This beautiful winery is located in the stunning Annapolis Valley region. What a treat to enjoy their wine tasting and walk around the grounds in historic UNESCO Grand Prix Heritage site. The tastings were $12 with generous pours of the wines produced from grapes unique to the area. We really enjoyed and recommend their L’Acadie for white wine drinkers and their Field Blend for red wine drinkers.

My fiancé and I popped in on what happened to be their first day open for the 2025 season. We talked with the staff and did a wine tasting. It was a lovely experience! The staff were very knowledgeable and friendly, and the wines were great! Our favourite was the Castel.

We visited Grande Pre winery this past weekend and we loved it! The male who was working this Saturday who led our group wine tasting really made the experience!! He was so knowledgeable and welcoming. We went through the correct way to taste wine and had so much knowledge about the winery and all the wines they offered. I loved their Tidal Bay and friend loved the Castel! I can’t wait to visit again!

I did a tasting at Grand Pre winery on a busy Friday. It was one of the wineries I enjoyed the most. I liked their wines and though they seemed quite busy, the lady who serve me was quite friendly. I did the classic tasting and one of the things I liked less is that the whole tasting (done at the bar in the wine shop) was done in 1 glass for whites and 1 for red. So you had to finish your glass or pour to be able to taste the next one which did not allow for comparison between the different wines. Also, I wished for more insight on winery and the wines. The site is beautiful, you can walk independently through the vines and to the grand pre historic site.

Best tasting of our trip and most impressive winery we visited. Wines were excellent as was the staff’s knowledge of them. Much more intimate experience than other places we visited.

The people here are friendly but I was not a fan of the wine at all. I’m not a wine snob nor an expert but we were not a fan of this wine. I’ve had wine from plenty of other emerging markets so I had no expectation of this wine matching a Napa cab. We tried several of the wines and they just didn’t work for us. If you like sweeter wines you may like some of it though. The property is nice. It’s up a hill and you can see the vineyards right there. We payed $229 to come on a tour of this and one other place and we feel it wasn’t worth it. I’ve spent less than that for better wine tours in Europe.

Had a wonderful lunch on the patio at LeCaveau ! We had the Millot Reserve, Duck Fries, and chaceurterie board with cheese. The veggies on the board were pickled with curry and had beautiful floral overtones. Stopped at the wine shop and picked up a case of Castel, 9ne of our favs - miss the Muscat ! Service at Le Caveau was great but the gentleman in the shop at the tasting bar was quite aloof toward us which was disappointing. Overall, great experience and always highly recommend!

Yelp
Of the numerous wineries of the area our B&B host suggested this is the one to go to if you can only see one. Boy were they right! Tastefully set among grape vines, this winery is both modern and high end while very pleasantly unassuming and not pompous. The tasting is offered as self guided or with a presenter. Since we had our dog with us we were seated outside on a beautiful deck, with a breeze, shade and amongst luscious greenery. The self presentation and tasting is done in a very stylish way and we only wish other wineries followed suit: We received flights of reds and whites in a beautifully designed wine glass holder (see pics) along with a tasting notes for each wine, and the recommended order to be tasted. We were able to go through them leisurely with no pressure and ended up buying three bottles that we liked the most! Following the tasting we continued with a self guided walk through their vineyards which ended in a spectacular overlook of the Grand Pre area, The whole experience was perfect, from the setting, the service, and the walk. Absolutely a must if you visit the area even for a brief time.

Yelp
This review is for the Inn at Grand Pre, where I had a wonderful 2-night stay. The rooms are beautiful and well appointed, with comfortable beds and aveda products. The staff was super helpful and the morning breakfast, my goodness the breakfast! It arrives on a tray at your door with delicious scones and granola and fruit plus French press coffee and juice. Out of this world. Le Caveau restaurant is onsite (DELICIOUS) and a walk through the vineyard brings you to the Grand Pre overlook. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Stoped by before they close on a hot summer night and since they were "closing soon" they turned us away. How long does a few tastings and a wine sale take? Too long for them I guess. Bought $100 worth of wine at the next three wineries... they're definitely not the only ones in the valley.

Yelp
We didn't eat here, but recommend it for the view, the kind service and AMAZING apple cream liquor.

Yelp
They make some of my favorite NS, and canadian wines. At their very new and very contemporary tasting room I tasted every wine they have and was so pleasantly surprised. The dessert wines though just knocked my socks off, you must try it! The staff was friendly and very knowledgeable. I must say that both Wolfville and Grand Pre have fantastic food and wine and food and wine people. Every sommelier, every waiter, every cook I spoke with just really knew their stuff and were very connected with their terroir. Can't wait to visit again... should be soon since my NS wine stock is getting pretty low :) I didn't try their restaurant at this time, next time for sure.

