything for me though, and I find it a bit too salty.
google avatar

Rosie C.

Yelp
Meat and burrito overall tasted fresh and it was a good portion size. Mild flavors, nothing interesting but tasted good nonetheless. Smaller than US burrito counterparts but that's ok!
google avatar

Eden M.

Yelp
i wish i took a picture of my burrito but i was sooo hungry i ate it so quickly. i got the vegan friendly burrito and added sour cream - SO GOOD. i loved this spot in berlin
google avatar

Thomas S.

Yelp
Unfortunately it's essentially a Chipotle burrito, not a Mission burrito, and no name, nor wall after wall covered in wall-paper maps of the Mission District can change that. Maria Bonita farther north was an infinitely more satisfying solution to my California/Mexican craving while in Berlin!
google avatar

Jen B.

Yelp
I needed food! Mexican sounded perfect and we ran out to find this place after some yummy food! The food was good and the place was packed. Super hard to find a spot to sit. Their chips are are sooooo good and was everything.... everything until I got to the chicken with curry on it Why??? I know it's a German thing but totally not necessary!!! Just couldn't get past it but locals must love it! Just a word of warning to those not German and not expecting it.
google avatar

Catarina M.

Yelp
I know, waiting in line sucks but let me finish: it's totally worth it in Dolores. I asked for a chicken avocado burrito and boy, it was enough to feed my entire family! Very efficient and fast service, even though it was packed - lunchtime is like that, live with it - I just waited for a few minutes. I live just across the street and I have serious problems in avoiding eating Mexican food everyday! Beware of pickpockets while waiting in line to pay for your meal. Update: pork burrito is even better!! Ask for extra guacamole if you feel naughty (the burrito is called naughty pork) :)
google avatar

William K.

Yelp
Good Mexican in Europe can be hard to come by, but this place definitely hit the spot for an American longing for a good quesadilla after a month abroad. This affordable place had a line out the door when I arrived so I knew I had found something good when I came across Dolores. I got the chicken quesadilla with a coke in a glass bottle absolutely famished after a long day of travel, and I was impressed with the price and size of the quesadilla. It was very good and a generous portion. Definitely worth a stop!

Yelp
Moving some of my old reviews over to Yelp. This review was originally written/posted on 10 Oct 2010. Great vegan burritos! The "Dolores Vegan Burrito" was pretty great! It came with lime tofu, black beans, veggies, salsa, guacamole, and brown rice. It was huge and tasted VERY good. I really loved the way they cooked the tofu and loved all the other flavors too. There were a few other vegan burritos and also a 'your own way' menu too. If you're going to Alexander Platz for the day I'd say this would be the perfect place to grab lunch.
google avatar

Andrena F.

Yelp
This is an easy review for an American. If you like Chipotle good chance your gonna love this place. If you don't move on nothing to see here
google avatar

Stefan W.

Yelp
Darn this place is good! I feel a bit reluctant about writing this review as the place will be even more packed then usual the next time i go there..... The food here is great if you crave mexican. We had a quesadilla bonanza on our visit with pork, beef and chicken quesadillas with different spicy salsas. It was all amazingly delicious along with the in house brew that reminded me of a Corona or Sol. My favourite was the pork quesadilla because of the juicy meat packed with flavor. Im sure the burritos and tacos are equally good but i will have to try for myself next time. The nachos with real guacamole, pico de gallo, peanut salsa and fiery habanero salsa should not be missed. By the way by 2 or 3 beers per person right away as you going to need it and you dont want to stand in line for another beer........ Simple and friendly atmosphere and good prices make this place very popular.

Yelp
Standard Mexican food. Nothing special. You do get a lot in the burrito so make sure to go on an empty stomach. Ordered the spicy chicken burrito, had flavour but not the best Mexican i have had. Ordered a fresh apple juice ( everyone has their own variation) but this was the definition of fresh. Bit to much for myself. Might not be for others but wasn't nice. Nice little cute shop though.

Yelp
I loved it. Very yummy. The portions are sufficient and the prices are reasonable. Would recommend. Going to come back.

