We stayed here twice—both at the start and end of our three-week adventure in Crete—and couldn’t have chosen a better base. The location is absolutely unbeatable: steps away from the best restaurants and top sights, making it the ideal spot for exploring the city. Breakfast here is outstanding, and the rooms are modern, comfortable, and well-appointed. The service was consistently excellent throughout our visits. If you’re staying, do yourself a favor and dine at Peskesi—just make sure to book a reservation! This hotel offers convenience, quality, and a truly memorable experience. Highly recommended. One note: there is a review from a Bill C. with one review to his name which is the exact opposite of our experience at around the same time we were there. I can't explain this gap in our subjective experiences.

Keeping this as short as possible. The hotel is definitely a 10/10. The staff ( including the lovely cleaners ) more than a 10. Can’t even come close to describing how fantastic the owner George and staff are. We stayed at the DOM at the beginning and the end of our trip to Crete. On the way back from Chania I left my iPad on the bus which unfortunately when I realised it was on its way back from Heraklion to the Chania bus terminal. I spoke to the staff at DOM who were super helpful. As we were flying out the next day all I could do was give them my contact details & home address ( we live in Australia ) in hope they would follow up. They did. They were able to get the iPad sent back to Heraklion which was then picked up by a staff member As we were in Manchester for a few days before heading back to Australia George and I had a few back and forth messages about how we were going to get my iPad back to me. George finally sent my iPad by courier as well as providing me all of the details of the courier company and a tracking link. I’ve just had Australia Post notify me that my parcel has arrived and will be couriered to me tomorrow. This all happened In a 3 week period. I can’t say enough about George and his team. They are simply the best.

STAY AWAY from Dom Boutique and Heraklion!!! My wife and I booked the best suite, room in this hotel, for 5 nights, and received hindrance not welcome. We requested a private guide to drive us for a full day and give us personal historical cultural tour of a part of Crete. We contacted the guide recommended by the hotel and booked him based on their recommendation. We were met by a man driving a very uncomfortable large van. The windows would not open and it was a van with uncomfortable seats with no armrests and seats for 9 people. We are in our sixties and requested a guide who could be understanding of my wife's limited ability to walk long distances. Sitting in the back of a large van going over highways with bumps that left us airborne and swinging back and forth over mountain switch backs made us nauseous throughout the day. The guide provided a few comments at each stop like here's the plaka, would you like 20 minutes. He made phone calls and kept turning the music up when we requested he lower the music. At the end this wasted day, we learned our guide was never a guide at all. Guides in Greece have education requirements and a LICENCE! Our hotel recommended guide Petros had no license. We paid a whopping $544 for a GUIDE recommended by Antonis at Dom Boutique Hotel. After travelling mostly independently to Europe for over 30 years, Heraklion is the ONLY location in Europe we would recommend to no Americans. You are not welcome here! Booming club music plays for blocks from afternoon to way after midnight from restaurants all over the city. There is no peaceful place to relax. If you want to be cheated, scammed and lied to on your vacation every day, by all means travel to Herkilon and Crete. Restaurants who were not full would say they were full or had reservations because they would not serve Americans. At one bar/restaurant we ordered 2 beers, the server said our credit card did not go through after 4 tries, so we paid cash. We stayed at the table and called our bank. Four transactions were processed. When we brought this up with the staff and management, we were told to return the next day to request a refund. On the Hop on Hop Off Bus from Knossos Archeological Site stop to the next stop the Archeological Museum the driver did not inform us that he was taking another route we were left far from our destination. There is more but there is a limit to words. Don't ever go to Dom Boutique Hotel or Heraklion.

Very nice boutique hotel right in the heart of Heraklion! Rooms were clean, service was always impeccable, and above all we really loved their breakfast, they had such a wide choice between continental and Greek breakfast, everything was absolutely delicious! We felt very welcome and we had definitely a wonderful stay here. Also one plus, its location was amazing, making it easy to pop in and out during our strolls in the city. Highly recommend!

The hotel manager George was a life-saver during my travel fiasco of trying to get back home. He was extremely helpful, supportive and understanding of my situation, and the rest of the staff were also kind and friendly. The rooms are clean and new with excellent amenities. The breakfast is delicious with a great selection. Would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in the old town of Heraklion.

This is quite nice business hotel - rather than a boutique hotel. The main difference is that the hotel amenities are limited. The gym is really basic and cannot accomodate more than 2/3 people. The hotel has a fantastic location, in the centre but far away from the noise.

A fantastic stay in a perfectly located hotel — you can’t beat the convenience of this spot. The rooms are modern and have everything you need for a comfortable visit. While some building noise and voices did carry at times, it didn’t take away from the experience. What really stood out was the service: warm, attentive, and absolutely exceeded our expectations. Would happily stay here again.

Absolutely amazing. Us two Canadians had a very enjoyable time at the hotel. First the location is PERFECT for seeing all the local sites and walking to/from the port. Taxi from airport was 18 euros. Breakfast was delightful, served from 7-10am in the morning. On our last day we had to leave before 7am to catch our ferry. The breakfast room was available early to us (just call the front desk the night before and let them know of your early departure). This was a really nice touch, and have not experienced at a hotel before. Also we enjoyed the amenities in the room, including 2 free water bottles a day. If you want to save on food/drinks for your journey just stop into the grocery store next door. 5 thumbs up.
