Dolphin Hotel and Restaurant Inishbofin

This was our first first time on Inishbofin. Outside of the accommodation I enjoyed discovering what the island had to offer. A courtesy car was sent to collect us on arrival at the pier and a mini bus on our departure. Both vehicles have seen better days and to me they were a poor first impression. ||From the online photo's of the hotel and the guest ratings I was of the thinking that we were staying at a 3/4* hotel. This was far from the case. On a positive note our receptionist / waitress was very friendly and welcoming. The hotel itself certainly needs a make over and attention to detail. From the photo's attached you can see why I gave the hotel a poor rating.

The people! Owner and staff made the trip along with the views. Easy and comfortable, nothing is too much to ask. |Start the day with a brilliant mini or full Irish breakfast, go walking for the day, spread the wealth and eat out but finish with a pint or two at the hotel. Super way to end the day with drink, laughter and the craic. Repeat.

Myself and my husband stayed at The Dolphin for a recent Bofin music festival. It's a 10 minute walk to the harbour and close to a gorgeous beach to swim daily! Pat, who runs the place is a legend, and Anneka and everyone else who works there treat you like family. Yummy brekkie, clean and comfy rooms, pick up and drop off to ferry, on an idyllic island. A must stay.

We stayed for 1 night in this wonderful hotel. From being collected from the boat to the warm welcome we received our stay was just brilliant. The breakfast was lovely also and the service top class. Would highly recommend this hotel. We completed some lovely loop walks and this was a great location. Thanks we will be back.

We had an excellent stay in Dolphins Hotel, Boffin - June 2024. We were very kindly picked up by Hotel owner, Pat and the lovely Ruby who were both very helpful in getting us settled in to the hotel and making us feel at home. The room was spacious, spotless and comfortable. All the hotel staff were incredibly accommodating. Breakfast was excellent and served with a few great one liners from Pat! Overall, a brilliant little hotel on this gem of an island. We will definitely be back! Thanks Pat, Ruby and all in Dolphins Hotel.

Delighted with the hotel and the service during our stay. Pat was hilarious as he squashed 8 of us into his High Ace van and gave us a great introduction to the island with his sharp wit! The rooms were spacious and clean with a beautiful shower. Breakfast was freshly cooked and tasty. The hotel is 10-15 min walk from the Pier. Beautiful views all around. The ferry crew calmed my anxiety on our return home, when Pat hadn't arrived with our bags and everyone else was loaded. They said he'll turn up with a big smile at 3 minutes prior to departure, and so it was! Got loaded up and departed on time! Gotta admire his laid back approach!

The missus and I had heard Inisbofin was a lovely island so we looked for accommodation and landed on the dolphin hotel. The vibe is relaxed the people are sound the food, pints and service was top class. Pat the hotel owner and his staff were very friendly and very helpful, we will be back for sure, thanks folks, Aran and Aoife

First trip to Inisbofin last weekend for 3 nights. Went with friend. Loved it. The Olympics kept us going on the one wet day we had last Sunday. Really enjoyed staying here at Pat's hotel, friendly and cosy with a lovely cooked breakfast. Pat is very astute and very funny with the one liners. A big call out to Annieka who served us breakfast every morning. Thank you for your good humour and efficiency. 😊 I didn't mind if I got mine a bit late the morning I was leaving on the ferry. I just wanted to make sure I would keep it down in the event of a rough crossing😀 I would stay here again without a doubt. Great strong shower in bathroom and great warm blankets for the beds if needed. Thanks to Pat for the pick up from pier on arrival and lift back on morning of departure. Hope to see you all soon.