Yelp
After many envious drive-bys of the Grand Pré Winery without ever being able to stop and visit, I finally made a point of checking out their Thursday Summer Martini Night. These special events are hosted every Thursday in July and August starting at 7pm and you've got to arrive on time or else you might not get in. Once all the tables are full, they start turning people away - you've only got one shot each Thursday! With the added bonus of Sheva Solomon performing, this was the perfect chance to check out something new along with a musical performance by a great local talent. It was a gorgeous summer evening which meant getting to take advantage of the stunning back patio - a series of upscale picnic tables surrounded by vine-covered trellises, placed in a circle around the cobblestone common area. It really was a picture out of a magazine except for the herd of flies buzzing about. Luckily our server came prepared with some deep woods bug spray that kept them at bay. As for the important parts, martinis and mojitos were $8 instead of the usual $10 and tapas dishes all ranged between $4-7 each or $28 for a selection of any five. The drinks were delicious and actually packed a punch. Whenever I see cocktails served in those small, stemless martini glasses, particularly on happy hour nights, I suspect to spend $100 and walk away feeling like I've had about two real drinks. NOT THESE. Our crowd was respectfully rowdy by the end of the second round. For those who aren't really the cocktail type, I'd suggest the Basil Martini - a fresh and fragrant twist on the classic vodka martini. The food, unfortunately, was quite a let-down. As a crew full of experienced snackers, we went with a five-item tapas platter, none of which really blew us away besides the fresh onion rings with wasabi mayo. The corndogs reportedly lacked flavour and seemed to be made with an unappetizing gray meat, the spring rolls were a little below average, and I'm afraid I can't even remember the others we tried. Still, it was hard to get caught up on the negatives with the gorgeous, soulful sound of Sheva all night and the fun, personable server who had the privilege/curse of having to deal with us for several hours. She held her own despite our tendency to get err...saucy when we get sauced, was always on the ball, and kept a smile on our faces. This will definitely be a new summer tradition!

Yelp
A fantastic discovery quite close to Halifax. Their Tidal Bay and Riesling were great and their meat board with meats they make in tge winery themselves are one of the best boards I have tried in the World. They were named one of the best 20 winery restaurants in the World. Their service is also top notch. Glad we stumbled upon it.

Yelp
Warning about this place: Went there on Aug 11, 2017. Tried taste test of the Castel red wine, it was the best wine I've ever had in my life. Bought a bottle, took it home, it was a completely different flavor. Totally bland. My friend bottles her own wine for $3 a bottle and she said that the bland cheap wine she bottles was better then what we bought. Called Domain De Grand Pre and reported it. Was told that it's probably because the grapes weren't aged long enough, as I was given a new bottle whereas the taster was from a different bottle. Awesome, no problem, I get it. Except, that was it. He didn't offer to send me a new bottle, no interest in rectifying this negative experience for me or promoting a good name for the company. Nothing. This is a warning to anyone else who buys a bottle of wine here and it happens to taste completely different from what they tasted. There is precedence, this has happened before, and the company did nothing. If this happens to you then you deserve a new bottle. We as customers deserve to get what we pay for, and failing that, we deserve to have the situation rectified.

Yelp
Small university town of Wolfville in Nova Scotia and it surprises me with such a wonderful and different menu. We started with seared scallops crusted with ground rice and pepper over a bacon sweet jam and mashed potato. Then a crisp caesar salad with their signature avocado caesar vinaigrette dressing. The parmesian cheese was shaved and the romaine quite crisp and accompanied with bacon. As the restaurant is adjacent to the winery we had previously attended a tasting so we enjoyed the haskap sparkling wine as an appertif and the dry riesling with the meal.

Yelp
Having a glass of Tribute while writing this review... Surprisingly complex red. Of the high end Flight I tried there, my fave. Not a white wine guy (though being a New Englander, I get that whites are more amenable to the these climates), the un-oaked dry L'Acadie Blanc was to my taste. The brut was also notable. Not a fan of Muscat so the sweeter whites were not my taste. The other red I tried was a little thin. $25 for Tribute is a little high, but supporting the local appellation takes the bite off that. I'd buy it again.

Yelp
During the summer and early fall, I try to fit in as many trips to the Annapolis Valley as possible. The area has its own little micro-climate that is hard to beat - and as an agricultural hub of Nova Scotia, it has many wonderful restaurants that feature the bounty that the land provides. Located on the property of Domaine to Grand Pre, Le Caveau is one of my favourite places to eat in all of Nova Scotia. It is a 5-Star experience year round that holds a trump card in the form of a beautiful Pergola (when the weather cooperates). There are few dining experiences that I have come across which are as relaxed and romantic at the same time. Although, if you are allergic to bees - or have a general fear of insects - the restaurant itself is quite lovely. On your way home, be sure to stop by the wine shop. My personal favourite is the Pomme d'Or - a sugary-sweet desert wine made from a blend of local valley apples. And if wine isn't really your thing, give the Stutz Cider a try. It is fairly light, more sweet than bitter, and a perfect drink for a lazy summer day in the Annapolis Valley.

