Saint Urban Is NYC’s Best New Restaurant for Wine

"Produced on the property by an eighth-generation family working the land since 1695, the Domaine de Beaurenard 1990 Châteauneuf-du-Pape I tasted is a vivid example of aged Grenache: where youthful notes might have been black cherries and clove, it has become drowsy, almost dusty and introspective, with a little incense, a whisper of pepper, and the memory of blackberry jam — and it was fabulous with a peppered sirloin cap." - Matthew Schneier

We were visiting Châteauneuf-du-Pape on the Veraison this year for one night, and had very limited time before wineries would close. I wanted to make sure I visit a place with traditions, character and soul. And Domaine de Beaurenard did not disappoint! From the moment we stepped in and were warmly greeted by Sylvie (who had helped to reserve wine tasting via email a few weeks before), we could see history, passion, culture of winemaking. Sylvie offered us to have a look around and into the aging room, and afterwards had a lovely chat during tasting. It was almost closing time on a big festival day, but she never looked tired or in a rush. Wines were beautiful (thank you for the special one!), I wish I could buy more to fly them home. History of the domaine is impressive and full of passion. The only thing I regret is that we could not get to the village early enough to join the guided tour. Thank you, Sylvie (and special thanks from the kids for the juice ;)). I have a place to visit when I am in Châteauneuf-du-Pape next time!

We visited Domaine de Beaurenard on Friday of last week and the hospitality from Sylvie was impeccable. She was informative and welcoming and we could not have asked for anything more. While we were there we also got a chance to meet some of the family members that own the winery because they are always there which says a lot about the quality and care they put into their wine. I will forever recommend this wine and this winery as it is easy to put your word behind people who truly care! Thank you, Sylvie!

Very personal, nice wine tasting and great wine, we have learned a lot also about wine production. 13 different grapes in one glas.

I had a truly wonderful experience at Domaine de Beaurenard. The estate itself is beautiful and full of history, and the wines are exceptional, showcasing the richness and elegance of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. A special thank you to Sylvie, who guided our tasting. She was incredibly knowledgeable, welcoming, and passionate about the wines and the domaine’s philosophy. She took the time to explain not just the wines, but also the history, terroir, and biodynamic approach, which made the experience both educational and memorable. I left with a deeper appreciation of the wines and the estate, and I would highly recommend a visit to anyone traveling in the region. Thank you to Sylvie and the Domaine de Beaurenard team for such a warm and unforgettable experience!

Beautiful Chateau of the 8th generation family run winery. You can do tours of the winery and tastings. Beaurenard has a very good quality selection of wines to try and buy from here. This is next to the museum which also gets busy, so try and go earlyish otherwise tastings may also be busy which is not as ideal.

We had our best wine tasting experience of Chateauneuf du Pape at Domaine de Beaurenaed! Thanks to Elodie and Sylvie! A free but very immersive experience with physical grapes display of the 13 types of grape of the appellation, to the visit of the aging room, to the immersive tasting.

Yelp
Was truly looking forward to visiting the winery is one of my favorites. Hostess was ridiculous wanted to charge us 20 euros a piece unless we brought a bottle. Then preceded to send us down to the wine cellar without escort. Are wine tasting, she blew though it and rushed us out the door. Big fail.

Yelp
This place had great wines as well as a great winery. I saw so much history and passion as I was walking through the winery. The wine tasting was great and so was everyone that was helping us. It's great to have people that treat you like friends rather than customers. Great experience!

Yelp
The winery treated our tour group to an excellent wine tasting and education program. The education included an explanation of the wines grown in the region (there are 13 varieties) and the process for picking grapes and producing the wine. The French adhere to their tried and proven approach. Grapes are still hand picked. The education also tried to show how to taste and examine wine for its quality. They provided chocolates to show how eating the chocolates affected the taste of the wine. The winerie has an interesting collection of oak barrels of different sizes used to age the wine. Of course, the tour ended in the wine shop where visitors could purchase their wines and other local products. I recommend anyone in the area visit this winery to tour the winerie and sample their wines.
