Dolphin Discovery St Kitts

Dolphin Discovery St. Kitts is a mixed experience, but the dolphin encounter itself is the reason this still lands solidly in positive territory. The trainers were excellent and clearly knew what they were doing, and the interaction with the dolphins was genuinely awesome. Our kids absolutely loved it, and those moments are what ultimately saved the review. That said, there were several frustrating parts that kept this from being a truly great experience. The biggest issue was the photos. They are extremely overpriced, and it should be made very clear ahead of time that this is your only way to get pictures since phones are not allowed during the experience. Finding that out afterward felt intentional, and the photo staff was very pushy, repeatedly claiming they were giving us a “deal” at around $330, which was hard to swallow. We also had a rough experience with logistics. The staff member managing the tour buses was rude and unnecessarily pushy. We were told one thing by our original bus driver, then forced onto a different bus by her, only to find out that bus was wrong. We had to get off again and wait for our original driver anyway, which was stressful and poorly handled. If you isolate just the dolphin experience, it’s fantastic and memorable, especially for kids. Unfortunately, the surrounding execution, communication, and aggressive sales tactics really detract from what could have been a much better overall experience.

I had a great time. The process and instructions were very organized. The guide who accompanied us on the short van ride (run down) from the cruise port did a good job of preparing guests for what they would experience, what to do, and was well spoken / easy to understand. Everything was clean, if a bit run down - I was fine with it. The dolphins were wonderful and performed every trick perfectly with each of the 6 in our group. I was glad the group was no larger. The only drawback (and 4 stars) is how quickly every trick is over. The 2 "swims" were maybe 10-15 seconds each. Of course the kisses and poses were more about photos (which we ALL want) than interacting with the dolphin. Yes, the photos were expensive. There is no opportunity to take photos yourself ( I don't know about having an Observer along with you - they pay too, cost unknown to me). To us, this was a time to cough it up and Pay the photo costs. To each his own. Ours were $150 / all the digitals. The process of getting the photos into your possession wasn't bad, and you get them immediately. The souvenirs in the shop are limited. I had a great 70th birthday here. Oh - max age is evidently 79.

I almost canceled my lifetime bucket list item because of comments by others about how cruel it was. Others assured me it was a nice and reputable facility. We learned a lot about dolphins in captivity. Numerous safety protocols were enforced to ensure dolphin safety. The dolphins were strong and healthy. Their habitat, natural. At 60 years old, I felt like a little girl watching Flipper at my grandma's house 55 years ago. I wouldn't trade this experience for anything! Penelope was beautiful and extremely talented. It was obvious she was in great hands with her trainers, guides and caregivers. I highly recommend Dolphin Discovery St Kitts AND the photo package. You won't be disappointed.

This is my third time doing a dolphin encounter, first time here. This was the best one so far! Nice people, sweet dolphins. Pictures are a bit overpriced but I bought them anyway.

Simply an awesome experience. The dolphins seems well looked after and happy. Friendly staff too.

Enjoyed this quite a bit. Did the basic experience and the handler was interactive and informative. The dolphin was gentle and well behaved. Would definitely repeat. The cost of the experience was a good value. The cost of the photos was absolute greed. If the photos were priced more reasonably, this would have been a 5 star review. Photos cost more than the experience. Digital photos I might add. Not printed.

Gustavo was amazing!! The whole experience was awesome. I got lucky and was the only one who booked at the time I was there so it was a one on one experience. Waited a lifetime to do it and it did not disappoint!!

I did this excursion with my 14 year old son who isn’t impressed by much. We had SO much fun! You get a lot of hands on time with the dolphins. The trainers do a fantastic job making sure everyone gets good pics. The pics are way overpriced but I bought the package anyway. Highly recommend.