Yelp
The American occupation of Berlin continues despite the Berlin Wall coming down! Dolores is a burrito joint that seems to have been lifted straight out of California and plonked in the heart of Berlin, close to Alexanderplatz. The staff all sport American accents with the same chirpy demeanour we expect You can customise your burrito to your heart's content if you want or you can choose one of their pre-made selections. I choose the lime chicken and complemented it with lemonade As burritos go, this was an enjoyable one with succulent chicken given more life with the guacamole and salsa I had in the burrito. The lemonade was nice and refreshing even if the weather outside was perishing (my first white Easter!) It can get busy with the limited seating filling up quickly but if you fancy a bit of CaliMex in Berlin, this is a good option
google avatar

Shannon Z.

Yelp
It's no SF Mission-Style burrito, not Mexican nor is it even Chipolte worthy, Dolores is a burrito you would only find in Berlin. I respect the need for diverse food in Berlin I just don't think this is the best representation of SF Mission-Style burrito but rather a bland impersonation. The beans were tasteless, the rice was basic, the toppings were eh, and no hot sauce on tables. An extra star for vegan and gluten-free friendly. I am running back to SF now! bye!
google avatar

Maddie F.

Yelp
Good Mexican food but cleanliness was a huge issue for me There's about 7 people on staff, seems like a lot for a small place like this. Most were standing around texting or chatting. I couldn't find a clean table to sit at Watched a staff text with gloves on, then put her phone away and make someone's food... not acceptable for food handlers With all the staff standing in front, maybe one of them could greet people as they walk in.
google avatar

Jens J.

Yelp
Jens' seal of approval. Very tasty Burrito and a good spicy habanero sauce to it. Definitely recommended to go and try out. If I have time I'll come back :-)
google avatar

Maggi S.

Yelp
We went there on a Saturday afternoon and the place was full but the service was actually very fast and we didn't have to wait a lot. Burritos were decent with a huge amount of filling and very very cheap too. If you are in the neighborhood go try it!
google avatar

Salini N.

Yelp
Honestly, it was probably not the best move on our part to go try to get Mexican food in Berlin at a place with map of the Dolores neighborhood inside, when we're from SF. It was fine, it was really nice to get some spicy salsa and have something different, but overall it didn't hit the spot. The chicken was very dry and the burritos were very reminiscent of Chipotle, probably one of the more disappointing meals. Its a very cool looking place, and its super popular, so be prepared to wait a bit.
google avatar

Taylor R.

Yelp
Full disclosure: this review is probably a bit unfair because I work precisely 5 blocks from the real Dolores Park in the Mission District of San Francisco. I've eaten my way through practically every taqueria in a 1 mile radius here. When I heard the rave reviews about Dolores, of course we had to go! The SF kitsch was definitely cool, but unfortunately, the burritos themselves would lose a match up with the "worst" burrito you can get in SF. It's probably down to lack of competition-- SF burrito joints sometimes go head to head with 5 other taquerias on the same BLOCK, so there is no option not to knock your socks off. The guac is on point, as is burrito size, but the fillings were really lackluster. I felt like a monster every time a Berliner found I was from CA and raved about Dolores-- I tried to let 'em down easy! Next time I'm in Berlin, I'll stick with a steady diet of doner kebabs, which is the street food Berliners get oh so very, very right. And if you're ever in SF, hit up the Mission and find out what I mean!

Yelp
I was skeptical about this place as well. Burrito's in Germany? Besides, why eat something here that is common back home? Let me tell you right off I ate a lot of really good burrito's growing up in California, where some say the burrito was born/created by Mexican immigrants. So that made me a bit hesitant going here as well. But on a rainy afternoon why not try something you won't normally get? Well, these guys running this place must have been to California as well, as they get it right. They are set up where you select different items. The menu is posted above the action so it is easy to figure out and plan out what you want. Of course the choices can be a bit overwhelming. I mean you are trying to decided what goes with what for the best taste, right? For those of you needing guidance, there are some "preset" burrito designs. Also makes it easy to order in a hurry instead of going through the 4 steps it takes to order something custom. This part of the menu is also in English for our tourist types. We had a carnitas burrito, with black beans, lime cilantro rice with salsa. All very tasty and worked will together. The Carnitas was more of the mexican variety rather than Caribbean, which is a plus in my book, but could have used just a little more spice, but was a good version, just not the best I've ever had. Which is ok, 5000 miles from home. Size was impressive and those of you watching your portion sizes, split it with a friend. Those of you hitting this place after the bars, your munchy alcohol induced hunger will be satisfied. The number of tables is small, so my suggestion is bring a friend. Have the friend grab a table while you handle the order and then you both sit down to enjoy a pretty damn find burrito. They also have quesadillas and "taco" bowls, but stay with the burrito and you won't be sad.

