Although Dolphin House was closed the day we were in port, we were still able to walk around the property. It was a really cool experience to see this building made from recycled materials.

We recommend you do the tour with the creator of this unique building, Ashley Saunders. He is Bimini’s Gaudi with his artistic talent. Very unique! He even incorporated our Boat Business Card in a Wall Mural in one of the rooms. Watch our YouTube video below to see more of his work. https://youtu.be/tBACJ9Owh78?si=NIkYzXT2G2yBHRzR

Ashley Saunders is an inspiration! Seeing such a great project born from an encounter with wildlife shows that anyone can achieve anything they set their mind to. Full of culture, interesting pieces used to build the house and use of parts from manmade materials and pieces from the beach, it really is a work of art. Ashley gave us a tour and was very generous with his time, conversation and was just lovely to meet.

The whole house is very artistic, it is hard to imagine that it was done by one person! Originally, my husband did not want to go, but after he visited, he felt it was worth it!

The Dolphin House is a masterpiece created by one man over 30 years and he is still building. It is a must-see while in Bimini. We took a taxi because it is on the far end of the island in Alice Town. The builder, Ashley Saunders, gave us the tour himself and every room was magnificent with so many details and spectacular views. I was astonished that one man created all of that. Afterward, our taxi took us to Radio Beach nearby to splash around a few minutes. That beach was the most beautiful beach by far on the whole island.

Ashley, the owner/builder/caretaker is a beautiful man and has built one of the most unique buildings I've ever had the pleasure to tour. The small donation to see the place is nothing compared to the one of a kind craftsmanship you'll see. It is a living, breathing growing piece of art that is also habitable. It both feels ancient and brand new all at once. Full of treasures from the sea and shipping, it's built from reclaimed materials most people would consider garbage. You will never see another place like this anywhere else I promise you.

Cool little piece of Bimini history and a labor of love by the creator/owner Ashley. Would highly recommend a stop to check out the interesting work of art if you are exploring the island. Ashley has some great stories and humor to share!

Absolutely breathtaking museum. Built by a single person, Ashley Saunders, this building has been a work in progress since 1993. It is a beautiful work of art that has weathered nine hurricanes! Tour the inside to see the incredible combination of conch shells, sea glass, and a ton of other things Ashley found to build the house; then climb to the roof for a panoramic view of Bimini. We met Ashley at the end of the tour and got to take a picture with him - he was incredibly nice and telling us all about the house. We loved visiting here and would recommend it to anyone going to Bimini. This is a must-see!!!
