Domaine de la Corniche (Rolleboise, Île-de-France) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Built in 1908 by King Leopold II of Belgium for the last love of his life, this delightful property dominates the Seine. Modern day lovers will adore the designer interior, rooms with a view and the panoramic swimming pool." - Tablet Hotels

I stayed at this hotel hoping for a relaxing getaway, but unfortunately, it didn’t meet my expectations. The hotel is split into different locations—the main building, called the “palace,” and other buildings that you have to walk outside to reach. The furniture and overall decor are very outdated. Carpets looked dirty, the elevator was old and grimy, and the rooms felt stuck in the past with old-fashioned furnishings. Definitely not what I expected. I specifically chose this hotel because I wanted to enjoy the pool and sauna, but it turns out those come with extra hourly charges, which felt like a surprise and a bit of a rip-off. The pool and sauna area themselves were very old and felt unfinished—actually, kind of dirty. Breakfast was another disappointment. At 22€ per person, the cost was way too high for what was offered. Some of the plates even had chipped edges. The hotel has great views and some charm, but it’s clear that maintenance and care are lacking. Overall, I was pretty disappointed with my stay. Clearly not a 4 star hotel.

An overnight stay on our way back home, it was perfect. We had a room with a balcony and the view was amazing. Bedroom and bathroom very well done and staff friendly and helpful. We eat at the Bistro which was excellent and good value for money and the breakfast one of the best hotel breakfasts since Covid. ||We really enjoyed our stay.

We stayed in a room located in the spa annex, and from the very beginning the experience was deeply disappointing. As soon as we entered the room, we were struck by a strong smell of damp. The problem was clearly visible: large bubbles on the walls and mold growing on the shower joints. We even took photos to document the state of the room.||We immediately tried to contact the reception, but the room telephone was out of service. Even after reporting the issue, the phone remained unusable throughout our stay. We then attempted to call using our mobile phones, but the network reception in the annex was so poor that it was practically impossible to reach the front desk. Our only option was to go in person.||Once at the reception, we had to wait nearly half an hour as only one staff member was attending to another guest. When it was finally our turn, we were simply told that the hotel was fully booked, leaving us with no alternative but to remain in this unhealthy, damp room.||Upon check-out, we raised the cleanliness issue again, pointing out that much of the mold could have been removed with a simple cleaning product such as bleach. The answer we received was that they do not use bleach because the hotel brands itself as “green.” Unfortunately, this so-called eco-friendly excuse only highlighted their negligence in maintaining basic hygiene standards.||This property advertises itself as a 4-star hotel, but in reality, it deserves no more than 2 stars. The conditions we experienced were unacceptable and misleading for guests expecting comfort and quality. We both arrived in good health, but after the very first night, we fell ill due to the poor air quality in the room.||This was one of the worst hotel experiences we have ever had, and we would strongly advise future guests to avoid it.

Google
A huge thankyou to the team at La Corniche who made our birthday getaway so incredibly special for us! The hotel is a wonderfully charming oasis of tranquility, with plenty of activities and super spa and pool facilities, excellent breakfast (the pancake machine is super cool!) - and the best view of the Seine and countryside in France! Great for a day trip to Giverny, and for cycling the surrounding area. Thanks again to the team for going above and beyond and for such a warm welcome. All the best, and we hope to be back. Lara and James.

I had a very pleasant stay at Hotel de la Corniche. I really appreciated the service to put my bike in a safe space, the staff was amazing and the quality of service too! I enjoyed a beer at the pool, a buffet dinner and an amazing breakfast! :)

Very pleasant surprise in terms of quality and cleanliness. Room for improvement in the bistrot and variety of snacks in the bar. Carpeting should be replaced in the common areas as does not feel as clean as hardwood floors or tiles. Very well kept. Keep up the good work.

V nice food; very well prepared and presented with good ingredients. The view from the restaurant in the chateau is lovely. The other restaurant is more informal and across the road. When the weather is nice, it is lovely to sit outside. Rooms in the main chateau have fantastic views (rooms at the back). Very nice atmosphere in the hotel; feels like a house you are staying at.

This was by far one of the worst hotels I have stayed at. Overpriced and not worth a single penny. There is no food on the premises, no entertainment (even though it is promoted as kid friendly) and the staff are rather disappointing. Also the hotel is advertised as a spa retreat, though you cannot use the spa unless you pay extra for its access. My children were not allowed to use the pool until I insisted that it was unacceptable. Overall very terrible experience and very very expensive

Yelp
My wife and I stayed several nights at the Domaine de la Corniche. The entire hotel was charming, with a sophisticated balance of modern interior design and historical architecture, and the view of the Seine River was magnificent. The meals at the Bistro and the Panoramique Restaurant were exceptional, and the bar had a good selection. The entire staff was cheerful and helpful. It was only a twenty minute drive through the country to get to Monet's home in Giverny, one of our top destinations on our trip from the US to France.

Yelp
Our visit to Giverny and Versailles was made even more perfect by our two nights stay here at Domaine de la Corniche. Excellent splurge meal at the restaurant. We had the 8 course "tasting menu" for €65 and exch dish was a work of art. It took 3 hours to eat and was like attending a great show. See my pictures.

Yelp
I loved staying here. It is a very quiet and pleasant place to stay. It was a quick drive to Monet's gardens but away from the tourist zone! I didn't have the pleasure to eat dinner here but breakfast was outstanding. The quality of the food was excellent. The views of the Seine are spectacular. If I were to return to this part of France I would definitely stay here again.