Yelp
I really liked this place! I wasn't expecting to find a Mexican restaurant with a California theme in Berlin, but I'm very happy I did. The burrito bowl I order was very filling and I loved that it came with chips in top. This would be a great place to sit outside, eat, & catch up with friends.

Yelp
Authentic mexican food , I come from CA and I was craving mexican food and found this gem

June K.

Yelp
I really love Dolores for their easy and simple Burritos. Ordering here is super easy since it's explained step by step. Food comes usually really quick and the only problem you might have is getting a seat. Since this place is well known and loved you have to make a make compromises such as joining a table where other people are already sitting but hey why not? It's a good opportunity to meet new people! I love their burritos, my favourite is a mix of: chipotle, Mexican super rice, fajita veggies, cheese and smoky corn soy. BOOM! Their ice teas are also extremely good and not overly sugared! I usually visit this place when I'm close by and not in the mood for Asian food.

Egon F.

Yelp
Practically is a joke , how they dare to call this a Mexican restaurant, don't go there if you want to eat Mexican food.
google avatar

Robert S.

Yelp
Whenever I spend any extended time in Berlin I begin to miss burritos. Specifically the San Francisco style Burritos where I live. When that happens I come to Dolores and place a very careful order. I say "careful" because they have a lot of Germanized ingredients that should be avoided. Specifically Update: just not as good as it was in the past unfortunately. They changed their menu, and ever since the quality of the food hasn't been what it once was.
google avatar

Cathy Z.

Yelp
Dolores seems like a popular burrito spot based on the 10+ minute wait time. However, I wasn't super impressed. I got the "Naughty Pork," and although I appreciated the name, the pork itself was so dry (not in the good, crunchy way) that it practically hurt to swallow, and its strong orange juice flavor took over the whole burrito. The flour tortilla was nice and soft, and I liked the zesty green rice, but the beans were too thick and goopy for my taste. Maybe I'm just too partial to a more juicy burrito, but I was really wishing for more salsa (maybe the Habanero?) or sour cream to rescue the texture and the flavor. I'm still grateful to Dolores because at only 6.50, my burrito made a filling dinner and rescued me from eating German food one too many times. The ordering process was also very streamlined and easy. Still, in the end, even these good qualities and my undying love for burritos couldn't redeem the unbalanced food here :(
google avatar

Nick S.

Yelp
While nowhere near as good as Maria Bonita, Dolores is still a solid option for some quality eats. I hesitate to use the word "Tex-Mex", because almost all Mexican food outside the states falls into this category, and I'd actually classify their menu more like a "Mexican-inspired" one instead. There's a good mix of options, from pork carnitas to spicy chicken in any form you desire, be it bowl, burrito, taco or quesadilla. The prices are also quite good, but not as cheap as Berlin often is; a meal + drink should top out around 8-10 EUR. A word of advice- get there EARLY if you plan on going on the weekend. I went this past Sunday and there was a line out the door before they even opened.

Got a heavy food poisoning from a Burrito ( Vegan Friend ). Definately not my friend anymore.

Yelp
This place was recommended to me by several friends. I'm not a big fan of burrito, but I decided to give it one more shot, in one of the best (apparently) shops in Berlin. The biggest downside is that the place gets very crowded at lunchtime (I passed it a couple of times before), so you need to factor that in. Staff could be more helpful, but with that many customers it's understandable that they want to focus on serving you quick. Prices are average for Berlin (€6-7 for regular sized fast food meal). The food was fresh, and okay, but still haven't changed my opinion about burrito.

Yelp
My expectations were high as was my desire for Mexican food. I ordered the vegan friend and it was served quickly. The tortilla is a nice texture and it was folded well. However, the inside was one mushy texture and quite sweet. The spices used resembled curry and not at all what I'd expect in a burrito. However the habanero salsa was truly spicy but not overpowering. I had a few bites of the pork burrito which contained tasty pulled pork but was also quite sweet. We got a side of chips were slightly overcooked and greasy. The fresh salsa served with them was sweet and bland, fresh is certainly not a word I'd use to describe it. We also got the guacamole which had a great texture and seemed fresh but it was quite bland. It explains why so many people were returning their trays with 1/2 eaten plates of food. The food is not terrible but it's not good enough that I would go back. On the upside service was friendly and they offer some unusual beers.