Yelp
This is one of the larger wineries in the area. They offer wine tours a few times a day which I took the last time I was there. You're led around a bit of the vineyards and given some insights into the growing of grapes and even a little Acadian culture. It's not super long, and at the end of the tour you are directed to the lovely tasting bar. The host teaches gives you a quick crash course before you work your way through the whites into the reds. I'll be honest while I enjoy the wines, they are not my favorite in the valley. I recently had the opportunity to dine at the on site restaurant. Because it was a beautiful day I got to enjoy dining in their awesome pergola. The menu is small but everything sounds delicious. The service was lovely throughout the meal - I appreciate that the waitress took note of my asking if there was any red meat in the salad sampler and asked if I was a vegetarian. I appreciated this because when the amuse bouche was brought out my parents got an Asian meatball and I received a piece of tofu with the same flavors as the meatball which I really appreciated. I had the Moroccan carrot soup which was really good, but the appetizer winner was the special of the day that my mom ordered - pan fried gnocchi - it was awesome. For my main I had the Moroccan Butter Chicken - I think I was expecting an Indian style chicken, but it was more of a braised, almost stew like dish with couscous and vegetables, it was yummy and packed a nice punch. For dessert I had the chocolate tarte which was a very nice way to end the meal. Overall while their wines may not be my favorite, I'm a big fan of the restaurant!

Yelp
I don't know much about wine, but I can tell you that Le Caveau Restaurant at Domaine de Grand Pré was a divine experience. First, let's talk about how pretty it is. It's easily one of the most beautiful places I've ever enjoyed a meal, tucked away in a garden. And the food? The food! So delicious. My salad was fresh and tasty, and my crab gnocchi was to die for. The atmosphere is romantic, the service is outstanding, and the food is top notch. It's a great place to spend a summer day.

Yelp
As a newbie to wine I've come here twice, mostly for gifts for other people. I finally decided I would try some wines. I enjoyed a taste testing with my mother at their bar and the woman helping was so informative and sweet even when i asked (what i felt was) stupid questions. She was patient and explained everything really simply. I walked out of there with two glass wine glasses, a beautiful resling and the famous pomme d`or. They even had wine skins for my suitcase since im from Toronto. I can't wait to go back!!!!

Yelp
We love it here! We arrived on a Thursday evening to eat on their patio but the tables had just filled up since live music was beginning in 15 minutes. We went into the winery, grabbed a few glasses of wine and went and enjoyed the farmhouse table in the middle of the vineyard while waiting for a table. Before long someone had left and we score a table right in front of the band - perfect! Service was good and they told us it would be a while to get our food since it was a very busy night. We ordered the seafood chowder (delicious!), their farm salad which had pickled melon and fresh mint (such a memorable dish) and a Caesar salad. Everything was delicious and the band, The Sundries, was great! A perfect night and gorgeous setting!

Yelp
What a treat last night! The food was great. We had a hard time picking between so many sumptuous sounding menu items. Michelle our server helped us to find the perfect wine for each course. This is my new favorite restaurant in Nova Scotia.

Yelp
Stunning views. Very friendly people. And the wine is, of course, better when you taste it in the beautiful place that it's made. A must-do on your trip to the area.

Yelp
My husband and I booked a table at Le Caveau for a special occasion and made a special drive for it - unfortunately it was not worth the effort as the food is mediocre and the service was very amateur. We were told in advance that the restaurant was fully booked so we could only sit on the patio (which as it turned out, is infested with black flies) - yet the parking lot had only four cars in it, so I'm not sure why the dining room was not available to us. When we arrived, although the patio was also empty, someone greeted us and then left us waiting for more than five minutes at the hostess stand, while several servers came up to us and asked if we had been helped, and then walked away. Overall, we both found the menu to be limited, the options to be very expensive for portion size, and most importantly, the quality just wasn't there. My husband ordered the steak ($35) - awful cut of meat full of fat and gristle and cooked very poorly. The service, however, was the breaking point. We were served by a very young girl who seemed to have zero interest in helping us -- she barely acknowledged us, could not recommend any wines or dishes, she didn't bring a steak knife and when we asked for one, took more than 10 minutes to bring it out to the point that the meal was cold, and when we ordered coffee for dessert (having given up on the disappointing food) the coffee was served cold, and stale tasting, with creamer packets as if we were in a 50s diner. All this for a $100 meal with tax. The winery itself is gorgeous location and their whites are excellent, but unfortunately this isn't a restaurant I could recommend to others.
